Disclaimer: I don't own Pokémon
A/N: this fanfiction will have elements from the games and manga. Pokemon from other series will pop up occasionally. Ash will be slightly more competent and prepared but he'll still be a rookie. There will be a harem, Misty is the first member. Feel free to suggest members, however me and my co-writers will have the final say. The main pokegirls are a part of it. This story will take inspiration from games and manga.
The world was full of wonder. In this world, many extraordinary creatures roam the earth. They are known as Pokemon. Many different species live across the globe. To many people, Pokemon were more than just pets. Human trainers and coordinators battled with pokémon in tests of strength and skill. Many trainers strive to be the best, but none more so than a young boy named Ash Ketchum.
In a quiet little town in the region of Kanto known as Pallet Town, a young boy wearing green and yellow pajamas was watching a Pokemon battle on his TV. It wasn't just any battle but a championship battle in which his father was now competing.
"Ash Ketchum!" A scolding voice came from his door.
The voice made the young boy jump before turning to see a woman with long dark brown hair tied in a ponytail that ended. She wore a pink shirt and a blue tube skirt. His mother, Delia 'Blue' Ketchum, was unhappy to see that he was still up. "You know you shouldn't be up, right? If you don't get to sleep, you won't be able to get a pokemon tomorrow." Delia reminded him, giving Ash a firm glare.
"Sorry, Mom," Ash apologized, rubbing his head. "I'm going to bed. I just wanted to see Dad battle. And it's almost over." Ash answered. His dad Richard 'Red' Ketchum, was the world's most outstanding Pokemon trainer. He had conquered all world regions and seen many Pokemon on his journeys. And Ash dreamed of being a great trainer just like him, and his dad had taught him many things about Pokemon, only the basics—the rest he would have to learn as he traveled when he turned 10.
His dad was in his life for the first seven or eight years, but he wasn't home very often because of his duties as a world champion. He would occasionally call to check on him and his mom. So for the last few years, his Mom had taught him since she was a trainer before she retired after settling down and having him. She even gave him 'the talk,' which had scared him for life, but she assured him it would come in handy if he met anyone special. Which made Ash gag, he wasn't interested in girls or dating at all.
"Really?" Asked Delia as she looked at the screen, seeing her husband, who looked like an older version of her son. He wore a red baseball hat with a pin on the front left side, a black t-shirt under a red and white unzipped jacket with a long flowing white cap, and pale blue jeans with red and white sneakers.
Red was currently staring down at his opponent—Bruno of the Kanto elite four, a master of fighting types. Bruno was a big muscular man with long black hair tied in a ponytail and black eyes. He wore no shirt showing off his chest and six-pack and was barefoot, only white martial arts pants held up by a black belt. Both trainers stared at each other with determination, and they had battled years ago when Red had challenged The elite four and knew they were both in a fierce battle. Red and his Charizard have removed most of Bruno's team to his last.
{Alright folks, for the last match, world champion Red and Bruno of the Kanto Elite Four! Red and his Charizard have all but swept Bruno's team. Can Bruno make a comeback?} the announcer.
"You're just as strong as ever, Red." Bruno smirked, showing great respect for his old friend.
Red just smirked back. "Thanks, Bruno, but it's time for me to wrap this up."
Bruno smirked and held out his last Pokeball. "Alright! Go!" he tossed the Pokeball into the air with a flash of white light and a large thud that shook the ground. Steelix appeared ready to battle.
{Oh! Bruno has sent out Steelix as his last pokemon. Can Red's Charizard beat Burno's Steelix!} the announcer said.
"Steelix, use Rock Slide!" Bruno shouted.
"Reehgge!" Steelix roared as dozens of rocks formed above Zard and began to fall toward the fire lizard.
"Zard, break 'em with Brick Break!" Red commanded.
Zard roared as the dragon clenched his fists as the rocks fell. Some got through and hit Zard, causing damage thanks to the Brick Break.
"Zard, can you still battle?" Red asked his pokemon.
Zard shook off the damage. He then looked at his trainer and gave him a firm nod. It was still in the fight.
Red smirked at his partner. "Alright, Zard Flamethrower!"
Zard then unleashed a powerful stream of fire at the Steel Snake. "Steelix, block it with Sandstorm!" Bruno called out.
Steelix's middle section began to rotate quickly, kicking up a flurry of sand that blocked the Flamethrower. The Sandstorm engulfed the area. The announcer and spectators could not see the trainers and pokemon. The sand made it hard for Zard to see his opponent.
"Try to keep it together, Zard!" Red called out
The announcer covered his face with his arm as the sand violently blew. {Incredible! Steelix used Sandstorm to block Flamethrower and conceal itself, can Red and his Charizard weather the storm?}
Ash just looked at the screen. "Come, dad, you can do it!" he cheered.
Delia smirked. "Don't worry; your dad has faced worse before." She said in a reassuring voice.
Ash nodded as he continued to watch, knowing his dad would win.
Red looked deep into the sandstorm. To most trainers who would be blind, however, he sees clearly. Red closed his eyes for a second dark blue energy appeared before it vanished.
Bruno smirked back before calling out. "Steelix, use Stone Edge!"
Two streams of rocks appeared, forming an X around Steelix's body before it released the stones at the blinded Zard. Red's shot open. "Zard! Fly up!" Red called out.
Zard did as told and flew up, dodging the Stone Edge. The fire lizard flew at high speed and broke through the sandstorm's top, knowing he could see clearly.
"Zard, snuff out that storm with Air Slash!" Red commanded.
"Rooarhgg!" Zard roared before flapping its wing, unleashing a blue beam slash. It cut through the Sandstorm, dissipating it, uncovering the field and Steelix, who just looked above.
"Yeah! Way to go, dad!" Ash cheered, happy his dad was able to deal with the Sandstorm.
'Smart thinking, honey.' Delia smirked. Using Air Slash to clear away the Sandstorm was a clever move.
{Amazing, Red was able to clear the sand. Now Steelix has nowhere to hide.}
"Let's take this from the top, Brick Break!" Red called out.
Zard then flew at Steelix and delivered a powerful chop to Steelix's head, slamming the steel snake into the ground and kicking up a dust cloud. The fire type landed and roared in victory.
"You're as good as always, my friend." Bruno smiled. "But don't think it's over yet."
"Huh?" Red uttered, confused.
Bruno then revealed that he had a keystone attached to a gauntlet that he was wearing on his hand.
"A keystone?" Red uttered. "So you've visited Kalos, huh?"
"Yes, my pokemon and I have traveled far to reach and surpass our limits, and this Keystone will help us break through those limits, right Steelix?" Bruno asked, holding up his Keystone.
Dust then exploded as Steelix rose, ready to continue the battle. "Rahhgh!" It roared in agreement.
'Should have known it had Sturdy as an ability.' Red smirked.
