Chapter 2: My Fire Hero Academia
"Do you have everything honey?" Inko called out. "Notebooks?"
"Yes, mom," Izuku sighed.
"Pencils?"
"Yes,"
"Fireproof uniform pants?"
"Mom, it's my first day, I'm gonna be late!" Izuku groaned.
Inko just hugged her son, her tears flooding the doorway and almost causing yet another flood of the building. "My baby boy's growing up…he's gonna be a big strong hero just like his father…!" she wailed
Hisashi chuckled and patted his son's shoulders. "You've been training for years, son, you're gonna do great! Everyone at the firehouse is pulling for ya!"
"Thanks dad." Izuku grinned and put on his shoes. "I'm heading out, see ya later!"
The two proud parents waved him off as he sprinted down the street. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, the pink leaves blowing gently in the early spring air as Izuku walked down the road towards the school.
As Izuku walked, he ran past a couple of local firemen, who recognized him. "Izuku! Heading to Yuuei?"
"Yeah!" He called back. "It's my first day, I'm pumped!"
"Show other kids what the fire brigades are all about!" the second one shouted back as they tried to get a cat down. "I got him!"
"No you don't," Izuku and the first man deadpanned, as the cat attacked him and dropped him to the pavement. "Want me to get the water cannon?"
"No we're good, just get to school dude!" The first man replied.
Izuku rolled his eyes. The fire brigades had their oddballs, but with the Nova menace they had to be among the best. The green-haired boy continued down the street, weaving and dancing through the crowds until he finally reached the pathway towards the school. The massive, glass, H-shaped building was already in view.
"Yuuei University, I'm almost there," he said to himself. He took two steps forward before he heard someone yell, "Look out!" As he looked up, some sort of cloth flew up and hit his face. When he reached up to feel it, he realized that somehow, someone's shirt had blown into his face.
"Hey! That's mine!" a female voice called out. He pulled the material away and saw a young, black-haired girl, wearing just her bra, skirt and black leggings. He noticed that her golden yellow eyes, which were focused on him, had cat-like slits, and her cute, round face was flushed pink.
He glanced down at the shirt and panicked. "SORRY!" He quickly threw it at her. "Um, how did you lose your shirt?"
The girl sighed. "I've always had this horrible luck with losing my clothes. I call it the Lucky Lecher's curse…which isn't my Quirk by the way." She finished putting on her shirt and fixing it. "Anyway, I'm Tamaki Kotasu. I'm on my way to Yuuei University. Judging by the uniform, I think we're heading in the same direction.
Izuku rubbed his hair. "Yeah I guess we are, I'm Izuku Midoriya. Nice to meet you. Um, is the clothes thing a regular occurrence?"
Tamaki's head dropped. "I wish it didn't. But thanks for at least not perving. Come on, we're gonna be late."
The two walked the path to the school and soon came up to the gates. As expected from one of the premier schools in the world, the school and gates were massive, the money from sponsors, heroes and the tuition allowed for the school to splurge a bit. Izuku took in the university with awe, his dream now within reach.
After gawking for a few moments, Tamaki finally got him to move after several seconds of pulling on his sleeve. Izuku rubbed his head in embarrassment and followed her into the school, where they wandered the halls trying to find their classroom. Moments later, they finally found their classroom, a gigantic door that stretched all the way to the ceiling, marked with a giant red 1A.
"Huh…who knew we'd be in the same class, Midoriya?" Tamaki commented.
"I mean, it would've been a 50-50 chance," Izuku pointed out, even as he gazed up at the enormous door "Um, well, Ladies first."
Tamaki huffed with a small blush and opened the door, to a cacophony of chaos.
"I implore you to remove your feet from this desk!" a tall, blue haired student shouted, gesticulating stiffly. "Have you no respect for the Senpai that came before us!?"
"Of course not," a blond haired boy grunted. "And who the hell talks like that? you some sort of prep schooler or something?"
"For your information, I went to Somei Academy," the taller man replied matter of factly.
"A prep schooler and probably one of those blue bloods to boot, like I care about what you think!
Izuku sighed despondently. "Well, he was aiming to be Number One."
"Friend of yours?" Tamaki asked.
"Schoolmate at least. But, that was a long time ago."
"Midoriya! You made it!" Ochako called out, running over to him. "Can't believe we're in the same class!"
"You know him too?" Tamaki asked curiously.
"Yeah, we were in the same testing area. You should have seen him kick ass there! Oh sorry, I'm Uraraka Ochako, nice to meet you."
Tamaki looked at the brunette with a calculating gaze. "Kotatsu Tamaki, a pleasure. Hope we get along at least."
Ochako beamed at her, and then glanced at Izuku. "I didn't think you were gonna be in my class, this is gonna be fun.
"If you brats are here to make friends, the door is behind you!" A voice hissed from behind the desk. The class watched as a dark haired man marched through the door and approached the desk with purpose. He gazed across the room, the class noticing that under his long messy hair, two slitted yellow pupils, which resembled that of a snake. "Eight seconds. That's how long you took to get settled down. I'm Aizawa Shouta, homeroom teacher for Class 1-A. Grab your gym gear and meet me outside in ten minutes, or you might as well leave."
The entire class froze in place. They had never seen a teacher act like this before. The fact he was ordering them around like soldiers felt unnatural. Then there was his gaze, it felt like a predator sizing up prey. His eyes were unnaturally narrow, glaring at them as if they were beneath him, which he may as well be.
"But…sir? What about Orientation?" Ochako, the brave soul, asked him after a few moments..
