"Tea?" She grabbed the kettle out of the automatic tea maker and walked over. She poured some over for herself before hearing an answer. Despite the somber atmosphere, this felt like a genuine caring gesture.
"Half a cup is fine." Mina forced a smile as her cup was filled. Drinking it could help put her shaking hands to rest. Although, the encroaching weight of reality would not be as easily deterred. At least she was given enough time to get dressed, facing this situation naked would be doubly embarrassing.
Uraraka sat down next to her on the kotatsu. She slid her legs beneath the table portion, partaking in the warmth. Her pretty eyelashes fluttered up and down with her eye movements as she drank with them closed. Being this close made her features stand out more. Cute round cheeks with a slight tinge of pink. Clear skin like that of a model, without any makeup whatsoever. Finished by those big round orbs which simultaneously opened with her last sip. This is who she was ripping him off of, this pure ball of beauty. Her heart sunk at the thought. Uraraka sighed from across her.
"So, how did things get here?" No anger, no resentment, not even disappointment. An expression of cautious curiosity directed at a relationship wrecker. Mina didn't deserve this treatment, she expected a shouting match, an argument, some tears even. This treatment was far more unnerving and off putting.
She told Uraraka everything. Going from how she found him crying under the rain until their unfortunate meeting from earlier, every detail was laid bare. During the explanation, there was no interruptions, no angry outburst, no outraged lip biting, nothing. The girlfriend across from her sat in silence taking everything in, occasionally drinking tea out of the cup. Mina's heart, on the other hand, was on the cusp of bursting out of her chest. Once she was done, the room became silent once more. Then broken up by an audible sigh.
"I knew it, it's my fault.." Huh? What was she on about? Anybody listening to this would place the blame on the pinky, not on themselves. Why is she…? "I warped his perception of sex." Uraraka set the cup down on the kotatsu, her eyebrows shifted to a saddened position.
"Your… fault….?" Mina's gaze widened, she looked down at her half empty drink. She gripped the container hard, the liquid within shifted about. Her mind unable to compartmentalize the feelings that seeped in.
"Yeah… I took him for myself… disregarded the class's feelings … then hurt him because I was selfish and inexperienced." This girl, why was she doing this?! Nothing she did was wrong. Mina was the intruder here, the bad actor, not her. "It makes sense he accepted your proposal when I broke the dynamic-" She was cut off by a loud 'bang' sound from across her as Mina's hands slammed onto the table portion.
"Why… aren't you mad at me?" Mina looked down at her own legs, the top of her hair was facing the brunette. She was shaking in restrained anger.
"Huh? Like I said the originator of the problem is–" Uraraka was again cut off by another loud sound, this time a shout from the girl before her.
"No matter how you look at it, I'm to blame!" With an outstretched neck and an aggressive posture, Mina shouted at her face to face. Tears now streaking down her cheeks, coming out of widened eyes. The cup below her toppled over and spilled onto the table, then onto the floor.
"Mina… I…" She struggled to come up with an answer to the outburst. The vulnerability shown by her friend taking her completely off guard, derailing her train of thought.
"Urara, you're too nice. You can't bring yourself to be angry at me." Mina stood up silently. She rearranged the cup and cleaned the floor with a nearby napkin. Some sniffles escaped her, clearly she still cried. A mixture of anger and sadness directed at both herself and the girlfriend bubbled up to the surface. "I'll stay away from him. He deserves someone who's not an asshole." She drew blood biting on her own lip whilst preparing to walk away.
"Don't do that!" Uraraka shouted from below, standing up in a fit of adrenaline. Her eyebrows furrowed before she resumed speaking "You're disregarding your own feelings! You like Deku don't you!" The pinky snapped her body back to her direction, her tears flowing down in seething rage.
"What is wrong with you?!" Her expression soured intensely, now fully representing the inner turmoil which spawned from this conversation. "He's your boyfriend! Why are you worried about me?!" Mina's anger was directed at herself, yet she let it out towards the cutesy girl in front of her. The lack of indignation from Uraraka fueled her ire.
"So?! I don't control him or his feelings!" She stepped in closer, inches away from the other girl. Their noses almost touched with their animated way of speaking. "It hurts, hurts a lot, but if he's not happy with me, who am I to stop him?!" Uncontrollable tears now dripped out of Uraraka, clearly this situation had affected her. However, her calm demeanor had done well to hide this.
"You should be mad! Hit me! Be angry! Do something…!" Their voices had raised exponentially as the conversation dragged on. Enough that they could be heard around some parts of the dorm. "You're just handing him over?! I shattered your first relationship!" Her countenance went from mad to pained, her initial outraged emotions morphing into disgust.
"Guys… what's going on?" A sleepy voice appeared from the hallway. Some floating pajamas came into view as Hagakure peeked around the corner. "Why are you shouting?" She visibly yawned, her arm sleeves raising above her head.