{ladies and Gentlemen! I can't believe it; the already intense battle has escalated significantly.}
Ash was confused. This was the first time he had ever heard of a Keystone. "Mom, what's a keystone?"
"Watch and see," Delia said, pointing at the TV.
Bruno then touched the Keystone, which began to glow. "Steelix Mega Evolve!" he shouted as streams of light shootout at Steelix, which absorbed into the Megastore around its neck.
Steelix then glowed blue as he transformed.
Steelix's body became longer, almost doubled in mass, and gained more features. Its eyes turn blue, and its lower jaw becomes more armored with a round, curved shape. A third pair of ridges appear on its bottom jaw and two sharp, flat structures with three conjoined projections on each side. The gray, rock-like spikes and their tail point have transformed into prism-like crystalline tips; the segments from which the ends protrude are much more significant. In between the head and individual spiked segments are smaller units, now adorned by a black spot with a blue hexagon on each side. Several metallic-looking scraps constantly rotated around its neck.
The crowd went wild at the sight of Mega Evolution. Even the announcer was taken aback by the Mega-Evolved pokemon.
{I-I have no words to express. We are witnessing the fabled Mega Evolution! Can Red and his Charizard handle this new problem? But with the damage it took earlier, can Mega Steelix keep it up, or will it crumble?}
With what the announcer said, it was clear that Mega Steelix was running on fumes. Red could see how tired it was and would soon run out of gas entirely. Bruno knew this as well, so he needed to end it fast.
"Alright, Steelix, use Sandstorm once more," Bruno shouted,
"Raaghhhhhh" Mega Steelix obeyed as the rocks with the large crystal spikes began spinning rapidly, causing a more powerful sandstorm.
{Folks, this sandstorm is much stronger than before. Can Red handle this, or will Bruno take his first win this round?}
"Zard, clear the field with Hurricane!" Red called out.
"Roarrgh!" Zard roared, and with a mighty flap from his wings, he created a powerful tornado of wind that blew away the sand again. However, Zard was met with Mega Steelix just in front of him.
"Now, Thunder Fang!" Bruno called out.
"Counter with Brick Break!" Red ordered.
With that, Jaw and Chop collide, generating shock waves that shake the whole stadium from both pokemon's power. Both pokemon struggled to make the other budged. The electricity from Mega Steelix's Thunder Fang surged through Zard, making it feel fatigued, but he refused to back down. However, Mega Steelix was starting to feel its energy drop rapidly. The damage from before was now beginning to show, as it was slowly being pushed back.
"Now!" Red called out.
With one powerful push, Zard sent Mega Steelix skitting back. The Mega Pokemon skidded to a stop, glaring at Zard, who was panting. Everyone in the stadium was anxious about both pokemon, wondering who would fall.
Mega Steelix fell forward, hitting the ground hard, before reverting to its normal form.
The announcer was speechless for a second before he spoke up. {What a fantastic finish! And the winner is Red Ketchum!} he said, pointing to Red, who waved a hand.
Bruno returned Steelix to its Pokeball and smirked. "You did great." Bruno said.
"That was a good job, Zard," Red smirked as his pokemon nodded before he returned him to his Pokeball.
"That was a great match, my friend." Bruno smiled as he walked up to Red, offering a handshake.
Red smiled and shook his hand. "Yes, it was a great match. I can't wait for another battle with you Bruno." Red smiled.
{with that, this battle is over. We wish you all a good evening until next time, and we'll see you soon, trainers} The Announcer said.
Ash cheered ecstatically, and he knew his dad would win the battle. However, the TV was then turned off. Ash turned to see his mom holding the remote.
"Now that you are done watching, it's bedtime," Delia told her son.
"Alright, mom." Ash nodded and prepared to get ready for bed.
Delia smiled; she knew he was excited about getting his first pokemon. Ash had always wanted to be like his father. And Ash dreams of one day battling him to be the best, and that was a day Richard and even she believed he would do.
"So, have you decided on a starter yet?" Delia asked. She was wondering what her son would pick.
"I'm not sure yet." Ash said his mind was split between Bulbasaur, his Dad's first, well, second pokemon, since his first actual pokemon was his Poliwrath, Poli when it was a Poliwag, and it evolved in order to save his dad's life. The second was Squirtle, his mom's starter and one of her best pokemon until it became a Blastoise before she gave it to his father. Although her first Pokemon was a Jigglypuff which she nicknamed Jiggly. And finally, Charmander, who belonged to his rival's dad, Green Oak or Gary Oak Sr. Who was his Dad's rival and best friend. But Green's first pokemon was a Scyther who evolved into a powerful Scizor. And just like their dads, Ash and Gary Oak Jr also have a rivalry. Competing in almost everything trying to do the other out, Gary usually beat him in most of them, and tomorrow Gary would also get his pokemon, which he vowed to beat him in.
Ash finished putting on his pajamas. He turned to Delia. "Whichever pokemon you pick, you'll form a bond that will last for a lifetime." Delia said as she turned off the light. "Good night Son," she said, shutting the door.
"Night, mom. See you tomorrow." Ash said as he struggled to sleep, too excited because tomorrow he'll finally obtain his first pokemon.
'Watch out, world, and Ash Ketchum will be the greatest there ever was. Even better than you, dad.' Ash thought as he finally drifted off to sleep.
The following day Ash was awoken by the sound of his alarm. The now 10-year-old groaned as he pressed the button on the top of his Voltob clock. Ash sat up and yawned. He checked his alarm clock and saw that it was 6:30, so he had 3 hours before heading to Professor Oak's lab.
'Good thing I set my alarm to 6:30. Now I have time to get ready, and I can beat Gary to the lab first,' Ash thought as he quickly dressed. His outfit consisted of his father's signature red hat, a sleeveless, unzipped blue jacket, a white stripe down the center, and a black t-shirt underneath and green fingerless gloves. He also had blue jeans and gray sneakers.
Ash grinned, feeling like he could take on the world. The aroma of food touched his nose, and his stomach growled. Ash rushed downstairs and into the kitchen. He saw his mom, who had just finished preparing breakfast for him.
"Good morning, Ash. I see you're up and ready." Delia smiled.
"Yep, I'm all ready to leave!" Ash ecstatically exclaimed.
Delia just chuckled at her son's enthusiasm. The Ketchum matriarch placed a plate of scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, and a glass of orange juice on the table.
"Thanks mom." Ash said, sitting down before scarfing down his food.
"Ash Ketchum! Just because today is your birthday doesn't mean you can forget your manners!" Delia reprimanded, like her husband, her son had terrible table manners and would stuff their faces. She always had to remind them not to eat like a couple of Tempigs.
Ash swallowed his food and chuckled sheepishly. He apologized. He wanted to finish fast so he could get to the lab before Gary.
Delia shook her head and knew both she and Red. They could be impatient when they were younger, so their son inherited that from them. "So, have you decided?" Deila asked.
