Nikola now realises he has a lot to learn about this relationship between mother and daughter, he hopes one day he will be able to work them out. He goes to Helen, and she apologises for making fun of him, but it is all just payback for all he has done to them. She makes her own promise that she will speak with Natalie and make it, so they don't trick him with their identities like this again, but she makes no promises that her daughter won't try to trick him further in other ways. Hearing this makes his arrogance peak again, there is no possible way she could trick him in other ways she's not as bright as him. Little did he know that this was true, but not in the way he saw it, she indeed was not as bright as he was but smarter.

It's not unusual when the team get called out to help an abnormal get to the Sanctuary safely, but it is when the team turn up to the location and can't find the one that called for help. Magnus, Will and Kate had made their way to the old abandoned building, they searched the place, finding no trace of an abnormal looking for their help. On their way out, though, Magnus gets trapped, unable to get the door open, she tries to shoot out the glass but fails. She then tries to call for help, but for some reason, her phone is not working, deciding this door won't open, she goes to look for another way out. During her search, she gets attacked by an unknown person who seems to know a lot about her,

"Who are you?" Helen asks.

"Wouldn't... you… like to know?" The mysterious man tells her while appearing and disappearing.

"You locked me in here. Jammed my phone. Trapped me on purpose." She asks

"Basically, yes." He replies.

"To make you feel good, having the upper hand? Stop it!" She yells at him as he again disappears and reappears on the other side of her.

"You mean stop doing... this?" He says while appearing right in front of her with a knife to her throat her, "No. I've waited a long time for this. I want it to last." He says. That's when she kicks him, allowing her to run down the hallway. Unfortunately, he appears quickly, tripping her.

"Gotcha." He says.

"How do you know me?" She asks.

"How indeed."

Helen manages to break free again and runs into another room, again he appears, but this time, instead of tripping her, he grabs her and throws her across the room. This time she is able to learn what he wants from her, information about the holographic map. He was the one who sent the creatures against Will. They struggle some more, and Helen makes her way to another room, trying to hide from this mysterious man as she works out how to get out of this building. He finds her again when she tries to call for help through a cracked window, coming at her with a knife again, and she fights back. This time she is able to grab his mask and pull it off. Whom she sees is someone she would not have suspected, believing to have killed this person a very long time ago. After he explains how he has trapped her, they fight again, and Magnus gets the upper hand only long enough to run again. He follows her down into the basement corridors, as he looks for her, he yells out to her about their past and her friendships with the five. About how she could have saved his daughter, about the pain of losing a child, something she would know about with Ashley. How he knew about Ashley, she didn't know, she only hoped that this meant he didn't know about Natalie, she could only imagine what he would do to her if he knew. After what seemed like hours, Magnus finally got the upper hand on Adam, attacking him and getting him to take her through the rift. When they come out of the rift, she stabs him, which makes him set off his device to detonate. He collapses, allowing her to grab him and make their way to the exit. She hoped that with the device about to detonate, she could open the door, which, luckily, she could. Not knowing all that Helen had been through, Will and Kate, who were outside and no time seemed to have passed for them, heard glass shattering. Turning to find a beat-up Helen with a mysterious unconscious man, they question her as to what happened, her only reply is that they were in trouble.

Kate stays to keep an eye on the building while Magnus and Will rush Adam to the Sanctuary, at times like these, Helen doesn't like her need to help everyone, even those who don't deserve it. Upon their arrival, they find Henry and Nikola in the elevator,

"Son of a bitch." Tesla says, seeing whom they have brought in.

"Whom we got?" Henry asks.

"Well, I guess cockroaches can come back from the dead," Tesla says as he looks at Helen.

"Who the hell is this guy?" Henry asks again.

"Not one person but two. Prepare to meet Jekyll... and Hyde." Nikola told him and Will, and both looked shocked hearing the names.

"I'm going to assist," Will tells Magnus as they arrive at the O.R.

"It's not necessary." She tells him.

"He just kicked the snot out of you. Let me help."

"I can handle it. Go, help Henry."

"Your pupils are dilated, you could have a concussion. Look at the tremor in your hands."

"I am 159 years old. You have known me for three."

"Fine, but I'm calling Natalie, she won't take no for an answer, and she can help." He tells her, reaching for his phone and calling Natalie. Hearing what happened, she quickly made her way down.

"You want to tell me at least who he is?" Will asked Magnus as they waited for Natalie.

