One Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 737-800 later, and the six French students were at Shizuoka International Airport. Naturally, having never been to Japan before, Adrien, Marinette, Luka and Mireille were wowed by the sights and sounds. Chloé, however, was uninterested. In her opinion, the whole experience was beneath her. Now that they'd gotten their luggage and gone through the passport controls, there remained one question…
"Who were we supposed to meet, and where?" asked Adrien.
Marinette stroked her chin. "The papers didn't say who, but they said to meet him at the lobby, and that we'd know him when we saw him."
Chloé gave a dismissive hand flap. "Ugh, who cares who it is? They're probably some lame nobody!"
"Excuse me, are you the six exchange students I've been assigned to care for?"
The six of them stopped when they saw who'd addressed them: a thin blond man with sunken black eyes and wild, spiky hair. He wore a dark gray suit with a red tie and black leather dress shoes.
Marinette nodded. "Y-yes. Who are you?"
"Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Toshinori Yagi, formerly the #1 pro hero known as All Might. I work as a teacher at UA now, and the staff has charged me with transporting you to the school. May I please get your names?"
The six exchange students gave their names. All Might smiled.
"Pleased to meet all of you."
All Might bowed before them, and they returned the gesture.
"Let's not waste any time. The car's waiting."
All Might led the six students out to the car, a black 1972 Cadillac Series 75 limo. Naturally, All Might took the wheel, while the students piled into the back.
"A limo?" said Chloé. "Well, at least they know how to treat guests around here."
"They sure do!" said Adrien.
"I know!" said Marinette. "I'm so excited to see this school!"
Luka put a hand on Marinette's shoulder. "You and me both."
"I've never been to UA, but I've heard much about it, and it's the top hero school in Japan," said Kagami. "Some of the world's best heroes have gone to that school."
"Really?" said Mireille. "I can't wait to check it out!"
"Quit gushing over this place, losers!" said Chloé. "Those students probably have some pathetic Quirks anyways."
Marinette shook her head. "I dunno, I know a thing or two about All Might, and I heard that he was once considered the world's greatest hero."
"Indeed I was," said All Might. "However, all of that changed during a fateful battle with the villain known as All For One. I managed to defeat him temporarily, but I lost my stomach, and half of my respiratory organs were destroyed. Because of this, my ability to use my powers was reduced, and I could only use them for so many hours each day, until finally, after defeating All For One again, my powers were used up completely, and I retired from hero work. However, I haven't lost all hope in the world, for I know that UA is working to cultivate a new generation of heroes, heroes who – I might add – have already proven their worth."
Everyone except Chloé was spellbound by this story.
"Wow…" said Adrien. "That…that was a powerful story. I wonder who's #1 now…"
"Unofficially, the #1 hero is a man named Enji Todoroki, better known under his hero name 'Endeavor'," said All Might. "His youngest son is a student at UA."
"Wait…why would you tell us his identity?" said Marinette.
"Wouldn't that put him in danger?" said Mireille.
"Mireille's right," said Kagami. "Where we're from, hero identities are kept secret."
"Things are different here," said All Might. "All pro heroes are part of a government registry, so the concept of secret identities is something of a moot point. Nevertheless, we'll take precautions to ensure that your identities are kept secret back home. We've made arrangements with the French government to do so."
Everyone nodded.
Eventually, All Might and the six Parisians reached UA. After getting out of the car, the six students were brought to the office of Principal Nezu, who welcomed them with open arms:
"Hello, and welcome to UA High School, Japan's premier school for future heroes! I am Principal Nezu, the leader of this academy. Now then, please step forth one at a time and introduce yourselves."
The six Parisians stepped forward as Nezu instructed and bowed before him.
"It's an honor to meet all of you! UA has played host to special guests from all around the world, and it makes me feel proud knowing that I'm a part of that. Now then, before you get started, I've cobbled together special starter packs containing all of the items you will need for your stay here at UA. First among them is your school uniform, which you will be required to wear for the duration of your school day. Second is your gym tracksuit, which you will be required to wear during training exercises on school grounds. Third, we have provided all the necessary textbooks and school supplies that you will need for your hero classes. Finally, we have also provided you with the official UA guidebook, which contains all of the rules and regulations that you are to follow while you are students here. Please take the guidebooks and study them carefully."
"Ugh, do we REALLY need to follow a bunch of silly rules while we're here?" said Chloé.
"Well, the school in your home country has rules that you must follow, does it not?"
Chloé gave a dismissive hand flap. "Hmph, I guess!"
"Then would it not also make sense for you to study our rules so that you, your fellow guests and the students and staff of UA can go about their business in a safe and respectful manner?"
Chloé stared at Principal Nezu. Then, she sighed.
"Fine."
"Good, I'm glad you see things our way!"
Chloé rolled her eyes. It was going to be a long few days.
Eventually, the students of UA got called down to the auditorium. The six Parisians were seated on stage, and various faculty members were present as well. Already, the Parisian students were dressed in the typical fall/winter variant of the UA school uniform, each of which consisted of a gray suit jacket with bluish-green piping and shoulder straps, a white button-down shirt for the boys and a white blouse for the girls, a red necktie – the girls' ties having a single gold button on the top of the tie – and dark bluish-green pants for the boys and a dark bluish-green pleated skirt for the girls. UA's enforcement of footwear regulations was lax, for the six of them were wearing whatever shoes they typically wore. Heck, their enforcement of uniform regulations was lax in general, for not only did Chloé refuse to wear a tie with her uniform, but the collar of her blouse was undone as well. Regardless, a loud murmur filled the auditorium as the UA students discussed the Françoise Dupont students and how they fit right in with their school uniforms. Then, Principal Nezu stepped up to the podium and did his bit:
"Ladies, gentlemen, and those outside the gender binary, we are gathered here today for an occasion unlike any other. Seated behind me is a delegation of six students hailing from Françoise Dupont High School in Paris, France, who have joined us thanks to the International Hero Trainee Exchange Program. It gives me great honor to have these students joining us, and it is my sincere hope that not only will this visit foster closer relations between Japan and France, but among the hero community in general. Now, without further ado, why don't we let these students introduce themselves?"
