Tara's Note: I actually wrote this as a part of Chapter 4 but then both scenes ran especially long so instead of a mutant chapter that would raise expectations about word counts going forward, I severed this scene and turned it into its own chapter. This one goes straight out to that guy who was upset that I tagged trans Tsuyu on the AO3 version of this story but didn't use one of her like, three lines in her first appearance to loudly broadcast that she was trans. You wanted me to make her trans status more obvious? Here you go, buddy.

"Izuku? Is there somewhere we can talk in private?"
Glancing up from where he was taking some notes about Mina's quirk - they were currently debating whether she could manipulate her quirk to create a non-Newtonian shear thickening fluid that could serve as body armor - Izuku raised an eyebrow at the expression on Tsuyu's face. Namely, the fact that there was an expression on her face. While he'd only known her for two days at this point, he already knew that it was unusual for her. Given that she evidently felt worried enough to actually look visibly worried? Izuku found himself concerned for the girl. "Yeah, uh, sure. We can use my room."
Climbing to his feet, Izuku gingerly navigated the sprawl of bodies spread out on what Mina had dubbed Yaoyorotons spread over the living room floor. Once he made it to the edge of the mass of bodies, he gestured for Tsuyu to follow him as he headed down the hallway to his bedroom. Given that Tooru had been living there for a few weeks already, it was no longer the shrine to All Might that it had once been and Izuku actually felt comfortable letting another living being see it. Following him in, Tsuyu shut the door behind him. "Thanks, kero. The girls already know what I'm about to tell you but I wanted you to be able to react without being judged."
She was worried about him being judged? That just made Izuku even more curious about the discussion they were about to have. Moving to sit at his desk, Izuku awkwardly gestured to the edge of his desk and then his bed. "You can sit... wherever?"
"Thanks. I'll just... be over here. Hedging my bets with this, kero." Moving to sit on the edge of his and Tooru's bed, Tsuyu stared down at her hands for a few seconds as she fidgeted before looking back up at him. "You've already discovered that I tend to say what's on my mind. So, I'm just going to come out and say it. I wasn't born a girl. I used to be Asui Uryo."
Izuku blinked owlishly at the confession, which was honestly not what he'd been expecting. He hadn't really been sure what to expect from this conversation, but that certainly hadn't been it. "I see. So are you getting gender-affirming care, or is this a frog quirk thing, or..?"
There was a brief stretch of silence as Tsuyu continued to eye him uncertainly before answering. "Frog quirk thing. Protoandrous sequential hermaphroditism. With overlap. I hit a certain age and my body decided there were too many boys around and that it needed to do its part to correct the problem. The process probably won't be done until we graduate, because the human body only replaces cells so fast and I'm still a human with a frog quirk and not a literal frog. But as you can tell, I'm girl enough at this point that I present as female."
His hands twitched as Izuku found himself desperately wishing he had his notebook with him. The very concept was so incredibly interesting to him. He didn't know much about frogs - or anything outside the boundaries of what school taught him, save for quirks and heroes - but the idea that Tsuyu's quirk was capable of such things was positively fascinating. "So, uh, I'm pretty sure that I'm straight. But that's not a problem because you're a girl. Right? I mean, if you're going to turn back into Uryo at some point, I guess we can see what happens but-"
"Frogs don't work like that. I don't think. It's a population control mechanism, meant to keep things as close to even as possible for optimal breeding. I'm not entirely sure where all the girls our age have disappeared to because supposedly Japan has a gender split of forty-eight percent male and fifty-one percent female." Tsuyu let out a thoughtful croak, tapping her finger against the corner of her mouth. "But our class is seventy percent male not taking Tooru into account, and my junior high was about sixty percent male. That's what triggered the change."
Huh. Given that he was the only quirkless person he knew, Izuku had never really paid attention to statistical trends outside of the fact that he was always one out of everyone. It hadn't ever occurred to him that Class 1-A didn't properly represent the greater Japanese society. "So just to be clear, it's not conscious ability of yours or anything? You can't just switch?"
Tsuyu gave him an even more deadpan look than usually crossed her face. "It's not a party trick, Izuku. No. Besides, if I had a choice... look at how most female heroes in this country are treated. Do you think I would voluntarily choose this for myself?"