Aizawa's glare could freeze the room as he stared the brunette down. "Orientations are a waste of time and unimportant for the real world," he grunted. "Now, move it! You have nine minutes now." The class panicked and started heading towards the door. Only for the door to slide open a white haired woman in a sweater vest and gray skirt. "Oh…Aizawa-sensei, there you are, I was wondering why you're not at orientation," the woman spoke, her face one of surprise and terror.
Aizawa growled. "Don't tell me how to run my classroom, intern. We're going down to the fields, now!" He said, pushing her aside.
The woman sighed and wrote something down. "Right, sorry, class. I'm Todoroki Fuyumi. I will be your Teacher's assistant. Come on, let's go down to the field."
It was a night and day difference between the two teachers, as most actually greeted her warmly as they walked by her. Izuku was one of the last out and saw that another white and red haired student stopped next to Todoroki-sensei.
"Shouto…you're in this class?" Fuyumi asked.
"I didn't know you were at UA, Fuyumi," the now-named Shouto replied.
"I just got my license, and Nedzu-san personally recruited me. Doesn't mean I won't go easy on you."
The now named Shoto nodded in acknowledgment, face blank. "Yes, sister." He stepped past Izuku, who watched him go with mild curiosity.
After a few minutes, the class of 20 reached the gym fields, dressed in their provided gym uniforms. Aizawa glared at them as they lined up. "Just under 10 minutes. You need to be faster next time." He marched in front of the students. "What we're about to do is a Quirk Assessment Test. For some goddamn reason, the Ministry insists that you complete gym assessments without your Quirks. It is irrational and not conducive for future heroic success. UA is here to train heroes, so we need a baseline for your abilities."
He stopped and stared at them. "Which one of you is Midoriya?"
The green haired man raised his hand. "Here, sensei."
Aizawa pointed to a circle. "You were the best in the entrance exam. What was your best score for the ball throw?"
Izuku rolled his shoulders. "I say about 43 meters. I mean, I'm not a baseball player so I think that was good for someone not trained in it."
Aizawa nodded. "Alright, using your Quirk, show me what you got. Don't leave the circle."
Izuku perked up when Aizawa said he could use his Quirk. He bounced the ball in his hand and then tossed it straight up. Crouching down, he ignited his feet and leapt up before bicycle kicking the ball. The impact and momentum sent the ball soaring down the field,
Aizawa said nothing as he held up a watch. After a few moments, it beeped and the teacher held it up. "545…good, but I know you can do better, Midoriya."
The rest of the class started to get excited. "We can use our Quirks?"
"That's awesome!"
"Can't wait to show off what I got!"
Aizawa growled. "You think Heroics is a game? Yuuei Academy is one of the foremost Hero Academies. It's our job to make you ready for the world of heroics. Robberies, Novae Attacks, Natural disasters, if you don't take it seriously, people will die!" This sobered everyone up as he stared them down. "If you're not going to take this seriously, then maybe I can motivate you a bit. We have eight tests to do today. Whoever does the worst overall, or who I find has no potential, will be expelled!"
The class gasped, but before anyone could do anything, Fuyumi stepped up. "Aizawa-sensei, as your fellow teacher, expulsion is only Nedzu's domain! You're being ridiculous!"
Aizawa turned his baleful gaze to Fuyumi. "I would suggest you be quiet, assistant teacher!" He placed a great deal of emphasis on her subordinate status, before focusing on the class. "If no one wants to be expelled, I would suggest you follow our school's motto and Go Beyond your limits! Now LINE UP!"
The class quickly scrambled to the first event which was the 50 meter dash. Two by two, the class would be racing against each other down a track and recording their time.
Ochako was in the second pairing, alongside a female student with dark blue hair and matching blue eyes, with exotic arrow shaped pupils. As they settled in, Ochako tapped her shirt, pants and shoes, her fingers flashing faintly each time she touched them. "That should do it, at least for this event,"
"Ready?" Aizawa called out. Ochako got into a runner stance, while her opponent, to everyone's surprise, turned around. With everyone watching, she formed a large bow made of flames out of her hands.
Kodai Yai! Quirk: Longbow! She can create a fiery bow and explosive arrows, and can form multiple arrows at once! Don't let its simplicity fool you, it packs a hell of a punch.
"GO!"
Ochako quickly ran down the field, her opponent propelling herself alongside by firing off an arrow every half second, the laws of physics sending her backwards with each carefully precise attack.. Halfway down the track, Yai passed the gravity girl and kept the lead for the rest of the race, passing the robot at the end of the course.
"5.21! 7.22!" chirped the bot.
Ochako quickly released her quirk and walked over to her opponent. "Good race!"
Yai nodded as they walked back to the class as the next pair set up. Izuku approached both with a curious expression. "So you can concentrate your Quirk on specific spots?"
"Yeah," Ochako rubbed her head. "It was kind of embarrassing when I was younger, I nearly lost a few toys over it."
"Fascinating," Izuku nodded as he started to jot something down in a notebook labeled, 'Quirk Analysis for Heroes, Number 14.'
"Are you interested in Quirks, Midoriya-san?" Yai asked.
"Oh yeah, thanks to my dad, I was allowed to see Heroes fighting alongside firemen, so I got to watch a lot of heroes. Speaking of, Yai-san, I didn't think arrows could be that strong to propel you."
"It's not my normal method, but you have to adapt," she said simply, shrugging.
Before Izuku could speak up, a very grating and angry voice. "Midoriya, what the hell are you doing here!?" The verdette turned around to see the blonde haired man approached. "I thought you'd be slumming it up in the fire academy!"
Izuku rolled his eyes. "Katsuki Bakugou…here I thought I'd seen the last of you in Aldera."
