Shoutouts:
The sun was shining outside of Mallow's restaurant as Ash, Jordan, Pikachu and Meeko watched Mallow and Bounsweet work on something. "Huh?" said Rotom.
Narrator: Bounsweet's behavior is very strange. What is it doing? What's going on here?
Jordan: Good question.
Meeko, tilting her head in confusion: Cario….
"Way to go, Bounsweet." cheered Mallow.
"Oh! Bounsweet." said Bounsweet, accidentally trips and catches the food. "Bounsweet."
Narrator: It seems our heroes have no idea what Bounsweet is doing either.
"Do you have any idea what Bounsweet's up to?" asked Rotom.
"I don't know, Rotom. I'm too scared to ask." said Jordan.
"Beats me." said Ash. "Mallow!"
"Not now! We're concentrating!" snapped Mallow.
"Ugh! Right!" said Ash as Jordan grabs her brother around his waist.
"Wow, she became scary." said Jordan.
"Pika. Cario."
"Now, that's the spirit, Bounsweet!" said Mallow. "All right, full speed!"
"Bounsweet!" said Bounsweet as she tries to go a little faster down the road.
"Wow!" said Mallow, clicking the stop watch in her hand. "And you did it all in great time!"
"Bounsweet." said Bounsweet, smiling at her trainer.
"If we keep training every day until the race, your time will get even quicker!" Mallow said to Bounsweet.
"Bounsweet! Bounsweet!" said Bounsweet, taking flight off the ground.
"Did you say race?" asked Ash.
"Can you clue us in, please?" asked Jordan.
"Yeah." said Meeko, confused as well.
"That's right. I guess you wouldn't know about it." said Mallow. "It's a Melemele tradition. The Pokémon pancake race."
"The Pokémon pancake race?" asked Ash and Jordan.
"Lucario?" asked Meeko, looking down at Pikachu who shrugged up at her.
"I've never heard of it." said Rotom.
"I know!" said Mallow. "Why don't the two of you join in all the fun? Anyone can participate. The rules are simple and I know you'll have fun!"
"Hey, maybe I'll give it a shot!" said Ash.
"I don't know." said Jordan, looking down at Meeko. "Meeko packs in a lot of food and there are days when she gets really heavy."
"You're telling me that I'm actually fat? I'm not that heavy and you know it." said Meeko, looking at her body weight.
"Come on, Jordan. You'll have a lot of fun." Ash said.
"Please, Jordan." said Mallow.
"Okay, but Ash and Pikachu have to make sure that we don't get left behind in the dust." said Jordan.
"Lucario." said Meeko.
"Great! The day of the race is like a giant festival." said Mallow.
"Pika! Pika!" said Pikachu.
"Lucario!" said Meeko. In the city, Kukui, Jordan and Ash exited the store with bags in their arms. "Let's see. I guess we've gotten enough for a while." said Kukui.
"There's so much." said Ash. "How come?"
"Someone in my house has a bigger appetite than his sister." he answered.
"I did try and tell you, Professor Kukui." said Jordan, carrying a couple lighter bags in her hands. "Both he and a certain mouse do. Especially when you leave them both in the same room unsupervised."
"Cario. Lucar." said Meeko.
"Huh?" said Ash and Pikachu.
"Uh, say Ash? Jordan?" Kukui asked, facing the siblings. "Want to grab a quick bite with me?"
"We sure do!" said Ash and Jordan.
"Pika! Cario!" said Pikachu and Meeko.
"Rock! Ruff!" barked Rockruff.
"I wonder who that someone is." said Rotom. As they entered the restaurant with the groceries, the owner walks up. "Professor Kukui! It's nice to see you!" she said.
"You, too, Nina." said Kukui and sees the poster on the wall. "Oh! Is it that time of year already? Time flies."
"Hey! The Pokémon Pancake Race!" said Ash and Jordan.
"Pikachu! Lucario!"
"Ash, you and Jordan heard of it before?" asked Kukui.
"Yeah, Mallow told us." said Ash. "Actually, she invited us to join in."
"I think you both should." said Nina. "You're going to have the best time!"
"Hold on. You're the girl on the poster, aren't you?" asked Ash.
"I'm Nina. Raichu?" she said, seeing that her Raichu was waiting on a table.
"Uh? Rai!" said Raichu, looking up and comes floating in on its tail next to its trainer. "Rai! Rai!"
"This is my partner, Raichu." said Nina.
