Narrator: It's a sunny day afternoon and both Ketchum siblings have come to the beach to watch Popplio practice making balloons under the watchful eye of Lana.
Jordan: Think Popplio will let me take a ride in one?
Narrator: I hope so.
"All right, Popplio, big balloon!" said Lana.
"Pop…..!" squeaked Popplio as she makes a big balloon and jumps inside.
"Pika." said Pikachu.
"Lucar." said Meeko.
"Impressive! The balloon's strength, durability and elasticity are evident because they're all in perfect balance with each other." said Rotom.
"Oh yeah!" said Ash.
"Isn't that amazing? Sarah and Harper can ride in it!" said Mallow.
"Bounsweet." said Bounsweet.
"That's how you do it, Popplio!" said Ash. "You've been working really hard. Yeah, your one step closer to your dream, Lana. I want to take a ride in that balloon, too."
"Pika." said Pikachu.
"I'm not sure…" said Lana.
"Don't you think it'll work?" Ash asked.
"When I got into the balloon, it popped right away." she tells him.
"Pop! Pop!" said Popplio.
"So that means, I get to try it….right?" asked Jordan.
"We could try." said Lana.
"No fair that Jordan gets to go first." grumbled Ash when suddenly he gets a hard hit in the head.
"Well, I am a little bit smaller than you are." said Jordan as Popplio's balloon popped and was back on the ground. "But whatever floats your boat to make you feel better, Ash."
"Pikachu." said Pikachu.
"Lucario." said Meeko.
"Yeah, Pokémon are small enough!" said Ash.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Ruff!" barked Rockruff as Ash releases it from its Pokeball and Rowlet flies over, sleeping as it kinda tip over a bit.
"Asleep again." said Mallow.
"Salandit!" hissed Rogue.
"Piki." said Leilani.
"I was going to let Toph out, but I decided not to." said Jordan.
"Good thinking." said Ash.
"But on the plus side, Rogue is listening to me a little bit more." She tells Mallow and Lana. "Isn't that right, Rogue?"
"Salan." said Rogue, nodding.
"Now, take turns. I doubt that all six of you will fit in at one time." said Lana.
"Cario, Cario." said Meeko, then points to the other Pokemon. "Lucario."
"You're giving up your turn?" Mallow asked, assuming what Meeko was saying.
"Lucario." said Meeko, nodding.
"Meeko, you're so sweet." said Lana.
"Lucario." Meeko said, blushing.
"Pikachu." said Pikachu, running over to Popplio.
"Then you're first, Pikachu." said Lana. "Popplio?"
"Pop! Pop. Pop. Pop!" said Popplio, clapping her fins before creating a Pikachu size balloon.
"Pika." said Pikachu as the others gasped behind him.
"Ah!" said Bounsweet, about to sneeze. "Bounsweet." Bounsweet accidentally releases its Sweet Scent, causing Rowlet to crazily wake up and heads straight for it. "Bounsweet!"
"Pika!" said Pikachu, when Rowlet suddenly bumps into Popplio and itself into the balloon. The wind picks up and floats the balloon towards the water, in turn bounces the balloon far from the quartet, causing them to scream.
"THIS IS NOT GOOD!" screamed Jordan.
"Come back!" Ash shouted after the balloon when they got to higher ground.
"What do we do, Lana?" Mallow and Jordan asked.
"Hm. Mm!" Lana then grabs ahold of Ash.
"Huh?"
"Let's go!" said Lana.
"Uh…whoa!" said Ash, as Lana drags him behind her. "Okay, I can run by myself!"
"Ash, hold on! Your backpack!" Mallow called out after him.
"Don't forget about me, Meeko and Pikachu!" said Jordan
"I've never seen Lana like this before." said Rotom.
"When it comes to Popplio, she can really switch gears!" said Mallow.
"Bounsweet."
"Pikachu."
"Lucario."
Inside Popplio's bubble, Rowlet starts freaking out as it moves around the bubble until Popplio catches it with her fins. Soon as Popplio yaps, Rowlet wakes up and starts telling her that they need to find Ash and Lana. "Pop!" said Popplio as Rowlet finishes telling her that Lana would be anger with her than Ash would with Rowlet.
Rowlet starts to break the balloon when it landed on its beak, causing the balloon to pop and Popplio to yelp in fear as they fell from the sky. "Pop! Pop! Pop!" squealed Popplio as Rowlet trills, grabbing ahold of her tail and flapping its wings hard.
