Chapter 3: The birth of Hauron
Nick couldn't believe the amount of money he received for the Ancient Egyptian antiquities and artifacts he had retrieved from Abydos. The sale had left him with a substantial sum, enough to provide for himself for an extended period. With newfound financial freedom, he wouldn't have to work for quite some time.
After the successful sale, Nick decided to quit his job. With his coffers filled and his big plans , it seemed like the perfect time to take a break from the daily grind. He scheduled a meeting with his employer, Mr. Reynolds, a stern but fair man who had overseen the company for years. Nick entered Mr. Reynolds' office, his heart filled with determination. As he explained his decision to leave the company, Mr. Reynolds listened attentively, his brow furrowed in surprise."Nick, you've been a valuable member of the team," Mr. Reynolds said, his tone a mix of disappointment and understanding. "May I ask what you plan to do next?"Nick hesitated for a moment, careful not to reveal too much. "I have some personal projects I'd like to pursue," he replied. "I need some time to focus on them."His employer nodded, accepting the vague explanation. "Well, Nick, I'm sorry to see you go, but I wish you the best in your endeavors. You've done excellent work here."With that, Nick's departure from the corporate world was sealed. He left the office, feeling a mix of emotions—relief, excitement, and a hint of uncertainty about the path he had chosen.
With newfound financial freedom and the weight of his corporate job lifted, Nick was ready to delve into the next phase of his extraordinary journey. His sights were set on a lofty goal: taking down the Goa'uld, one of the most formidable adversaries in the Stargate universe. Nick knew that to achieve this ambitious mission, he needed more than just determination—he needed manpower he needed ships... he needed an empire.
Nick had set his sights on a grand and audacious goal: the conquest of a minor Goa'uld domain. This was to be a pivotal step in his mission to dismantle the Goa'uld empire. However, Nick was under no illusion that his true self could simply infiltrate such a domain. He needed more than just determination; he needed to become a Goa'uld himself, or at least an illusion of one. But he was far from the charismatic and commanding System Lords portrayed in the shows. Nick lacked the Goa'uld's flashy eyes and deep voice, not to mention the naquadah-infused blood that allowed them to control their technology with mere thoughts.
Undeterred, Nick began his research online, scouring for any insights on how to resemble a Goa'uld. He couldn't reveal his true intentions to anyone, so he had to tread carefully. His search led him to a specialized cosplay suit maker who understood the unique requirements of his unusual project.
Together with the skilled artisan, they embarked on the creation of his Goa'uld persona, named Hauron. The suit had to be both authentic and conceal Nick's humanity. It was a meticulous process, starting with a costume that replicated the regal appearance of a Goa'uld Lord.
The solution to mimicking the Goa'uld's voice came in the form of a throat voice changer using a hidden piezoelectric microphone and speaker. The collar of his suit seamlessly integrated these devices, allowing Nick to modulate his voice and sound Just like a Goa'uld.
Replicating the striking Goa'uld eyes proved to be a challenge. Nick briefly considered glow-in-the-dark lenses, but their inconsistent illumination on command posed a significant hurdle. Besides, he had observed that in the show, the Goa'uld rarely flashed their eyes, making it a less crucial aspect of his disguise for now.
Nick knew that the Goa'uld used the naquadah in their blood to transmit their thoughts to devices like the Kara'kesh and other technology. With no naquadah to rely on, he needed an alternatives. For the Kara'kesh Nick worked on a gesture-controlled interface that allowed him to interact with it through hand movements. Making a fist would activate a protective energy shield, while specific arm and finger gestures could trigger other functions, including energy blasts.
With the creation of his Goa'uld persona, Hauron, Nick meticulously prepared to take over a minor Goa'uld's domain, marking the initial phase of his grand strategy. His objective was clear: to build the foundations of an empire that would ultimately shatter the Goa'uld's dominion.
As he delved deeper into his new identity, Nick knew that he needed more than just an imposing appearance. He began to study the intricacies of Goa'uld politics, their methods of control, and the dynamics of power within their society. He realized that manipulation, cunning, and charisma were just as crucial as physical might in this endeavor.
Nick's distinctive appearance, including the regal costume and the hidden throat voice changer integrated into his high collar, was only one facet of his transformation. He started honing his skills in commanding loyalty and instilling fear when necessary—essential qualities for a Goa'uld leader.
He knew the path ahead would be treacherous, with rival Goa'uld, Jaffa warriors, and the ever-present danger of discovery. But Nick was resolute, his determination unwavering. These initial steps marked the dawning of an empire that would one day challenge the very foundation of the Goa'uld's reign.
With his Goa'uld persona, Hauron, now fully realized and his weapons modded for his use, Nick decided to retreat to a remote part of the woods, far away from prying eyes. He needed a place where he could safely unleash the capabilities of the Kara'kesh, the Za'tarc laser weapon, and the Zat'ni'katel without drawing any unwanted attention. This was the perfect opportunity to familiarize himself with the weapons that would be essential in his quest to overthrow a minor Goa'uld lord.
Venturing deeper into the secluded forest, Nick's heart raced with a mix of excitement and trepidation. He found a tranquil clearing bathed in sunlight, the perfect setting for his test. With the Kara'kesh securely fastened to his left arm, he began practicing the gestures that would activate its various functions. Making a fist raised a protective energy shield that shimmered to life, surrounding him in a translucent barrier.
Nick marveled at the technology as he waved his arm in a specific pattern, causing the shield to retract. He knew that mastering these gestures would be crucial in the heat of battle when split-second decisions could mean the difference between victory and defeat.
Next, he turned his attention to the Za'tarc laser weapon. This palm-sized device had the potential to be a devastating weapon, capable of delivering precise energy blasts. Nick held it in his hand, feeling the weight of its power. With a simple press of his thumb, he activated the weapon, and a beam of energy shot forth, striking a nearby tree with tree's bark sizzled and smoked, leaving a smoldering mark where the laser had hit. Nick was impressed by the weapon's accuracy and power. He knew that mastering this tool would be essential for any confrontations he might face in the future.
Finally, Nick examined the Zat'nik'tel, a weapon with a more mysterious nature. It had the power to incapacitate, kill or disintergrate, making it a formidable tool in his arsenal. He aimed it at a distant tree and fired. The blue energy discharged, striking the target but nothing happend. After shooting it two times more the tree disintergrated.
Hours Nick continued to refine his control over the Kara'kesh, the Za'tarc laser weapon, and the Zat'ni'katel. He practiced until his gestures were fluid and instinctive, and his aim with the laser weapon was unerring. The remote forest had become his training ground, a place where he could hone his newfound abilities without fear of discovery.
As he stood in the midst of the tranquil woods, bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun, Nick felt a renewed sense of purpose. He was no longer an ordinary man from another reality. He was Hauron, a would-be conqueror, and the first steps toward building his empire had been taken.
With his weapons tested and his skills honed, Nick knew that the time was approaching to make his move. The empire he envisioned was within his grasp, and nothing would stand in his way as he ventured deeper into the world of the Goa'uld, ready to challenge their rule and forge a new destiny for the galaxy.