Ash thought for a second but still hadn't decided which starter pokemon he wanted. "I'll be honest, mom, I still don't know which starter to choose." Ash replied
"Well, you have time to decide; you have 2 hours to do so." Delia said.
Ash nodded as he finished his breakfast before he got out of his seat and ran to the door. "Sorry, mom, I'll see you around!"
Delia called out, but it was too late, and her son was already gone. Delia laughed. She wondered where the boy got his energy.
Ash raced down the trail to Professor Oaks' lab. As soon as he poached the bridge, he would need to cross to get to where he needed to be; he was met by his childhood friend and rival Gary Oak, the son of Green as well as the grandson of Professor Oak.
Gary was a tall, thin young man with light skin, brown eyes, and tall, brown spiky hair. He wore a black buttoned shirt with a backpack, purple pants, and black shoes with blue laces. And he had a smug smile on his face.
"Well, well, about time, Ashy-boy." Gary smugly said.
Ash growled. He had woken up so early that he was sure Gary wouldn't beat him to it. "Damn it, Gary, how long have you been here?" Ash demanded.
Gary just smirked and turned his head. "Well, you're two minutes too slow, Ash-Boy."
Ash just clenched his hands into fists. "Grr!" Ash growled, annoyed. "Wait! You haven't beaten me yet! We aren't at the lab!" he exclaimed, pointing at Gary.
Gary just looked at Ash. "So what are you suggesting?"
"We settle this in a race." Ash challenged.
"Heheheheh." Gary laughed as if he had heard a bad joke. "You think you can beat me in a race?"
Ash then got in Gary's face and growled. "I can run faster than you any day, ass-hat!" Ash proclaimed.
Gary just smirked. "Alright then, the first one to my grandpa's lab gets to pick the starter first!" Gary shouted as he began to run.
"Hey, that's cheating!" Ash shouted before he ran after him.
"All fair in love and war, Ashy-boy!" Gary laughed.
The two boys ran as fast as they could. After a minute of running, Professor Oak's was in sight. Ash and Gary ran up the stairs and entered the door simultaneously. However, Ash and Gary were stuck in the door frame and were struggling to get free.
"Gary! Get out of the doorframe!" Ash shouted.
"Grr… you get out of the doorframe, fatty!" Gary growled.
"Fatty! I am not fat!" Ash shouted.
The two continued to struggle in the doorframe but to no avail. "My my, do you two need to act like this?" A voice questioned.
Ash and Gary looked to see an older man who wore a white lab coat over a lavender dress shirt, and he wore badged pants with dark brown dress shoes. The older man had a stern expression. He was Professor Oak, Kanto's leading expert on pokemon.
"Hey, grandpa, do you mind helping us?" Gary asked, embarrassed that his grandpa had to see him like this.
Professor Oak nodded before grabbing the boys by their shirts, and with a mighty yank, he pulled them out of the doorframe, falling onto the floor. The good Professor kept his stern demeanor as he placed his arms behind his back.
"Well, it seems you two are the early Pidgeys." Professor Oak commented.
Ash and Gary got to their feet. "Since you two are here, let us get you both settled." Professor Oak said, turning his back to both boys as he walked to his lab. Ash and Gary turned to each other and glared before they followed.
As they walked to the lab, the Prof spoke. "I should tell you there is a surprise for the both of you."
"Aww, gramps, why did you have to give Ashy-boy something?" Gary complained.
"Grr." Ash growled at Gary. 'And they say I'm spoiled?'
"No, stop it, Gary. This surprise is something that only two people can give you." Professor Oak said with a firm tone.
That left both of them confused, wondering what the Prof meant by that. They finally arrived at the lab, and both boys were surprised to see two grown men. The first was Ash's dad Red. The second was a man who looked like an older version of Gary, with a black t-shirt, gray pants, a pack attached to his waist, and black shoes. It was Gary's dad, Gary 'Green' Oak Sr, leader of the Viridian City Gym.
"Dad?" Ash uttered.
"Pop?" Gary also uttered.
Red smiled. "Hey, Gray, you've gotten bigger."
"Why are you both here?" Gary asked out of curiosity.
"You think we miss our sons' birthdays?" Green answered.
"Dad, I saw you on TV last night. You were amazing!" Ash said with excitement.
Green just looked at his old rival with a sly grin. "Oh, I've seen that as well. It's nice to know you haven't gotten rusty over the years."
Red just chuckled at that. "Heh, I could say the same about you, Green, being the Viridian City Gym leader."
"Heh." Green just chuckled.
"And you can bet I'll challenge you for the badge pop." Gary declared.
Green just chuckled at his son's determination, and he was looking forward to having a pokemon battle with him. Red was also looking forward to a match with Ash, and both fathers showed deep love for their sons. Red and Green, at times, were too busy with their trainer duties.
"Ahem." Prof. Oak coughed into his fist, getting all their attention. "I believe you both have something for your sons?"
"Oh, you do?" Ash asked, surprised.
Green nodded. "Yes, we didn't just come to see you both but to give you. starter pokemon."
"Really?" Ash gasped in surprise.
"Cool." Gary said he had told his dad which starter he would choose.
"Right, you told me about hoping to get a Squirtle like mine," Green said. His starter was a Charmander, the one he would later trade to Red, but along his Journey, he had caught a Squirtle and raised it to become a powerful Blastoise, and Gary told him he wanted to choose a Squirtle to raise as his own. "I bred one of my pokemon with a pokemon Dad had here at the lab to give birth to your starter."
Green then pulled out a blue Pokeball with a net pattern on it. "Here." Green grinned.
Gary took the Pokeball. He knew it was a Net Ball, a Pokeball designed to capture water and bug types.
"Alright. So what Pokemon is inside?" Gary asked.
"Find out for yourself," Green told Gary.
Gary chose the Net Ball into the air in a flash of blue light in the shape of a net. A tiny turtle pokemon appeared. The turtle opened its eyes which were on Gary.
"Squirtle." the turtle pokemon said happily with a smile.
"Hey, it's a Squirtle, alright!" Gary said, pumping his fist.
"Hmph, I'm glad you like him, son." Green just huffed with a smile.
Ash just looked at Green and Gary before turning to his father. Excited to meet his pokemon, he wondered if it would be like Zard, Turtley or Saur. "Dad, what pokemon did you get me?" Ash asked with excitement.
Red just chuckled at his son's enthusiasm. "Hold your Rapidashs, Gray." Red said as he took a regular Pokeball. However, the only difference was that it had a yellow bolt on the front of it. "The Pokemon here isn't exactly a normal starter, but after talking with professor Oak and your mother, we all agreed that this would be both a good starter for you and one you would love to have."
Ash took the Pokeball from his dad. "I do have to warn yah, and there is a minor problem with him," Red nervously told Ash.
Ash was confused by what his dad said, just then, the pull opened up, and a surge of electrical energy shot out and hit the floor. As it died down, a tiny yellow mouse (even compared to Squirtle) stood.
