Gargoyles: Stone By Night Season 02 Episode 05
When we left off the Humans and Gargoyles of the Avalon Clan had been explaining what happened to their wounded with the Magus having stated "My old master the Archmage calls this dance. I am not sure how he managed to return after the defeat but he seems stronger than I've seen him thus far."
"After that disasterous battle I left to find help, and thankfully Avalon dropped me into your laps." Tom explained to the trio about how things eneded up the way they did.
"But we are running out of time, if we do not defeat the Archmage's sources before sunrise then the next battle will be over before it starts." The Magus explained to them about having to stop them before the sun rises.
"We have less than three hours left." Gabriel stated about the whole situation that they were dealing with.
"But Goliath is here now, he can protect us." Angela stated about Goliath being able to protect them from harm.
"We can deal with Macbeth and Demona, we've done so before and can do it again." Goliath stated to them while walking over to stand by Elisa then added "However we cannot fight the archmage without magic. Magus I will need your help."
"But I cannot do Magic, without the Grimorum I am useless." The Magus stated to them having given up even before things started since he no longer had his book of spells.
"That's not true, don't say it. Don't even think it." Princess Kathrine told the Magus about him thinking that he was useless to everyone like that.
"Judging by the damage that we have seen, there's a chance we can take them by stealth. If we can recover the weapons from Demona and Macbeth then we could turn them onto the Magus and the weird sisters and this time get rid of them for good." Goliath stated looking at a map of the isle.
"Then you'll need a guide." Angela stated to Goliath about joining their battle and helping them take on the group.
"Two, we know this island inside and out, literally. We've spent years searching every nook and cranny." Gabril also volunteered about helping Goliath.
"This must be a surgical strike. Angela and Gabriel with me, the rest of you must stay and help protect the wounded." Goliath agreed to them about how to handle the situation best.
"Elisa, you'd better come up with a Contingency Plan in case this doesn't work." Goliath stated to her and began to leave.
"Goliath wait just a moment I need to talk to you in private." Elisa stated to the Manhattan Clan leader and he'd nodded with the two going into a private room to speak. "Listen, I know it's not my place. But the eggs of the rookery were all raised by humans, they don't understand Gargoyle culture as you do. It's in human nature to wonder who you are and where your family comes from, and I suspect the Avalong Clan may do the same. Sooner or later Angela is going to put two and two together."
Taking a deep breath Goliath responds "I believe you, your instincts have never led me astray. But we must save that conversation for after the battle is won."
Elisa nodded and Goliath then went and left with Gabriel and Angela while she went over to the others and says "Tell me about the sleeping king."
We then fade to the trio of Gargoyles running through the forest with Gabriel stopping stating "I thought I heard something, over there. Did you hear it?" He'd questioned while gesturing over towards some bushes, thought Goliath and Angela both shook their heads no.
"The Grotto is just ahead." Angela told Goliath while gesturing towards the area that they were looking for.
"I'll act as a diversion, you two go on ahead and retrieve whatever strange weapons you can find. And no heroics you get in and get out, is that clear?" Goliath responded to the two younger Gargoyles who nodded and then ran off leaving Goliath alone.
Back with Elisa she was getting information from the others with The Magus stating "Little is known of the Sleeping King. Just that' he'll sleep here until his country needs him."
"How do I get there?" Elisa asked looking at the map wanting to find this king and wake him up.
"You would dare to wake this king, who knows what enchantments surround his hollow hill?" Kathrine questioned about what Elisa was planning.
"I will take you there, Guardian you must stay behind to help protect the others." The Magus stated to them.
They'd headed over to where there was a waterfall alongside some stone steps and the Magus began to walk up them to go into the hollowed out entrance and began to walk inside with Elisa following behind them. When they'd gotten close empty suits of armore that were standing there began to move to attack them.
"Armored warriors who would stay upon the winds of yesterday, you have discharged your promise bold. So sleep you now, grow still, grow cold!" The Magus called making the armor fall apart and he'd grunted dropping to his knees breathing heavily.
"I thoguht you lost your magic?" Elisa questioned the Magus about how he'd managed to get rid of the armor.
"That I did, centuries ago. But magic is the life blood of Avalon, especially in this hollowed hill. My training makes it possible for me to tap into the source." The Magus explained while leaning on his staff to hold himself upright "But without a conduite like the Grimorum it is very hard. I doubt I could do it again."
Elisa nodded and began to walk to the king stating "Rest now, you've done more than enough." when the bridge broke at the end causing her to have to back up.
