YEAR 0 WINTER DAY 28
Dear Diary,
I am so bored.
It's winter; there's nothing to do.
I can't go outside without catching a cold. I can't hang out with anyone, because they're further up the hill and the path between us is buried in like four feet of snow. I've already been hiking a million times, and frankly no matter how beautiful the scenery is - it's easy to get bored of it.
... and worst of all, the cable has been damaged by a storm a few days ago! Not only are the phone lines down in the whole town, but the internet too! (Not that my computer is good enough to do anything reasonable, but that's beside the point.) I can't even watch TV to pass the time. Ugh, the very fact I'm writing in a diary is enough evidence that I'm bored out of my mind. I checked the last entry in this book and it swear it was from fourth grade... figures.
Anyways, times like these make me wish there was some excitement in this place. Hell, I just wish something happened once in a while. Everything's the same around here. A cycle that repeats year after year after year. Its like clockwork... I'm like clockwork, and I hate it. I want something new!
It doesn't even need to be something good. Just some change would be nice. I've never really been religious, but I prayed fervently during The Feast of The Winter Star for something cool to happen. Of course, I felt like an idiot afterwards, but whatever. I guess I'm so bored that I'm desperate.
Well, I heard that some new farmer is moving into the big abandoned farm at the west edge of the town. The grandson of some old dude who died forever ago. I mean, technically he's new, but I doubt he'll make anything exciting around here. He's just going to be some lame farmer who waters crops all day...
Anyways... I guess I'll be writing in here until the cable is repaired.

YEAR 1 SPRING DAY 2
Dear Diary,
It's Spring, the cable still isn't repaired. I went and hung out with friends for a bit, but all we talked about was how bored we were. It's great hanging out with friends, I guess, but 'I did nothing for the past month' isn't a great topic for conversation. Anyways, we decided to go check up on The New Farmer guy who showed up yesterday (First day of spring, lucky him, he doesn't need to suffer the snowstorm). We showed up on The Farm and just wandered around, but the guy was nowhere to be seen.
Abby was with us and she was super surprised though. She mention that she often goes exploring in the old farm, and swears by her life the place was a super dense forest just yesterday. Well in any case, when we visited, the entire farm was just bare, tilled dirt... which I guess is strange? Stuff would have probably grown over the past... thirty years of sitting unattended. Whatever. I don't know. I haven't got the slightest clue about farming and the guy has been working on the farm, right?
Maybe he just chopped down the entire forest in a single day?
I proposed the idea to Abby and she just laughed, nervously mind you.
Anyways, we hung around for a bit longer, but when The Farmer didn't show up, we decided to just leave. Maybe I'll go fishing or something... but that might be even more boring than standing in an empty field and looking at the dirt.

YEAR 1 SPRING DAY 4
Dear Diary.
So um, I think I saw The Farmer guy.
Like, he was just sprinting really fast across the town square like his life depended on it. I'm pretty sure I've never seen a person run that fast, haha... he must have really been in a hurry.
I didn't get a good look at him, but it really looked like he was wearing a full suit of armour. I went and told Sebastian and Abby, but they just laughed at me and asked if I needed glasses.
But honestly I swear he was wearing a suit of armour, cape and all... and just running.
Next time I'm gonna try and follow him to see what he's up to. Something like that is suspicious right?
And besides, isn't it common courtesy to introduce yourself to the people in town when you move in? I talked to a couple of people, but nobody even knew his name. I think I'll go tomorrow and ask Mayor Lewis about the new guy.
Since he's a weirdo who sprints everyone in a suit of armour, he might be interesting enough to be entertaining.
Maybe the Winter Star granted my wish after all.

YEAR 1 SPRING DAY 7
Dear Diary,
Yesterday I finally got around to talking to Mayor Lewis. The Mayor said he and Robin greeted The Farmer when he arrived, and they got his name: 'John Terraria'. And, you know what? My eyes didn't deceive me. The Mayor said he was wearing a full suit of armour when he arrived on the bus! Honestly, I'm surprised the whole town isn't privy to that little bit of gossip by now. We're a small and tight knit community and news travels fast...
But the weird thing is, Mayor Lewis seemed pretty reluctant to talk about Mr. Terraria. He seemed kind of afraid actually... which might be suspicious? I'm sure it's nothing though. I know The Mayor has tons of dirty secrets. I bet John must have found some dirt on him or something.
Well, in any case, I figured out from Marlon (that old soldier dude) that John has been making trips to The Mines pretty much every day since arriving. Today I'm gonna see if I can see what he's up to. The mines can be pretty dangerous, so I recruited Abby and Alex to come with me. The three of us will be just fine, I'm just worried that John will discover us... it might be a bit awkward, haha.
Well, whatever it takes to kill the boredom.
The wifi still isn't back yet by the way. The Cable company is really taking their sweet time.

YEAR 1 SPRING DAY 8
Dear Diary,
I'm pretty sure John must have been a soldier or something before he took over the farm, because man - that guys knows how to fight.
We were going down into the mines with flashlights and stuff, but we honestly didn't need to. Every floor was lighted with torches... and every cave floor was absolutely covered with corpses. Hell, the corpses weren't even recognizable because of how finely they'd been diced - but the sheer volume of flesh piled up was almost mind boggling. I had no idea there were so many monsters that lived on a single floor of The Mines!
The upper floors absolutely stank. We had to wrap our jackets around our faces just to breathe. The bodies were rotting and there were tons of giant flies everywhere. As we descended, we found the kills to be fresher, but it still smelled really strongly of blood. Alex bailed after three floors, saying John Terraria was a psychopath. Abby stuck around though.
Eventually we caught up with him on... like floor 40 or something. I had never been this deep in the mines. Marlon said it was super dangerous to do so, but John really wasn't having issues. We descended the ladder and saw him ripping through skeletons with his bare hands.
It was then that he saw us. I heard his armour creak as he twisted his neck way past what was possible. He gazed at us through his slatted visor, then, after a moment turned his attention from the pile of bones he'd just dismantled.
I'm not sure what he did next, but he sort of waved his hand and a wall appeared right in front of us, then one to our left, and one to our right. He was trying to box us in! Luckily we managed to run. I swear, I've never run so fast in my life! We just took off and climbed 40 stories of ladders like it was nothing.
Holy moly!