"Pichu." the rodent uttered as it looked around curiously, unlike Squirtle, before gaining an annoyed look of apathy.
"Ahh, it's a Pichu." Ash smiled as he picked up Pichu.
"Gray, I wouldn't do that. He-." Red tried to warn.
But it was too late, and a tick mark appeared on Pichu's forehead before it released a small jolt of electricity that engulfed Ash, Green, Gary, and especially Squirtle moved away.
"-shocks anyone who touches him." Red finished with a nervous grin.
"Ahh." Ash groaned as the smoke lifted off his body.
"I can tell that's Pika's son," Green said. He remembered that Pika, Red's Raichu, would shock Red, who knows how many times back when he had caught her.
"Hahaha, yeah, like mother like son. Pika's the only one who can get close to him without trying to her." Red said, rubbing his head through that, not counting his wife Nidoqueen, who's naturally immune to his electricity.
"Pichu," Pichu uttered, feeling exhausted, having tried himself out for a moment.
Ash, who finally recovered from his 'shocking' experience. "Dang, that little guy packs a punch." Ash uttered, still feeling the aftermath of Pichu's electrical attack
"Yes, but Pichus can't use their electrical attacks without either shocking themselves or exhausting themself, sometimes both. Just be glad he's not Pikachu 'cause, trust me, one shock, and you'll be able to tell the difference between their power," Red explained, having way more experience than he liked.
"Thanks, dad," Ash grumbled.
"Heh, good luck with that pokemon, Ashy-boy." Gary mocked.
"Oh, shut up, Gary. Pichu and I will get along in time." Ash shouted at his rival.
"Well, now that you two have your starters, I'll give you your Pokedexs." Prof. Oak told the boys, passing Gary his and then giving Ash his, though unfortunately for both of them, Pichu had gotten his second wind.
"Dad, watch ou-" but like Red, Green's warning came just too late as the two were shocked.
"I think you made the wrong choice giving Ash THAT Pichu." Green told Red.
"Well, many could say the same about Pika and me, but we eventually became close, so I have faith they will find some common ground. Though I would appreciate it if you didn't bring this up to Blue, at least about the second shock." He wanted to sleep in their bed together rather than alone on the couch.
Green scoffed, and the world champion, Red, was scared. "Fine, but you do owe me one." Green said.
"Really, what about what happened at goldenrod last year with the-" Red tried to ask, but Green clamped his hand over Red's mouth.
"Fine, we are even then! But NEVER bring that up, Goldenrod. Again we agreed what happened in Goldenrod stays in Goldenrod." Green said.
Oak and Ash, who had recovered from Pichu's second thundershock, and Gary looked at them. "Is something wrong, you two?" Pro. Oak questioned, eyebrow arched.
Green nodded his head. "Yep, everything is fine, dad."
"Yep, right as rain." Red chuckled nervously. "Anyway, We have something else to give you two."
Green and Red who put on rubber gloves and gave both boys small brown sacks. Ash and Gary just looked at them. "Inside are poke dollars, 4000 to be exact along with 6 basic PokeBalls, which Is good enough to start."
"Woah! Thanks, dad." Ash said as he and Gary took the pouches from these fathers, respectively.
Gary smirked. "Knowing you, you'll spend it on something stupid, Ashy Boy." Gary teased.
The younger Katchem glared at his rival. "Oh shut up, Gary!" as he and Gary got in each other's faces and growled.
Red and Green just shook their heads before pulling the boys apart. "Ok, break it up, you two. Save it for when you two are on the road." Red said
"So stop growling like a bunch of Growliths and behave like trainers," Green said.
"Fine." Ash and Gary said, turning away from each other.
"Alright, now that you two are situated. It's time you both begin your journey." Prof. Oak said.
Gary smirked with confidence as he recalled Squirtle. "Well, I'll see you around, Pop, Gramps." he waved before he left the lab for Route 1.
"Good luck, Jade." Green said, wishing his son the best of luck and looking forward to battling him when he reached his Gym.
Ash tried to return Pichu to his Pokeball, but the tiny mouse evaded the red beam. Ash pouted as he tried to recall Pichu but to no avail. The three adults just looked at the scene. Green and Prof. Oak just looked at Red, who had gained a bashful expression and rubbed the back of his head.
"Come on, Pichu, and you need to return to your Pokeball." Ash said.
Pichu huffed while sticking its nose into the air, completely dismissing Ash.
"It would seem Pichu isn't planning on returning to his Pokeball anytime soon." Prof. Oak said with a neutral expression.
"You really think they'll get along in the end?" Green questioned his friend.
"Heh…." Red gave off a nervous laugh.
"Richard!" a familiar voice called out, getting the four humans' attention. They turned to see Delia standing in the doorway of the lab.
"Delia." Red smiled happily to see his wife after so long.
Delia ran at Red, who held out his arms. The brunette brought her husband into a hug which Red gladly returned. Before grabbing Delia by the hips, raising her to the air, and spinning her in circles. Ash, Green, Pichu, and Prof. Oak watched the couple laugh happily. Red lowered Delia and brought her into a loving kiss. Delia closed her eyes, and she accepted it.
Ash was a little disgusted. He didn't like watching his mom and dad kiss in front of him.
The couple pulled apart and smiled. "I've missed you, Blue." Red said there wasn't a day when Red was battling in other places and regions that he didn't think about Delia or their son.
"Really, Red? Did you miss me? Or my cooking?" Delia asked with a cheeky grin.
Red just shook his head but grinned. "A little of both?" Red answered he had been to many food places worldwide, top class and all, but nothing beats his wife's homemade cooking. Suddenly, his stomach rumbled at the thought of food.
Delia just looked at him and chuckled. "Heheheh, like father like son, always thinking with your stomach." Delia then turned to Green. "Hey, Green, how's it at the Gym?"
"Pretty good. I'm hoping that the next batch of trainers will give me a challenge," Green said, crossing his arms.
Delia nodded before turning to Ash. "So did you choose a partner, honey?"
"Well… Dad kind of gave me a pokemon." Ash said, gesturing to Pichu, who just turned away from him.
"Oh, a Pichu, aren't you cute." Delia said as she tried to pet Pichu.
"Wait honey! Don'-" Red tried to warn her, but it was too late. Pichu had unleashed a weak electric shock. Delia screamed before falling over as small currents of electricity flew off her body.
"Delia, are you ok?" Red asked as he and Green helped Delia to her feet.
Once Delia got her bearings, she looked toward Red, she still had her smile but there was something else there that caused him to flinch in fear. "That's Pika's child, isn't it?" Delia asked with an eerily calm voice as Red nodded.
"Hehehe… yeah, isn't too 'shocking' that the apple didn't fall far from the tree." Red chuckled, beads of sweat dripped down his face..
Green then took a step back away from the two, he was not getting in the middle of this.
