Showing just training is boring, So I have some ideas... and this really finishes the training arc beautifully.
We set things up for a wonderful time. I have some things planned, any ideas are welcome though.
The Scroll was hard to open, even with his advancing chakra levels Naruto struggled. Still, even as it siphoned his powers, he had enough strength to protect himself should anything come after him. The scroll opened, revealing a set of fingerprints and names signed in blood, not unlike the Toad Contract. However, reading the seals, he knew it was another type of contract.
"Kurama, if I am write, this is to ensure I cannot spread the secrets of my clan?"
"More or less, it keeps the secrets safe from anyone, even a Sharingan or Yamanaka could get into your mind to steal it. You are a bit too inexperienced, but this essentially marks you as clan head and is your clans way of ensuring your loyalty."
"Cool..." And so he slit a cut onto his thumb, and signed the contract. In a puff of smoke, as the contract bound him, he felt the whispers of past Uzumaki's flit through his mind
"Welcome, Naruto Uzumaki, never forget your place and never forget your duty..." A woman said, calm and confident, and Naruto somehow knew her to be The Red Death herself, the Crimson Princess. "Honor your people, revive our clan and gain the vengeance we are due."
And so faded her voice and the puff of smoke, revealing a single scroll marked with the kanji for First. Naruto opened it up, and sat there, reading the history of his people, straight from the moment they left the Senju, tired of their fighting the Uchiha.
'And so it was, after defecting from our Sister clan, that we found our peace from the constant hateful battles that plagued our people. Our head at the time, Tsuyu Senju married Susanno, a shinobi with no family name but with bright red hair, and our clan was born. They changed their name to reflect the Land of Whirlpools where they first met, and it was there that they lived and fought until their granddaughter, The Crimson Princess, founded the Village we call home. Generations passed and we found power, peace and strength equal to the Senju or Uchiha.
However, our greatest achievement was finding purpose in the Shinigami's service... and that changed everything.
Naruto read on how they began honoring the god with offerings, then sacrifices, and finally experimentation. How they turned their dense chakra into a weapon, the Chakra chains, and learned to summon their patron with seals that offered the lives of those is cast and another. Even Naruto started to understand, to his shame, why they were killed. He was rather creeped out by their obsession with death, that came more potent with every new entry... still, he knew that without their understanding and worship of death, he would have never survived, for it was through their knowledge that Kurama was placed in his body.
"This... is a lot." Naruto said aloud. "How could all this be lost to time?"
Kurama hummed. 'Even I was unaware of how bad it got... but do not cast blame to them all, only a handful were this obsessed, most just treated the Shinigami as a patron. It is their deaths that we will avenge.'
"Agreed... now,... onto the training. Let's see what they have to offer me."
And what he found, would scare just about anyone, but what he discovered almost immediately, is that it would take years before he was good enough to honor this forbearers, and even longer before he could use their powers.

The Day Naruto was to Return to the Leaf
Before Naruto knew it, it was time to return. He was a new being, born and bred for carnage. He understood more, was powerful on a scale that few could match but still he sought his place. Training, bounty hunting and reading on the past only did so much. To know who he was, he needed to actually live. To that end, and that end alone he decided to return to the Leaf.
Easily sneaking back into the village, Naruto slid into the Hokage's office, just as he saw Jiraiya kowtowing to Tsunade, begging her to not anilate him. He could not help but laugh.
They both turned to him, chakra's flaring. "How'd you get in here? Who are you?" The Hokage commanded.
"I seek a battle, with Jiraiya. Win or lose, I will reveal my true self." He gestured to his outfit, masked by ANBU Style clothes and a flat white mask. "The fight must be public, for I hold a grudge. Now, shall we go?"
Jiraiya gaped. "You're the Red Death, I know that hair."
"You honor me, yes that is me. Now as I said, I hold a grudge and you require punishment... shall we?"
Tsunade nodded. "Fine, but when Jiriaya bests you, I expect answers."
"Hmm, if he bests me... now, onto the arena. Oh and gather all you can, this must be as public as possible."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a joy to write.
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