"Elisa it is a leap of faith, trust yourself!" The Magus called out to her and she'd nodded taking a deep breath backing up before getting a running start and jumping landing on the other side turning to see that the end of the bridge has returned. The stone slab moved down to the point that it was only the size of a normal bed with Elisa then walking over seeing a man in armor there and takes a deep breath before speaking "Arthur Pendragon, King of all Brittain, you are needed."
A glittering energy appeared around the man that was sleeping there and Elisa backed up watching as red swirling energy appeared and shot around the room with the glittering energy wrapping itself around the man and he'd opened his eyes revealing they were deep blue in danger.
We then cut back to the castle as Goliath had the few weapons that they managed to grab sitting on the table as Elisa and the Magus opened the doors allowing the man who was on the slab to walk in to speak with the others.
"I take it you had more luck than we did." Goliath stated seeing the third person with them and Elisa nodded.
"Thanks to the Magus, Demona and Macbeth are dangerous warriors. We needed a warrior who could outclass them both, we needed King Arthur." Elisa stated gesturing to the man that was now standing behind them.
"This is all very flattering, but would someong please kindly tell me.. what is going on?" The man, King Arthur, questioned about what exactly had been happening right now.
Sometime later after explaining everything to King Arthur about what happened to them Kathrine questions "Will you help us?"
"Oh, you have awakend me early. I have not Excalibur, Caliburn, or my knights, not to mention my old friend Merlin. But it is clear you have a great need I will do whatever I can to help you." Answered back the King stating that he would agree to help however he could.
"The warriors that were with the Archmage, they've been spotted in the Orchard." Gabriel called coming into the room.
"This could work in our favor, come sunrise there'll be too few of us." King Arther stated saying it may be a blessing while looking at Tom and Gabriel stating "You two look like able boddied knights, and this brave woman has faced these villains before. I will lead them against the advanced party."
"The Archmage will have to face me in battle." Goliath stated putting his hand on King Arthur's shoulder vollunteering to go.
"I will go with you to ensure it reamains a fair fight." Angela offered to them stating she wanted to go with Goliath while picking up one of the weapons that they'd managed to get.
"I will handle the Weird Sisters." The Magus stated to them choosing to face them himself this time.
"The rest of you must stay and tend to the wounded." Arthur told the others that remained about staying to protect everyone.
"They will not harm My Eggs again." Katherine stated protectively, putting an emphasis on when she said MY. "I prosmie ye that."
"When you fight Macbeth, try to appeal to his morality. He seemed to have a sense of honor the last time we fought against one another." Goliath stated to Arthur who nodded in response.
Goliath had gone to fight the Archmage who used his newfound power to zap him stating "I have waited a milennia for this you know that?"
"Keep waiting." A voice alled as something blasted the Archmage in the back that shot through to the font and caused him to drop to his knees before breaking apart into ashes and blowing away in the wind.
"A hamunculous, so then real Archmage did die all those years ago." Gargoyle spoke about what he'd seen with Angela coming over holding a blaster and helping Goliath up.
When the Archmage went, both Demona and Macbeth vanished into thin air presumably returning to wherever they were before this whole thing started surprising the rest of the people on Avalon while the Weird Sisters screamed out in frustration as the Magus managed to best them creating chains to bind their power forcing them to retreat once more.
Everyone had rushed to see what happend to the Magus when he didn't rejoin the others and discovered him laying on the clan where Katherine says "Lie still now Magus, you've done enough. We'll get you back to the palace where you can get better."
"No, I think I shall like to stay here. I'm so very tired, I would like to rest now." He'd told them about not being able to leave now.
"Rest now, and may you rise to the highest place in paradice for your bravery." Arthur told the Magus who smiled sofly before dropping his head onto the pillow no longer able to keep going and passing away peacefully now that everyone was safe.
Later Goliath had been shaking hands with Gabriel after everything was said and done and they were about to leave with Angela stating "Goliath, I have a question, well, two questions really. The others had taken notice that we shared similar appearances, and.." She'd spoken not able to find the right words.
Elisa just gave Goliath a look that basically was stating I told you so without actually saying it and he sighed in response to that knowing she was smug about being right when it came to that. "Angela, it is the Gargoyle way to look upon all of the elders as your parents. However if you must know, no other gargoyles beides us from the Castle Wyvern clan shares our traits. I am, not sure how to act as a father should."
"You'll figure it out." Elisa stated to Goliath telling him that he could manage figuring out how to be a father before turning to King Arthur stating "Y'know the world has changed beyond what you may recongize."
"I believe you lass, but I believe I should travel and explore this new world. But on my own, it will be a bit less conspicuous that way." King Arthur answered back going to leave in one of the boats.
Goliath began to laugh hearing that and responds "Well, if you ever find yourself on an Island called Manhattan look up my clan." and when Arthur nodded they'd waved goodbye letting him leave off on his own to explore the world.