"I've told you how the five of us began at Oxford, working to understand secrets hidden from mainstream science…" She explained, telling him the story of when she was in school. During her explanation, Natalie arrives and begins to get ready to help her mother, by the time Helen has finished her story, they are both prepped and ready to begin the surgery. While they are in the O.R., Will quickly checks in with Henry before coming back and watching the surgery, he is not the only one when Nikola arrives as well,

"Homicidal little bastard. He should have come after me first." He tells Will, taking note of how of course, Natalie was somehow a doctor as well and in there helping her mother.

"Is this how all Oxford classmates treat each other?" Asks Will.

"How much did she tell you?"

"Just that The Five was almost The Six."

"Yes, well, in retrospect, there were signs. Subtle markers... but we were young, and, believe it or not, even a tad arrogant." Nikola begins to explain the story of when Adam tried to join their group by interrupting one of their experiments.

"This doesn't make any sense. We stopped the internal bleeding. We saved the burn on his arm, and there's no sign of infection." Helen discussed this with her daughter as they made their way out of the O.R.

"Sounds like a hat trick to me," Will says after hearing what they were discussing.

"Then why are his organs failing?" Helen asks him.

"I'm going to get started on these tests," Natalie told them before grabbing the vials of blood she took from Adam and making her way to the lab. Magnus and Will transferred Adam to a secure medical cell, and Nikola made his way to Henry's lab after making sure that Helen was ok. After making sure everything was set with Adam, Will and Magnus made their way to the lab to check in with Natalie.

"Adam's blood and tissue samples." Natalie shows them when they arrive.

"What's up with these cell walls?" Will asks, looking at the monitor.

"Degrading at an alarming rate," Helen says, noticing the unusual cell walls as well.

"Well, that's got to be some kind of virus," Will says.

"It's not wholly systemic. It seems to be targeting his critical organs. I suspect it's some form of radiation sickness." Natalie explains.

"The man did figure out a way to speed up time. I'm assuming this is the price." Adds Will.

"We may be able to slow the deterioration, but..." Helen says, looking at the test results Natalie had provided her.

"He's dying." Says Will

"Yes." Both Natalie and Magnus confirm.

"Well, before we work out whatever treatment plan we're going to try, I'm going to check your injuries," Natalie told her mother. Helen tried to tell her it wasn't necessary, but the look her daughter was giving her told her she wasn't giving in. So she allowed her daughter to check her over and take a sample of her blood, with Natalie insisting it was necessary after knowing what was happening to Adam. That's when Tesla's voice came over the speaker,

"Good afternoon, K-Mart shoppers... Our guest is awake." With Natalie finished her examination of Helen she let her mother and Will head down to check on Adam, she would continue running tests while they were gone.

Knowing Natalie was staying in the lab made Helen happy, she wanted to keep her daughter away from Adam for as long as possible, hoping he didn't already know about her. They arrived at the Medical cell, Nikola met them there,

"Your protégé? Or male concubine? He's nice." Adam said as they walked in.

"Adam..." Helen asks.

"Not available," Adam replies.

"Tell me, how is this, any of this, possible?" Helen continues to ask.
"You mean, how did I survive? Tell me your secrets, I'll tell you mine."

"You're ill. You need treatment. Help us, and we'll help you."

"Oh, Helen, you've grown so impatient in your old age. Play the game, don't just berate me."

"You could have just let him die," Nikola interjects.

"I think you might want to tick that one off your list," Adam tells them.

"How are you still alive?" Helen asks him again.

"He really didn't tell you?" Adam asks

"Who?" Asks Helen, confused.

"Good lad. So he carved up a few whores. We all have our quirks." Adam tells them.

"You're talking about Druitt," Will says, realising whom Adam was referring to.

"Score one for the concubine. Helen, if you want answers, you must talk to old Johnny."

"I can't," Helen tells him.

"Helen..." Adam says not believing she can't.

"I don't know where he is. He could well be dead, for all we know." She tells him, and that's when Nikola informs them,

"Uh, actually..."

"Oh, what have you done?" Adam asks mischievously.

"Nikola?" Asks Helen.

"You know where he is," Will asks

"Kinda?" He tells them.

After leaving Adam in the cell the three of them make their way to Helen's office she was going to find out what Nikola knew. Nikola went on to explain that Druitt had come to him looking for help with his energy elemental, he told them he had tried to help but didn't succeed. Going on to tell Helen the reason he hadn't said anything was that he promised John he wouldn't tell her. Hearing this she told him to tell her where he was, Nikola reluctantly told her. So after finding out where he was she set off to go find him, leaving Will to stay with Adam and see if he could get anything out of him. Nikola went to find Henry again to see if he had made any progress with the device Adam had, Natalie was still down in the lab running tests and trying to find a treatment for Adam's sickness.