"Nina and Raichu were champions at last year's Pokémon Pancake race." explained Kukui.
"You two were champions?" exclaimed Ash.
"Pika!" said Pikachu.
"All right! Wow, Raichu, I can see why you're the champion!" said Ash, taking a closer look at Raichu. "The way you can float like that is so cool!"
"Rai, Rai!" said Raichu, taking in the praise.
"Raichu, Alola form, the mouse Pokémon, an electric and psychic type." said Rotom. "Raichu manipulates electricity with its mind and its psychic powers allow it to use its tail as transportation."
"Awesome. It's not just an electric type. It's a psychic type too!" said Ash.
"Pikachu, if you do decide to evolve, you can definitely evolve here." Jordan whispered to her brother's Pokémon.
"Pika, Pika." replied Pikachu, then points his finger at her. "Pika, Pika, Pika."
"You know that I wouldn't do it without asking you first." said Jordan, knowing full well what Pikachu was telling her. "Besides, I didn't even bring the stone. You know me better than that."
"Pikachu." Pikachu said, giving her a smile.
"Rai, Rai." said Raichu, boasting its powers.
"And here you go." said Nina, bringing their plates. "Three Alola pancake stakes, coming up!"
"Rai!" said Raichu.
"And in a few minutes, we're going to get a silly reaction from a certain little mouse." said Jordan.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked her. "Pika, Pika-Pik."
"Because I know you're going to get jealous, Pikachu." Jordan tells him.
"Look at that!" said Kukui. "They look so delicious."
"Sure do. Oh man." said Ash.
"Rai! Rai!" replied Raichu.
"They're about the same size as the stack at the race." said Nina.
"I can't wait!" said Ash.
"Thanks, Raichu." said Jordan.
"If the stack falls or you drop your plate, you're immediately disqualified, but it'll be so much fun." said Nina.
"What do you say?" Ash asks Pikachu. "Want to be in it with me?"
"Pika! Pikachu! Pikachu!" Pikachu replied when Raichu appears behind him.
"Rai! Rai!" said Raichu, smugly.
"Pika. Pikachu." said Pikachu, getting in Raichu's face.
"I think Raichu's found a rival." Nina said giggling.
"Called it." said Jordan.
"Pikachu." Pikachu tells her.
"Whatever you say, Pikachu…" Jordan said calmly. "I'm just calling it like I see it."
"You've had rivals before, Pikachu." said Meeko in agreement.
"Nina, would you mind telling me and my sister more about the race?" asked Ash.
"Not at all, but first, you should eat your lunch." replied Nina.
"Good deal!" said Ash.
"Dig in! I'll bet that pancake stack brings both of you good luck." said Kukui. "So, what do you say?"
"Down the hatch!" all three of them said as they cut into their stacks. "Mm!"
"Delicious!" said Kukui.
"Yummy!" said Jordan.
"They're the best!" said Ash.
"Pika. Cario." said Pikachu and Meeko, watching their trainers eat.
"Ah. You want some, Pikachu?" asked Ash.
"Pika!" said Pikachu as Ash gives him a piece. "Pikachu!"
"I didn't forget about you, Meeko." said Jordan, giving her Pokémon a piece from her plate.
"Lucar!" said Meeko, tasting the pancake. "Lucario!"
"You too, Rockruff." said Kukui, giving it a piece as well. Outside of the restaurant, Pikachu and Meeko were racing against Raichu. "Rai! Rai!" said Raichu, holding its stack of pancakes while Pikachu and Meeko carried theirs on their backs.
"Pika." panted Pikachu.
"Cario, Cario." said Meeko, gritting her teeth as she pushes herself further.
"That's the way it's done, Raichu." said Nina.
"La-la-lai!" said Raichu, zooming along on its tail.
"Looking good, you two." said Ash and Jordan.
"Pikachu's slowly picking up speed, you're moving up from a five-kilometer start!" said Rotom. "Meeko, on the other hand, is catching up."
On the sand, Jessie catches a glimpse of Raichu. "Hey, look over there." said Jessie, eating a popsicle. "It looks a little bit like a Raichu but the Raichu I've seen don't do any floating."
"Mm-hm." said James, his popsicle in his mouth as he sees Raichu.
"It's cute. No, it's mondo-adorable." Jessie added, as she looks over at James. "Don't you think?"
"Let me see." said James with his popsicle in his mouth, taking out the handbook and flips through it. "Hold on. It's a Raichu, all right, but an Alolan Raichu looks a tad different than its familiar counterpart."