Suddenly it was too much for Rowlet to handle and accidentally let go of Popplio, letting the sea lion Pokémon fall to her doom. "Huh? Pop!" Popplio said to Rowlet as it grabs onto her body, telling it to save her. Down below, Team Rocket was setting up a satellite dish outside of Bewear's cave. "Mareanie." said Mareanie.
"Install complete!" said Jessie.
"With this baby, we're going to catch all of Alola's data as well as its Pokémon!" said Meowth, facing away from the big satellite dish.
"With this ring, I do thee steal!" said James, holding a black ring in his hand.
"Our secret base is finally real." said Jessie.
"All right, big ears, on!" shouted James as he holds the ring for the satellite in his hands when suddenly Rowlet and Popplio fell hard from the sky, crashing into the satellite. As the dust cleared, Team Rocket screams at the sight as the satellite falls on top of them. Wrapped around its body as it and Popplio sat up, Rowlet had the ring.
Looking down, Popplio and Rowlet grunted in fear as they see Team Rocket underneath the satellite. "What are you doing?" screamed Jessie as she, James and Meowth freed themselves from the satellite.
"My pretty parabolic antenna!" shouted James as Rowlet and Popplio begged for their forgiveness. Rowlet mutters something when it realizes that it has something around its neck and goes on a freak-out rampage.
"The ring seems to be stuck around its neck." said James, watching Rowlet run around.
"That Rowlet, it's the Twerp's." Meowth said, recognizing that Rowlet belong to Ash.
"And that Popplio is the blue haired Twerpette's." said Jessie, referring to Lana. "Perfect timing! Let's catch them both!"
"And exchange them for Pikachu and Meeko." said James. "Our hostage duo!"
"Wobbuffet." said Wobbuffet.
"All right, Mareanie, Spike Cannon!" shouted James.
"Mareanie-ni-ni-ni." said Mareanie, sending glowing white orbs towards Popplio and Rowlet.
"Pop?" Popplio asked, before sending Bubble Beam back at Mareanie. "Pop!"
"Huh?" grunted Meowth as he looks up, to see both Pokemon run off. "Hey. Come back."
"Mareanie. Mareanie." Mareanie called after them. Back in town, Ash and the others were searching for Popplio and Rowlet. "Pika. Pika." said Pikachu.
"Oh, no."
"Where could they have gone?" asked Mallow.
"If they landed here in town, they couldn't have gone far." said Jordan.
"Lana? Has this ever happened before?" asked Ash.
"Hm." said Lana, thinking. "Mm. Don't worry. Its fine."
"(Chuckles) Well, we know that they went in this direction." said Ash. "So, lets split up and look!"
"Right!" said the girls.
"Pika!" said Pikachu.
"Lucario." said Meeko.
"(Hoots)" trilled Rowlet as it was bounced by Popplio.
"Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop!" said Popplio as she bounced Rowlet, leaving behind a trail of water leaving Meowth and Mareanie to find them, cackling.
"That was a surprise." said Jessie as she, Wobbuffet and James stood up from the bushes.
"Meowth, attention, please." James called out into the forest.
"Meowth's in hot pursuit!" Jessie tells him.
"Wobbuffet." said Wobbuffet.
"We should be too." said James, giving Jessie a knowing look.
"Hm. Hm!" she said in determination as Bewear stood up behind them, grabbing the three with its arms.
"Let us breathe, please!" shouted Jessie and James.
"Pop! Pop!" yelped Popplio as she continues to bounce Rowlet away from Team Rocket, but before long, Popplio trips on a rock and loses her balance, causing her to drop Rowlet.
Rowlet is thrown through the air and knocked into a rock, causing it to roll back and into Popplio who then tumbles backwards down a hill. Once they came to a stop, Meowth and Mareanie appeared. "Show's over, dopes!" said Meowth, laughing. "Very statuesque, Rowlet. Yeah, yeah, yeah! Mareanie, how about giving Popplio a dose of your Toxic Spikes?"
"Nie!" screamed Mareanie as it heads for Popplio when out of nowhere, an Ember attack was fired at Mareanie, causing it to be hurled into a tree branch.
"Hey, what gives?" asked Meowth as Popplio and Rowlet looked behind them to see Litten on the rock.
"Pop?" asked Popplio as Litten joins them.
"Litt!" Litten tells her.
"Pop." she replied.
