In this prequel to A New Adventure, we explore how Starscream, Silverbolt, and a big majority of the canon Aerialbots and Seekers came to be Autobots along with exploring the story of the War, with lots of additional Autobots and Decepticons, including combiners and briefly Mercenaries before their final fate. That's all I have to say. (ON TEMPORARY HIATUS)

19. Death Of Hope

Transformers War for Cybertron: An Old War.

Chapter 19: Death Of Hope.

Sentinel Zeta Prime has been conquered, but the device Megatron believed to be the Omega Key turned out to be a beacon that activated the true key: a city-sized Guardian Robot named Omega Supreme. Megatron quickly realizes that he can use the device to track Omega Supreme, and he quickly races above the skies of Iacon in pursuit of his quarry.

As three Decepticon warships fly above the skies of Iacon and between buildings without getting wedged between them, Megatron says in the lead warship, "Maintain this heading! The device shows the Omega Key is directly ahead!"

Breakdown questions, "I thought Sentinel said it was going to come to us?"

Soundwave points ahead as he replies, "We are being intercepted!"

Up ahead, Omega Supreme charges as he shoots fiery missiles at the three warships, but only the last two get shot down, and the lead warship containing Megatron, Soundwave, and Breakdown continues forward while firing off Energon blasts at Omega Supreme.

Breakdown exclaims as the twosome start to play chicken, "It's coming right at us!"

But Megatron replies, "Stay your course!"

Breakdown shrieks as he steers the ship to narrowly miss Omega Supreme, "We're gonna dieeeeeee!"

As Omega Supreme flies upward, he transforms to his giant robot mode.

Megatron starts to say before cutting himself off as he asks, "Turn around and – where did it go?"

Breakdown replies before asking, "He's gone! What is this guy? You think he knows about the Omega Key?"

Omega Supreme lands and grabs the warship in his right clawed hand, causing serious damage as his grip is unbreakable.

Megatron replies before throwing away the fake Omega Key, "No, Breakdown. He is the Omega Key!"

Omega Supreme says as the last of his parts click into place and before throwing the Decepticon warship into a nearby building, "Identity: Omega Supreme. Enemy status: TERMINATED."

In the Decepticon warship, Breakdown questions angrily, "What are we gonna do now, Lord Megatron?!"

Megatron replies, "Silence! This actually modifies my plan. If Omega Supreme is the Key, then I shall force him to unlock the gateway to Cybertron's core!"

The three Decepticons disembark the crashed warship.

Soundwave then says as he points to a Decepticon dropship landing on a bridge, "Lord Megatron, there is a Decepticon dropship landing across the bridge. They appear to be scanning for any sign of survivors."

Just then, Ironspan contacts Megatron and says, "Come in, Lord Megatron! This is Ironspan; do you read me?"

Megatron replies, "Ironspan! I am seven clicks north of your position!"

Ironspan replies, "Understood, my liege! Meet me at the bridge!"

Megatron, Soundwave, and Breakdown jump down to the bridge and they switch to vehicle mode before driving fast to the dropship.

Ironspan meets them there, but then, Omega Supreme jumps down onto the bridge and pounds the dropship with his right clawed hand, sending everyone to the floor of the bridge.

Omega Supreme says, "Identification: Decepticons. Action: Terminate."

Omega Supreme pounds the dropship with his left arm's cannon arm in a karate chop fashion, making it explode and break in half, and Omega Supreme swats the halved dropship away before using his tractor beam on several Decepticons, but Ironspan manages to make a break for it in jet mode, thankful that he was as fast as Starscream.

Several Decepticon Infantry Soldiers shout one after the other, "Fall back! Fall back and take cover!" "He's got me! I can't fight it!" "Megatron, help us! MEGATRON!"

Omega Supreme throws the sucked up Decepticons onto the bridge, destroying them.

Several hundred more Decepticons continuously open fire on Omega Supreme, but because of the thickness of his armor, their shots are unable to penetrate his inner workings.

Soundwave then says, "Lord Megatron, our weapons are ineffective."

Breakdown exclaims, "We can't fight that thing! We gotta get out of here!"

But Megatron says stubbornly, "Stand your ground, Decepticons! Destroy the bridge supports!"

