Gargoyles: Stone By Night Season 01 Episode 07
We see that Elisa had been carrying a cheep flatscreen tv with the remote taped to the top of it trying to get inside and reaching for the handle trying to not drop the tv at the same time. "Allow me." A man spoke up walking over and opening the door for her so that she wouldn't have to struggle getting inside. "Worried about missing the light show tonight?" The man questioned letting her go inside ahead of him.
"It's a gift for some friends who are new to the city. I'm just stashing it here until I'm off duty and can take it to them." Elisa stated about what she was doing while going inside with the tv and the guy followed after her.
We fade off inside where Elisa was speaking with her boss stating "Captain Chavez, please tell me this is a joke." not liking whatever she'd been told.
"It's no joke, I'm asigning you a partner. It's time you had someone out there watching your back." Captain Chavez responded walking over towards the door and opening it up revealing the same guy that helped Elisa with the door earlier before stating "This is detective Matt Bluestone, he worked with me to close the Dracon business."
Elisa sighed and we cut to them leaving the office going over to a water cooler while she was stating "look I'm sure you're a great cop and all, but I don't need a partner. Nor do I want one, I can handle this job on my own." trying to explain that she doesn't want him being partnered with him.
"Hey I understand, but the problem is the chief makes that decision. Guess we just gonna make the best of it." Detective Matt Bluestone responded crossing his arms in response about her not wanting a partner in the field.
She'd let out another sigh and responds "There must be some sort of conspiracy to make my life miserable. Look, I got something to do. I'll meet you outside in about twenty minutes." and walks off to go take care of whatever it was with Detective Bluestone letting out a wave for her to go and take care of whatever it was.
We then see Elisa go into a supply clothset and pull down a hatch that dropped down some stairs for her to climb and picked up the TV to make her way up where the Gargoyles were already awake. "Perfect timing." Spider-Man stated walking over and taking the TV so that she wouldn't fall. "I just got the FTA Dish set up. It won't get all the channels Cable will, but hey, it's better than nothing."
"What brings you here anyway?" Elisa questioned why exactly Spider-Man was there. "Don't tell me you came all this way just to deliver a satellite dish for the Gargoyles."
"Hardly, it was just convenient timing. My Girlfriend was supposed to meet up with her Aunt on this end of New York and I figured I'd bring the old dish that was collecting dust over so that the Gargoyles can have something to watch." He answered back about why he'd brought them the dish and why he was in the city at the moment.
"Your girlfriend's aunt?" Hudson questioned what he was talking about exactly since those were human customs.
"Well, more like her second cousin once removed, but it's just easier to say Aunt. At least, that's what she says." Answered the Spider-themed hero about what he was talking about while setting up the tv for the Gargoyles.
"Where's Goliath?" Elisa questioned the rest of the clan about where the leader of their group was at right now.
"He's down in the library. Goliath likes to read." Lexington stated about where Goliath was right now while Spider-Man got the TV to start working and fully setup.
We fade off to Elisa wandering around the Library looking for the leader of the Gargoyles wondering what section he could be in with all these different books around calling out "Goliath, are you in here?" walking around and eventually finding him. "There you are, what are you reading?"
"Dostoyevsky." He answered back about what book he had been reading and sighed looking out at where he could see the Castle off in the distance. "Xanatos stole our ancestral home, drove us into hiding here, and I was unable to provent it." Goliath sighed about having lost the castle possibly for good.
"Look at it this way, you didn't loose a castle, you gained a library." Elisa answered back about trying to look on the bright side of things.
"This is his century, his world. We are outcasts, strangers in a strange land, and we have no hope of regaining what is rightfully ours." Goliath stated about the whole situation and having to leave their castle behind.
"You're right it's a lousy deal, but eventually he will fall. What goes around comes around Goliath, and I wouldn't want his Karma." She stated back about that whole situation in general.
"If only I could make him feel what I feel now." Sighed the leader of the Manhattan Clan about what he felt at that moment.
We fade back with everyone around the tv with Elisa sating "It's not exactly a six foot screen, but I hope it'll do."
"It's a grand gift lass, thank you, to both of you for getting this tv up and running." Hudson stated while they were flipping through the channels and spotting Xanatos going back and unmuting the channel.
"id Xanatos has donated one of the most pricelss jewls called The Eye of Odin to the museum of modern art from his private collection. This is quite the philathropic acts Mr. Xanatos. The eye is worth millions, to just give it way?" The reporter woman was speaking about how Xanatos donated something to a museum and asking why he'd simply give it away.
"Well Julie, I just felt like the Eye should be shared with the world instead of just locked away in my personal museum. Besides, it's a great tax write off." Xanatos stated back about having donated the Eye to the Museum.
"A Grand Gesture from a man known for Grand Gestures." Julie stated back which had angered Goliath to hear and he'd started to run off.
We see Elisa inside her car driving with Matt riding Shotgun stating "They're called the Illuminati. The way I hear it they run everything, even the President works for them."
