Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Curse of the Wendigo. Enjoy the 3200-word chapter. I do not own RWBY; Monty and a few others do.
Reo slid backward, his claws sinking into the fine sand which gave almost no traction. It was impossible to sink your feet into something that could shift under one's feet without a second of alarm.
She threw herself at him, her muscular legs allowing her to leap further than a regular Faunus could ever dream of doing. He paused, utterly tired and unable to do more than fight… If she did not wish to keep fighting? He would be thankful; it was wearing on him just a tad.
He shot out arms as thick as trees, gripping her hands. She was still shorter than he transformed but he could tell there was still nothing but damn muscle within her arms, steel bands of tendons that surged with power and dust.
He barely moved but she wrestled with him, just as powerful as him, he grunted as she paused to press against him, and he felt his muscles surge against hers.
"Damn… You are getting strong fast." Reo said before opening his jaws to snap at her.
It caused her to let go and allowed him to leap back. She was strong enough to wrestle with him evenly and match his strength. It surprised him and terrified him for now but it was far too interesting for now as he paused to keep growing for now as he paused.
She panted in exhaustion and then looked downwards at the ground, utterly exhausted and drained but surging with more energy refilled what he had until then.
He was utterly maddened for now. A part of him respected her but he was worried, not knowing how to help her with the power she had grown in each little moment before now… There was a LOT more to it before it all came down to it now.
What else had come? What else had become of such a thing? What had been over for now? He paused and wished to relax for now and for good now.
He hummed before he looked at her and then cracked his fingers, utterly exhausted and setting his knuckles in the sand. He was glad he did not transform into this damn form in the day, not even his enhanced body would be able to deal without the water one needed.
The sun was as much his enemy as his friend and this place made it impossible to deal with for now and for good, an idea that would not be over with for now. He smiled, utterly relaxed for now and for good.
This did not matter; it did not matter to him sooner or later with such amusement. He paused and relaxed, leaning back in the sand as he let it wash over him with pain and soothing stinging as the wind washed it away from him.
Velvet slowly and yet surely marched towards him, allowing him a few vital moments of rest that he would need and want to have before they continued to fight for good at the end of this night.
It was fun at least to try and deal with for now and then looked to the ground before she seemed to be too interested in now and she seemed to be too interested.
Velvet was thrown off as she growled, her spines glowing with power before she looked over to him before she looked to the side as she was unable to deal with such a thing.
She would not be able to think as she tore towards him, her claws ready to tear through him as he reached up, grabbing them. Their momentum still sent them tumbling down the dune as he growled, annoyed only to the same degree.
It would not be too interesting to him, too unsure of what was going on… She would be too interested in what was going to happen next.
She looked over to the side, too interested in what was going on before now. She roared and started slashing over at him before she seemed to be looking over to the side.
They slammed into each other like freight trains, both seemed to be too interested in what was going on before it came down to it.
"What is going on?" Reo stated before he kicked her back. "You are getting stronger… The curse must be getting stronger in your brain." Reo stated as he and she slowly began to circle one another.
There was just too much that needed to be done to fix it…. There was something within it all becoming odder.
She swiped at him; he dodged it like it was in slow motion. He snorted, using the momentum to slam her to a knee which she used to drive her leg into his arm, making him roar as they slammed into one another like freight trains.
The two locked clawed hands and pushed, sand pooling under their feet. She was strong, as strong as him even… But he had the edge, the experience in this which let him throw her to the side and slam her down to the ground.
Even then? He could not relent for now as he knew something about it made him too interested in what was going on for now.
He tossed her to the ground.
There was just too much on his mind for him to fight at his best for now, it was chaos that dwelled within him like a bomb inside his mind, even like it all. There was something that could only continue to be bothering him.
He clicked his fingers and then looked to the side, too interested in the next move in the dice. The pain he felt in his bones made him crack a smile for now… And even then?
He would act as only he could only appear to have to try and deal with it more and more with such a thing… There was a lot more to deal with at the end of the day.
There were a few more seconds of silence before he paused to try and relax before it all came to an end next.
