A.N. — Today's birthday character had their drabble written long ago. Very few of these came to me fully-formed, in that I hit right around 100 words in the first jotting and was pleased with what I'd written. This was one of those. Happy birthday to the dragon lady herself, Ryuko Tatsuma!

265. Ryuko Tatsuma/Ryukyu

Ryukyu blurred the line between myth and reality. Were-creatures used to be the stuff of folktales, but here she was, a top 10 pro lauded for her ability to shift from a femme fatale heroine to an equally-lethal creature of lore. Awe followed in her footsteps, and resisting the temptation to bask in adoration had grown wearying.

Ryuko wasn't some deity; she was just as (super) human as any other quirked person, and just as fallible, too. But if the populace was going to put her on a pedestal, she'd damn well do her best to deserve it.
