Gargoyles: Stone By Night Season 02 Episode 06
Goliath and the others had not yet left the shores of Avalon as the sun had rose before they could do so. The next night Gabriel had questioned aboug Goliath's history, and so he'd decided to stay, though only long enough to explain the history of the Avalon Clan's parentage to them and the history of their parents' Clan that came before them.
While he'd been explaining things the ground had started to rise up like a platform as lightning had struck it with a blue man with pointed ears appeared alongside a green woman with pointed ears and pink hair. The Weird Sisters had appeared in front of them as well while glaring over at the others.
"You see my lord, we spoke truth. Humans and Gargoyles dare to profane your kingdom." The Weird Sisters spoke as if they were probably some sort of hive mind.
"A Minor nusance, but all the same they will have to go." The man stated gesturing over at the humans and Gargoyles that were there.
"If that pair are keeping compant with those three screeching owls I'm not about to trust them." Tom stated moving the faceplate of his armor down to cover his face and walking over to speak with them stating "Your companions we already know, to our sorrow. Sir and lady declare yourselves." whiel preparing to pull his sword.
"Are they not an insolent !" One of the Weird sisters began to state but was smacked in the head by a stone, surprisingly thrown by Elisa.
"Elisa.." Goliath spoke surprised that she'd do that to one of the weird sisters without any sort of hesittion.
"Sorry, but you can't blame us for being cautious." Elisa stated walking over with Tom to explain things. "I don't know what these three have told you but it's their fault that the Magus is no longer with us.
"No longer with you?" The blue haired man questioned looking at the group waiting for an explination.
"Aye, we sought Avalon as a place to be safe from the enemies that would see us dead and those three attacked us. The Magus redirected one of their spells so that we could get past, but he respected the laws of Avalon and left his spellbook behind to return to the world of man." Princess Kathrine stated to them about what happened.
"Years went by and eventually those three brought the Magus who's magic was not of avalon to get rid of us. The Magus battled the Weird Sisters so that we might remain safe on these shores, he did not survive." Tom then picked up where they left off.
"We are minded to be generous. I am Oberon, lord of the third race and ruler of Avalon. This is Lady Titania, our once and future Queen. We have returned to reclaim what was once our own." The man explained to them all about who he and the woman beside him are.
"I propose a contest, to see if you are worthy to stay." Titania suggested walking closer to the group slightly. "Should you my lord win, then I shall stand by your side once again."
"You would once more be my wife and wear my ring?" Oberon questioned hearing the proposed contest.
"Yes, and you who are merely my lord shall once again be my husband. But take heed, should they win and sound the knell of your defeat, some other ring must then be your reward." Titania answered back to Oberon's question.
"Very well, I shall hunt you three with my power deminished. Should I win you must all go back to the land of mortals, should I fail Avalon will now and forever be your home as long as you desire. I believe you three shall do." Oberon stated gesturing towards Goliath, Gabriel, and Angela.
"You have my thanks Lady Titania." Goliath spoke thanking her for giving them a chance to remain on the island.
"You are right to thank her while you can Gargoyle, accept the challenge or be cast out of Avalon forever." Oberon stated telling them they didn't have much choice if they wanted to stay.
"Not much of a choice. We accept your challenge." Gabriel responded since they didn't have any choice in the matter besides fighting and they'd like to avoid that if at all possible.
"Let the contest begin then. Avalon's lord be thou enchained, thy power to child's strength restrained. Until hunt be done and issue known this contest win by craft alone." Titana stated restraing Oberon's power.
"I shall grant you a few moments head start but be warned you will recieve no other favors from me." Oberon stated telling them to go ahead of him to start the contest and the trio of Gargoyles took off.
We see them gliding through the air to get away from Oberon with Gabriel stating "I don't like running from a fight." Gabriel stated about having to leave.
"Consider it a strategic withdrawl." Goliath stated to them as they were trying to keep putting distance between them and Oberon.
"Why? You heard what Titania said, Oberon's no stronger than a child now." Angela reminded them about what she'd heard.
"You hear, but you do not listen Angela. His power was reduced to that of a child of Oberon. He's still just as powerful as the Weird Sisters. And that's more than enough to give us trouble." Goliath explained about what the spell actually did.
"There must be some weakness that we can use." Angela stated trying to figure something out exactly.
"If we can survive long enough to learn what that is." Goliath agreed about what they could possibly do to stop Oberon.
Back with the others at the castle Oberon had been speaking to Titania about the contest taking place. "So my dear Titania the game is afoot soon Avalon will be mine again, and so will you." He'd stated and left to start the game.
"Can ye not stop this?" Katherine questioned looking over at Titania wishing that they could just stay and remain safe here.