"Seeing how Pokémon look is Alola is one of the coolest parts of this groovy island gig." said Meowth, popping out of the sand.
"Now, Raichu, time to give it the gas!" Nina called out.
"You too, Meeko and Pikachu." said Ash.
"Pika! Cario!" said Pikachu and Meeko as they both tried to catch up to Raichu.
"You've both increased your speed to 15 kilometers per hour!" said Rotom.
"La-la-la-la!" said Raichu, singing.
"Pika, Pika, Pika!" said Pikachu, starting to run with Meeko at his heels.
"Hey! The twerp siblings, Pikachu and Meeko are out there too!" Meowth exclaimed.
"And the Pokedex, the one that can float." added Jessie.
"Raichu, that was great!" said Nina, beaming at her Pokémon. "If you keep up this pace, we'll be able to win this year as well!"
"Rai!" said Raichu as both Pikachu and Meeko caught up to it, panting.
"Both your stacks are in perfect order." said Rotom. "Shall we aim to shave three minutes off your time during the next practice?"
"Pikachu." said Pikachu, tiredly.
"You gave it your all. Great!" said Ash, taking the pancakes off of Pikachu.
"Pikachu."
Meeko looks up at Rotom, giving him a mean look. "I give, I give. I'm not….doing the race." panted Meeko as she tiredly shakes her head.
"Looks like you've got your answer from her." said Jordan. "I still think that me and Meeko are in over our heads about this race."
"You know, I wouldn't blame you one bit, sis." said Ash, understanding. "Besides, you're more than welcome to help Pikachu and I for the race."
"Good idea." she tells him as Meeko nodded. As Ash says that to his sister, Raichu floats up next to Pikachu. "Rai!" said Raichu, smirking.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said angrily and sparks appeared from their cheeks.
"Again? Oh dear, what am I to do with you?" said Nina as she picks up her Raichu. "You were great too, Pikachu! And that was your first time. And you didn't drop the plate or a single pancake. Keep practicing and you might have a shot at being top finisher."
"You think so?" Ash asked, then turns to Pikachu. "Wouldn't that be awesome?"
"Pika, Pika!" exclaimed Pikachu.
"Now I see." said James as he, Jessie and Meowth peered out from behind the tree. "The Pokémon Pancake race."
"The what?" asked Jessie.
"Check this!" said Meowth, holding a poster in his paws.
"Hm? Huh?"
"The lugs on this poster are the ones we just saw!" said Meowth.
"You're right!" said Jessie.
"So, they were last year's champions!" said James.
"Uh-huh. The winning pair gets an all you can eat pancake palooza prize anywhere in the Alola region absolutely free for a year!" said Meowth.
"All you can eat pancakes?" asked Jessie, then turns away laughing hysterically. "Then we need to enter that race and win, win, win!"
"Who, us?" asked James and Meowth.
"You. I'll get a year's supply of free pancakes and you're going to win it for me." said Jessie.
"Uh…as you wish." said the boys.
"Wobbuffet." said Wobbuffet.
"Psst!" said a voice, coming from the other side of the tree, causing Team Rocket to turn around to see Jordan and Meeko.
"What do you want, baby Twerp?" asked Jessie.
"I couldn't help but overhear that you three." said Jordan.
"Yeah, so?" said James.
"Well, it's time for Meowth to cash in on several captures of Pikachu." said Jordan.
"Really? Already?" asked Meowth.
"Yep, it's finally time, now let's make it happen, Meowth." she stated to the cat as she gets out her notebook. "You guys are going to take my place with Meeko in this race."
"Lucario, Lucar, Cario." said Meeko.
"What did she say?" asked James.
"Translation please." Jessie said to Meowth.
"Meeko said that she would rather watch the Pokémon Pancake race than participate in it." said Meowth.
"We'll take it." said Jessie.
"Good." said Jordan and turns to Jessie. "Next time, don't be so loud. You don't know who can hear you guys." Jessie chuckles nervously as Jordan hears her brother calling out her name.
"Lucario." Meeko called out over her shoulder.
"Blue skies and a beautiful day! Perfect for our celebration of a Melemele Island Tradition! The Pokémon Pancake Race!" said a woman announcer on the day of the race. "And we at Alola TV will be proudly broadcasting the entire exciting race to all Alola islands live! If you look at the diagram on your screen. You can see this year's race course."