The blonde glared. "Stay out of my way, fireman! My Hero story should have started with only me coming from that dumb school!"
"Oi, asshole," Tamaki growled. "Get off your damn high horse. Anything from high school doesn't mean a damn thing here!"
Before they could butt heads, Aizawa snapped at them. "Bakugou, Kotatsu, take your places already."
Tamaki humphed and walked to the start line with Katsuki following. Izuku, remembering Bakugou's quirk, reached into his pouch and pulled out several ear plugs. "You might want to put these on," he advised Yai and Ochako. He also caught sight of a purple haired girl with extended earlobes, and jogged over to offer her them. "You should take these too."
The girl looked at him aloofly for a moment, but after a glance at the aggressive blond, took the plugs. "Thanks. I'm Jirou Kyouka. Good call, my Earphone Jacks give me some sensitive hearing," she said, twirling one of them around her finger.
"No problem. I'm Midoriya Izuku. These babies have helped out a lot of people on fires I go to."
Back on the course, Tamaki removed her top, revealing a sports bra to allow freedom of movement. Then, to everyone's interest, a pair of red flames ignited over her head, forming a set of catlike ears, followed by two long, fiery tails as her eyes glowed golden yellow. She grinned and crouched down like said cat.
Kotatsu Tamaki. Quirk: Nekomata. In addition to generating tails made of flame, her agility increases when ignited, and she can shift to a four-legged stance easier than most humans.
"What the? A Catgirl? This ain't some sort of shitty anime," Bakgou snarled as he set himself up.
Bakugou Katsuki. Quirk: Explosion! The sweat on his palms bears similarities to nitroglycerin, except he can detonate it on command! The more he sweats, the stronger the explosion.
"Ready?" chirped the camera robot, "Set!"
Bakugou blasted forward, his explosions rocking the field, a while smirk on his face. He looked to his left and his face morphed into one of shock as Tamaki was keeping up on all fours. They crossed the line almost at the same time.
"Kotatsu Tamaki: 4.07."
"Bakugou Katsuki: 4.13."
Katsuki growled as Tamaki stood back up on two feet. "Not so tough, huh, Bakubrat?" she taunted, walking back to her new friends.
Ochako was quick to pet Tamaki's head. "You're so cute. Does your quirk do that all the time?"
Tamaki blushed in embarrassment. "Stoppp, yes it does. Being a cat has some perks but damn it, i hate the draw backs,"
"Iida, Midoiriya, you're the last two. Let's go."
"That's me," Izuku chimed in as he walked his way over to the starting line. He found himself next to the blue haired stiff from earlier. "Didn't think I meet an Iida so soon. Your family's well known in the Rescue Field," he commented, getting into a runner stance. His heels ignited.
"Let us save our introductions for later," the student said as he too got into a runner's stance, the pipes emerging from his calves whirring.
Iida Tenya. Quirk: Engine. He can tear up the streets with the V8 built into his legs! But he better watch out or he may burn out.
"Ready? Set!" At the command and crack of the starting pistol, both runners blasted out of the starting blocks, their speed kicking up a dust cloud, Iida sprinting at superhuman speeds, Izuku roaring along with his afterburners. It was over a moment later as both crossed the line.
"Iida Tenya, 3.07 seconds."
"Midoriya Izuku, 3.07 seconds."
"A TIE!?" Everyone gasped.
"And so fast!" yelped a blond with a black streak in his hair, "That's some Hero shit already, isn't it?!"
"Plus Ultra indeed," Aizawa mumbled.
Both skidded to a halt and caught their breath. Izuku recovered first, letting out a laugh of exhilaration. "That was awesome!
"Iida Tenya and indeed. Shame I couldn't get my full speed going at only 50 meters." Iida grinned and shook Izuku's hand. "We must do this again."
"Hell yeah."
"Save the friendship drivel for later. We've got seven more tests," droned Aizawa.
The class quickly fell in line for the remaining tests. First up was sit ups, which they paired up and did the most in under 5 minutes before swapping. He was paired up with Uraraka. With Izuku's fitness level, he easily did 150. When they swapped, he watched as her assets bounced slightly in the dark shirt she was wearing, making him slightly flustered. When time was called, he relaxed as he helped Ochako up.
"Are you okay, Midoriya-kun?" she asked innocently.
"Yeah…just feeling anxious," he replied vaguely as they lined up for the next event.
The next four events passed uneventfully for the class. The first was the seated toe touch, which most everyone did adequately save for a couple that didn't work out as much as others..
Then came the side to side jump, which Izuku came out ahead thanks to his Quirk focusing on his feet as he simply ignited his foot each time he landed. Tamaki also did well, matching his total due to her feline grace, as if she was dancing.
Afterwards was the only event that Izuku was vastly outclassed in, grip strength. While he did impressively, 130 kgs was nothing to scoff at, the clear victor here was a giant student with a face mask and the ability to grow multiple limbs, named Shoji Mezo. He almost destroyed the grip machine with three hands, the numbers showing 540 kgs.
Event 6 was the Standing Long Jump. In a normal test, the students would trying to get as far as they could in the sand pit. But with Quirks, some of them could easily fly past the sand pit, as Bakugou demonstrated as he easily cleared the pit. Izuku took his spot at the start line, and on the signal, he blasted straight up into the air. He easily passed the sand trap and landing past Asui Tsuyu's mark. He looked at the teachers, with Aizawa saying nothing and noting the scores, while Todoroki-sensei was smiling and clapping.