"Right, and there's aligators in the sewers. You watch too many conspiracy videos Matt." Elisa stated to her unwanted field partner.
They'd gotten a radio transmition to go to the Museum of Modern Art and Matt put the siren light atop Elisa's car turning it on. When they got there something had flown from the building and Matt shot at it with them hearing a clang of metal. That was strange since it looked like a Gargoyle but with the metal clang that could really only mean one thing in her mind.
We cut back to Elisa speaking with the Gargoyles and Spider-Man who'd hung around for a bit telling them "And that's what happened. I heard Metal bouncing off of Metal, I think Xanatos must have rebuilt the Steel Clan and is using it to impersonate you."
"It makes no sense, why would Xanatos donate the jewel to the Museum and then have it stolen?" Hudson questioned trying to figure out why he'd do such a thing.
"Classic evil rich person trope. They donate it to look good to the public, then hire some specialist or send some robot to steal it back so they can keep it for theirself. It's a publicity thing." Spider-Man answered back about why that would be something that Xanatos would do.
"Hudson, you and Bronx stay and guard our new home. The rest of you come with me, we're going to pay Xanatos a visit. He will answer to me for this." Goliath stated about going to confront Xanatos.
"Whoa there tall dark and gruesom." Spider-Man stated webbing the door of the Clocktower to stop them from leaving just yet. "There's a right way and a wrong way to go about this. I've been there, had someone impersonaiting me a couple of years back. You show the people that you're being framed and then you take down the bad guy."
Goliath Growled and clawed his way through the webbing on the door and continued to leave "We will prove that the Steel Clan was the ones that impersonated me." while taking off from the Clocktower along with Lexington, Broadway, and Brooklyn.
"I'll go after them. I Deputized them it's my responsibility." Spider-Man stated jumping from the building and swinging off to follow.
Elisa had ran down to her car where Matt Bluestone had gone after her stating "Hey, whatever that thing was it's still out there. I'm not leaving you to it alone."
"I don't have time for this, get in." Elisa told him being in too much of a rush to argue and so they'd gotten into the vehicle and driven off.
Goliath had confronted Xanatos about everything with the others watching on just in case. "Xanatos, you've gone too far. First you steal our home, and now you steal our Very Identities." He'd growled out in anger with his eyes glowing.
"You've got it all wrong Goliath, I don't want you hunted like some wild beast. I only wanted your clan out of the way of my plans, you left on your own done deal simple as that. Revenge is a sucker's game. It would be a waste of time and resources to persue you, I didn't send the Steel Clan to get the Eye of Odin, someone else did." Xanatos answered back about Goliath's assumptions.
The Steel Clan had appeared and smacked Xanatos away and was now ready to fight against Goliath and the others with David running off to another part of the castle after he'd been struck calling "Hold them off or Destroy them, I'll try the kill switch!"
The Gargoyles with the help of Spider-Man were actually having an easier time dealing with the Steel Clan and were trying to destroy them but that part was a little tougher to do. Spider-Man helped to web up the Steel Clan and pulling hard while bracing himself against part of the castle causing one of their jetpacks to malfunction and sputter out.
Goliath had been fighting with another one while the Trio were trying to handle the rest. True to his word Xanatos had made his way to the controls and input the kill switch causing the Steel Clan to short out while one of them was trying to fly away but shorted out crashing into the river below them.
"The Eye of Odin is probably long gone because of that, I'll take one of these things back with me to the Nest and see if we can track where the activation signal came from. If it was Xanatos we'll know once that's done." Spider-Man stated to the Gargoyles webbing one of the bots and preparing to leave. "C'mon it's almost sunrise, you guys gotta get back to a safe place."
The Gargoyles had flown off following Spider-Man just as Elisa had been looking up at the sky towards the top of the building and she'd let out a sigh of relief, though Matt was clueless about what had been going on. We later see Owen cleaning up the bots and checking to see the damages with the Eye of Oden falling out of one of them and he'd looked at it curious before going over to Xanatos giving him the eye and then went back to doing his job.
The last thing we see is Elisa going to meet up with someone and see a dark brown haired girl that looked to be around Ninteent or so with light tan skin there wanting to introduce her boyfriend to her aunt. "Hey Aunt Elisa, I want you to meet my boyfriend this is Petey." The young woman introduced.
"Peter Parker, it's nice to meet you. I've heard a lot of good thing about you Detective Maza." Peter then stated in response while telling Elisa that it was nice to meet her.
"I heard about you breaking up with Flash Liz. It's nice to meet you Peter, I've heard good things about you too. Though come to think of it you kind of seem familiar somehow." Elisa sated calling her Neice Liz before mentioning Peter seemed familiar.
"Oh I uh, just have one of those faces I guess." Peter stated scratching the side of his head with his index finger and pinkie sticking up with his middle and ring fingers bent down along with his thumb pressed up to the side of his hand.
Now that was a familiar gesture, though Elisa let it go and simply responds "Right, that must be it."