Soundwave, Breakdown, Megatron, and the numerous Decepticons blast the bridge supports, and this causes the bridge part Omega Supreme was standing on to break off and fall because of his height and weight, also causing Omega Supreme to stumble and kill some Decepticons who were too close as he tries to stay on the bridge.

Omega Supreme starts losing his balance rapidly, and he plunges to the chasms below.

Breakdown then says, "Well, that did it, my liege, but there goes your Omega Key!"

Megatron says dismissively, "Not to worry, Breakdown; we can always salvage the wreckage for what we need."

Suddenly, Omega Supreme in his ship mode flies up above the bridge, and he says while powering up his main weapon batteries, "Target: Acquired. Mission: Destroy."

Megatron exclaims, "Fall back! Inside! Quickly!"

Megatron and the other Decepticons flee towards the exit door, and Breakdown says as he spots Omega Supreme's disintegration laser weapon melting down the bridge, "It's no use, Lord Megatron; the door is locked!"

Soundwave then says, "Suggestion: Use an infusion of Dark Energon to force the door open."

Megatron replies, "An excellent idea, Soundwave."

Megatron quickly sprays an infusion of Dark Energon all over the door, and the Decepticons get inside just as Omega Supreme begins to totally obliterate the bridge.

As the door closes and locks down, Breakdown then complains, "Now what?! How are we gonna beat this mech, Lord Megatron?"

Megatron then asks, "Soundwave, any ideas?"

Soundwave answers, "Affirmative. During our approach to this sector, my scanners detected Heavy Ion Cannons near the top of the chasm wall."

Megatron then says, "I see... then we shall lure Omega Supreme up there and use the Autobot turrets against him!"

After a moment, Breakdown then says, "I don't like it... it's too quiet. Why all the ceasefire?"

Suddenly, several hundred Autobots come up, consisting of Soldiers, Rocket Soldiers, Protectors, Brutes, Heavy Soldiers, and Shotgunners.

But the combined strength in numbers and the combined firepower allowed the Decepticons to triumph against their heroic Autobot counterparts.

After progressing through the next room, Soundwave then says, "Megatron, be advised: I am receiving a Decepticon transmission."

Ironspan then says over all Decepticon frequencies, "Ironspan to all Decepticons who fight for the glory of Cybertron: Megatron... has fallen! I, Ironspan, have taken my rightful place as your leader!"

Megatron snarls, "Ironspan, you half-wit! I still function! And that is a fact you shall regret when I choke the life out of you! Now, I order you to deploy ships for immediate evacuation!"

Soundwave points out, "Ironspan cannot hear you, Megatron. All communication to the surface has been jammed."

Megatron growls, "Grrrr...! Let's head for that elevator before that idiot Ironspan truly causes irreparable harm!"

The exit door leading to the elevator chamber opens, and as the Decepticons start rushing on all servos, Omega Supreme turns up and fires his main weapon at the forcefield windows.

Breakdown and the others notice this, and Breakdown exclaims, "Uh oh! Here he comes!"

Megatron says, "Keep moving, Decepticons! We need to reach that lift!"

Despite Omega Supreme's efforts, the Decepticons manage to reach the elevator.

On the elevator, Soundwave states, "This lift will provide passage to the surface when activated."

Breakdown replies, "Works for me." And he proceeds to activate the switch that turns on the elevator.

But then, the elevator stops moving because of the fact that it's been locked down.

Breakdown exclaims, "What's wrong with this thing?! Why can't we get it to move?"

Soundwave answers, "The elevator is locked down."

Megatron replies, "A simple solution, then: break the locks!"

Breakdown shoots at the three locks and the shots destroy them.

The elevator starts moving.

Megatron then tries his commlink as he says, "Ironspan, come in. This is Megatron."

Nothing happens, and Soundwave explains, "There is too much interference, my liege. We must move higher to relay your signal."

Megatron snarls before remarking, "Can this feeble Autobot mechanism not move any faster?! Look at that; it appears we have eluded that dimwitted brute, Omega Supreme. Not that he stood a chance against my intellect."

Breakdown then asks nervously as he points to the window when he sees Omega Supreme show up and start getting ready to ram the window, "Um, Lord Megatron...?"

Megatron asks before exclaiming as soon as he sees Omega Supreme outside the window, "What? WHAT?!"

Omega Supreme rams the window screen of the elevator before hovering ahead of it and charging his weapon batteries as he says, "Target, reacquired. Weapons: Engaging."

