I came upon this older story I posted a while back and I have decided to continue with it, like I originally planned. So I had a series of episodes I was going to post that revolved around Season 4 (The original Title of this was called Adventures of Season Four), but I've changed it up a little (Now that we are way beyond Season Four haha) and now this is just going to be it's own thing! Our favorite trio races off into the depths of space while the 'rents are heading out on their big 'date night'. Enjoy the read!

...

The ship opened up, along with the clattering of beer cans, as they toppled out of the car. Rick and Morty stepped out of the ship first, followed by Summer. They made their way to the soda shop, the kids pausing and gawking at the ginormous place. Rick walked ahead, his face nonchalant. Just how many times had he been here before?

Rick had told them this was an impressively big place, but they weren't expecting a pasty white 10-story building. From where they stood, Summer and Morty could see that the top three floors of the building held what looked like a freaking water park with all sorts of beings going down the rides. The first three floors contained the magnificent soda shop that also held various knick-knacks and souvenirs. The floors in between appeared to house some sort of offices, most likely for the people who housed the minds behind the creation of this place.

Through the window of the first floor, there appeared to be a water fountain that contained, not surprisingly, a substance that certainly was not water – or, at least, it was not clean water. The kids assumed the dark liquid was some kind of soda, as different aliens gathered around it and filled their large cups to the brim with whatever was being spewed out.

"Grandpa Rick, what exactly is this place?" Summer asked as the two teens hurried to catch up to the old man.

"Only one of the most popular soda shop-slash-park stops in the multiverse. It's called Soda 'N Splash."

"A soda water park?" Morty inquired, somewhat intrigued but also weirded out. "But, w-wouldn't that be kind of gross and also make you really sticky?"

"Well yeah. It is soda, Morty," Rick responded. "They actually get around that here by spraying you down with this special fluid before you go down the rides. That way you don't have to come off feeling sticky. But it only lasts for a certain amount of time before you have to go get sprayed again. Unless, of course, you want to feel sticky all over. In which case, who am I to judge?"

"Damn! Yeah that is pretty cool," Summer said.

"Yeah, it is," Rick sounded like he was done with this conversation before taking a swig from his flask. "Now, are we going to just keep standing here talking about this place or do you guys want to go and check it out?"

Morty and Summer both voiced their agreeance to go in, and their eyes bulged upon seeing all the various kinds of 'soda' that the establishment offered.

There were, of course, the usual sodas they were familiar with back on Earth. Then there were drinks that the two teens had never even heard of, but were ecstatic to try out.

Upon being seated at a booth, Rick excitedly ordered himself something called a 'Fulatharob' before ordering two 'Shlerpers' for his grandkids to try. The waitress nodded before hurrying off.

"Uh, Rick, what were those drinks?" Morty asked.

"How-how about you just wait until she brings them out and find out for yourself, huh, Morty? Won't be nearly as fun if I spoil the surprise now, would it?" Rick sat back in his seat and began casually people-watching as he sipped some more from his flask.

Summer, to Morty's dismay, fished her phone out of her pocket after looking around the vicinity very briefly. She got comfortable in her seat as she began scrolling.

"Really, Summer? We're in a cool new place like this and you're already back to your phone?"

Summer didn't even look up at him as she responded.

"No offense, Morty, but only you would be as excited about a soda shop as you are now. It's basically like a soda shop on Earth, only it's in space. So, forgive me for not being in awe over a bunch of space pop."

"Space pop?! Are you kidding me, Summer?" Rick looked at his granddaughter incredulously. "This place is so much more than that! You don't get it. But, oh, I'm sorry. You're a teenage girl. If there's not a hot guy involved that makes your fallopian tubes throb, then it's not worth your time, right? Never mind the fact that there's a simple drink here that you could give to a hot guy to make him instantly fall for you."

Summer looked up at him from her phone, her eyes widened.

"What? Are you- that is so cool! Are you being serious right now?"

"No, don't be ridiculous. But thank you for proving my point," Rick downed the last of what was in his flask while Morty stifled a snicker.

Summer scoffed, glaring at her grandpa.

"Whatever," she muttered as she continued with her text responding to Tricia.

The waitress beamed at the trio as she returned with their drinks. She spoke in a different language as she greeted them and set their drinks down in front of them.

"Fulatharob," she said as she put a fluorescent pink drink down in front of Rick. He smiled appreciatively back at her, surprising the kids by responding to her in her language.

"Ahh, so much better than Pepsi," he said serenely after taking a big gulp.

Morty and Summer perked up with keen curiosity when the waitress placed their drinks down. Their interest quickly died, however, when they saw just what a 'Shlerper' was. The tall glasses each contained dark, moss green colored fluid that instantly repulsed the teens.

"Umm, what the hell? Is this a joke?" Summer asked in disgust, her eyes closely examining the drink.

"Ugh, it smells like grass," Morty remarked as he took a whiff and then pushed his drink away, looking revolted.

The waitress scoffed and proceeded to say something in an angry tone to them. However, due to not being able to understand her, the kids were stumped in what to say back. They simply stared at her, wide-eyed.

"Honestly, you two," Rick looked at the teens with mild annoyance before he addressed the waitress. Her expression showed that she was calming down as she spoke with the older man.

Rick leaned in closer to the lady like he was telling her a secret. He jerked a thumb back toward the kids as a smirk came onto his face. The waitress laughed and said something in response that made Rick start laughing. She then looked at the two teens, tried and failed to stifle her own laughter, then walked away from their booth.

"What… was that?" Summer asked, staring Rick down challengingly.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Rick stared back, unwavering. "Look, just drink the Shlerpers, you guys. I paid a -burp- good amount for these drinks and I'm not about to see that go to waste."