On the screen, it showed the course of what Ash and Pikachu were taking.
"All our human competitors must clear obstacles, such as steep inclines, until they finally join their Pokémon partners. They must pull their partners in a wagon until they get to their next checkpoint. And after that?" said the announcer. "The leg of the competition with Pokémon only! If any Pokémon uses an attack to hinders their opponents, then that Pokémon will be immediately disqualified! Oh! We've got a lot of competitors gathering at the starting line as the excitement mounts!"
In the stands, Kukui, Lillie and Jordan were watching the others. "Have a great time out there!" Kukui called out.
"You can do it, guys!" shouted Jordan.
"Lucar!" said Meeko with a drink in her hand.
"Rock!" barked Rockruff.
"Good luck to all of you!" said Lillie.
"Hey, thanks!" said Ash.
"You'll be proud!" said Kiawe.
"We want to hear you out there." added Mallow.
"Okay!" Lillie replied with a smile. Unknown to her, catching Jordan's eye, the egg in Lillie's arms started to slightly glow. "Lucario?" asked Meeko, causing Jordan to nod.
"The egg is about ready to hatch." Jordan whispered to Meeko. "I'd say within the next day or two."
"Cario." Meeko said with a smile.
"And here's Nina, last year's winner!" said the announcer. "Do you think you'll be making it two wins in a row?"
"I know this race was created to be a source of fun and enjoyment for Melemele island's citizens, so I'd say my number one goal is to have a wonderful time!" said Nina. "And my number two goal is to stay safe. So, I guess that would place winning at number three!"
"I like Nina's confidence." said Ash.
"Is she really that good?" asked Kiawe.
"Nina and Raichu swept the competition in last year's race." said Mallow. "But, Ash, it kind of bothers me that I was the one who told you and Jordan about the race, then you both practiced with last year's champion instead of me."
"Uh, it wasn't on purpose. Sorry." said Ash.
"(Giggles) Don't worry. I was just kidding." said Mallow.
"Her partner Raichu seems really confident too." said Rotom.
"When it comes to teamwork, Pikachu and I can't be beat!" said Ash.
"Don't forget me and Bounsweet." said Mallow.
"Togedemaru and I are always in sync!" said Sophocles.
"Turtonator and I have a passion in our hearts burning hotter than fire." said Kiawe.
"Popplio, I'll be there really soon." said Lana.
"It's time for some fun in the Sunflora! Let's make like a Charizard and fly!" said Principal Oak.
Mallow looks up at Jordan, who was sitting in the stands. "I wondered why Jordan decided not to race." said Mallow.
"Jordan felt like she was being pressured into competing in races and she's not that kind of person." Ash explains.
"I can understand that." said Kiawe.
"I would be too. I don't blame her." said Mallow. Just then, confetti cannons were fired and the race begins with trainers taking off. "And there they go! First off, we have the competition for the trainers!" said the reporter.
The crowd chatters and laughs as they went up the hill. "Hey, you guys, do you have to run so fast?" asked Sophocles, panting as he tries to keep up with his classmates. At the balance beam course, trainers were falling as they tried to keep their stacks from falling.
"Oh no! Suddenly, we've got disqualifications coming thick and fast." said the announcer as Sophocles was about to drop his stack of pancakes on a balance beam.
"Oh! Whew." he said, not dropping his plate until several of the pancakes starts sliding off. "Oh, no! Argh!" Sophocles groans as he falls to the ground.
"Thanks so much, Muk!" said the announcer as a group of Alolan Muk starts eating the fallen pancakes. "As you can see, these Muk really love the taste of pancakes, and they love cleaning them up!"
"Uh…hey, thanks to all of you." said Sophocles, chuckling. Already at the wagons, Ash was pulling Pikachu who was holding the plate.
"Rai! Rai!" said Raichu as it was passing Pikachu.
"Pika!" Pikachu said, straining to keep the pancakes steady.
"One whole year's supply of free pancakes." said a determined Jessie, pulling Mimikyu in the wagon behind her. "I won't stop until I pop! One million! Ten million!"
Just then, Mimikyu sees Pikachu and became angry. "And they're all free!" she then added when Mimikyu starts its shadow ball. "And they're all for me! Uh-huh. Something's not right." Jessie turns to Mimikyu and see it ready to attack. "Huh? You wouldn't dare!"
