"Hey Bella... Hope everything is going well for you," Alice smiled, "Hope Edward is being nice towards you. I know my brother can be an ass at times!"

"It's not too bad so far," I smiled.

Alice Cullen was the only friendly person in my late husband's family!

"What are you doing here?" Edward asked her.

"Tanya and I are going shopping, and she asked me to get your credit card. She said hers isn't working," she said.

Haah, and he had the audacity to call me a gold-digger! Look at his girlfriend!

"I know it's none of my business to comment on your personal life, but because you love to call me a gold-digger, I'd like to say that your girlfriend is the one, not me!" I told him after Alice left.

"I know she's a gold-digger. You're not telling me anything new here," he said without taking his eyes off his laptop.

Huh!

"It's simple. I know she loves my money," he said, "But I also get benefits from her. She makes a really good trophy girlfriend."

Well, I didn't know what to say.

He was a jerk and an asshole, and I doubted if there was any point talking to him.

"She might be a gold digger, but she's still better than you," he said as he finally looked up, "At least she is not marrying a cancer patient in the name of 'love'."

"Shut up!" I said, raging with anger, "You don't know anything."

"I just know one thing," he said, "You married my dying uncle to get his money. You haven't done anything to join our fucking family business."

"Well, technically you also haven't done anything on your own. Your grandfather had set up this business, and your dad and uncle had taken it to new heights. I'm not sure if you have provided any kind of contribution to this business."

"That's what I'm saying," he replied calmly, "You don't know anything, and yet you're here."

"And you can't do anything about it," I said.