"Now what's your deal?" Meowth asked Litten as it hissed and snarled at him, before releasing his Fury Swipes. "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!"
"Litten!" shouted Litten as it gives Meowth a Scratch.
"You're not so stro…" Meowth started to say when he feels Litten's Scratch and faints.
"Pop?" Popplio asked as Meowth falls to the ground. "Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop?"
Litten walks over to a hooting Rowlet, who was on its head. Litten turns the quail Pokémon and tries to get the ring off of its body. Litten meows at this when it couldn't get it off.
"Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop!" Popplio said to Litten, explaining that she tried her best to get the ring off of Rowlet. "Popplio! Pop!"
Popplio came up with an idea. "Pop!" said Popplio, creating a balloon to place Rowlet in to make the trip of getting help easier.
"Meow!" said Litten as the balloon went around Rowlet, who was hoots angrily at Popplio. "Meow!"
"Pop! Pop!" said Popplio, balancing a bubbled Rowlet on her head. "Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop…" Once in town, Popplio started bouncing Rowlet.
"Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop…" said Popplio as Rowlet hooted inside the balloon.
"Meows!" said Litten, leading Popplio and Rowlet to Stoutland.
"Pop?" asked Popplio as she and Rowlet see Stoutland on the couch. "Pop!"
Narrator: Oh yes. If I recall, this elderly Pokémon is Stoutland, who's been seen with Litten in the past.
Jordan: And quite heavy for a certain brother to lift alone all by himself.
"Stoutland." said Stoutland.
Narrator: They disappeared after meeting Ash and Jordan and it looks like they now live here.
"Stout. Stoutland." said Stoutland as Litten pushes Rowlet towards it, explaining what Popplio told it. "Stoutland."
"Meow!" said Litten, popping the bubble around Rowlet, who hoots in surprise.
"Stoutland. Stoutland." Stoutland said, walking around Rowlet and sniffs the small Pokémon.
"Pop? Pop?" Popplio asked Litten, then squeals softly at her friend as Stoutland licks Rowlet.
"Stoutland." said Stoutland.
"Meow." replied Litten.
"Stout. Stoutland. Stout. Stout. Stoutland." Stoutland explained to Litten that Rowlet belonged to Ash and Jordan, which cause Rowlet to hoot.
"Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop!" said Popplio as Rowlet trills happily against Stoutland, who then gives Rowlet another lick in return. Popplio laughs at this before turning around to see Litten give itself a bath.
"Pop?" asked Popplio.
"Stoutland. Stout." said Stoutland.
"Litten. Meow." Litten said, thinking that Rowlet and Popplio should show up at Kukui's house.
"Popplio." said Popplio, shaking her head as Litten suggested that Rowlet needs to have its wings free. "Pop! Pop! Po-Po-Pop. Po-Pop. Pop. Pop! Pop! Po-Po-Pop. Popplio. Popplio!"
Just then, Popplio starts to freak out, wishing that Lana was there. Rowlet just fell asleep, causing Popplio be angry. "Pop!" she said, glaring at Rowlet and slaps it. Rowlet grunts and hoots angrily at Popplio for slapping it. "Stoutland." Stoutland said to the both of them.
"Meow." said Litten.
"Stout. Stout. Stout." Stoutland said to Litten. "Stoutland. Stout. Stout. Stout. Stout."
"Meow!" said Litten, not wanting to take Rowlet and Popplio to Ash and Jordan.
"Pop! Pop!" said Popplio, with stars in her eyes.
"Meow." said Litten, finally giving in as Popplio claps her fins. In the market, Ash and Jordan finished their search as they met up with Lana and Mallow.
"Anything?" asked Ash.
"Nothing." said Mallow. "And I asked a whole bunch of people."
"Nobody's seen them." added Lana.
"Seriously?" asked Jordan. "They had to have seen Popplio and Rowlet. They're not really that hard to miss."
"Pika." said a worried Pikachu.
"Cario, Cario." said Meeko, reassuring him when suddenly Rockruff smells something.
"Pi? Cario?" Ash and Jordan takes a look at Rockruff. "What's up?" they both asked.
"Wow, would you look at that!" Rotom exclaimed.
"Huh?" asked Ash when Meeko starts to feel the others auras.
"Lucar." said Meeko, getting frustrated.
"Rockruff has a powerful sense of smell that can distinguish scents. So it can trace Rowlet and Popplio by using their scents." said Rotom. "Looks like Meeko is trying to sense something."
"That's great, Rotom." said Ash.