Breakdown remarks as he sees Omega Supreme charging his main weapon batteries, "Wow... he looks really mad now..."

Omega Supreme fires his main weapon into the elevator winches and gears, stopping it in place.

Omega Supreme floats down to the Decepticons' optic view and says, "Target identification: Megatron, Decepticon leader. Recommendation: Complete termination."

As Omega Supreme begins charging his main weapon batteries again, Megatron snarls, "You think you can destroy me, Omega Supreme?! You think you can destroy Megatron?! ...Do your worst."

Omega Supreme fires his main weapon into the elevator, but the elevator slides downward as the beam penetrates the winches, saving the Decepticons.

Breakdown asks, "We're still alive? We're still alive! ...What happened?"

Megatron exclaims, "Open fire on the emergency locks! Destroy them!"

The Decepticons destroy the emergency locks and they get back to the ground level of the elevator, where a secret exit to the outside on the right of the elevator opens.

Breakdown then says, "Lord Megatron, with all due respect, but are you crazy?! If we go out there, he'll melt us into scrap!"

Megatron replies, "Would you rather face his wrath, or mine?! Now, jump!"

The Decepticons jump out of the elevator and onto a series of platforms, even on one that doesn't support sudden weight from some bot jumping onto it from above, and they get to ground level with a tunnel, only for the tunnel to open up and reveal an assortment of Autobots.

After taking out the Autobots, the numerous Decepticons manage to get to the end of the tunnel leading to another one.

An assortment of thirty Decepticon Brutes turns up and one of them says, "Lord Megatron! You're still functional! Thank Primus we found you!"

But then, Omega Supreme's clawed hand smashes through the tunnel entrance behind the Brutes, and he destroys them.

Omega Supreme then says, "Decepticons: Located."

Omega Supreme starts charging his tractor beam as Breakdown exclaims, "He's trying to grab us!"

Megatron snarls, "Stop whining and start shooting, Breakdown!"

Breakdown and the others shoot continuously into Omega Supreme's hand, making him retreat to repair the damage to his hand.

Breakdown exclaims as he and the others head into a broken elevator shaft, "Omega Supreme's right on our tailpipes! There's gotta be a way to lose him!"

Megatron replies, "Move back inside! Perhaps we can avoid his tracking systems."

After jumping into the next room via the broken elevator shaft, Soundwave advises, "Foritifed Autobot position located straight ahead. Jamming Autobot scanners now. Our approach should be undetected."

As the Decepticons head towards the Autobot fortification, one Autobot Soldier asks, "Omega Supreme has lost the Decepticons! Where did they go?"

An Autobot Commander replies, "I don't know, soldier! Scan this entire sector, and find them!"

Megatron remarks, "They must be coordinating with Omega Supreme, in trying to locate us. Well, we'll give them what they want... along with a painful death!"

Megatron blasts open the first security lock on the exit door, and an Autobot Soldier exclaims, "What's going on?!"

Another Autobot soldier answers, "Someone's breaking in! Secure your defensive positions!"

After blasting the second security lock, the door slides open to the right and the firefight ensues.

After dismantling a Heavy Soldier and some Aerialbots, the Decepticons deal with the rest of the Autobots.

Megatron then says, "Excellent work, Decepticons. Breakdown, unlock the exit door."

Breakdown heads to the control console and unlocks the exit door, only for six Autobot Brutes to appear.

Megatron fatally smashes one Brute in the head with his mace before firing a powerful Fusion Cannon blast at the backpack of another Brute, making him explode.

Soon, the six Autobot Brutes were nothing more than mangled metal corpses.

After making it down the corridor to another door, Megatron infuses it with Dark Energon.

However, a couple of automated repair sentries start using their repair rays to counter the effects of Dark Energon.

Soundwave points out, "Megatron, the Autobot security systems are countering the effects of Dark Energon."

Megatron replies, "A futile gesture. Decepticons! Destroy the sentries!"

The three Decepticons destroy the sentries.

After transforming to vehicle mode, they start driving until they get outside.

However, they spot Omega Supreme flying ahead of them.

Breakdown calls out, "Watch out! Omega's mining the road ahead!"

After driving for another fifteen seconds, they come across an outpost entrance.

