She and Zuko are married at a really young age (further explanation in the first chapter), but they have to part when Zuko is banished. What will become of them when the avatar returns? It had been five years since the defeat of the Fire Lord, and they had all grown older. Aang himself had turned 18 just a few months prior. And at the moment, they were travelling to a small village in the Earth Kingdom, where Suki had led them to under almost no explanation. Although Zuko had been worried, Toph had insisted on going.

A second after the solar eclipse and firebending returns to the world, Ozai shoots lightning towards Zuko. A second after that, born of instinct inside every human being, Zuko dodges. Instead of running away from his father, Zuko faces him. Not willing to put the weight of the world on a 13 year old's shoulders, Zuko fights. He screams for all to hear. "Agni Kai!"
