December 31st, 1926

The past year has been nothing short of extraordinary. Amidst the shadows of strikes and martial law, we found moments of joy and a semblance of normal life.

John and Marguerite's home in Avebury became a refuge for us all, a place where love and family stood strong against any challenge. Observing them with William and the twins is a daily reminder of the enduring strength of love. Watching William grow sparked curiosity about the man he will grow into. His bright eyes hint at potential and a future filled with promise.

Emily, embracing the spirit of the Roaring Twenties, has become a symbol of hope and adaptability in these changing times. Her vibrant spirit leaves me pondering what exciting turns her future might take.

Veronica, too, has found joy in the music and dance of this era, embodying adaptability and a zest for life, which serves as a continuous inspiration.

Challenger, forever the curious scientist, remains undaunted by the chaos of the outside world, his relentless pursuit of knowledge a testament to the boundless possibilities ahead.

Reflecting on this year brings a mix of emotions. The allure of the Plateau, with its mysteries and untamed nature, is ever-present, but the thought of leaving the warmth of England and our close-knit group is daunting.

England was meant to be a brief respite before our next adventure, but as time passed, it became more than just a temporary shelter; it transformed into a home.

As we prepare to close this chapter, the sense of farewell is palpable. The memories created in Avebury, the laughter, the friendships formed – all will be deeply missed.

However, there is also a sense of anticipation for the new chapter ahead. Veronica and I are eager to start our family on the Plateau and look forward to welcoming our friends back to this land of wonders.

The unknown is calling, and as we step into the future, we carry the warmth of the past, the bonds formed, and the dreams that fuel our journey. Avebury will remain a cherished memory, a constant in our hearts as we embrace the awaiting adventures.