Upon entering the outpost and slaughtering the Autobots posted there, Breakdown laughs maniacally, "HahahahaHAA! Did you see me back there? Omega couldn't touch me!"

Soundwave then states, "Megatron, scans indicate a bridge nearby. Crossing there will give us access to a second elevator."

Breakdown bemoans, "Another elevator? I don't know... the last one didn't work out so well."

Megatron sneers, "Do not test me, Breakdown. My patience is at a critical low."

After opening the door upstairs, the three Decepticons come across Omega Supreme spawning and deploying a Destroyer, Snipers, Soldiers and Aerialbots on the walkways in front of the roof.

After taking cover from the Autobot gunfire, Breakdown exclaims, "We're pinned down!"

Megatron tries his commlink again and he asks, "Ironspan, do you read me?"

Ironspan runs with Skytwin and Bumbleclaw to a cliff where they transform to jet mode as Ironspan queries incredulously, "Megatron?! You're alive?"

Megatron retorts, "Spare me your theatrics! I need immediate air support! Attack Omega Supreme!"

After firing some missiles at Omega Supreme, the three Decepticon fliers flee as Omega Supreme states, "New targets: Acquired. Initiating: Pursuit."

Omega Supreme pursues the Decepticon Seekers and Megatron calls out, "There! Omega Supreme is distracted! Attack the Autobots!"

Suddenly, the three Decepticons are struck from behind by multiple invisible melee strikes and bullets from various shotguns, machine guns and miniguns at the same time.

But before Megatron can fight back blindly, the assailants disappear as quickly as they arrived.

Thankfully enough for the three Decepticons, Soundwave's Energon Repair Ray and Repair Drones healed them all.

Soon, the slaughter started again.

The main hindrance was the repair sentries fixing up the Autobot troops and the Destroyer with each and every bullet or Energon laser they take.

After a few rounds of going up against Autobots that were repaired, Megatron snarls, "Destroy the repair sentries, or we'll never defeat these Autobots!"

They do so, and they manage to kill every Autobot Soldier, Heavy Soldier, Destroyer, Rocket Soldier, Sniper, Shotgunner, Medic, and Aerialbot sent to intercept them due to Omega Supreme somehow possessing the ability to birth into adulthood all sorts of Autobots in the following categories: Aerialbot Scout 1s, Aerialbot Scout 2s, Aerialbot Snipers, Aerialbot Warriors, Aerialbot Sergeants, Aerialbot Lieutenants, Aerialbot Captains, Aerialbot Commanders, Aerialbot Generals, Aero Drones, Air Sharks, Ark Crew Autobot Soldiers, Artillery Drones, Artillery Specialists, Artillery Unit Autoclones, Autobot Melee Captains, Autobot Ranged Captains, Autobot drones, Autobot Ground Soldiers, Autobot Standard Melee Warriors, Autobot Shield Melee Warriors, Autobot Twin-Bladed Melee Warriors, Autobot Mini-Soldiers, Autobot Light Ranged Warriors, Autobot Medium Ranged Warriors, Autobot Heavy Ranged Warriors, Autobot Melee Sergeants, Autobot Ranged Sergeants, Autobot Tactician Eventually, the three Decepticons made it into some maintenance tunnels and started to drive down them.

Just then, Breakdown spots Omega Supreme getting ahead again and calls out, "There's Omega again! He's getting ahead of us!"

After Omega Supreme transforms to robot mode and lands on a piece of a building overlooking the bridge terminal, Breakdown states, "Omega found us again. We can't go that way... what do we do now?"

Soundwave answers, "Mapping alternate route now."

Megatron adds, "Let's get off this road and out of the open. We WILL find another way!"

After entering the next room with a dead end, Breakdown breaks the maintenance access door as Megatron asks, "Soundwave! You led us to this place. What is your explanation?"

Soundwave answers, "Megatron, these are Iacon power maintenance tunnels. Moving through them will lead to the bridge terminal."

Megatron replies, "I see. Very well, Soundwave. You lead the way."

After contending with the Autobot forces stationed in the first maintenance tunnel, the three Decepticons follow the path to a large tube.

They headed inside and destroyed the overhead rocket sentry.

Upon reaching an energy conduit tunnel, Soundwave advises, "Caution: any contact with the energy beams will cause severe systems damage."