"Oh, Richard, that explains why you asked for Nidory's help though I can't help but wonder why you didn't tell me about this little plan of your's." Delia calmly said as if it wasn't a question with the aura that was around her was starting to take shape as Red knew he needed to act fast.
"Wait Blue, remember Pika was just like that, and look how we turned out so with enough time. I mean Gray, and Pichu will be great friends. Please trust me." Red said, trying to defuse the situation.
Delia looked at her husband before losing her smile and releasing a sigh as the aura around her vanished. "Ok BUT later the two of us are going to have a little chat tonight about communication." Giving him a firm look still not happy about him going behind her back.
"Hehehe… yes honey." Red chuckled nervously, knowing that was in for it later but at least he avoided THAT from coming out.
'Well those two haven't changed a bit. To be young again, and in love.' Prof. Oak thought with a smile, amused by Richard and Delia's talk, as he thought back to when he was young and when he met his late wife years ago.
'Hard believe she's the same thief I met years ago, it's harder to believe than even after she stole Red's badges. Blue would also end up stealing his heart as well. Along with actually being a good mother, however I hope she hasn't taught Ash how to steal.' Green thought with a smile remembering when the three of them were just kids, and how Blue was and is still a trickster.
Pichu once more feels exhausted from releasing the electric shock. Seeing this, Ash tried to return Pichu to his Pokeball, but the tiny rodent evaded the beam again.
"Come on, Pichu, and we need to head out." Ash said, trying to get his starter to listen to him.
"Pichu." Pichu uttered, pointing his nose into the air.
"Well, before you go, Pika should say bye to her son." Red said as he took out a Pokeball and threw it into the air. A Raichu, or Pika, appeared in a flash of light.
"Rai, Rai." Pika uttered.
Pichu looked at Pika and smiled as he ran over to his mother and rubbed against her chest. "Pi, Picha." Pichu smiled.
Pika smiled as she licked Pich's head. Delia cooed at the scene, finding it extremely cute,
"Aw isn't that the cutest thing I've ever seen." Delia cooed.
"Heh." Green just chuckled.
Red smiled, Pika and Pichu definitely had a strong mother-child bond. The Ketchem Monarch bent down to his partner. "Pika, do you think you can convince Pichu to return to his pokeball?"
"Rai, Rai." Pika replied to her master before turning to her son. "Rai, Raii, Raichu." Pika talked to her son.
Pichu shook his head and responded. "Pi, Pichu, Pi."
Pika nodded before turning to Red. "Rai, Rai, Raichu."
"Oh I see." Red nodded as if he understood what Pika told him, before he turned to his son. "It appears Pichu doesn't wish to return its pokeball, which I'm not surprised. He never did like it when I returned him."
"Really? I thought all pokemon have to remain in their pokeballs?" Ash asked, confused, but was more confused to how his dad understood Pika, in the past he's noticed Red somehow understanding the pokemon he came into contact with.
"Yes, but there are cases where a pokemon doesn't like to be confined." Delia answered.
"So Pichu's going to have to stay out of his ball for the time being." Red said, before giving Ash a pair of rubber gloves. "These should make things easier getting around with him."
Ash nodded and took the gloves and put them on. Before picking up Pichu who unleashed a thundershock, and luckily the gloves absorbed the electricity. And with that Ash and Pichu made their way towards Route 1 and the start of their journey.
"Rai, Rai." Pika said to Red, showing a small bit of worry.
Red smiled, before bending down to Pika's leveling and rubbing her head, which the large rodent enjoyed. "Don't worry I'm sure they'll be ok Pika." Red said before returning Pika to her pokeball.
Red and Delia watched as their son walked away. "Richard, you never told me why you gave Ash that Pichu." Delia stated as the two held hands with each other.
"Let's just say, Pichu has many 'surprises' which I'm sure only our son can bring out." Red told his wife, remembering when he trained Pichu for a bit and he was stunned by what he discovered about Pichu.
"Well then I guess only time will tell. Let's get home. I think you could use a proper home made meal. Delia said with a smile before the aura returned. "After that we can have that chat about you doing that behind my back and why you thought keeping me out loop was a good idea." As her grip on his hand tightened
Red winced from her grip. "Uhh.. yes, honey." Knowing that he had a lot of explaining to do.
"When that's all settled then I will know what to do." Dalia said as she led her husband back to their home.
"To do what honey?" Red ask nervously
"If I'm going to have to punish or reward you tonight." Blue said with giggle as her smile became more predator like her aura took the form of a giant pokemon.
Red just shuddered in fear, feeling like he was about to be killed by a wild pokemon regardless of which one he gets as the two continued on home.
"Heh, glad I'm not him." Green said with a smug grin.
"Don't think you're off the hook, you haven't contacted your wife in months." Prof. Oak said with a small smile.
Green instantly froze up, how could he forget his wife? "Oh man, you're right Dad, I've been so busy with the Gym and…" Green trailed off.
"And what son?" Prof. Oak asked.
Green's face turned serious. "They've resurfaced Dad, I don't know how. but it's been resurrected."
Prof. Oak's face then turned serious as well. "I've heard rumors, but I thought it was just that Rumors."
Green shook his head. "The wanted posters in Viridian city say otherwise, and I know Red is aware as well." he said clenching his fist. "Team Rocket! It has been resurrected!"
At the moment Ash and Pichu were making their way up a steep hill on route 1. However Pichu was making it very difficult, Ash stopped and sighed.
"Pichu, I need you to cooperate with me." Ash said, but Pichu just turned his head. "Is it because you don't like me?"
"Pichu." Pichu nodded.
Ash put his hand to his chin wondering how to get Pichu to work with him. "Wait, let me check." Ash said as took out his pokedex and typed in info about Pichu but more importantly it's eating habits.
{One of Pichu's favorite foods is Cheri Berries, due to its natural paralysis recovery traits, Pichus' eat this berry to help regulate their electricity and keep them from shocking and paralyzing themselves} Dexter explained.
"Ok." Ash said, maybe he can get Pichu to like him if he gave Pichu one of his favorite foods. Dexter then gave him a map of spots where they normally grow; however the nearest spots were on Route 6 and 9.
"Oh man, now what?" Ash complained, before turning to his partner who just continued to look away. "I guess, we'll have to take this one step at a time." Ash said, taking off the rubber gloves. "See, I took off the rubber gloves Pichu, and I know you don't like me, I'll do my best to earn your trust."
"Pichu.." Pichu uttered looking at Ash for a second before turning away.
Just then the two heard small footsteps, they turned to see out of the grass came a small brown bird. Ash immediately recognized the tiny bird.
"It's a Pidgey." Ash said, taking out his pokedex.
{Pidgey the Tiny Bird pokemon, Pidgey is a gentle pokemon and will only attack when it's provoked.} Dexter informed.
Ash grinned, this would be the perfect chance to get another pokemon who might listen to him. "Alright, Pichu, it's time for our first battle." Ash said, knowing that with Pichu's electrical attacks and Pidgey being a fly type this would be an easy catch even with his limited stamina.