The wagon starts rolling back as Mimikyu's shadow ball becomes smaller. "Huh? Hold it right there!" said Jessie as she tries going after Mimikyu. "Don't you dare run away from me and my free pancakes!" She then jumps and grabs the handle. "Will you behave?"
"Okay, Pikachu, once you and I get through all of this, you'll be in the race that's just for Pokémon!" said Ash. "I'll head over to the finish line and be cheering for you there with Jordan, so go for it!"
"Pika, Pika!" said Pikachu, proudly. At the finish line, everyone was watching the race on the screen.
"It appears Principal Oak's partner is a Komala." said Rotom.
"It's so cute." said Jordan.
"Komala, the drowsing Pokémon, a normal type." said Rotom. "Since its ability is comatose, Komala is always asleep. The log it clings to is a gift from its earliest days. It is said Komala's behavior comes from a dream that its having."
Out on the course, James was pulling a make-shift costume of Bewear with Wobbuffet and Meowth inside. "You're too heavy!" grunted James. "You must weigh a ton!"
"You thought it was gonna be different?" Meowth asked from inside the costume. "My Turbo-charged Robo Racer Pancake chaser is state of the art, but it's no lightweight."
"Wobbuffet!" said Wobbuffet.
"Thanks! That's easy for you to say!" said James. "What about you two? Maybe you've gained a pound or ten from living the good life in Bewear's cave, consuming all that honey!"
"I'm as light as the day is long!" Meowth rebutted, shocked at what James said.
"Wobbuffet!" Wobbuffet tells Meowth, groaning after the weight Meowth has put on.
"Maybe that baby twerp can weigh you." muttered James.
"I heard that and I will not be weighed by her!" shouted Meowth. Far behind the other trainers, Kiawe struggled as he pulls Turtonator in the wagon. "Turtonator." Turtonator said to Kiawe.
"There's no problem." said Kiawe, reassuring his partner. "I…I'm fine. I'm fine."
"Turta!" said Turtonator as Kiawe falls to the ground.
"I think I just figured out something." panted Kiawe.
"Turtonator." said Turtonator as Kiawe rolls over to his back.
"It's that you and I aren't made for Pokémon Pancake racing!" he tells Turtonator. At the wagon portion of the race, Togedemaru was still waiting for Sophocles.
"Maru." said Togedemaru, looking for Sophocles when he suddenly runs up.
"Togedemaru, I goofed." He tells her. "We're disqualified from the race."
"Demaru." said Togedemaru.
"Yeah, so let's cheer on everyone else." suggested Sophocles, picking up his partner from the wagon. Togedemaru gets upset and lets out her spikes, causing Sophocles to drop her.
"Hey, that hurts! I'm sorry!" said Sophocles as Togedemaru lets out her angry on him. "At least I said I'm sorry, isn't that something?" On the bridge, Pikachu and Raichu were tied in for first place. "Rai! Rai!" Raichu said to Pikachu.
"Pika, Pika." replied Pikachu. Not far behind, Mimikyu intensely stares at Pikachu and creates a shadow ball. "Oh, no!" said James as he and Jessie reached the finish line to see what Mimikyu was about to do.
"Huh?"
"It's against the rules for a Pokémon to attack another Pokémon during the race." said James.
"Mimikyu, don't do it!" said Jessie.
"Huh?"
"Bounsweet." said Bounsweet, seeing what Mimikyu was about to do.
"No, Bounsweet." said Mallow, watching the screen.
"Mimikyu, no!" shouted Jessie as Bounsweet's pancakes knocked into Mimikyu.
"Popplio." said Lana as Popplio's balloon popped around the pancakes.
"I can't believe what happened." said the announcer. "Mimikyu, Bounsweet and Popplio were all disqualified at the very same time!"
"Huh?" said Lana and Mallow.
"The nerve, that Mimikyu…." said Jessie.
"You two are idiots." said Jordan, appearing with Meeko behind Team Rocket.
"What did you just say?" asked Jessie.
"Where did you come from?" asked James.
"You heard me. You two are idiots." replied Jordan. "Why couldn't the two of you just enter with different Pokémon."
"Uh…." said James.
"Um….." said Jessie.
"Yeah…..that's what I thought." she said, then points to Jessie. "You know well enough that Mimikyu hates my brother's Pikachu. You should have tried entering with Meowth or Wobbuffet for this race while mister 'I'm so rich that my parents tricked me by being dead' could have used Mareanie."
"Oops." said Jessie and James.