Breakdown explains, "You want us to go through that power conduit? No way! The Energon flow is off the charts! We'll be fried!"

Megatron snarls in warning, "Get moving, Breakdown!"

After making it to the other side of the energy tube in vehicle mode and shooting down the door, they escape the Energon flow and contend with some Aerialbots.

After breaking down another door, the Decepticon trio dash to the nearby room without rushing.

After using the console in the room to open the other door, the three Decepticons wait for the Energon beam to dissipate and they then rush to the door on the right, smash it down and enter the next room.

Upon entering the next room, Soundwave points out, "The bridge is just ahead. It may be necessary to extend it."

After going down the ramp, they head into another room before hearing the familiar sounds that Autobot Cloakers make when they're invisible.

After contending with the Cloakers, Soundwave activates the only console in the area and the three Decepticons proceed to the next area.

After contending with another Autobot ambush while managing to avoid Optimus Prime's third away team, Breakdown activates the controls to extend the bridge.

The Decepticon trio could see for themselves the bridge extending.

Soundwave states, "The bridge is now extended. We now have access to the other side."

Megatron remarks, "Finally! Decepticons, move quickly! We must reach those guns!"

The three Decepticons switch to vehicle mode and drive through the tunnel to the first part of the bridge.

Once again, Breakdown spots Omega Supreme getting ahead and calls out, "There's Omega Supreme again! Watch out!"

Megatron calls out as well, "Faster, Decepticons!"

After descending to the outside part of the bridge, the three Decepticons avoid the mines Omega Supreme deployed.

Breakdown calls out again, "Heads up! More mines!"

Breakdown then asks, "Is Omega Supreme still out there? Did we lose him?"

Breakdown got his answer when he drove further and saw Omega Supreme getting ahead while transforming to his giant robot mode.

Breakdown muttered, "Guess not..."

Soon, they were about to make it to the next part of the bridge and Breakdown exclaimed, "We're not gonna make it!"

Megatron bellows, "You WILL reach the other side, or I'll have your head!"

The three Decepticons drove into the tunnel entrance in between Omega Supreme's legs without him reacting fast enough.

After jumping a destroyed part of the bridge, the Decepticon trio went to the end of the bridge in another room.

Breakdown exclaims again, "We made it! I can't believe it! WE MADE IT!"

Megatron deadpanned, "Yes, Breakdown. Your constant whining saw us through."

Soundwave then states, "Megatron, the second cargo elevator is nearby. It will take us directly to the Heavy Ion turrets."

Megatron replies, "Perfect! We shall ascend to the roof, and Omega Supreme will follow... to his destruction!"

In the hallway to the elevator platform, the three Decepticons encounter more Cloakers.

Megatron calls out, "More cloaked Autobots! Destroy them! Shoot anything that moves!"

After dealing with the Autobot Cloakers, Megatron and his pawns encounter an Autobot Brute ands some Soldiers.

After contending with them, Megatron remarks, "Autobot weaklings. Onward, to the lift!" Then the three Decepticons get onto the elevator.

After activating the console for the lift, the elevator ascends to the surface.

Soundwave then points out, "Megatron, I detect numerous Decepticon and Autobot signals a few dozen meters above us. We are nearing the surface battle."

Megatron calls out on his commlink, "Ironspan, status report!"

Ironspan replies, "The Autobots are counterattacking! Retreat! Decepticons, retreat!"

Megatron roars, "BELAY THAT ORDER! Decepticons, this is MEGATRON! Anyone caught fleeing this battle will be marked kill on sight! Press your attack immediately!"

Ironspan starts to ask, "Attack? But Megatron—"

Megatron interrupts him with, "Especially YOU, Ironspan! I order you to continue the assault! Megatron out!"

Once the lift reaches the rooftop, Megatron remarks, "We've reached the Heavy Ion turrets. Now, let Omega Supreme come!"

Once the three Decepticons make it outside, they are witness to the Heavy Ion turrets blasting their Seekers out of the sky.

One Autobot Soldier is heard saying, "Target the Seekers! Get those Decepticons out of the sky!"

Breakdown observes the scene and points out, "Looks like the Autobots are still using these guns, Lord Megatron! Our Seekers are getting shredded."

Megatron replies, "Blast the Autobots and take those guns by ANY means necessary!"