That's when Ash notices Pichu is gone. "Pichu?" Ash uttered looking around before spotting the small rodent in a nearby tree. "Dang it! Pichu get here and help me battle!"
"Pichuu…" Pichu yawned not listening to Ash's commands acting as if he was sleeping.
Ash sighs as he debates. "If I remember right, Mom said Pokemon around here like Pidgey should be on weaker side so if I can hit one with PokeBall then I could catch it without having to battle it but if that fails…' Ash thought remembering what his Mom always told to never go pick fight with pokemon especially if you don't have one of your own to protect yourself and it is clear that he can't count on Pichu to join in to help him right now.
'I have no choice, I need another pokemon besides Pichu who will listen to me if I'm going to surpass my dad and to become the world's number 1 pokemon trainer. I NEED to take this risk.' Ash thought as he prepared himself.
Ash then got into a stance, taking out a pokeball and enlarged it. "Alright, I pledge to capture all the pokemon in the world, and to surpass my Dad as a pokemon master." Ash vowed to himself, Pidgey turned him.
"Enjoy your last moments of freedom Pidgey, cause today you'll be joining me on my journey!" Ash told the bird pokemon.
Ash twisted his hat backwards, as he pulled back his arm and threw the ball with all his might with the ball hitting the Pidgey which made the tiny bird wince before it was consumed in a red light and was drawn into the pokeball.
"Alright!" Ash smiled, snapping his fingers, however the pokeball began to shake and he knew what that meant. 'Come on, capture it please.' Ash thought, hoping it would be captured.
However Ash's concern came true, Pidey escaped from the ball and flew back towards Ash who caught it. As the Pidgey flew away.
"Damn it!" Ash shouted while hanging his head.
"Pipipipipi." Pichu giggled at Ash's failure.
{to capture a pokemon, a trainer usually uses their own pokemon to weaken them} Dexter informed but in a sassy tone.
"I KNOW that!" Ash growled, annoyed that his own pokedex had to tell him something that he already knew.
"Pichu, pipi, pichu!" Pichu continued to laugh now laying on his back.
"But I have to do everything myself!" Ash said as he glared up at Pichu.
Ash then went through again. 'Ok I need to find a way to weaken a Pidgey or any other pokemon around here so I can catch them that way I can actually battle with but the question is how?' He then looked down and saw a small pebble, he recalled his dad telling him about a place called the Safari Zone and that trainers didn't use their own pokemon to capture safari zone pokemon, they used Safari Balls, Rocks and Food.
"At this point, I'll try anything." Ash sighed to himself, he really didn't want to throw rocks at pokemon, however since Pichu wasn't any help he really didn't have any other options.
He looked around until he spotted a group of Pidgey together along with a few small gray birds.
"Wait, what's that pokemon?" Ash asked as he took out his pokedex.
{Pidove, the tiny bird pokemon, normally found in the region of Unova they tend to migrate to various other regions, no more data found.} Dexter explained.
"Oh a Unovian pokemon huh?" Ash asked himself, maybe it was a turn of luck for him, maybe his first catch would be a pokemon that is rare here that would definitely be helpful and could knock that smug smile off Gary's face. Though it doesn't matter which he hits as long as he weakens one of them enough to catch them then it makes it much easier for other pokemon.
"Yahh!" Ash shouted as he threw the rock at the Pidgeys and Pidoves who then flew away as soon as the rock hit the grass.
"Damn it…" Ash cursed, however he heard a rustling in the back of him, he turned to see a Rattata in his backpack. "Hey! Get out of there you scavenger!" Ash shouted running towards the Rattata chasing it away.
{Rattata, a mouse pokemon, its a forest living pokemon. It eats cheese, nuts, fruits and berries.} Dexter explained again.
"I know that, and it can be seen in fields." Ash was annoyed. As he looked at the Rattata that was looking back at him before running around.
(It often steals food from stupid traveler.} Dexter added with sass.
"You calling me stupid! I have half a mind to smash you!" Ash shouted at his pokedex in frustration.
"Pi. Pi, Pi chu!" Pichu laughed at Ash agian.
"Grr!" Ash growled as he glared at Pichu. "And you! I'm close to forcing you back into your pokeball and taking you back to pallet town and getting a new more useful pokemon!"
Pichu just ignored him, and continued to laugh.
Today has become the absolute worst day in Ash's opinion, first he got a pokemon that didn't even like him and now he couldn't even capture a new pokemon, and Gary was probably halfway to Viridian by now and is probably laughing his ass off.
And his parents would be very disappointed in him and embarrassed, that their own son couldn't even get his own pokemon to listen to him or capture one on his own, people would be laughing all over at his screw ups.
"Mannn! I hate today, I might as well just go home and forget about becoming a pokemon master if I can't catch one pokemon!" Ash shouted as he kicked a stone into the air, however it had hit a shadow silhouette. Ash looked to see a bird pokemon slightly bigger than Pidgey and Pidove and it had a lump on its head from the rock he kicked, and it didn't look happy.
"A S-Spearow…" Ash said nervously, taking out his pokedex.
{Spearow, unlike Pidgey, this tiny bird pokemon has a bad temper and will attack people and pokemon alike.} Dexter informed him.
Ash was afraid of that, and before he knew it Spearow let out a war cry. "Spear!" Spearow bellowed as it took to the air and flew at Ash.
"Ahh!" Ash shouted, as he ducked to the ground just as Spearow attacked him. "Oh great." Ash said as he got back up and picked up his backpack as Spearow continued its assault. Ash swung his backpack with all his might trying to keep Spearow at bay.
However, Spearow then spotted Pichu who had been observing the exchange. The aggressive bird changed its target and swept at Pichu, almost knocking him out of the tree.
"Pi!" Pichu exclaimed, barely holding onto the branch, as he got back up the Spearow once again attacked him.
"Hey! Leave Pichu alone, it didn't kick that rock!" Ash called out.
{Most Wild Pokemon tend to dislike trained pokemon especially for the more aggressive species.} Dexter explained
"Who asked you?" Ash growled at his pokedex, now thinking instead of being a high tech encyclopedia, it was more of a machine that states the obvious.
"Pi!" Pichu continued to dodge but was now hanging off the branch before making a u turn ready to strike.
Ash watched in fear before shouting. "Pichu! Use Thundershock now!" Ash ordered.
Surprisingly Pichu obeyed and unleashed a surprising powerful jolt of electricity that zapped the Spearow making it fall into the grass nearby. Pichu however, feeling drained from the amount of electricity it released, fell from the branch.
"Pichu!" Ash shouted as he caught the drained rodent in his arms. Ash sighed in relief, knowing that Pichu was safe. "Are you ok Pichu?"
"Pichu…" Pichu replied, surprisingly grateful that Ash caught him.
Ash smiled as he placed Pichu on the ground. "Man, that was a powerful Thundershock Pichu, it must have been more powerful than the ones you used back in Pallet Town."