"Yeah. If Meowth and Wobbuffet get disqualified, send Meowth to Professor Kukui's house so that we can talk further about how he can get this to go away." said Jordan, walking away from them. "Just so the two of you know, I won't cash in this region because of Bewear. That Pokémon scares me."
"You know…that little twerp is really organized when it comes to us." said Jessie, looking at James.
"No kidding." said James.
"I will admit though, at least we keep her busy." added Jessie. Out on the course, Raichu and Pikachu were still in the lead, followed by Komala, Meowth and Wobbuffet. "Hey! My Robo Racer's going nuts!" shouted Meowth.
"Wobbu!" said Wobbuffet.
"Rai! Rai!" said Raichu.
"Pika! Pika!" panted Pikachu.
"Go for it, Pikachu!" shouted Ash.
"Pikachu's going twice as fast!" said Rotom.
"Hope you're having a great dream, Komala!" shouted Principal Oak.
"All right, Raichu, way to go!" said Nina.
"You're almost there, Meow…I mean, Bewear." said James, correcting himself.
"Unlimited Alola pancakes free for a year!" said Jessie.
"And you can't beat that price!" added James.
"Leading the pack is Raichu, who's currently favorite to win." said the announcer. "Pikachu's second, followed by Bewear and Komala is fourth!"
"La-la-lai! Lai!" said Raichu.
"Pi, Pi, Pika." grunted Pikachu, running as fast as he can while Raichu teases him from up ahead. "Pi, Pika. Pika, Pika, Pikachu!"
"Rai! Rai!"
"Hey Ash?" asked Jordan.
"Yeah?"
"I just want to say that no matter what place Pikachu gets, he's number 1 for me and Meeko." said Jordan.
"Tada!" said Meeko, holding up a sign that she and Jordan worked on with Pikachu on it.
"Thanks, Jordan. Thanks Meeko." said Ash.
"No problem, Ash." said Jordan.
"Lucario." said Meeko.
"Pi, Pi, Pi, Pika….." said Pikachu, catching up to Raichu.
"Rai!"
"Pik! Pika, Pika! Pika, Pika, Pikachu!"
Overhead, Pikachu and Raichu were neck and neck. "This rivalry between Raichu and Pikachu is really heating up!" said the announcer.
"Looking good, Pikachu!" shouted Ash and Jordan.
"Cario, Lucar!" added Meeko.
"All right! Pikachu's turned this into a real race!" exclaimed Nina.
"Pi, Pi, Pika!" panted Pikachu, gathering up speed.
"I'm cheering for both Pikachu and Raichu!" said Lillie when suddenly the egg glows for a second. "Oh my."
Inside the Bewear suit, Meowth groans and pants as he gets tired. "Man, I'm dragging in here." said Meowth. "It's hotter than a Rapidash's mane in this tub! This too shall pass. Let's give it the gas!"
"Wobbuffet!" said Wobbuffet. Jessie and James head over to the finish line, looking for Meowth and Wobbuffet. "Where are the two of them? I mean, Bewear." said James.
"If they lose, prepare for a load of hot temper." said Jessie as fire surrounds her body.
"Robo Racer? Let's rock n roll!" said Meowth. "Turbo charge, on!"
Boosters appeared at the back of the disguise and fires up, going past Komala. "Don't blow your stack!" said Meowth as Komala yawns behind him. "I'll leave Pikachu and Raichu in the dust with a pile of pancakes! Turning that turbo up to ten!" On the screen, the fake Bewear starts coming in fast towards the finish line.
"Oh, here it comes!" said James.
"I can taste the pancakes!" said Jessie.
"With lots of syrup!"
"Make them eat your dust!"
"Did you let them know about what happens when they lose?" Ash asked Jordan.
"Already did that." said Jordan, holding a juice box in her hand.
"Lucario." said Meeko, drinking a cup of juice as well.
"Dear me! Bewear's incredible speed is a little bit frightening." said the announcer. "It's almost caught up with our two leaders."
"I see them!" said Rotom.
"Go, Pikachu!" shouted Ash and Jordan.
"You can do it, Raichu!" shouted Nina.
"Rai! Rai!"
"Pika, Pika, Pika!"
"Coming through, losers!" said Meowth, passing between Raichu and Pikachu. "Those pancakes have my name on 'em! Yeah!"
"Wobbuffet!"
"Pi, Pikachu!" panted Pikachu as Jessie and James laughed when suddenly the real Bewear appeared on the race track.