The Decepticon trio found themselves facing an Autobot Destroyer and many Autobot Soldiers with repair sentries.

An Autobot soldier then calls out, "We can't let the Decepticons take these turrets! Stop them, Autobots!"

The Decepticons found themselves outnumbered by four hundred Autobots. But after contending with them and securing the Heavy Ion turrets, Soundwave explains briefly, "Megatron, analysis indicates that the firepower of those turrets is sufficient enough to damage Omega Supreme."

And speak of the devil, Omega Supreme shows up in vehicle mode, as he can't fly in robot mode.

Breakdown then remarks, "Speaking of Omega Supreme..."

Megatron then states, "Precisely as I had planned. Decepticons! Man the turrets, and blast that obsolete hulk out of the sky!"

As the Decepticons mount the turrets, Omega Supreme says to commence the battle, "Targets: reacquired. Attack: commencing. Decepticons, prepare for destruction."

For over an hour, Omega Supreme's attack pattern ranges from firing his main weapon – his Energon-based disintegrating laser beam – and his other weapons consisting of volleys of energy projectiles and homing rockets. His attacks also range from moving side to side to deploying Aerialbots and switching different attack patterns.

But the Decepticons are smart enough to predict Omega Supreme's next moves and counter them with heavy gunfire from the turrets.

Upon the first firing of his laser cannon, the Decepticons proceed to open fire without detaching the turrets.

After the first few hits, Omega Supreme states, "Rockets: Activating."

And he launches several rockets into the air.

After dodging the rockets, Megatron calls out, "Keep shooting, Decepticons! We defeat Omega Supreme here, or we die trying!"

Omega Supreme starts firing his main weapon batteries, but the Decepticons are always quick to evade the Energon disintegration laser beam.

After a few more shots, Soundwave notices Omega Supreme's armor had been breached by both the bullet and Nucleon Shock turrets.

Soundwave then advises, "Megatron, Omega Supreme's armor has been breached."

Omega Supreme then hovers over the turret platform and spawns hundreds of Aerialbots, and Megatron calls out, "Decepticons! Omega Supreme has deployed Aerialbots! Shoot them down!"

The Decepticons are left dealing with the Aerialbots, thankful that they stocked up on normal ammo by stealing ammo clips from ammo crates all across the battlefield where Omega Supreme continuously chased them down.

After dealing with the Aerialbots – thankfully without knowing that Omega Supreme briefly vanished to spawn millions of more Autobot troops to advance the Autobot army's numbers, especially by combining their numbers with the troops who turn into civilian vehicles and the ones who turn into military vehicles – Omega Supreme reappears.

Omega Supreme states, "Targets: Reacquired. Weapons: Engaging."

Omega Supreme spawns more Aerialbots as Megatron gloats, "Your power is failing, Omega. Soon, you shall bend over to my will!"

Omega Supreme reappears after the last Aerialbots flee, and Soundwave says, "Omega Supreme approaches!"

As Omega Supreme deploys more homing rockets, Megatron calls out, "Homing rockets! Decepticons, take cover!"

After a few more shots from the Nucleon Shock Cannon Turrets and the Ion Displacer Turrets, Soundwave says, "Megatron, scans indicate that Omega Supreme's power levels are dropping."

Suddenly, Omega Supreme starts charging his main weapon batteries, and Megatron calls out, "Omega Supreme's main weapon batteries are charging! Prepare for evasive action, Decepticons!"

Omega Supreme sweeps the front of the roof platform with his laser beam, but he misses, and he deploys even more Aerialbots.

Soundwave even points out, "Megatron, sensors indicate more Autobot Fliers incoming."

Megatron calls out, "Blast those Aerialbots out of the sky!"

After dealing with the last deployment of Aerialbots, Omega Supreme reappears, and Breakdown calls out even as he fires his last shots, "Uh oh! Here he comes!"

Megatron snaps back, "I can see that, you fool!"

After Breakdown fires three to four final shots, Omega Supreme's armor starts to emit small explosions as he starts to fall to the ground below.

Breakdown cackles, "Hahahahahahaha! He's going down! Eat THAT, rust-for-brains!"

As Breakdown aims down at the ground below the roof and fires his Plasma Cannon, Megatron remarks, "Omega flees like a coward! Now, let's finish the job!"

The three Decepticons jump down to where Omega Supreme is.