"Pichu…" Pichu tilted his head.
Ash just looked at his partner then remembered. "Wait! Spearow, it has to be weakened from that attack, this could be my chance!" Ash said as he looked around and saw the Spearow twitching with its feathers ruffled, as it was still feeling the effects of Pichu's attack.
Ash grinned as he took a pokeball and enlarged it ready to capture Spearow. "Alright, Spearow, get ready to be captu-" Ash was cut off as Spearow stood up.
"Spearrrr!" Spearow crowed, that gave Ash a very bad feeling.
'Wait! Most bird pokemon travel in flocks so that call is!' Ash thought and his worse suspicion came true.
Out of a tree not far away, dozens of Spearows flew out of the tree and flew towards the duo. Ash and Pichu looked on in fear at the flock of Spearows.
"Ahh, we should run right?" Ash asked Pichu.
Pichu nodded in agreement. "Pichu." and the two began to run as fast as they could with the Spearows hot on their trail.
The duo made it out of the open field and into the forest, running past a group of Sandshrew who hid in the ground as they ran by. In the trees three Mankeys just watched Ash, Pichu and the flock of Spearow pass by.
"Pichu, whatever happens, I'll protect you!" Ash exclaimed, however Pichu who was still drained from the it's last attack was running out of stamina and began to slow down, and the Spearow began to attack it.
"Pi, chu!" Pichu called out as it fell to the ground and the Spearow was still pecking it.
Ash skidded to a stop and rushed back to his partner. "Leave it alone!" Ash shouted as he swiped the birds away ignoring the sharp beaks at the cutting into this flesh causing him to bleed slightly. Ash then picked up Pichu who was now covered in cuts and bruises, before making a run for it again with the aggressive birds not showing any sign of letting up.
"Pichu…" Ash uttered looking down at his injured pokemon, before looking back. "Those things just won't give up!"
Suddenly Ash came to a cliff with a waterfall and river. He looked down and saw it was a long way to the bottom, he looked back and saw the Spearow coming for them. "Hang on Pichu, we'll lose them in the river!" Ash said as he jumped, pulling Pichu as tight to his chest as he could as they hit the water.
The currents of the rival pulled Ash and Pichu along, they passed by a Magikarp when Ash opened his eyes he saw Magikarp evolve form Gyrados swimming towards him. With a gasp, Ash swam out its way as the river continued to drag him and Pichu away.
At that time, on the shore of the river a bike was parked along the trail, a young girl the same age as Ash was at the edge of the shore with a fishing pole in the water. She had orange hair tired in a ponytail on the side of her head and ocean blue eyes and a light complexion. The girl wore a short white tank top that showed off her belly, a pair of blue shorts and a pair of orange white and blue sneakers.
The girl suddenly got a bite on her pole and began to reel in her catch. "I got a bite! And it's a huge one!" she said with excitement, as she pulled with all her might, when Ash and Pichu were pulled out of the river and onto the shore.
"Oh it's just a kid." The young girl dismissed, before noticing the battered Pichu, and suddenly became worried. "And a pokemon, are you ok?" she asked them to jump down to them.
Ash coughed up some water and smiled at the girl. "I'm fine, thanks." Ash smiled.
The girl glared at him. "I wasn't talking to you, I was talking about Pichu!" the girl shouted at him, which made Ash scowl. "Is it breathing?"
"I think so." Ash said, looking down at his poor Pichu.
"What did you do to it?" the girl demanded glaring at Ash.
Ash growled, before shooting to his feet. "We were chased by Spearows and Pichu got attacked!" Ash exclaimed to the girl. "I jumped in the river hoping to get away from them."
Calming down the girl nodded, understanding the situation better, she could also see the bloody cuts on Ash as well. "Well don't just stand there, you got to get it to a Pokemon Center right away." the girl told Ash.
Ash looked at her and nodded. "Viridian, which way and how far is it from here?" Ash asked.
"It's not that far, just that way." the girl told him pointing in the straight ahead.
"Thanks!" Ash nodded, however they both heard the sound of flapping wings. Ash and the girl turned to see the flock of Spearow flying towards them. "Come on! how presistant can they be?"
That's when he saw a bike leaning against the road and he remembers something his mother told him
Flashback
Ash few years young was with Delia in their home as they were watching TV waiting for one of his father matches to start when a news report comes in talking about a thief has been caught after recent string of crime's have been found connected to them
"Mom, why would they steal from people? Isn't that wrong?" Young Ash asked, tilting his head with his mother, getting a conflicted look on her face.
"Well sweetie it sometimes it's not always that simple. Yes there are those who steal for wrong reasons like for greed or just to hurt people and pokemon but there are some people whose reasons are more… complicated." Delia explained while turning to her son.
"Complicated?" Ash asked, still confused by what she meant. "But why are the other peoples' reasons different? Isn't it still bad?"
Delia was even more confused trying to find the right words. "Well, Ash, let's say that… you have a friend who is hurt, but you can't afford medicine or treatment. And you end up stealing it to help, yes it's wrong in a way but you steal for the right reasons. There are also those who steal because the only thing they know don't truly know how wrong it is. it's not always black and white." Delia said her mind was wandering about her past.
"Ohh." Ash uttered although he didn't truly understand but then he noticed his mom looked sad there was even a tear in one of her eyes. "Mom, are you ok?"Ash asked worriedly.
Delia composed herself, sniffling before wiping away the tear. "Yes, I'm fine Ash." Delia said before pointing at the TV. "Let's forget about thieves, ok, your dad is about to battle."
"Mom, what if I needed to steal something?" Ash asked in an innocent voice.
Delia, taken aback by the question, dreaded the thought of her son stealing like she did years ago, a life she desperately tried to fix the damage she did and then bury it. she bit her lower lip debating on what to say before coming to a decision she hopes won't come back to bite them.
"Sweetie if you feel your in situation like that you should come to me, your father or Mr. Oak and we will help you… but if you can't you could just borrow it and then return it along side a apology to person if you have no other option sometimes it better ask for forgiveness than permission though I can't stress this enough only do that if you have no other choice understood?" Delia said with serious look to her son
Ash nodded. "Yes mom, if I ever do borrow something if there's no choice, I'll return it no matter what, I promise." Ash said with an innocent smile.
Delia gave her son a weak smile and nodded. "That's great, my little Ash Gray." as she brought him into a hug which he gladly returned.
Flashback end
Ash was brought back to reality. 'Mom, looks like I have no choice here.' Ash thought as he rushed over to the bike.
"Hey what are you doing?" the girl called out.
Ash ignored her for a second before placing Pichu in the basket. "I'm sorry, but I have to borrow this." Ash apologized as he rode away.
"You bastard! That's my bike!" the girl called out in anger.
Turning his head, Ash called out. "I'll bring it back someday, I promise!" He didn't want to take her bike, but he needed to get himself and Pichu as far from the Spearows as possible.