"B-but it looks like- "

"Looks like the slimy, regurgitated innards of a frog, yes. But looks are almost always deceiving, Morty. Re-remember when you went to kiss that girl on the Shmeeler 12 planet that you thought was hot, and she wound up pulling out a- "

"Ok, no, no, no. Don't bring that up," Morty quickly shut his grandfather up as he shrank in his seat, blushing in embarrassment.

"Come on, just-just take a sip. You might find you like it. In fact, I guarantee that you'll like it. Give new 'alien' things a try now and then, huh?"

Morty pondered this as he looked at his glass for a second. Then, he cautiously lifted the green drink to his lips. Summer watched him with disgust. Morty's eyes widened as he lowered the cup.

"Holy shit. Summer, y-you've got to try it."

"What does it taste like?"

"I-I can't say, just try it!"

Rick remained silent; a smug, knowing smirk formed on his face as he looked between the two kids.

Rolling her eyes, Summer grabbed her Shlerper. After groaning with uncertainty for a second, she finally took a sip of the green liquid.

"Well, what do you think?" Rick asked, both his and Morty's eyes glued to her.

"Oh my God!" Summer exclaimed. "That's so good!"

"Right? Better than any soda on Earth, isn't it?"

"You got that right," Summer replied before guzzling down the rest of her drink.

"Mhm, blows them all away," Morty agreed after downing his and licking his lips.

The waitress soon came by again and took their emptied glasses. She asked Rick something and he promptly answered. What was said, the kids had no clue. She returned shortly after, this time dropping off another of Rick's 'Fulatharob' drinks and two glasses filled with a bright blue substance. They looked shiny too, like they might have had sparkles added to them.

"Whoa," Morty said, already grabbing his glass in excitement.

"So pretty," Summer said, mesmerized, as she quickly took a photo of her new drink. "What's this one?"

"Try it," Rick answered. "It's a popular flavor here among some of the alien species."

Morty and Summer began eagerly drinking the fancy looking liquid. The last drink was so delicious, after all, this one had to be just as good – if not better, right? However…

"Ugh, bleh!" Summer immediately set down her glass and tried not to throw it all back up.

Morty gagged, spitting some of his drink back into the glass.

Guests at two nearby tables turned and looked at them with weirded-out expressions.

Rick laughed heartily beside the kids.

"Like- ha ha, like I said, looks are always deceiving."

"Rick, what the hell was that one?" Morty coughed.

"Basically what it would be like if you blended, say, earthworms, soap and black licorice all together."

The kids gave him horrified looks.

"I know, nasty," Rick snickered. "But it really is a popular drink around here."

Rick gestured to the next table over, where a younger kid was given the same drink as Morty and Summer. This kid, however, quickly drank the liquid and showed no signs of any disgust. In fact, he took the glass and licked up any remnants that were still there when he had finished.

"I told the lady to bring it out next so I could see the reactions from you guys. Same trick got pulled on me my first time here by my buddy, Philmore. He later regretted doing that."

"Philmore?" Morty inquired.

"Eh, you guys won't be meeting him," Rick said, going back to sipping his own drink.

"Well, thanks to you, I'm now not drinking anything besides water while we're here," Summer groaned, shrinking back into her seat once more.

Rick continued snickering and sipping down his 'Fulatharob'. Morty and Summer looked up as he suddenly started choking on his drink, hitting his chest as he coughed. He was staring, wide-eyed, at something towards the front of the shop.

The kids looked to see two workers exchanging boxes with one another. One was taking away a box that advertised the familiar-looking pink drink that Rick was drinking. That same alien was giving the other one a box that showed off a golden-colored drink with a name that neither teen could pronounce.

"Holy crap! It's back!" Rick stated in excitement and surprise.

"What? What is it?" Morty asked.

"Only what was probably the best drink I've ever had! But they said it was discontinued. What the hell?"

Rick got up out of the booth and began walking over to where their waitress was at the cash register.

"Okay, in case this is another nasty drink prank, you get to be the taste tester again," Rick heard Summer say.

"What? No way!" Morty replied.

"Hey, I'll take three of those, uh, those golden drinks – I don't remember what they were called," Rick told the waitress in her language as he approached. She blinked at him, her expression unreadable.

"Three of them, please," Rick repeated himself. Did she not understand him now or something?

"I-I am sorry," she responded hurriedly. "Those are not yet available."

"Come again?" Rick asked quizzically. "I just saw them get brought in."

"Sir, we are getting ready to promote the drink. But we can't sell it just yet. The time is not right."

Rick's face dropped. There was no way he was leaving here without that amazing beverage. Absolutely no way.

Morty came up beside Rick as the waitress apologized and walked away.

"Rick, can you tell Summer that this isn't another prank drink of yours? Now she's trying to blackmail me into trying to- "

Rick turned and grabbed onto both of Morty's shoulders.

"Listen, Morty! The-they're not selling the drink yet!"

"The drink?"

"The drink, Morty! That amazing drink I was just telling you guys about! So you and me are going back there and we're going to get it ourselves, Morty! Th-this thing is about as delicious as that Szechuan sauce, and I'm not leaving here without it!"

"Wait, what? Rick, w-we can't just go back there and take it!"

"Sure we can, Morty," Rick began pushing Morty towards the front counter and back behind the cash register. "It'll be as easy as taking candy from an already distracted baby, which I've done several times."

He looked around to see the waitress going back and forth at the tables as she assisted other customers. He looked to his right to see a door that led into the back of the shop.

"Okay, here we go," Rick hurried through the door, dragging a distressed Morty along behind him.