"I have given your friends the best chance that I could. Can you do as much, wish them luck for all our sakes." Titana answered as she vanished with the weird sisters.
"Oberon didn't seem to thrilled when I pulled out my piece, though I've been bluffing because I've been out of bullets since the battle with the Weird sisters. Though I suppose Silver bullets would be needed." Elisa stated showing them the empty magazine.
"No, silver be the for vampires and werewolves. For the children cold Iron will do." Kathrine stated to them.
"Aye, Oberon's children have always been vulnerable to it. And Oberon himself as well." Tom explained a little more to Elisa.
"When Demona was using puck he had Iron Chains around him." Elisa stated about when she and Goliath had to face Puck.
"Yes, and the Magus faced the Weird Sisters he bound them by Iron Chains." Tom stated remembering that part about what happened.
"We should still have those chains, and a forge to change them into what we need. I believe I know the perfect shape we need to defeat Oberon, come on then. Everyone start looking for anything Iron you can find!" Katherine called out to the remaining Gargoyles taking charge and going to try to find where they put those chains with the rest of them starting to search around the castle.
They'd all gotten what they could and Tom was working the forge stating "That's what's left of the chians. I still think a sword makes more sense."
"Let us not argue, Titania herself gave us the clue. We have no choice but to trust her." Katherine stated in response to Tom wanting to make a sword.
"Right, no choice and only one chance." Tom stated continuing to work the forge in order to make whatever they were going to create to help defeat Oberon. They'd taken metal from the forge with the help of one of the Gargoyles of Avalon's Clan and poured it onto the stone ground once it was ready and says "Well we'll have our weapon soon."
"Buy what gives us the right to use it?" The Gargoyle questioned about what they were doing.
"Ophelia, we are protecting our family, our home. Oberon is"The rightful lord of Avalon."" Kathrine began to stated to the female Gargoyle, but she'd cut the princess off about it.
"And he's not an outside aggressor like the archmage." The female Gargoyle, Ophelia, answered back. "To him we're the invaders."
"Maybe, but he did abandon this place a thousand years ago. I think he gave up his rights to Avalon." Elisa stated in response to what she was saying.
"Unfortunately, I fear Lord Oberon does not see it that way." Tom stated using a tool to pick up the cooling metal and dipping it into the water to finish cooling before setting it onto an anvil and began to work on shaping it.
Oberon had appeared in the courtyard having defeated the three and calls out "The game is over. Your champions have lost."
"Not yet Oberon we still have one more play." Princess Katherine stated as they revealed they'd forged the iron into a bell and Tom began striking it with his sword just hard enough to make it ring causing Oberon to look as though he was in pain.
"Stop this, stop!" Oberon called unable to take the ringing as they'd moved closer causing him to drop to his knees in paint.
"One more should.. No. I'll kill no one on his knees." Tom stated putting his sword away and stopping the bell to quiet it's ringing.
Goliath had gotten up seeing this and offered to help Oberon up, which the man had accepted being helped up by the Gargoyle.
"Now the game is over Lord Oberon, the goal was never to defeat you, but to prove they are worthy to stay. I believe they've proven that they are." Lady Titania stated appearing to them.
"Yes, I believe they have. They could have obliterated me with that bell, yet chose not to. Such an act is worth rewarding. Let it be declared that I have lost this challenge, you and your kind may stay on Avalon for as long as you wish." Oberon agreed telling everyone that they can stay finally. "And henceforth Goliath, you and your clan shall be immune to my arts. And shall become the Honor Guard of Avalon from this day onward."
"I thank you my lord." Goliath spoke taking a slight bow hearing his words thanking him for such a gift.
"And now my gentle Titania, if I may have back what is mine." Oberon then spoke asking Titania to return his power to him once more.
"Take back your power with my blessing.. husband." Titania stated returning his power to him and he'd smiled a bit hearing that last part before kissing her hand.
"How did you know the bell would weaken him?" Goliath questioned Elisa about using a bell against Oberon.
"Titania gave us the clue, she told us to ring the knell of his defeat." Elisa answered back as Titania had walked over to speak with them as Oberon was happily chatting away with some of the Gargoyles in the background.
"You have nothing to fear from my husband, on Avalon Oberon's word is law." Titania answered about trusting Oberon.
"Does that mean he's always right?" Princess Katherine questioned about Oberon and his word being law.
"Not while he's married." Titania answered back which had made Elisa chuckle a bit since it sounded exactly the same as her parents were in their marriage.
"Well, now that matteres are settle here, let's go home shall we?" Goliath spoke saying they should finally return back to Manhattan.