"If Deku is happy, then you didn't shatter anything." Uraraka didn't acknowledge the new presence in the room. She went on with the topic at hand. "No matter what you do or say, I won't budge and I will not resent you." A stern face stared directly at Mina. Unmovable, unbreakable and resilient.
More tears from both sides. She could not begin to understand the thought process, someone should be mad at her. Mina wanted to punch her but also hug her at the same time. Why was she so weirdly difficult to deal with? If she had gotten angry or depressed and condemned her, then that would be that. The alternative, which was now in effect, became much more daunting. Add on that Tooru had listened to the latter part of their shouting match, this was beyond what she was ready for. As such, the pinky covered her mouth and stormed off through the dorm's front door.
Watching what seemed like a love quarrel from the sidelines, Tooru was awfully confused. She gathered that this was about Izuku, but the fact that Mina was there was confusing. However, considering how heated things seemed, it probably stemmed from something physical that happened between them. If so, then this matter became quite easy. Uraraka, a few seconds removed from the other girl leaving, sat on a nearby couch. She scrubbed the ever continually flowing tears from her face. With a growing heartache, the invisible girl approached her.
"Oh.. uh… hey Tooru." Through rivers of emotions, Uraraka noticed floating pajamas walking over. "Sorry you uh… had to see that." Counter to her caring words, the waterworks refused to stop coming down.
Tooru silently sat down next to her, then began to rub the crying girl's back supportively. This only increased the brunette's overflowing sensations as some hyperventilation intertwined with her continuous weeping.
"I spoke so confidently….I want everyone to be happy… but I…" Nothing more needed to be said for her doubts plastered upon her face. Perhaps if she were different, less of a pleaser, more simple a person, dealing with this would have been far easier.
As everything unfolded, the other half of the conundrum reappeared. He'd been told to wait inside Mina's room as the two girls had a private convo. His anxiety began eating away at his psyche around the thirty minute mark. He began pacing around the room, intently looking at the dirty sheets, looking to escape from this scary predicament. Why did he say yes? Why did he go through with it? Why did he, Izuku Midoriya, shamelessly fuck someone other than his girlfriend?
He racked his own brain, trying to pick up on anything that could answer his questions. He wasn't blind, sure Mina was attractive but were that the sole reason, then he probably would have never entertained the idea of their 'secret lessons'. Her kindness was outstanding, he wasn't sure anyone else would've handled their first talk together as well as she did. Yet, this sole factor couldn't have been it. Her flirty smile maybe, although regarding appearances, there was no lack of good looking people in class. Her piercing eyes, deceptively voluptuous body, way of speaking, sensual voice, proactive personality and… oh. He liked every bit of hers, much like how he liked everything about Uraraka five months prior. Much like when she confessed, his heart beat fastened at this realization. Some screams then became audible from the common hall. Rightfully worried, Izuku opened the door and made his way over.
"Uraraka…" Everywhere around her eyes was red, like her tear ducts were dried out. Beside her was a certain invisible girl who rubbed up and down, a hand placed on Uraraka's back. "I…" He reached his hand out but stopped himself from getting any closer. A thunderous leer halting him in his tracks.
"Deku…!" A slap was definitely coming. His girlfriend stood up, steam almost pouring out of her body. That same look she has when doing Gunhead martial arts was plastered across her face. She was now inches away, a hit that would sting more than any villain. "Go, she left through the front door." A hand was on him, just not on his face. Uraraka looked directly at the floor, her palm rested on Izuku's shoulder.
"Mina did… but you-" He was cut off by another hand covering his mouth. The girl below looked at him with a solemn expression, tears forming once more inside her round marbles.
"Go Deku, she needs you more than I do." A drop of blood hit the floor as Uraraka bit through her own lip. Evidently conflicted, she did her best to portray a sense of control. Although Izuku did pick up on her unease, he decided to follow her suggestion. Whatever her reasoning, she mustered up the resolve to break up so amicably. Disregarding her words at this point would mean disrespecting her entire emotional crescendo, throwing it to the side for his own selfish gain. Moreover, she was right to an extent. "You love Mina too, so go see her."
With that, she leaned in and planted one final kiss on his cheek. He wanted to say something back, but found no appropriate response. Whatever he could utter would probably end up further hurting them both. He conceded by giving her a hug, then making his way over to the dorm's entrance.
"Are you sure that's ok?" Tooru, the unfortunate witness to this whole thing, wondered from her sitting position as the other girl sat down.
"The truth hurts more, but it's the truth." She grabbed her empty cup and looked at it in silence before continuing. "It's better this way, he would've lied to himself if he stayed with me." She rubbed the circumference of the cup with her index finger. Uraraka couldn't help but reminisce with her boyfriend going back to being just a friend.
"Oh, it's raining." Tooru looked out the window behind them. Pellets of rain smacked against the glass and the faint sound of thunder boomed in the waning night. How fitting for a breakup.