"Huh?" said all but Jordan.
"I knew it." said Jordan, sipping her juice box. Bewear makes contact with the fake counterpart, ripping it apart and revealing Meowth. "I lost my head!" screamed Meowth.
"Wobbuffet!" screamed Wobbuffet. Bewear squeals as it grabs Meowth and Wobbuffet before getting Jessie and James. "I can't believe it!" said the announcer. "It looks like the lead runner was a fake Pokémon. So, since it was against the rules, that competitor is disqualified!"
"Better tell Meowth to go see the baby twerp." muttered James just before Bewear grabs them from the sidelines.
"I hope that she actually weighs that cat." grumbled Jessie.
"Ah! Oh, we're off with a new blast!" shouted Team Rocket. Everyone but Jordan was shocked at the debris that was on the race track as Komala rolls past the two mouse Pokémon with its pancakes.
"Pika! Pika!" shouted Pikachu, once realizing that the race was still going and the photo finish.
"And the winner is Komala! And because Pikachu and Raichu crossed the line together, they tied for second place!" said the announcer. "Who would've guessed that? That's what makes the Pokémon Pancake race so exciting!" Everyone cheered as highlights were played on the screen behind the winners. "Thanks for your support, we went for the Goldeen and won!" said Principal Oak.
"Excellent running!" Rotom said to Pikachu.
"Yeah, you were really amazing out there!" said Ash.
"Pikachu." said Pikachu.
"Can I give my brother's number one Pokémon a hug?" Jordan asked Pikachu, who hops into her arms.
"Lucario." said Meeko.
"Pika, Pik." said Pikachu.
"Pikachu, I want you to know something." said Jordan, gaining the mouse's attention and pressed her forehead against his. "No matter where we are, you're always going to be number one to me and Meeko."
"Pikachu!" said Pikachu, rubbing his cheek against hers before jumping out of her arms and hugging Meeko.
"Lucar, Lucar." said Meeko, nuzzling Pikachu.
"Cha." squealed Pikachu.
"That was a really fun race, wasn't it, Raichu?" Nina asked her Pokémon.
"Rai." said Raichu.
"Come on, Raichu, don't be a sore loser." said Nina. "You'll be number one, next year."
"Rai?" asked Raichu, opening its eye. "La-lai!"
"You don't have to keep being upset with me." Sophocles said to Togedemaru. "I won't mess up again, alright. Let's drop it, please."
"Togede." Togedemaru squeaked angrily.
"Popplio, how about you and I work on a balloon that's a lot tougher to pop, all right?" Lana asked.
"Pop." squeaked Popplio.
"Say, why don't you team up with the Pokémon from the egg and race with it next year?" asked Mallow.
"Huh? I'm not sure." said Lillie.
"Hey, I don't see Kiawe and Turtonator." said Ash.
"Pika?" asked Pikachu.
"I wonder where they could be." said Rotom.
"Me too." said Jordan.
"I'll never….I'll never….I'll never…" grunted Kiawe as he continued to pull Turtonator in the wagon.
"Turtonator." said Turtonator.
"I'll never drop out of the race." Kiawe declared. In the distance, Sharpedo jumps out of the water.
"Sharpedo!" The next day at the Pokémon school, after Meowth paid a visit to Jordan the previous night, Lillie notices something was up with the egg. "Everyone, come quick!" she shouted.
"What's wrong, Lillie?" asked Mallow.
"What is it?" asked Kiawe.
"Snowy!" Lillie replied as the egg finally started to steadily glow.
"Mm? Snowy?" asked Ash.
"That's what I started calling the egg after taking care of it for a while, but now it's always trying to roll around." Lillie explained.
"I know that Meeko definitely didn't do that." said Jordan.
"Pika, Pik." said Pikachu.
"It's glowing." said Ash.
"Oh." said Kiawe.
"Pika." said Pikachu as the glowing got brighter. Out of the incubator, appeared a Vulpix with white fur who squeals softly.
Narrator: The egg has hatched, revealing a beautiful Pokémon with fluffy fur as white as snow!
Jordan: And I'm happy to report that this fluffy fur of cuteness is definitely a girl. I actually can't wait for Rotom to tell us about this Vulpix.
Narrator: Really?
Jordan: Yep. (Something moves in Jordan's backpack) Huh? It's my egg.
Narrator, smiling off screen: It's an amazing sight for our heroes, as the journey continues.
