"Izuku! Are you ready yet?!" Uraraka cried out teasingly.
Uraraka was waiting outside his dorm room in a cute outfit, holding a picnic basket. This was their first date as a couple, and Midoriya was running late.
"Sorry, Ochaco," Midoriya opened the door just a crack with a blemish across his face, "Ashido advised me to use this gel and I can't get it to work."
Uraraka tried to hold in a laugh, but she just ended up spitting it out. His hair looked messier than usual with gel dripping onto his jacket.
Ashido... Of course she told him to use this for our first date...
It had been a week since the Winter Dance and things between Midoriya and Uraraka were going really well. They were dating, and Ashido couldn't stop talking about it. Even some of the guys were congratulating Midoriya on being the first guy in Class 1-A to be going out.
Well, besides Kaminari.
Uraraka let herself into Midoriya's room to help him out.
"Izuku, you didn't have to take her advise," Uraraka told him as she tried to shape it carefully as if there was no gel in his hair at all, "Besides, I like your hair just the way it is."
Midoriya felt himself blush even more, but didn't pull away. He let her help out with his hair. She even suggested replacing the jacket with a clean one. After a little bit of work, his hair looked just like it always did.
Just more spiky and sticky from the gel.
"How does it look?" Midoriya asked her, a little embarrassed.
Uraraka chuckled slightly as she picked up the picnic basket.
"Come on, you look great," Uraraka told him, opening his door to head out.
They made their way down to the elevator, knowing everyone was in the common room.
"You know, it is a little weird to be having a picnic in the middle of winter," Midoriya pointed out.
"Yeah, but I don't mind. I thought a picnic outside while its snowing might've been a good way to start," Uraraka told him with rosy cheeks, "The snow reminds of the Winter Dance... you know?..."
Noticing what Uraraka was finally up to, Midoriya smiled genuinely and held her hand as they entered the elevator. She looked up and felt her face heat up as her nose was inches away from touching his.
"Sounds like a date to me," Midoriya said to her, stumbling a little bit on what to say.
Uraraka leaned into his arm as they waited for the elevator to open up. The moment they finally stepped out, the rest of Class 1-A looked up from what they were all doing.
They looked like they were all waiting for their former Winter Dance performers to come down. Especially Ashido and Hagakure.
"Aww! You guys look so adorable together!" Hagakure commented with a wave of enthusiasm.
"Midoriya, you didn't use the gel properly like I told you," Ashido pouted.
"No. I helped him fix it, actually," Uraraka said as went to mess his hair up, but couldn't because it was so spiky and dried up from the gel, "His hair is fine the way it is. Please leave the gel out of our dates from now on."
"Fine, maybe Kaminari would like it for his date with Kyoka," Ashido said as she eyed him from the other side of the room.
Kaminari suddenly felt the need to protect his hair. Jirou chuckled next to him, holding his hand.
"You guys do know that its snowing outside, right?" Yaoyorozu reminded them, "You're not going to be able to go very far."
"I know, we're just going to sit by the front steps," Uraraka told her, then eyed everyone, "You guys better interrupt like you did when we were up on the rooftop."
Uraraka's glare seemed to tense everyone up, even Bakugo felt a little something coming from her.
"I'll make sure no one disturbs your very first date!" Iida said as he saluted her, "You two deserve some privacy after all you two have done for the Winter Dance and even before that!"
"Thank you, Iida," Midoriya said to his friend as he held Uraraka's hand.
"Now, if you'll excuse us, we'll be outside," Uraraka said as she gave a teasing glare to everyone in the common room, especially Ashido.
They both headed out the door, and the cold, winter air blew at them pretty gently. It wasn't too bad. It was cold, but the snow falling from the sky was rather gentle and graceful.
It very much felt like a winter wonderland. Just like the Winter Dance.
Uraraka reached into the basket and pulled out a blanket. She laid it out on the front steps, and they both sat down together.
For awhile, they just sat there in each other's arms. They admired the snow falling gently down to the ground, covering the grassy fields and becoming thick white blankets of snow.
"This is nice," Midoriya told her, "I can see why you wanted this to be our first date."
"I'm glad you like it so much already," Uraraka said to him as she reached into the picnic basket, "Because I made you a little something..."