Adrien was the first to step up to the podium:
"Hello, everyone! My name is Adrien Agreste, better known…"
Adrien was interrupted by a collective loud gasp from many of the female students, who were only too excited to learn that the Adrien Agreste was going to UA:
"OH MY DAMN CHERRY BLOSSOMS!*" exclaimed Ashido. "I can't believe ADRIEN AGRESTE is actually going to our school!"
Hagakure bounced around excitedly. "This is swoony to infinite power!"
Uraraka blushed as she clasped her hands to the side of her head. "Pinch me! I must be dreaming!"
Momo Yaoyorozu reacted similarly: "If this is a dream, I don't wanna wake up from it!"
Kyoka Jiro, however, was more realistic about the whole thing:
"Get over yourselves, girls! I get you're excited and all, but we should be treating him like a normal student and not some modern-day Adonis!"
"I'm with Kyoka," said Tsu. "I don't get the excitement either, ribbit."
Deko was blushing. "I don't either, but I don't care!"
Principal Nezu intervened and made a gentle pushing motion: "All right, all right, settle down! I've heard of Adrien Agreste before too, but we have to remember that he is a student here as well, and we shouldn't treat him any differently because of his fame!"
"Nezu's right," said Adrien. "Besides, I'm already spoken for! Sorry, ladies!"
The girls let out a dejected "awww" as the furor died down, while Adrien continued his bit:
"Anyways, I'm better known as 'Cat Noir', and with the Cat Miraculous, I have the power of 'Cataclysm', which allows me to destroy whatever I touch. Thank you for having me here!"
Everyone cheered for Adrien, who stepped back and let Marinette – who tripped on her way to the podium – do her bit next:
"Heya, everyone! I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng, better known as 'Ladybug'! With the Ladybug Miraculous, I have the power of 'Lucky Charm', which allows me to materialize an object that'll help me to defeat whatever villain I'm facing. I hope to meet all of you and learn new things, too, so…long live Miraculous!"
The students cheered for Marinette, and Kagami stepped up next:
"Konnichiwa, UA gakusei no minasan. I am Kagami Tsurugi, better known as 'Ryuko'. With the Dragon Miraculous, I have the powers of 'Wind Dragon', 'Water Dragon' and 'Lightning Dragon', each of which allows me to transform into wind, water and lightning respectively. I am honored to be able to return to my birthplace of Japan, and I hope that all of you will receive me warmly."
Kagami did get a warm reception from the UA students, as evidenced by the applause they gave her. Then, it was Chloé's turn next:
"What's up, losers? I'm Chloé Bourgeois, aka 'Queen Bee', and I'm better than all of you!"
Chloé's less than friendly introduction elicited collective booing from the UA students in addition to less than friendly retorts:
"How dare you call us 'losers'!?" exclaimed Deko.
"YEAH, HOW DO WE KNOW YOU'RE NOT ONE!?" yelled Kacchan.
"Why don't ya go back to where ya came from!?" said Denki Kaminari.
"Yeah, we don't need your snotty attitude here!" said Jiro.
Faced with the possibility of a riot, Nezu attempted to restore order:
"Students, I understand your anger, but may we please be more civilized? We have guests here, after all."
The students continued booing and cussing out Chloé. It was this unrelenting anarchy that inspired Aizawa to step up and try his way:
"Attention, students: I don't like Miss Bourgeois' attitude any more than you, but if you can't be quiet and courteous, then I'll ensure that every last one of you gets expelled. Are we clear?"
The threat of expulsion got everybody to calm down. Satisfied with this, Aizawa turned to Chloé next:
"Now then, Miss Bourgeois, I believe you owe these students an apology."
Chloé sighed. "Fine."
"And don't give me any more attitude. I could break you, you know."
Chloé stepped back up to the podium. "Sorry, everyone. Now then, with the Bee Miraculous, I have the power of Venom, which allows me to temporarily immobilize a target. Now if you'll excuse me, I wasted too much time here."
Chloé stepped down and let Luka go next:
"Hey everyone! I'm Luka Couffaine, better known as 'Viperion'! With the Snake Miraculous, I have the power of Second Chance, which allows me to mark a specific moment in time and allow me to travel back after five minutes have passed. I'm really excited to be here, and I hope all of you are excited to have me!"
Luka got his fair share of applause as well, and finally, it was Mireille's turn to shine:
"Hello there! My name is Mireille Tsurugi-Caquet, better known as 'Super Squirrel'! With the Squirrel Miraculous, I have the power of Energy Spike, which temporarily grants me the power of super speed, both for moving and attacking. I'm Kagami's half-sister, by the way."
Like everyone who wasn't Chloé, Mireille got a healthy round of applause. Overall, the six exchange students from Françoise Dupont High – except Chloé – were gladly looking forward to whatever adventures and friendships awaited them.