Izuku sprinted outside, the cold downpour smacking against every inch of his body. Where would Mina have gone off to? He searched around whilst in Full Cowling, zipping around corners for any hint of the pinky. She was nowhere to be seen, not even the swimming pool showed results. He was not worried about getting sick, the thought hadn't even crossed his mind. The sexually prolific girl invaded his thoughts, he ignored anything not pertaining to her. All he wanted at this present moment was to hold her statuesque figure close to his body. A lightbulb then, the place they had met multiple times in. Behind the cafeteria building.
He ran at full speed, eventually arriving at the meeting place. Water crashed against the building at an angle, water droplets sliding against its side. There stood a drenched pink girl, her hair down to the shoulders, her tears indiscernible from the rain. A makeshift outfit hugging her frail emotions within.
"Mina!" Izuku waved above his head, the reduced visibility from the torrent beckoned him to do so. This earned a look of mixed terror and relief from the recipient, who stood under a dry portion to avoid the weather.
"Izu– Midori." Mina's eyes widened, shocked at who she saw approaching. "Why are you.." She answered her own question, he was here for her. Nothing more, nothing less.
"I found you." He made his way over to the covered portion, the rain no longer hitting the top of his head. No longer nervous after seeing that familiar face, he went in close. Their bodies were inches apart. "I am here." All Might's catchphrase, a good icebreaker.
"You should go back to Uraraka." Mina turned her head to the side, unable to look at him directly. Shame overcoming any other feeling she could have had. "I manipulated you, used your naivete for my own pleasure. I created a growing rift between you and her. I took advantage of your vulnerable state. I'm a nymphomaniac, I've been with more people than I care to admit. My curiosity hurts people, like I did to your relationship. I have no experience in romance yet I acted as an authority. I don't deserve you! You deserve someone better than….!" Warmth, one she felt before. A serene hug that looked for silence.
"Don't villainize yourself like that." He held her head to his upper chest, her drenched hair pressing against his neck. "I chose to do the lessons, I'm also to blame. I realized how kind you were, how genuine your smile was, how much you paid attention to others' problems, and how … interesting you were in private settings."
Mina listened to what he was saying, it felt unreal, like something out of a movie. Her waterworks ready to spill out at any second. His warm chest filled her with a sense of relief, much like how their cuddling had done so earlier.
"I love you, Mina, probably already for a while now." He felt her arms tighten their embrace, it seems more crying was in order. "I was lying to myself, blinding my own desires so that nobody would be hurt."
"But I…" A loud shriek escaped her as she could no longer hold back. Mina wept into his arms, both elated and apologetic cries ringing through the air. This went on for a while, Izuku patted the back of her wet head between her pseudo-shouts of pain. Eventually she calmed down, and now sat next to him on the dry spot's floor. Her eyes aching from the continuous stream of tears.
"Just like that day huh?" Izuku looked up at the dark sky, no longer able to tell if it was still night out. He remembered when she found him partially soaked a few weeks back, when this whole arrangement began. What was then a weird meeting now became a treasured memory.
"Yeah, weird isn't it?" Mina rested her head on his shoulder, some sniffles left her. She probably had a cold, but that would be a worry for another time.
"Oh crap." Izuku's expression turned to worry, something seemed to have popped up in his head. "What if Mr. Aizawa walks inside the dorm sometime now?" He narrowed his eyelids, pupils almost fully invisible beneath them.
Mina laughed, after everything that happened, his mind was still on academics. How cute, she couldn't have asked for a better partner.
"Well I guess a one day suspension would be in order." She teasingly answered his hypothetical question. After a look of pure distress to her direction, she relented. "Kidding, kidding, Mr. Aizawa's punishment would be far harsher."
"Catching up to the lost material would be a nightmare." He rubbed the back of his head and pouted simultaneously. Mina responded by shifting closer to him and resting more of her head on his shoulder. A nice feeling, being this close to someone.
"Hmmm. What would be our hero couple's name?" With her eyes closed, Mina began brainstorming. "How about: Green Bubblegum?" She smiled as this name came to her.
"Kind of confusing, bubblegum doesn't melt things. Could be good for a fanbase though." Izuku began practically picking apart the suggestion, which made the girl beside her giggle. "The All Mighty Aliens."
"Too close to All Might don't you think?" She lovingly rubbed her head against him. "Pink Usage!"
"A little vague, could apply to a lot of heroes." Another chuckle escaped the girl on him. "PinkDye." Izuku smiled at this one, seemingly happy at his creativity.
"Not too bad but lets shoot more, we could land a better one." Mina intertwined her hand with his. She enjoyed his warmth beyond anything else.
"Okay then… how about…"
The newly formed couple sat on the floor, talking candidly, waiting for the surrounding rain to subside.
Secret Lessons - The Good Ending.
A/N
Hey,
Dunno if I like this ending. It feels good because it is a 'good' ending after all but it may be a little contrived. However, I feel some things need to be contrived in order for any story to happen or conclude.
Whatever the case, hope you enjoy the first ending. Next will be the Harem Ending, with two chapters because no way can I compress everything into one.
Have a great day.
