Chapter Twenty-Two:

Putting a New Power to The Test

In Nintendo HQ, Teletubbies and Toads were busy sorting out project files and data related to Smash Brothers and other games on behalf of Master Hand and the company's other officials. None of them even thought of great powers or the idea of someone wielding immense superhuman strength, with the exception of other people, then they heard a sound.

Everyone looked outside their windows, seeing a mass come into view. The mass came closer, shrouded by a bright purple light. And then, it became clearer, taking the shape of a muscular Waluigi.

One Toad was bewildered, thinking it was a dream, but this was real.

As if in a trance, people stepped back, watching as the being who resembled Waluigi waved his staff and the windows opened. People stood silently, gazing upon this new nigh-omnipotent being. Some bowed with surprise, showing respect to this deity who'd appeared. If their eyes weren't deceiving them, then it had clear as day that Waluigi had become a god.

He hardly looked at them and glided through, opening the door without touching the knob, gliding down the halls as Teletubbies turned from their tasks, watching with surprise. One dropped to his knees, staring into Waluigi's glowing blue eyes.

And it was believed that The Lord was the most powerful being in the universe above Master Hand or someone else. But this, this new Waluigi, he possessed powers beyond all comprehension.

Some would begin to think that God had taken a new form and a new name. And for years, He had many names; Zeus, Jehovah, Jupiter, Horus. And, at one point, it would be nearly assumed that Kal-El, Superman, could be one of them. Then there was Doctor Manhattan. And now, there was Waluigi. But if he was a deity of anything, it was of rage, of wrath, of fury.

Waluigi was no Messiah figure, he was not a Creator. He was less than Savior or Maker.

In his office, Master Hand continued to oversee the progress around the development of Smash Bros Ultimate, making sure that no Teletubbies were slacking off. And then, the door opened and people gasped, some rose from their chairs and dropped to their knees, bowing as if in prayer and respect.

"I have returned..."

Master Hand turned and, to his dismay, he saw him. And his dismay was replaced with surprise, seeing Waluigi take this new form. If he had more than one hand, Master Hand would pinch himself to see if he was dreaming. But this was no dream, Waluigi was muscular-looking compared to his usual lanky self and he was surrounded by a glowing blue and purple aura of great power.

"What do you want now?" Master Hand asked, he was already fed up with the Wah man coming in. He'd told him 'no' to being in Smash several times before and he was ready to do it again, maybe threaten to ban him from the next Mario Party or Mario Kart if it persisted. Waluigi had to be one of the most annoying and stubborn people in Nintendo Land.

"I've discovered and unlocked unique ability, an ability which may be enough for YOU to LET ME into Smash." The Wah man said with an ominous sneer.

"Ugh." The omnipotent sentient hand groaned, "I'll admit, that form does look impressive. What can you do with it?"

"This."

Waluigi raised his staff and pointed it at a pair of Teletubbies in the room. The tip of Waluigi's wand glowed and a bright ball of light shot forth, striking the Teletubbies, and dark mist flooded the area as Waluigi's new victims dropped to the ground, crying and writhing in agony.

"Oh, the pain..." Dipsy wailed.

"What is this? I feel so sad, why do I feel so sad?" An orange Tellytubby cried.

"I feel as though this world is cruel and there isn't any love and kindness." Po whimpered.

Master Hand watched with astonishment and perhaps a little bit of terror, seeing the pain that Waluigi had just put the staff members in.

If he had eyes, they would be wide as saucers right now. Master Hand looked at the writhing Teletubbies, then he looked at Waluigi, with shock. He'd never seen such power like this before, he'd seen Kameks cast all sorts of spells from their wands, but Waluigi appeared to be more powerful than them or anyone else with superpowers.

"Well?" Waluigi asked with a grin.

"Let's give it a test." Master Hand replied, "If it's good enough, I'll let you into Smash."

He snapped his fingers and Nintendo HQ vanished as darkness surrounded Master Hand, Waluigi and a pair of Teletubbies. Moments later, the Wah man was floating over a platform in a light-black void surrounded by green lines; the Final Space arena.

Waluigi held his staff sharply and glared at the Teletubbies in front of him, looking up at the super-powered Italian as if they didn't know what to do.

And then, the blue Tellytubby drew a gun, which usually wasn't allowed in a Nintendo game unless it was Metroid, Star Fox or Splatoon, and fired at Waluigi. The bullets bounced off his torso as if he were made of steel, making Waluigi mentally chuckle at the thought of how people would soon be comparing him to Superman.

No, he was above Superman. Superman didn't need to wield a staff or use the power Waluigi had, the Man of Steel certainly would not stand a chance against the Wah man, neither would Batman or Iron Man or Thanos or Darkseid or that web-slinging punk Spider-Man.

And those lesser Teletubbies never had a chance at beating him as he had this form.

Waluigi flicked his staff, unleashing a beam of energy upon all the Teletubbies in the arena. Dark mist seeped out of the orb, descending on the colorful, psychotic and semi-happy, go-lucky creatures as the beam hit them. In a second, the Teletubbies dropped to the ground, whimpering and shivering with sorrow.

The observing Master Hand clicked his fingers again and a Koopa appeared, Waluigi flicked his staff and blasted the Koopa, making him cry with pain and roll on the ground.

"No." The Koopa sobbed, "What is this pain? I have never felt as sad as this before..."

"Yes..." Waluigi hissed, "Feel the pain I've been feeling for years."

He turned towards Master Hand as if he awaited what the sentient glove had to say. However, Waluigi raised his staff and the host of Smash growled in kind, the Wah-man was challenging him to a duel and the prize of his victory; becoming a playable character in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.

Master Hand

"Let me give you a hand FOR YOUR POWER!" Master Hand declared, his tone indicating dry sarcasm mixed with a hint that it was more of a pre-ass kicking one-liner, "Don't begin to think yourself as the ULTIMATE power in the universe if you're going to be using that in Smash, ESPECIALLY AS I CAN SMASH YOU!"

Master Hand floated over Waluigi and then came down, the not-so lanky Italian floated out of the way, watching as the talking glove slammed into the platform. And then, Waluigi swooped down, holding his staff high as the tip glowed, and time slowed down around everyone with the Wario Brother hardly affected by this power.

He brought up his leg and smashed Master Hand in the back. When the flow of time returned to normal, Master Hand grunted in pain and floated back up, then he raised himself and flew at Waluigi in a sweeping motion as if he were slapping him.

Waluigi held up a hand, blocking his foe and freezing him in mid-strike. Then he swished his staff and blasted him with a bolt of energy, Master Hand yelped, then Waluigi grabbed him and threw him into the air. Seconds later, a bright light exploded around Master Hand as if he had just been obliterated.

"Yeah, yeah!" Waluigi sneered excitedly.

Master Hand grunted, then he composed himself and a light glowed around him as he made a full recovery. He stared down at Waluigi, who stared back at him intensely, wondering what the Smash host had to say now. Master Hand had to be impressed, it all depended on what happened from here...
