"Carmilla?!"
She groaned a little under her breath seriously considering digging her cell phone from her pocket soon to use as a flashlight given the uneven ground she was still stumbling through.
"Laura?"
The blonde gives a small sigh in gratitude despite the fact the new voice melting out of the darkness a few steps ahead of her wasn't the vampire she was hunting for.
"Danny, hey when did you get back?" Laura asks in surprise considering the last she'd heard Danny was still in something called the Ghost River Triangle finishing up some kind of super-secret internship.
"Pretty much now. I haven't even dropped by the Zeta's yet" The taller girl shrugged "but I'm not the one you were hoping to run into just now, was I?" Danny goes on considering that regardless of Laura's attempt at an honest conversation her eyes where still darting around in a vain attempt to spot any other movement in the darkened trees for any hint at the possible direction her fleeing girlfriend had gone.
"I'm worried about Carm." Laura agreed still only half listening to what was being said. "Not that I'm not happy to see you." She adds in a poor attempt to lessen the sting of her partial rejection.
"But I'm no Carmilla." Danny sighed her hands fisting deeper into the pockets of the jacket Laura assumed had belonged to Kirsch at some point.
"It's just Carm got a huge shock a little while ago thanks to the stupid Zadas." Laura sighed running a hand through her hair. "like major blood coffin flashbacks and will be maybe, definitely be having nightmares for weeks if not months because of it kind of shock."
"What happened?" Danny questioned as the two fell into step as they make their way slowly back towards the Silas University campus.
Laura takes a deep breath before she attempts to explain.
(Que flashback text)
"Duds you can't cut out yet." Kirsch says in that goofy hurt puppy way of his that always made Laura amused yet hurt to hear from the 'big lug' as Carm called him. "at least come check out the DHT before you leave" the frat boy-man (also a Carmilla favored nickname) decides looking between the couple hopefully.
"DHT?"
Carm and Laura glanced at one another puzzled "what the heck is a DHT?'
Rather than answer Kirsch clapped each of them on the shoulder and began guiding them towards the frat house backyard. "I give you" The jock starts to say as they walked.
Laura's eyes widened in the start of understanding and growing worry when they hear the sounds of heavy splashing coming from ahead of them.
"the devils hot tub" Kirsch finished with a proud smile at the Zada's new swimming pool seems to be filled to the brim with bloody water but before he could explain about his fellow Zada's cool idea to paint the underside of the pool red instead of the costumed blue a literal giant black cat that was Carmilla in panther form could be seen waving her way wildly towards any direction other than the Zada's back yard.

"That's…." Danny starts to say only to pause with a long-exhaled breath Laura knew she didn't need to take before she starts again. "That's uah… that's well wow."
"Will you help me look for her?" Laura pleads "I just…I don't want her to be alone right now and…" she stops at Danny's hand against her arm.
"I already have an idea where to look." The more 'baby fanged' vampire offers the hand against the human's arm sliding down until Danny's fingers interlace with Laura's own. "but you have to trust me if you want to get there quicker."
Laura gulps a little but nodes once far surer of her answer if it meant getting to Carm faster.
Danny smiles sweeping her former crush into her arms with a warning "Close your eyes." Before she takes on at a more vampire-worthy speed.
