The Future's Young Fingerprint
Snowpoint City, Sinnoh. 27th July 2023. 8:09am.
"Why did we have to get up so early?" May whined, as she yawned and rubbed her sleepy eyes awake. Drew turned to her and sighed, a little drowsy himself. "Because we have to leave to Larousse as soon as possible," he reminded her before he went back to packing. Zoey entered the room.
"Hey, you guys wanna eat breakfast?" she asked. May's eyes lit up as her stomach growled, yearning for the food missing in her belly. "Yes please!"
Drew came down a few minutes later, a olive green travel backpack on his back. He looked at the table and turned to Zoey. "Hey, can I have some…" he trailed off as he peeked behind her and watched May scarf down pancakes messily. He glanced away from her, wincing. "Never mind, I think I lost my appetite anyway," he walked towards the couch and sprawled on it, trying to recover from May's traumatizing eating habits. All of a sudden, a baby's cry rang out. Older Dawn, who had been awake for a while now, shushed Belle as she paced around the living room, rocking the baby.
A few minutes later, her bluenette daughter was still sobbing, so she excused herself and Older Paul as they went into their room so that Older Dawn could breastfeed their daughter.
A long fifteen minutes later, Older Dawn finally popped her head out of her room as she came out, carrying her daughter who was now sleeping peacefully
"Okay, so," she started. "we're leaving in an hour. Any ideas as to how we're supposed to get on a ferry to Larousse without you guys getting caught for not having I.D, or being chased by Aqua or Rocket grunts?" she asked, genuinely lost.
Leaf tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Well, last time, we hid in the trunk of Max's car for a couple days. We could do that again," she suggested, as Older Dawn looked horrified. She whipped her head to face Older Max and Older Bonnie. "Seriously? You left these children in the trunk of your car? For a couple days?" she asked in disbelief and anger. Older Max huffed. "Let's see you trying to come up with a better idea."
And that's why, fifty minutes later, they were heading out to the pier, as the teens were trying to fit themselves into suitcases, separated from each other in two different cars.
Gary turned to Leaf pleadingly. "Leafy, can you please help me? I can't get into this stupid bag! Plus, it smells like shit!" he whined, clinging onto her waist as she tried to get rid of him. Then, she sighed. "Fine. I'll help you." she said finally, as Gary screamed gleefully. "But, I can't do anything about the smell. Sorry." she apologized in a slightly sarcastic tone. Gary nodded as he got into the back. He closed his eyes as he waited for her soft touch. "Ouch!" he yelped as Leaf practically shoved him into the bag. "What the fuck?"
Leaf smirked. "Hey, you're the one who asked me to help." she threw her hands up to show innocence. Gary groaned.
"Guys, we're here!"
Everyone zipped up the suitcases, closing their eyes and halting their breathing, slightly, as they heard the car hood open. Then, it closed. They cheered silently.
Misty was celebrating happily in her head, when suddenly, she felt like she was being lifted up into the air. She panicked slightly, before remembering what the plan was.
A few minutes later, light was finally visible, and Misty covered her eyes a little, trying to adjust to the overly bright light. She stepped out of her suitcase, seeing as all of her friends were already out. Ash's face lit up. "Hey Mist!" She smiled at him tiredly. "Hi."
The door groaned slightly as it opened, as the twelve teens whipped around to see who was at the door.
"Thank you all for your support! We really appreciate it! Uh, we'll be back as soon as Belle leaves for her own journey. WHAT?! NO! I'm sorry, we have to go, no more questions please, thank you." The door then closed as they saw Older Dawn, her husband, and her daughter breathe a sigh of relief. Max looked at them, curious. "What happened?" Older Paul slid down the door, panting. "Press." he said simply.
Drew made a face. "Why?"
Older Dawn sighed tiredly. "Oh. Right. They don't know." Then, she turned to Older Bonnie. "Tell them." she ordered as she too slid down the door with her daughter in hand. Older Bonnie cleared her throat.
"They're famous, is all."
The room gasped loudly, as chatter broke out among the group. "Why?" Dawn asked, turning to Older Bonnie. Older Max answered for her. "You guys are the ex-Sinnoh Champion and the best Pokéstylist in Sinnoh along with two time Top Coordinator." he explained as Dawn and Paul's eyes widened.
"Really?"
"Mhm."
"Awesome!" "Cool."
Older Max smiled. The ship suddenly rocked to the left, causing the group to slide roughly to the left. Older Dawn's grip on her daughter loosened, and she screamed. "Belle!" she called. "Mommy!" the one- year old screamed as she let go of her mother, flying towards the open window. Before she could though, a hand came and pulled her away and into the room.
Older Dawn breathed a sigh of relief, ready to thank the person. "Hey, thank…" she trailed off.
A boy with ruffled light brown hair handed her the baby, who was now crying. He looked at them with wide viridian eyes. "Get out of here, now!" he urged.
The group exchanged looks before nodding and following the strange boy. As they got all settled in his boat, Older Dawn turned to him. "Oh and uh, thank you for saving my daughter earlier. But um, who are you?" she asked. The boy's eyes glossy as he went to hug Dawn. "Aunt Dawn!" he yelled, relieved. Older Dawn patted his back awkwardly as he pulled back. He took a deep breath. "The rockets are out to get you." he explained seriously. "We need to get to Larousse as soon as possible."
Older Max butt in. "Who are you though?" he asked. The boy took a deep breath. Should he tell them the truth?