The last event before the ball toss was an endurance run. All they had to do was use their quirks and their physical endurance to go the longest around the track, doing as many laps as they could. This one showed where most of the class had faltered horribly. Izuku, being the son of a fireman, one of the more physically demanding professions in the world, knew that in order to be a hero, he needed to keep his body in shape. So it was no surprise he, Bakugou, Iida and Tamaki could match him. However the biggest shock was when the black-haired young woman created a moped out of her body and was able to keep up with them. Izuku couldn't fault her for thinking outside the box but at the same time he thought that was busted.
After five laps, half the class was had started to flag, not used to running this long. Izuku noted that among those that flagged were the earlobe girl and a floating set of clothes, who collapsed after barely crossing the line for five laps. After ten laps, only Iida, the black haired girl on the bike, Tamaki and Katsuki and Todoroki senseis brother Shoto were keeping up as he was lapping the rest of the field. Finally after 16 laps, Aizawa growled. "Enough showboating we still have one more event."
The five still running slowed to a stop, or in the black girls case hopped off. "That's good," she said. "My moped was about to run out of battery."
Izuku walked up to the girl. "That was an awesome idea. How did you do that?"
The girl smiled. "Yaoyorozu Momo, and I used my Quirk Creation to make it. It was a simple task once i knew what we were doing
Yaoyorozu Momo. Quirk: Creation! She can create any non-living thing from her body, so long as she understands its molecular composition.
"Is it all from your body, or do you need something else?" Izuku asked as they approached the ball toss. With Izuku already doing his, he was done with his tests, so he just sat and watched the rest of the group go. Tamaki was able to get a score of 340 meters by picking it up, pawing at it and then sending it flying with a swing of her hips and a lash of her tail.
Katsuki meanwhile took his ball, wound up and with a shout of "DIE!" He fired the ball like a cannon shot, with explosion and all straight into the air.. Aizawa watched the number climb until it reached its final count.. "705.2 Meters…not bad. Uraraka, you're the last one"
Ochako took the ball and stood in the circle. Activating her Quirk, she reared and let it fly…literally. The ball just continued to climb and climb, all the way into the sky.
"..." Aizawa glared at the counter before the Infinity symbol appeared. "That balls not coming down, so thats infinity."
"Agreed," Fuyumi nodded, before she tapped a screen to show the results.

While everyone was looking at their scores, Aizawa spun around on Fuyumi. "What do you think you're doing?" he demanded. "Those weren't the scores I put down!
"I kept track of the scores, and these are accurate," she told him plainly, "It's a good thing I did, too."
"You're overriding my authority as lead teacher," He countered. Internally he cursed. The scores he had would have kicked out Toga and Hagakure.
"I am doing my job as teacher's assistant and correcting the mistakes that you clearly made," Fuyumi told him, her earnest tone momentarily colored with menace, "Do you want to get Nedzu involved in your biases?"
Aizawa glared at her before walking away. "Your Syllabi are on your desks in the classroom. Be ready for classes tomorrow."
"What about the expulsion?" Tenya asked, making everyone freeze and silently signal him to shut up.
"It's not happening, now go home," Aizawa growled, not stopping his march.
Fuyumi sighed. "As Aizawa sensei said, your syllabi are on your desks. Your first hero lesson will be tomorrow afternoon." She walked over to Shoto. "I'll be a few minutes with principal Nedzu, I can take you home after that."
Shouto merely nodded. "It…will be nice talking to you…onee-san," he said shortly, before walking off himself.
Tamaki hummed in thought. "Something's bugging me about those two, I can't quite figure it out."
"Yeah," Izuku agreed as they headed back to the classroom before heading out with Tamaki, Ochako and Tenya. "So, Kotatsu-san…
"We're gonna be classmates," the cat girl cut him off, "Tamaki's fine."
"Right, so, do you live around here?"
"Yeah. I'm about a few blocks away.
"Cool, would you like to exchange numbers?"
Tamaki huffed. "Yeah that would be great, 'cause I might need you to go hunt for my clothes again."
Tenya froze, as did Ochako. "I-Im sorry? What do you m-mean by that?" the taller man asked.
"Um…this is embarrassing," mumbled the girl, "Somehow, my clothes randomly fall off, or I end up in awkward positions…"
"That sounds completely fantastical!"
"S-So, you want h-his help with your clothes?" Ochako asked, her imagination running wild at the implications.
"I-I'm not fussed by it as much any more…but it's still really annoying," the cat girl pouted.
"Then can we exchange numbers, Midoriya?" asked Iida.
"Oh, same!" Ochako asked. "That way we can stay in touch!"
"Speaking of, where are you living, Uraraka?"
Ochako rubbed her head. "I'm from Mie…so I had to get an apartment nearby. It's cheap enough on my scholarship."
Izuku nodded. "Hopefully you can come over soon. My parents would love to meet my classmates."
A familiar siren echoed through the city as the group of four watched one of the many fire engines the city had going towards a job, this one had a large ladder on it with their lights horn blaring. "Hmmm, based on that lone ladder company, I'd say car fire, or a small blaze that needs something broken into." This was followed by a smaller one without noticeable pipes or hoses. "Rescue truck, definitely a technical rescue. They would've sent more trucks from this squadron if it was bigger."
"Being the son of a Fire chief, you probably know all sorts of stories," Ochako commented admiringly.
"My brother has worked with fire fighters and calls them some of the bravest heroes he's ever met," Iida added with a fond smile.
"You really idolize this brother of yours," Tamaki pointed out.
"Indeed! My older brother is the Turbo Hero: Ingenium. He is an excellent rescue hero, and someone whose skill and upstanding heroism I hope to live up to in the future."