That was... very fair. Even Miruko, the top ranking heroine in the country was heavily sexualized and fetishized despite trying to build an image based on pure combat ability, fierceness, and competence. Izuku agreed with Tsuyu on that point: if given a choice, he absolutely would not have chosen to try and become a heroine when he could be a hero. "Fair. So, uh, getting back to the part where you wanted to tell me this alone... did you think I was going to freak out and break up with you?"
"It crossed my mind." Tsuyu shrugged, her hand dropping away from her mouth so that she could fidget with both hands in her lap. "Like you said, you're straight and I'm not a cis girl. If nothing else, I sort of expect boys to be freaked out by the fact that I have a huge penis. Self-confidence issues, among other things."
While far from the most egotistical person, Izuku was ashamed to admit the first thought to cross his mind was... bigger than his? Not that he was doing anything with his these days - or any day in the near future - but... that was indeed an aspect of masculine self-identity. Then again, he was below average height for a Japanese male. It stood to reason that he'd encounter plenty of people in his life who were, that is to say, better equipped than him. Considering he'd somehow managed to wind up with seven girlfriends despite his many and varied shortcomings? Izuku decided he was doing pretty dang well for himself regardless of that potential shortcoming, and that he was just going to roll with this revelation. At that point, his curious side took over and he leaned forward, lowering his voice despite the fact that they were the only two people in the room. "When you say huge..."
Tsuyu brought her hands up in front of her chest a concerning distance apart. "I've never actually measured it because who does that? But a solid thirty, thirty-five centimeters."
An American saying seemed appropriate at the moment. "Holy shit. I, uh, that's, err... a lot."
Nodding, Tsuyu patted at her lap with one oversized hand. "Frog quirk. I looked it up when it became clear that I wasn't like most boys my age, back in the day. It turns out that there are some species of frogs that have erections one-quarter the size of their entire body. The more guileless scientists of the day named several species 'tailed' frogs because it honestly never occurred to them that the frog might just have an enormous penis."
That... was actually kind of funny, the more that Izuku thought about it. And as long as she didn't try to do anything to him with it? He was fine with things. He was a bottom, sure, but he wasn't that much of a bottom. And the more that he thought about it? The more he realized that it might actually be a beneficial state of affairs in this crazy new polyamorous relationship that he'd found himself in. After all, there were seven girls in the relationship and only one of him. One ordinary, quirkless him with decent but not superhuman stamina. When they eventually took things to that level... maybe it could come in handy? Then something occurred to him and Izuku turned his head to stare at the wall separating them from the rest of their newly formed polycule. "Do they know about that part too or just that you used to be a boy?"
"Everything. We had a talk in the locker room after class." Tsuyu shrugged, lowering her hands back into her lap. "I'm hoping that someone is willing to go Plus Ultra at some point?"
Wow. Uh, yeah. Maybe Himiko? She had a poorly understood shapeshifting quirk, which was understandable given the trigger for its activation. Maybe she would be able to... rise to the occasion? Izuku shook his head to clear the images that formed at that thought, slapping his hands against his cheeks. "But yeah. To get back on topic, I don't care and the girls clearly don't care so I think you're good?"
Tsuyu let out a relieved sigh. "Well, that was my big secret that I was keeping. You seem genuinely fine with it so I think we're good. We should probably get back out there. I saw Mina hunting through your recycling bin for a soda bottle to spin." Leaning forward a bit, she slowly and deliberately winked at Izuku. "Unless you want to be my first kiss?"
He wouldn't say no? Even in the face of what he'd just learned about Tsuyu, Izuku still thought that she was a very pretty girl. Especially given that Tooru would probably - no, definitely - approve of him taking the first step with one of the girls? Izuku knew what his answer would be. Leaning back in his chair a bit, the verdette patted his lap. "If you want me to be, then sure."
Moving with surprising speed, Tsuyu closed the distance between them and slid into his lap. Leaning down, she eagerly pressed her lips against his as she wrapped her arms around his neck. With her slightly larger than average froggy mouth, it was a distinctly different sensation from kissing Tooru. Not bad. Just different. Then her tongue pressed against his lips before slipping into his mouth. Before Izuku could process what was going on, the tongue ventured deeper and deeper, until he flinched as his gag reflex was triggered. As he coughed violently, Tsuyu leaned back away from him, an apologetic look on her face. "Too much tongue?"
"Too much tongue."