The girl growled and frustrated. "That little!" she cursed, placing her hands on her hips.
Ash gritted his teeth, pedaling as fast as his legs could, Pichu who was still exhausted just looked at his trainer. Ash suddenly heard thunder as storm clouds began to come in from out of nowhere, small droplets began to rain down a drop landed on Pichu, before it began to pour down rain Ash looked down at his partner, his determination not wavering.
"We're almost there Pichu, hang on!" Ash told his starter pokemon.
But then the Spearows finally caught up as lightning flashed in the background. The bird pokemon swooped down and began pulling in the back of Ash's hat along with pecking him. Ash closed his eyes and grunt trying to shrug off the aggressive bird's unyielding assault. Unaware he came to a ledge of a hill, Ash gasped as he flew for a second before crashing down hard, with him and Pichu hitting the ground with the bike behind them.
"Raggh…" Ash gritted his teeth, his entire body aching in pain. He opened his eyes to see Pichu on his side with a blank expression. "Pichu!" Ash gasped, as he struggled through the pain and crawled to his starter.
Ash gave a sad and scared expression, as he reached out and nuzzled Pichu's cheek. "Pichu… no, I'm sorry." Ash apologized, tears falling from his eyes wishing he was a better trainer and he could have prevented this.
A flash of lightning appeared behind them, as the flock of Spearows hovered in place as if they were savoring the scene below them.
Ash took out Pichu's pokeball. "Pichu, get inside. I know you hate being confined, but it's the only way to keep you safe. I'll protect you no matter what even if I have to give up my life." Ash told Pichu who just gave a small coo at what Ash said, as his trainer placed the pokeball next to him.
"Chu…" Pichu murmured.
Ash then stood back up and faced the Spearows and spread his arms out. "Hear me, Spearows! I am Ash Gray Ketchem from the town of Pallet. I am the son of Richard Red Ketchem, the strongest pokemon trainer in the world! I vow to become the world's greatest pokemon trainer and surpass him!" Ash declared.
Pichu got up, surprised by Ash's courage and dream. He then remembered something Red told him before he had met Ash.
Flashback
Red smiled as he petted the small rodent, who unleashed an electrical attack in response. Lucky Red had on his rubber gloves.
"You're a very stubborn pokemon." Red smiled.
"Pichu…" Pichu muttered, feeling exhausted.
"My son can be very stubborn too, but he is always willing to stand up for his friends no matter what." Red said.
"Pi." Pichu just dismissed Red's words.
Flashback End
"Pichu, get inside the ball!" Ash's words snapped Pichu out of his thoughts. "Come and get me!" Ash shouted at the Spearow who all flew at Ash ready to finish him off.
Without hesitation Pichu rushed towards Ash and climbed up his body before leaping off his shoulder into the air. "Aahhh…!" Ash gasped at what he was seeing, Pichu began to spark for a second.
"Pichaaaa!" Pichu unleashed a devastating thunderbolt that engulfed the flock of Spearows, while also blowing Ash backwards, the electricity formed into a giant pillar that reached all the way into the sky. The pillar then dissipated as the sky began to clear.
Ash and Pichu were on the ground in a small crater unconscious, the bike that was behind them was left chared by Pichu's attack. The flock of Spearows were gone, but some were killed by Pichu's thunderbolt, and laid on the ground behind the two.
Ash cringed for a second before opening his eyes, not sure how much time had passed. He looked to see Pichu by his side. The rookie trainer gave his pokemon a weak smile.
"Well won." Ash said in a weak tone.
"Chu…" Pichu gave a weak nod in response.
Just then a huge golden bird pokemon appeared flying across the sky leaving a glittering trail behind as it flew. Ash and Pichu looked up in amazement, never seeing such a beautiful pokemon in all their lives. But to Ash's surprise he spotted a feather, lazily floating down, Ash held out his hands it landed in his palms.
Ash was amazed by how the feather glowed in different colors like that of a rainbow. Ash looked at the flying pokemon again as it continued to fly across the sky.
"What is that pokemon?" Ash asked.
{Ho-Oh, the Rainbow Pokemon, Its feathers are in seven colors. It is said that anyone seeing it is promised eternal happiness or is destined for great things. No more data available.} Dexter explained.
"Ho-Oh?" Ash asked himself as he saw Ho-Oh disappear over the rainbow. He then looked down, the feather if what Dexter said was true, then maybe he was destined to be the best.
Ash then pocketed the feather, before he picked up Pichu began to walk towards Viridian City. Ash trotted up the hill. "You know Pichu, I never thought you would be so powerful. Maybe that's why Dad gave you to me, and I decided after seeing you spark when you attack the Spearow, I'll name you Sparks, how's that?" Ash asked.
"Pichu." Pichu, who was now Sparks, nodded, actually liking the nickname.
Ash smiled as they finally made it up the hill and saw the City of Viridian just over the horizon. Pichu then licked Ash's chin showing genuine affection, which made Ash happy that his starter pokemon finally liked him. And with that Ash made his way down to Viridian City hoping to get Pichu to the Pokemon Center so he could be treated.

(To Be Continued)
A/N: I hope you all liked the first chapter, I'm sure you all have lots of questions for how this will turn out and yes, some of the Spearow are dead, like I said I'm going to use elements form the Manga and Games and in the Manga, Pokemon can be killed in battle. Also Pikachu is a Pichu and is Pika's son. I decided since Ash was going to be Red's son, then I should make Pichu, Pika's. Pichu will evolve later on as it grows from happiness, and I based Pichu's hidden power similar to Chimchar's. I'm trying not to make it as op as I'm trying to balance it. Delia is Blue, who the girl goes by in the japanese version of the manga. and Green is the same as well but his real name will be Gary Oak Sr. me and my Co-Writers took the liberty of changing Delia's appearance slightly to resemble Blue, along with a little alteration to her personality and we'll be adding in other pokemon from other seasons once in a while, but they will be rare. if you have any more questions leave a review and now my Co-Writers SkylanderZilla and Sandshrew Master will take over.
Co-A/N SkylanderZilla:As you could see Pokemon from other regions such as Hoenn, Johto and Unova etc will be featured early on along with mechanics from the game and Manga including spin-offs such as Mega Evolution, Dynamax, Gigantamax, Burst, Terastal phenomenon, Z-moves
2nd Co-A/N Sandshrew: For Delia we tried to give her balance when comes to her personality to make her feel like mix of Blue and Delia with few other additions like that Aura you saw from her with that main inspiration coming from Miya from sekirei to give her more protective feel to her and keep certain questionable traits in check from Red that people played games can probably guess. Of course there's also Red who I'm hoping we can expand on more of as the story continues, especially with the idea of him becoming a father and how that affected him . Finally for those wondering we are going to explore the two relationships together with us checking up on the two and what they are doing during Ash's journey during certain chapters. What exactly you have to wait and see.