"A legacy hero…" Tamaki hummed. "You know, Todoroki-sensei and that two-toned kid are related to that asshat Endeavor I bet."
"Tamaki! He is the number 2 hero in Japan! Show him some respect!" Tenya chopped his hands.
"He's still dick in public," Tamaki grumbled. "Now the Fire Force? Most of those guys are cool."
"Oh yeah, didn't we see one of them the other day, Izuku-kun?" Ochako asked. "Squad 8, right? They were familiar with All Might."
"Yeah, I guess he's been called to deal with them more and more. Dad's been getting worried about all the Novae recently."
"Anything stand out?" Tamaki asked.
"Not off hand, or at least not what dad's told me. Anyway, less worrying about that and more worrying about what our first day of classes could bring," Izuku told them.
"Agreed, see you all tomorrow!" Iida saluted and marched off.
Tamaki smiled at Izuku and Ochako. "With classmates like you instead of 'splody head, I think this is gonna be fun! Later!" However, just as she said that, she tripped and fell to the ground, her skirt someone how flipping up in the non existent wind getting a cute 'nya!' out of her.
The three remaining students were bright red, Iida especially as he turned away, his nose slightly bleeding. Izuku was quick to fix her skirt while Ochako helped her up. "Ignore that! Thanks!" Tamaki blushed and ran off.
Tenya cleared his throat. "Well after all the excitement today, we best get home," he declared marching off leaving Ura
"Yeah, we've got a history…" he confirmed, mouth twisting distastefully, "Anyway, seeya tomorrow!" With that, he took off in the direction of home, waving goodbye.
Next Day
After the excitement of the first day, class 1-A was hoping for something cool about the heroic school, but for their first classes, they were sorely disappointed as the classes resembled more of a university than a hero school Even the best schools in the world had core subjects, though not all schools had heroes teaching them. Present Mic was a surprisingly good English teacher while Ectoplasm was able to teach math and help out students thanks to his Quirk.
"Oh man, this is so epic! Our first training session!" Kaminari Denki cheered..
"I wonder who's gonna teach us?" asked Mina, practically bouncing in her seat, feet kicking restlessly. "Maybe it's a celebrity."
"What celebrity would teach us newbies?" Tamaki rebutted. "We literally started yesterday."
Before long, they got their answer, which came in the form of a familiar laugh. "HAAAHAHAHA! I am…COMING THROUGH LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"
The door slid open and Japan's number one Hero strutted in like he owned the place.
"All Might's our teacher?!"
"UA is awesome!"
"Is that his Silver Age Costume?"
The Hero laughed. "What a wonderful welcome to our new Heroes in Training. I love the enthusiasm! But we aren't here to make small talk, we're here to talk about heroics. Welcome to your first lesson, boys and girls. But if you're gonna learn to be heroes, you need to look the part!" He clicked a remote, causing several stacks of cubes to extend from a wall, hidden behind the material. "Grab your gear and get changed, before meeting me in Training Ground Bravo!" All might saluted before rushing off. The students excitedly grabbed their gear, numbered like their seats, and headed to the locker room.
In the boys room, Izuku looked at his gear with pride. He had asked his dad's crewmates for suggestions along with his mother, and this was the final result. The base outfit was of course based on the fire department's orange and white uniform, with suspenders slung over his shoulders and a lightweight, shortened overcoat that he left open, revealing a dark, skintight bodysuit underneath. However, the outfit itself was more than cosmetic: A series of orange tubes was sewn into the bodysuit, running up and down his body and connecting to a set of vents along his back, elbows and gloves. He finished off the outfit by pulling on a pair of thick, heavy, metal boots that came up to below his knees, and carefully attached each end of the tubes to the lip at the top, and donning a modified fireman's hat, which included a visor to cover his face.
"Whooooa, that's manly, Midoriya!" Kirihisma called out as he finished suiting up. The redhead had opted for a dark red vest and black pants, with matching combat boots. "Love the fireman look."
Izuku rubbed his head, his sharklike teeth showing off in a bashful grin. "Thanks, my dad's squadron helped me with this. Though the visor was mom's idea."
"That was very touching by your mother, Midoriya," Tenya said He was dressed in a black one piece outfit with several pale silver armored pieces that resembled a knight's outfit. On his legs were metal boot that allowed his Engine exhausts sticking out. In his arms was a white helmet with grates that allowed him to speak through it. "Now let us be off."
As the boys exited they ran into the girls at the same time. He watched Tamaki and Ochako lead the pack and he blushed. "You girls look great."
"Thanks…" Ochako rubbed her head as she looked down at her own costume. It was a skin tight pink and black body long her wrists and ankles were a set of matching, round, bulbous cufflinks, while her boots were knee length, with a spring like heel in them. "I didn't want it as skin tight as this…I should've specified in my request," she sighed, pouting.
"Speak for yourself, I just wanted a way to show off my agility," Tamaki grumbled. She was dressed in a black and blue leotard with a pair of matching hot pants, the former with a cutout down her back. On her wrists and ankles were a pair of plates, with tubes extending down across her fingers and toes. "I'm a hero, not some kind of idol dancer!"
Izuku was prevented from commenting as they approached Ground Beta and All Might stood tall in front o f it. "Well now, don't you all look grand! From this point on, I officially dub you heroes in training! Now then, today's exercise is Heroes vs Villains. The scenario is simple. In this building there is a fake bomb that will destroy the building in the time limit. One pair of students will act like Heroes and either capture the villains or find the bomb and "disarm it." The other team will be the Villains, their job is to prevent the heroes from doing their job by either capturing them or running out the clock. I will also end a fight if I feel a fight is not in a state to continue!"