Uraraka pulled out two steaming bowls of Katsudon and two to go cups of hot green tea.
Midoriya's green eyes lit up with joy just like a little kid. He knew she had made her something, but he didn't think it would be his favorite dish.
"Och-Ochaco?! You... You made this?!" Midoriya cried out, but then pulled back a bit, "For me?..."
Uraraka smiled widely at his reaction and gave him a bowl and cup.
"Of course, I knew you'd like it," Uraraka said so sweetly, "I notice you eat it all the time so I figured it was your favorite."
Midoriya felt himself fight back tears as she gave him a pair of chopsticks. He stared at the piping hot meal, and his mouth was watering. He slowly took a bite out of it, and instantly fell in love.
"Ochaco..." Midoriya said, tears starting to form, "This is even better than Lunch Rush's..."
Uraraka knew coming from him that what he had just said was a big compliment. She inched closer to Midoriya and gave him a big hug.
"Thank you, Izuku," Uraraka said, "I'm glad you like it. Well, enjoy."
He nodded at her and ate it surprisingly slow. Uraraka hadn't even taken a bite out of hers yet. She had even forgotten about her dish and watched him enjoy her cooking. Just seeing him smile, with a bit of rice hanging off of his chin was somehow the best thing she had ever seen.
"Even the green tea is really good!" Midoriya complimented, "I could drink this all day!"
Midoriya's sudden comment snapped Uraraka out of it, and she felt herself blush. She suddenly felt like stuffing her face full of Katsudon.
I can't believe he just said that!
"Ochaco! Careful, you're going to choke."
"So-Sorry, I just... didn't expect you to say that about the... the green tea..."
Midoriya was confused as to why that would make her feel so weirded out. He tilted his head, staring at her.
"Why would you freak out over... green... tea...?"
After taking a second to understand, Midoriya felt himself heat up over something he had just said.
"I-I'm so-sorry, Och-Ochaco! I-I di-didn't mean it like that! I'll be more careful about what I say the next time we get gr- gree- green te- tea--"
Uraraka felt herself burst out laughing from his reaction. She understood he meant nothing by it, but it was just adorable watching him get flustered over something that actually wasn't a big deal.
Midoriya stopped in his tracks as she held onto his arm and leaned on him close. That instantly caught his attention.
"It's okay, Izuku. It was just something I thought about making. It fits so well, doesn't it?"
Midoriya set his bowl and cup aside and leaned into her embrace.
"Uh-uh, yeah..."
For awhile, they just sat there together admiring each other's warmth. They felt so much better after having a good meal, that they just wanted to watch the snow fall once more.
Uraraka looked up at him after what felt like hours since they even talked to one another and met his green eyes. She didn't expect to see his face so close to hers, but she didn't jump away.
All they could do was stare at each other until one of them made the first move. But no one dared to do it.
After a good, long minute, Uraraka leaned in and kissed him. She couldn't believe she had just done that, but surprisingly liked it. And luckily, he kissed back.
Once they separated from each other, Uraraka couldn't stop looking deep into his green emerald eyes. They were so warm and inviting.
"I love you, Izuku," Uraraka said so quietly.
"I love you, too Ochaco. I can't wait for our second date. I owe you for that amazing Katsudon!"
"You don't owe me anything. Besides, I'm sure whatever second date you come up with, it'll be just as amazing."
The two lovebirds held each other's hands gently, excited for their next date to come very soon.
Class 1-A from inside the dorm did their best to not be seen by Iida or the couple on a date. All of the girls, especially Ashido were so happy to finally see Uraraka on a date with the guy they all knew she liked.
After everything they had been through to finally get them together, Ashido actually felt relieved to see her best friend finally so happy with the guy she had been crushing on for so long.
Ashido smiled from the other side of the room, watching them snuggle together on the picnic blanket.
Ochaco, you deserve this... I'm so happy for both of you...
Finally! The story is over!
I really hoped everyone enjoyed it! I really do like this story! I think it turned out great, it took awhile to write it all. But all in all, I definitely think it's great especially for fans of IzuOcha!! And yes, Kaminari and Jirou are together as well!
IzuOcha forever! :)
Also, green tea is their names put together. It's known as their ship name if no one knew that just to understand the joke. LOL!