"Right, sorry." Sliding off of his lap, Tsuyu offered one of her large hands to him. "Should we go back out with the others at this point? Or do you want to stay in here while I see if anyone else has any secrets they want to confess?"
Izuku chuckled and took her hand, allowing her surprisingly strong arms to pull him upright. She was awfully buff for a frog girl. Then again, all the girls in the hero course were. It kind of came with the territory, he supposed. Tooru also had larger hands than him at this point, so it didn't really phase him to hold Tsuyu's hand as they made their way out of his and Tooru's room and back down the hall to where the other girls were. As soon as he entered the room, Tooru waved to him energetically. "So did she tell you about her ridiculous dong, Izukun?"
Hissing, Izuku gestured for Tooru to lower her voice. "Tooru, my mom is in the other room? Can you maybe not?"
"Sorry, sorry, I realized that Mamadoriya could probably hear me literally the second after it came out of my mouth." Izuku peered back over his shoulder at the door to his mother's room but when she didn't emerge, both he and Tooru breathed a loud sigh of relief. Bouncing agilely through the bodies sprawled on the floor, Tooru collided heavily with Izuku and spun him around, his hand slipping out of Tsuyu's in the process. "So. It looks like you survived the conversation. We're all good still?"
Izuku offered a hesitant thumbs up before eyeing her curiously. "Wait, how do you know? You were in the boys locker room with me when they were talking."
Shifting her grip on him, Tooru gestured over at Mina. "Mina told me. She was figuring that as the singular biggest girl here, I might be best able to survive being stabbed by the frog sword. We'll see some day, I guess. Assuming we're good. We're good?"
His hand came up to ruffle her invisible hair playfully. "I mean, it wasn't a dump-worthy thing. I'm glad we got it out of the way early on, so it wasn't a surprise later on. And like she said, it's still a work in progress. For all we know, by the time that her and I are ready to..." Trailing off, he gestured vaguely with his free hand as he blushed darkly, hoping people got what he was implying. "It might not even be an issue anymore."
Flopping sideways onto Kyouka, Mina gestured to the purple-haired girl. "I feel like we should make it Kyouka's issue. She's the one who doesn't have a gag reflex."
"Mina! You can't just say things like that." Shoving Mina off of her, Kyouka blushed almost as brightly as Izuku as her jacks waved anxiously in the air on either side of her face. "Besides, that's awfully big talk from someone who's never even kissed another person before."
Slightly impeded by the fact that Tooru was wrapped around his right side, Izuku scratched the back of his head with his left hand before gesturing from Tsuyu to Kyouka. "Uh, don't take this as me supporting what Mina said because wow, yeah, way too lewd. But you might want Tsuyu to be your first kiss, Kyouka. We had an, err, tongue issue that you might be uniquely suited to dealing with."
Kyouka tapped her jacks together shyly as she continued to blush. "I mean, we can see what happens? Are we actually going to try playing Spin the Bottle at some point? I can't help but notice Mina has in fact found us a bottle."
"Actually, before we do that..." Pulling out of Tooru's grasp, Izuku leaned down to recover his notepad from where his backpack was sitting on the floor at the edge of the habitation zone. "Tooru and I briefly touched on this but I'm glad we didn't get too far because we weren't taking into account that our relationship would literally double in size after school. But I was thinking we might need a schedule? Tooru's made it clear that it's going to be both of us as the core of the polycule, rather than just me, but we kind of need to figure out what to do with the rest of you. I thought that we might also want to have distinct group times and separate dating times, so I was going to propose that we move to a rotating A week, B week schedule like American high schools use."
Perking up, Himiko raised her hand. "Idea: we go with that alternating week idea, with five solo date days per week and then group dates on Saturday and Sunday we just relax. That's completely fair and even and also, that opens up space for a potential three extra girlfriends for Izuku if we meet anyone else fun at school."
Tooru bounced across the room, dropping to her knees and skidding to a stop in front of Himiko. "Himi-hime, that is a great idea with one small problem: we are out of girls. Izukun is dating literally every girl in our class."
"Okay, but hear me out... I was in a testing area with this chick with vine hair and I saw her in the hallway on my way to class today." Leaning forward, Himiko offered a fang-filled grin as she lowered her voice conspiratorially. "Shibari potential."
Izuku chuckled nervously. "I'm in danger."