"How do we determine these teams?" Momo asked. She was dressed in a red leotard with knee length boots. Her outfit was complemented by a large, yellow, segmented belt that contained pouches of materials and other gear she could use. On her hip was a bag with a large book that stuck out against the rest of her costume.
"Through THESE!" All might held up a large box. "They will be random lots. With 20 of you, there will be 10 teams of 2 and there will be five matches!
"Sir! Wouldn't this be a bad idea? We don't know anyone's abilities yet. How can we be sure to be a good team?" Iida asked.
"I think that's the idea," Izuku brought up. "Every operation can have different heroes and different squadrons available. We don't know until we're on site."
"Exactly, Midoriya, m'boy. Now come pick your teams!
The students quickly did so. Midoriya found the ball labeled A. "Who's got the other A ball?"
"That would be me, Midoriya-san," Yai spoke up. She was dressed a white, burqa-like mask, a white cape with shoulder-guards, a jumper with a red cross insignia across the chest, white gloves and trousers. "It will be interesting to see what sort of strategies we can come with."
"Alright, ladies and gentlemen! The teams are as follows." He said pulling up the chart on the computer in front of them.
Team A: Midoriya Izuku and Kodai Yai
Team B: Todoroki Shouto and Shoji Mezou
Team C: Uraraka Ochako and Sero Hanta
Team D: Bakugou Katsuki and Kirishima Eijiro
Team E: Hagakure Tooru and Koda Koji
Team F: Kotatsu Tamaki and Toga Himiko
Team G: Kaminari Denki and Kyouka Jirou
Team H: Tokoyami Fumikage and Yaoyorozu Momo
Team I: Tenya Iida and Asui Tsuyu
Team J: Aoyama Yuuga and Ashido Mina
All Might reached into the box and rolled the balls around. "Alright then! The first pair shall be: Team B as Heroes, and Team E as the Villains! Team E, you have five minutes to set up your position. Of course, the five minutes start once you enter the building.
The invisible girl, wearing only a pair of gloves and boots patted the pointed headed student. "Come on, Koda-kun, we can do this!"
The gentle giant nodded and followed her into the building. Outside, Shouto and Shoji stood silently, waiting for the call to enter. Shoto was dressed simply in a plain, off-white shirt with matching pants and boots, with two golden straps over his shoulders. Shoji, meanwhile, was dressed in a large blue tank top and gray pants, marked by a set of six eye-like marks down both sides of his chest.
"Hero Team, you may enter. You have fifteen minutes to secure the villains or the bomb!"
Todoroki glanced at his teammate. "Can you figure out where they are?"
"I can," Shoji replied, his extra arms sprouting a pair of ears and a mouth to speak with.
Shoji Mezou. Quirk: Dupli-arms. He can transforms the ends of his tentacles into any other part of his body! Kinda gross, but super handy!
He placed one of his ears against the walls. A few moments later, one of his arms morphed into a mouth. "They're up on the third floor.
Shoto nodded. "Good, now I suggest you leave," He said as he placed his hand on the wall. Ice began to instantly form from his right hand and foot, spreading out across the floor, walls and ceiling rapidly. As the giant man walked out, he felt the temperature drop dramatically and turned around to see the outside of the building frees and become entombed in a large layer of ice.
Moments later, All Might came across the comms. "Hero Team Wins by Capture!" The ice began to melt after his announcement, freeing the invisible girl and her teammate. As they came back in, All Might addressed the class. "The MVP for this round is young Todoroki! Would anyone like to guess why?"
Tamaki raised her hand. "In addition to attacking with overwhelming power, Todoroki was able to end it quickly, limiting the damage to the building.
Momo nodded. "Yes, even though he went a bit far with his power, he was able to safely capture the villains and disarm the bomb."
"Though in a real situation, if he didn't know the full layout about their opponent, what he did could have injured hostages. Shoji's Quirk came in handy here as well," Izuku commented, his scribbling in overdrive.
"Excellent answers, all of you!" boomed the top Hero, "Now, while young Hagakure and Koda warm up, let us move on." He picked through the box again. "Team F will be the Heroes! Team G will be the Villains!"
Tamaki felt an arm around her shoulders. "Let's go, teammate!" chirped an excited Himiko, "Our first adventure!"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming," Tamaki sighed as the two teams headed out.
Izuku was already working on notes for the heroes as Ochako asked him a question. "Who do you think is gonna win?"
He hummed. "Jirou's got a Quirk that lets her hear really well, so she probably can hear them coming. At the same time, Tamaki has higher agility and athleticism, and if she can act enough like a cat, that could let her sneak around more easily." As he said this, he had already sketched out Tamaki's outfit and added notes.
"Do you have a book just on us?" Ochako wondered.
"I started a notebook for the class, yeah. I've only done your page and Tamaki's so far," he answered, shrugging.
The brunette beamed and looked up to watch the test.
Tamaki was stretching while also looking at her smiling teammate. Toga wore a gray, skin tight ninja bodysuit, showing a toned body and a modest bust, along with a gray oni facemask. Along her waist were a pair of serrated knives, a long black case and smaller white can. "Hey, what's your Quirk?" Tamaki asked.
"Hm? Oh, mine? I call it Transform. All I need is a little bit of blood and I can turn into anyone! The bodysuit is for added protection if I get into a fight without it active,"Toga grinned.
"A Quirk that uses blood…and yet you're a hero? No offense, I mean, it sounds like a decent Quirk and all," the dark-haired girl amended quickly, reminding herself that one of their teachers was Vlad King.