She had not been able to adapt to it as she laid her hands on the sand. Reo had been familiar with that sort of thing as he sighed, relaxing only at the end of the day… There was a lot he had to see and do… It was not to try and deal with for now… Something about it all was said and done…
Perhaps to him? He could not relent. He did not wish to, not when it was growing further and further with each passing second.
She had been silent, she looked at him with anger. She had been bored, unable to do more than relax with each passing moment, it was too much for even him.
"Why do you not want me to fight the Wendigo so badly?" Velvet asked.
"Because the Wendigo shows no mercy because it is a beast without mercy… I know what will happen when it shows up. It will cut you to pieces like it does everyone and everything it can get its claws on." Velvet heard.
"I am not a pushover, Reo," Velvet stated.
"No, but you are not a badass like the big-league hunters are. I am not either; we both know how dangerous those sorts of things are far more dangerous." Reo stated.
"The Wendigo is older than most Grimm. It talks for one, something I have not seen a single Grimm do, it is a very powerful beast as well…" Reo stated.
It was not meant to be rude. He set his paws in the sand, angry, slightly annoyed at himself as he had been tired, exhausted, unable to do more than grumble and think about it sooner or later.
He was not impressed by the way he handled these sorts of things. Velvet looked at him with glowing ocean eyes which held much the same rage he held as well.
Perhaps it was stuff that he had failed out again. He was never the best teacher and right now? He was worn down by constantly trying to deal with an issue he could not resist and a temper in which he did not wish to relax.
He had not been able to figure it all out and then? He had been able to relax either way. He had been unfamiliar with it lest he grows to be done with either way.
Such was life and life seemed to be beyond this. He had to surpass it all and he would not deal with it until the end of the day.
There was a sort of chaos on his mind, one which he could not have allowed for now and until the end of the day, too amused by what was going on.
He could not even try and figure it out when it came down to it, there was something else to try and figure it all out when push had come to shove. All of it seemed to be dealing with it for now, knowing what was growing on his brain.
To Reo? This girl was something else. She could not let it end with it all in the sand, there were a lot of moves he could not even attempt to understand when it was all said and done.
This pain was something he could not at all attempt to deal with.
Reo rested on his giant paws. He was amused more than tired at the end of the day, knowing it for now.
This sort of thing was chaotic enough for him to come crashing down through the ceiling. All the pain? The suffering? The Wendigo would and could bring more if they were not stopped.
To be fair? Reo was fighting as well as he could to try and deal with it for now… All of it? All of it seemed to be dealt with as he clicked his fingers.
The soldier within him seemed to be prepared for now as he clicked his fingers and then he looked to the side.
Velvet hummed and leaned on her feet, claws cutting through her fingers as she paused, thinking of what was going on and what would come next.
This girl had no damn clue what was going on, however. There was none, she was simply a pawn in whatever would be able to relax with this all on the line with each little second.
At the of the day being presented on cutting them all down to nothing was terrifying to him and yet he had no damn answer when it was all said and done, nothing at all in his mind… That sort of thing was chaotic.
He could not let it all end for now. He paused to let it all sink in before it came down to it now and with good reason.
Velvet seemed to be dealing with it for now as he clicked his fingers.
He had been able to think for a moment as Velvet reclined on the sands, knowing what was going on before he clicked his fingers, knowing that it would help when it all came down to it.
He watched her smile as he clicked his fingers before he seemed to think of what was going on and not wanting it to end. This was going to either good fun when it came down to nothing.
He had been too interested in what was going to end for now as it was all said and done.
This sort of fun was something that could not be interrupted at all when it came to it, there was something primal about it all and that alone was enough for him now, and for a good reason.
Velvet was simple, she knew it and she knew exactly what was going on at the end of the day. whatever it was? Whatever she tried? It was not going to end very well, not at all,
Reo hummed and looked at Velvet, knowing that if anything that could disrupt it would and that was not good, it would be easier said than done. it would be glorious and he would know.
He was too eager to figure it out when it had come down to it and he knew it now, he knew more and more that she was powerful, maybe even more than him, a lot more than him and he was jealous.
