The characters and the plots belong to Dolphinheart99, who wrote the entire original story, and to their respective owners. I got authorization from Dolphinheart99 to take some elements of her stories. I therefore own nothing, minus the names of my OCs. And for anyone wondering why, I explicitely asked for Dolphinheart99's consent to pick up elements of her stories and adapt them with mine, as I did with DieHardBrendan with his.

After waiting at the staging area while prepping her equipement, Ava finally got word to move alongside the rest of C Company to the vehicles, which were going to drive them to the fictional war zone, where they were to dismount and fight on foot, since the vehicles would be accompanying the French and British troops part of exercise Orion. Ava pulled her blank-firing M27 rifle and checked her MILES laser gear during the travel before the convoy stopped a few hours later.
Upon hearing the signal from the French Army gunner, Ava and the rest of her squad dismounted the VAB armored personel carrier before wasting no time and securing the landing site, just as French vanguard forces linked up with them. Thanks to accurate maps and GPS coordinates, the forces had managed to surround the enemy in just a few building, even if the combined French-German-Dutch-Belgian-British-Portuguese-Canadian-Spanish forces were seven times larger than the enemy forces. But the US Marines knew never to underestimate their enemy.
Ava took the lead as she was the scout of her squad thanks to her excellent eyesight and walked first while keeping her eyes open. The rest of the squad followed her, with the rest of C Company walking within safety distance on both sides of the street. Suddenly, Ava pointed her M27 rifle and fired it just before a black-dressed French soldier, who had been playing an Arnland soldier, fell "dead". Of course he was playing the part, but the training was so realistic that civilians often stopped to watch the Allied personel train.
At Joe's bar, Owen and his fiancée peaked out of the window and saw none other than Ava inspecting the Arnland soldier she just shot by first taking his blank-firing AK-47 rifle and removing the magazine before expertly emptying the barrel. Ava then put the AK rifle on a bench next to her before taking several pieces of equipment, including a cell phone, a radio with an earpiece and several notebooks. She knew searching bodies for intelligence was good, but she wanted to catch an enemy soldier and interrogate him since it was a better source of intelligence.
Joe, Cameron, and the young hipsters, who happened to have introduced themselves as Anna Oliphant, Bridgette Sanderwick, Lola, Isla, Rashmi Devi, Meredith Chevalier, Toph, Etienne Saint-Clair, Cricket, Josh and Dave, also saw Ava searching the dead-playing enemy soldier before giving a thumb's up sign to her fellow US Marines and going into the bar, leaving French and other European allies in charge of occupying the buildings, which they promptly did after harsh firefights during which people could even hear shell casings falling out of the weapons.
Ava suddenly kicked the door open and shot two enemy soldiers before they could even react. One of Ava's fellow US Marines cleared the rest of the bar and fired blanks after blanks before Ava went for the stairs. She then aimed upwards and walked sideways before suddenly firing off several shots. She then kept walking up the staircase before stumbling upon enemy soldiers, who were promptly shot by one US Marine behind Ava. As the US Marines announced the building was cleared, German and French soldiers occupied it while British and Portuguese ones occupied the building opposite the street.
Ava and her squad then climbed onto the rooftop under covering fire from vehicles and troops below before walking onto the tiles with her rifle pointed forward. Suddenly, Ava found the window on the top of Barry's restaurant. She promptly opened it wide open before tossing a stun grenade inside. The grenade went off, allowing Ava to safely enter the building and eliminate the two hostiles inside before other US Marines followed suit. Ava and another US Marine then performed room-to-room fighting similar to what was seen in Mossul or Mariupol before arriving in front of Kayden and Barry's counter. Only to see the other buildings in the area being cleared by allied forces, which were just as competent as the US Marines were.
Meanwhile, Owen and Claire saw their niece, Valentina, dressed in girl scout uniform, and her friends passing by, bedazzled by the heavily armed vehicles and soldiers in the streets. The young girl then saw her cousin Ava and other US troops coming onto the sidewalk and running across the street. The US forces then began inquiring soldiers from Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands about how to take the target building.
"Can we go across?" Ava's commanding officer asked.
"Nope. The Arnland forces and militias have it locked down. They're refusing to surrender and threatening to kill civilians inside. We can't get through." A French officer explained.
"Well, lead the way. We'll clean the rest for you." The American officer said.
"Thank you. We'll take the top floors with you. The others, take the bottom part of the building." The French officer said.
"Got it. No problemo, Señor!" The Spanish officer answered.
With that said, Ava, her squad and the other forces stormed the building with minimal losses thanks to Ava's thinking of using a smoke screen to mask the Coalition's moves. Once past the smoke screen, the US Marines and their allies engaged in a close-quarter battle reminiscent of the battles of Saint-Lô or Aachen during the Second World War. This included simulated stabbing, simulated injuries and headbuts. Ava didn't even hesitate to kick or punch before using her M27 to great effect. The young woman then carefully went upstairs with her rifle shouldered and ready to fire, followed by several US Marines on her side while French soldiers took the other side of the stairwell. The Spanish and Dutch soldiers took the bottom levels of the building as promised.
Meanwhile, Owen and his niece were playing thumb wrestling while Claire was chatting with Cameron about family and Owen in particular. Cameron was all too eager to tell Claire Owen's responsible behavior during their teenagehood as well as Ava's own patriotism. But Cameron also told about Ava's mother's tragic death. Claire therefore learned that Ava's mother, named Marie, met Owen in Bosnia when the former worked as a French embedded journalist. Owen and Marie had a happy life with Ava until Marie got rolled over by a drunk driver when Ava was a child. Claire was now reassured since both Owen and Cameron also revealed to her that Ava had no problem with Claire being the US Marine's stepmother.