Toga paid no mind, she'd obviously heard that before. "Heroes get into such crazy predicaments, it's exciting what trouble we can get into! Villains might be dangerous, but they are too boring, too predictable. Heroics, you don't know what each day can bring, and I'm here for the chaos!" she giggled. "Say! I got an idea! Let me have a sample, we can totally throw off Jirou-chan!"
Tamaki was about to refute this, but stopped before hesitantly holding up her arm. "H-how much do you need? Your not gonna drain me?"
The blood user unclipped the black case. "For fifteen minutes? Just a poke. I promise these needles and knives are clean," she said, pulling out a needle from her black case. Tamaki gulped and held out her pointer finger. Toga grinned and pulled the blood sample and sucked it down before putting it in the white case.
"Hero Team, you may begin!" All Might called out. The two heroes split up, Toga going inside while Tamaki's Quirk manifested and started to climb the walls. As Toga ran, her form started to melt and twist in the darkness.
With the villain team, who did have a way of figuring out where their opposition was, Kyouka listened carefully, dressed in what could be described as a gothic rock outfit, a black leather jacket over a pinkish, red shirt and black jeans over dark combat boots.
"Anything?" Kaminari asked. His outfit consisted of a black jacket over a white shirt, black pants and a pair of headphones.
"I hear two heartbeats…they're splitting up. One's climbing the walls, the other…is coming through the halls. Damn, I can't tell who's who."
"We just gotta protect this room for fifteen minutes right, just point them out, I'll zap them!" Denki boasted only to get a short poke in the ear.
"Can it, we don't know what they got going. Just focus on the door."
Denki nodded and watched the door closely. Seconds later, he heard a scratching, then a large bang from a large impact, probably a kick. "Villains, open up! Your time's come!" Tamaki's voice shouted out.
"You want this bomb?" Kyouka answered back. "Come get it!"
"Then don't mind if I do!" Tamaki's voice came from…above?
"What the?" Denki shouted as Tamaki crashed through the vents and landed on the floor with a wild smile. He pointed his fingers and charged up his Quirk. "Your not gonna get this bomb hero, "Thousand Volt Shock-GRRK!" As he focused on his first opponent, his other opponent appeared, revealing…a second Tamaki?
"HUH?" Jirou gasped, her momentary surprise allowing the first Tamaki to tackle her and bind her quickly with the tape. She then rushed the bomb and touched it.
"HERO TEAM WINS!" All Might shouted. "A well executed pincer move, Hero team. Return to base!"
Jirou looked at both Tamakis and frowned. "Two Kotasu-sans?"
The one who tackled Jirou grinned and began to melt revealing it was Toga with a wild smile. "A body changing Quirk?"
"That's right~ I can become anyone with a little blood. Don't worry, my knives are clean!" Toga grinned as she removed some of her Quirks goop.
"Okay, a little freaky…no offense," Denki commented, rubbing his head.
Toga waved it off. "As long as I can fight, what people think of my Quirk is irrelevant, especially when there's danger."
Jirou hummed, before nodding in respect. "That's pretty metal."
The group of four walked back in and the Number 1 Hero turned to the class. "Alright folks, the MVP was Toga-san. Any reasons why?
"Jirou-chan probably could hear where they were coming from," Ochako posited, holding up a hand, "So by hiding who was who, they could sneak up on them. The twin bill act was awesome despite only being together for just over five minutes.
Toga grinned and walked up to the brunette, giving her a brief hug. "Thanks, Ochako-chan~!"
The gravity user blushed at the hug as All Might coughed. "Very well thought out, Uraraka. Now onto the next match." He rolled through the 6 balls remaining in the box. He pulled out two and chuckled. "Well how about that. Team C, you're the Hero Team. Team I, you're gonna be the Villains!'
Tenya coughed. "Well! I never thought I would be the villain in this exercise, but I will do my best. Asui-san, are you ready?"
The green haired girl ribbeted, dressed in a dark green divers suit with frog like flippers and yellow goggles. "Yeah. And you can all call me Tsuyu-chan, please."
The taller man nodded, and together they headed toward the building to prepare their defenses. Meanwhile, Ochako met up with her teammate. Sero was dressed in a black and white bodysuit, with several orange stripes on his sleeves. On his shoulders were two orange shoulder pads shaped like tape dispensers. His helmet was similarly shaped, with a dark visor that came down over his face.
"So what's your Quirk? Something with your elbows?" Ochako asked.
"Yep, it's Tape," he grinned, flexing his arms. "Got a lot of tape to swing around and tie people up. I can cut it off, or reel it back in, plus I can make it single or double-sided."
"So if I make myself lighter, you think you can carry me up? So we can take on Iida-kun and Asui?"
"Definitely. Got a plan once we're up there?"
While the heroes discussed entry plans, in the room with the bomb on the third floor, Tenya sighed. "To think my first heroic lesson would involve me being a villain."
Tsuyu tilted her head. "You do realize it's just an exercise, right? No one's gonna think any less of you," she told him bluntly.
"You're right. An institution like Yuuei Academy wouldn't do this without a good reason," Iida nodded. Clearing his throat, he started laughing like a madman. "MWAHAHAHA, fear me heroes! The Speed demon and the Frog Mistress will stop you here!"
Tsuyu blinked slowly at. "You really get into these roles huh."
"Hero Team! You may enter the building!"
Instead of entering the building, Sero walked to the side and fired off a string of tape up the side. Ochako activated her quirk on both herself and on Sero and got on his back. "Ready?" He asked.
"Let's go!"
The two quickly climbed each floor, swinging back and forth as they scanned each floor. When they got to the third floor, they spotted the two 'villains' watching the door. The two heroes glanced at each other and nodded before Sero pushed off and swung back as far as the tape would stretch. Then, as they swung forward, Ochako returned his gravity, letting the momentum carry them into the windows.