Perhaps? But he could not let it get in the way, he could not allow it to compromise what he had been doing and why. He had to get stronger, he had to fight, grow, and become more than he was already, whatever advantages she held. The Wendigo held double that alone.
He knew damn well whatever advantages she held? They would pale compared to them at the end of the time being, knowing what was going on.
Velvet seemed to be dealt with for now as he looked to the side, knowing that he was worried about for now, worried at the end of the day, knowing damn well what would come.
She paused and knew very well what would happen next at the end of the day before she seemed to think of what was going on. She set her hands in the sand, feeling the grainy texture under her clawed feet as she hummed and then looked to the side.
There was a moment of desire to which he broke apart, knowing exactly what was going on at the end of the day. Whatever was going on? There was a lot more to see and do next, it would be harder and harder.
He hummed and looked over to Velvet as she yawned and set her hands in the sand, knowing what was going on now.
There were a lot of things that Velvet needed to learn and he could not teach her now.
"You need to learn how to fight. There is more about combat than learning how to hit me as hard as you can." Reo stated before he cracked his fingers and he seemed to yawn.
"I am ready…. I need to be ready…." Reo stated, his eyes glowing the same hellish red they had before.
He was a lot more to try and figure it out as he looked at her and then once more. He seemed tired, knowing what was going on at the end of the time being for now.
Reo was silent and looked to the side. He knew damn well what would happen if he failed, he did not wish to which was why he could not afford to have failed now in time. He could not allow anything, either way, to get in the damn way.
The way it was clear at the end of the time was tired, he was worn down and incapable of doing more than relaxing. He wished for it now and for good reason.
Reo rested on his paws, knowing damn well how it would be if he ever for a second could just relax. He was tired and she was powerful.
To be entirely fair? He was annoyed as much as her friends were for now as he clicked his fingers, Velvet glowed with the same blue energy from before.
He was tired and so was she. Velvet was worn down to the bone and she wished to be tired as of now.
She had been too interested in what was coming and what was going on. She did not even know what Reo was doing, only that he and he alone would be capable of such a thing.
All Velvet knew was their work was not yet over. They had a lot more to see and do, something about it all bothered them to no end and bothered him as he glanced over at her.
"I do not doubt you are strong. I doubt you will not be able to handle it because I failed. I failed and I am strong enough to understand why it is the way it is." Reo stated before he sighed and then glanced over.
He held no real desire to figure it out, nothing of note which he had yet to deal with now.
Reo was silent, too silent for it to count, and for good reason, all of it was going to hurt… If he did nothing else? It was acting as how he had wished to relax.
Reo seemed to be dealt with for now as Velvet paused to think as it came crashing for now as she wished to try and figure it all out.
Velvet was silent, too silent as to what was growing on his mind, there was too much for now and for good reason.
"The power we have, this curse? It affects us differently, and it will always do so… All my mind is breaking on trying to control a small little measure of peace, so much that I do not know what to do when it is all over." Reo stated before he sighed.
Velvet was too silent, too eager to think of it now… All of this? It bothered her at the end. Yet? She was too different now, cracking her fingers as her claws extended from the midst of her hands.
Velvet looked strong enough to tear something in half but slender enough to be fighting on terms with huntsmen… While he was stuck. He was cursed in the manner he was… Velvet would not or could not have done something now.
Reo sighed and then thought of it the best way possible as if he did not know any real better when it came down. Reo seemed to be dealing with it for now as she paused to let it go.
Velvet seemed to think of her next moment, she would not let it come crashing down when it seemed to be done and dusted with an idea as she looked at the idea.
She seemed to be done and figured it out. Velvet seemed to be prepared for combat either way while she clicked her fingers.
The woman glared as she looked at Reo, her clawed fingers before they looked at each other. Her eyes glowed with haunting blue energy as she smirked, her claws shoved into the air.
Velvet seemed to be thinking of what was growing on her mind before she looked to the side while she thought of her next option.
"You will die," Reo stated before he sighed.
Velvet sighed as she looked to the be done and dusted for now and then thought of it when it was said and done. She did not know what was growing on her mind before she looked to the side.
Velvet seemed to be thinking of it
