Turning to face the Colonel, the man he had named as Mitchell Gant let out a gasp of surprise. 'Colonel Kontarsky? What are you doing here?'
Beckett, who was sitting on the other corner bed, opposite the Colonel's, looked to Gant, and then back to the Colonel, as the other people in the room moved to the center of the gap between the two rows of beds. 'Wait a minute, you two know each other?'
'Well, Mr Gant,' sneered the Colonel. 'Will you tell them, or shall I?'
'Excuse me,' came the voice of Madame Pomfrey, 'could someone help move these screens back?'
A the four teens walked over to the hidden bed, and moved the screens, Gant looked around the room, as if checking his surroundings, in an apparent attempt to ignore Kontasky, before returning his gaze to Price. 'So, what exactly has been going on here?'
'That's what I've been sent to find out!' said the slightly plump, balding red haired wizard who entered the room. He was wearing green robes over a light brown checked three piece suit, white shirt, with navy blue bow tie, and black leather shoes. A brown attaché case was gripped firmly in his left hand.
'Dad!' cried Ron and Ginny, who both rushed round the edge of the bed, past Harry and Hermione, to join their father.
'Oh, thank goodness you're alright!' sighed Mr Weasley. 'Molly will be relieved about you four!'
'It is good to see you, Arthur, said Dumbledore, 'especially under such trying circumstances! What is the situation with the Ministry?'
'Total chaos!' replied Mr Weasley, as he walked over to Dumbledore and McGonagall, while Ron and Ginny resumed their places by the bed, next to Madame Pomfrey. 'A number of high ranking officials, including Rufus Scrimgeour and Kingsley Shaklebolt, have been incapacitated, due to Death Eater attacks, and are being treated at St Mungos, Peter Pettigrew's been located alive, and placed in a body bind, and Vernon Dursley's sister Marge has been transported to 4 Privet Drive, just as Pansy Parkinson, Gregory Goyle and Millecent Bulstrode found themselves in Harry's bedroom, which means Marge now knows the truth about his situation!'
'Blimey, Harry!' cried Ron. 'How's your uncle going to talk his way out of this?'
'Oh, I'm sure he'll think of something!, said Mr Weasley, as he briefly turned to acknowledge the muggles in the room, before fixing his gaze on the bed. 'Is that Myrtle?'
'Yes, it is, Arthur,' replied Madame Pomfrey, pointing to the blond haired woman approaching him. 'Major Price here carried her all the way from the girl's toilets.'
'Well, when I was told there was possible muggle activity in the school grounds, due to failure of the , I never expected any of this!
'I presume it was Cornelius who sent you here?' asked Professor McGonagall, with a hint of ice in her voice.
'Actually, no, he's been removed as Minister, due to loss of public confidence! Amos Diggory has been persuaded to take over as interim Minister.'
'Pretty good choice, under the circumstances,' remarked Price, who showed Mr Weasley her ID Card, before explaining the night's events to him. Just as she finished, a loud groan was heard coming from Myrtle's bed, prompting Madame Pomfrey and the teens to crowd around the headboard end, while the other adults moved forward.
'Oh, thank goodness!' sighed the matron, who now leaned forward towards the prone figure. 'Miss Warren?'
As the group watched, Myrtle opened her eyes, gently shook her head and, with Madame Pomfrey's help, eased herself into a sitting position, before spotting Ron.
'Oh, It's you!' Slowly, she looked around. 'What's going on? Why am I sitting on a bed in the Hospital Wing?'
We found you unconscious on the toilet floor.' explained Ron, standing to Myrtle's left, between Ginny, who was behind him, and Madame Pomfrey, standing at the head of the bed. 'How are you feeling?'
'Since when did you care about how I feel?' snapped Myrtle, crossing her arms in front of her.
To everyone's surprise, Ron breathed a sigh of relief. 'She'll be alright!'
'If I didn't know better, Ronald Weasley,' said Professor McGonagall from across the room, 'I'd think you actually enjoy being insulted!'
'Only by Myrtle, Professor!' replied Ginny.
'Just not too often!' added Harry, standing on Myrtle's right..