The first indication that Iida and Tsuyu got that their opponents had found them was the glass breaking. The shower of glass caused them to flinch which was enough for Sero to get a drop kick in and Ochako to land in safety.
"Hey there, thought we'd drop in." Sero grinned behind his helmet.
"Ah yes, Tape Man and Infinity Girl, how nice. You won't get this bomb!" Tenya gloated, causing the two 'heroes' to sweatdrop at his theatrics.
"Yeah, I had the same reaction," saud Tsuyu, before launching her tongue out at Ochako to try and bind her. The brunette danced out of the way, before grabbing some scattered debris and throwing it, using her Quirk to negate its weight and send them flying like shrapnel at high speed. Only Tsuyu's reflexes kept her from being turned into a pincushion, leaping high up into the air to evade the rocketing rubble. From her far away perch, Tsuyu watched as Ochako looked around for more ways to get to her. As the frog girl waited, the brunette pressed her fingertips together, but with her hands twisted in opposite directions. When she kicked off, she launched herself weightlessly into the air.
With the boys, Sero was debating whether to laugh his ass off or shake his head. Iida was getting a little too into his role. "AHAHAHAHA, you're running out of time, hero. In only six minutes, the bomb will blow up taking us all.
Sero snickered. "Is that minutes to the bomb blowing up or is it the time till you run out of one liners?"
"I shall make a great tape ball from the remains of your Quirk!" Iida growled and charged at the swinging hero. Sero was slightly fasters and fired fired his quirk at the back wall, beginning a chase around the room and almost running into the girls as they fought each other. Five minutes later, they were at a standstill, but more importantly Iida had his back to the bomb and Ochako.."
"Now'd I hate to say that it's been fun talking, but I gotta run, there's a cat in a tree that needs me," Sero grinned, firing a stream of tape past Iida.
The speedster instinctively ducked. "Your aim could use some work, Hero!"
"Wasn't aiming at you, Speedy Gonzalez!" the Tape user snarked, pulling it tight. His opponent turned around to see tape wrapped around Uraraka's wrist, the girl grinning and saluting Tsuyu before she freely flew right over to the bomb. Sero let go, letting the gravity user fly like a dart onto the bomb.
"GOT IT!" She cheered as she hugged it.
"NO! CURSE YOU SERO THE TAPE MAN!" India cried.
"HERO TEAM WINS!" All Might declared over the coms. "Impressive all around you four. Please come on back.
Iida dramatically fell to his knees. "No, how could I let the heroes win!"
"Kero, the exercise is over. You can stop acting," Tsuyu told him blithely.
Iida stood up stiffly. "Right, of course. It's only the first day." He marched out with his classmates, none the worse for wear.
Once back in the control room, All Might cleared his throat. These combats were going fast which suited him fine. "Alright ladies and gentlemen, the MVP was Sero-san." The named student started in surprise, but then rubbed his head, grinning broadly. "Can anyone tell me why?
"His quirk, while it's not flashy, was really versatile for the exercise," Tamaki said, "Rather than run in head first, he worked with Uraraka's Quirk to scale the walls, minimizing the threat to themselves and any potential civilians."
"In addition, being able to move in multiple directions allowed him to set up the game winning move and toss Uraraka-san onto the bomb. There is great combination potential with it," Momo added.
"Excellent deductions you two. Remember everyone this is your first exercise, there is always room to improve." He gazed at Iida and Tsuyu with his usual smile. "You might not have won today but there's always a lesson in defeat."
Tsuyu ribbited and Tenya nodded in affirmation.
Izuku was watching the breakdown and idly sketching in his notebook when All Might picked the next match. "Our fourth match will be…Team A as the Heroes…and Team D as the villains."
Izuku shot up when he heard his team and then glanced towards Bakugou, who gave him a mad grin in return. "You and me, devil! I'm gonna make sure you learn your place!
Izuku's own shark-like grin appeared. "Bring it on! Let's see if it'll stick this time, Bakugou!"
End of Chapter
UO: That was a doozy. So a lot of changes here. To start we have Tamaki from Fire Force joining the 1A class. Her Quirk is her ability from the series, yes she has cat abilities yes she loses her clothes regularly.
Also joining in is Toga, who instead of being blood obsessed is an adrenaline junkie. For Fire Force fans she's basically Inca who can sniff out Infernals or in this series Novae.
Finally, Yai is not an OC. She is in fact Arrow from the White Clad, the big bads of the series. Her name means Arrow and yes she is our favorite Toku fan's sister.
They are replacing Mineta, cause I don't care for him, Ojiro and Sato.
NS: We also figured we might as well speed through the Quirk Assessment, since we've all heard it a million times at this point.
UO: Oh yeah, Fuyumi is a TA here, that's not gonna change anything right?
As for fire equipment, I will bring up terms as relevant however the following are the three types you will see on a regular basis in real life.
Ladders: They are probably the thing you think of when you think of a Fire truck. They are the ones with the big ladders on it that help with high rise fires. They can also help in search and rescue.
Engines: The other most common type. Most fire districts divide their firemen into Engine and Ladder companies. Engine companies are your typical first line trucks that are often the first scene for anything. They will have equipment to breach structures and will often be the ones calling more people in.
Rescue trucks: these have all the technical things they could be used to make harder rescues doable. Saws, generators, winches and the Jaws of life are in these trucks.
Preview: Izuku gets his first chance to really show off his skills in his first class. But outside school, the chessboard begins to move.
Next Time: A Dance with the Devils.