"It's got to work." said Mallow.
"So, let's get Rockruff familiar with Rowlet and Popplio's scents right away." suggested Rotom.
"Scents, huh?" asked Ash.
"What would have Rowlet's scent?" Ash asked himself.
"Ruff. Rockruff!" barked Rockruff as it reaches for Ash's backpack.
"Huh?" said Ash, looking at his backpack, then chuckles. "That's it! Rockruff, give this a sniff. You've got to learn Rowlet's scent." Rockruff barks as it sniffs Ash's backpack.
"Of course! Rowlet always sleeps in there." said Mallow.
"Here." said Lana, holding out her hands towards Rockruff. "It's Popplio's scent. I hold it all the time."
"Now remember what you learned, Rockruff!" said Mallow as Rockruff starts sniffing the ground.
"We're counting on you." said Ash.
"Ruff!" said Rockruff, standing aways from the group.
"Wow, that was quick!" said Mallow as Skylar opens her eyes.
"When Rockruff wags its tail, it's trying to let you know it found something." said Rotom.
"So we should go that way, right?" asked Ash.
"Meeko, where you able to sense their auras?" asked Jordan.
"Lucario!" said Meeko, looking in the direction of where Popplio and Rowlet might be.
"Towards the forest!" said Mallow.
"Bounsweet." said Bounsweet.
"Thanks so much, Rockruff and Meeko!" said Lana.
"Ruff. Ruff." said Rockruff.
"Lucario!" said Meeko.
"Let's go!" shouted Ash and Jordan as both puppy and Aura Pokémon lead the way. Back in the forest and inside the cave was a sleeping Bewear, softly snoring away to notice that Jessie, James and Wobbuffet were sneaking off. "Finally. It's fast asleep." said Jessie as they were outside of the cave.
"A chance to rendezvous with Meowth." said James.
"Wobbuffet." said Wobbuffet. Placing Rowlet back in the balloon, Litten takes Popplio to Ash and Jordan. Popplio tosses Rowlet onto the water, letting her friend bounce on the water's surface for a moment until Rowlet trills angrily as it speeds up. Popplio starts chuckling as Rowlet catches up. On the hill side, Rockruff comes to a stop and whines to Ash. "Huh? Did you lose the scent?" he asked.
"Cario." said Meeko, trying to see if Popplio's was there but gets frustrated. "Lucario!"
"It's okay, Meeko." said Jordan, grabbing Meeko's paws in reassurance.
"Poor Rockruff and Meeko." said Mallow.
"Rockruff? Meeko? Let's keep on trying anyway." said Ash. "Sound good?"
"Pika. Pika." said Pikachu.
"Ruff." replied Rockruff.
Rowlet trills as Popplio kept pushing the balloon. People stared as Popplio pushed the balloon over the stairs while Ash and the others went into the forest. All over the place, both Pokémon and trainers missed each other. "It's getting late." said Lana as the sun was setting.
"Let's move!" said Ash as they take off, not realizing that a couple streets down was Popplio and Rowlet.
"Pop! Pop!" said Popplio, bouncing the Rowlet balloon. "Pop! Pop!"
"Meow?" asked Litten, turning around to see how tired Popplio is. "Meow!" Just then, a net appears from above and lands on them. Not far, Rockruff and Meeko hears their screams.
"Looks like they heard something." said Jordan.
"Pika." said Pikachu.
"Uh! Its tail is wagging." said Ash, looking at Rockruff's tail. "Does that mean…"
"You found them?" asked Lana.
"Cario." said Meeko, nodding as Rockruff turns around and runs towards the screams.
"It's that way." said Mallow, taking off after Rockruff. The net was being raised with Rowlet, Popplio and Litten trapped inside as Jessie and James laughs.
"The beauty so radiant, the flowers and moon hide in shame. A single flower of evil in this fleeting world."
"The nobly heroic man of our times! The master of darkness fighting back against a tragic world!"
"It's all for one and one for all! A glittering dark star that always shines bright! Dig it, while Meowth takes flight!"
"Short, sweet and light! We know how to do it right!" said Team Rocket.
"You guys are geniuses! You beat them at their Twerpy game." said Meowth.
"But of course! They don't call Team Rocket a team for a joke." said James.
"Mareanie." said Mareanie as they faced the three Pokémon.
"Thanks to you brats, our plans to finish our secret base are kaput!" said Jessie.
"Give us back our all-important eavesdropping ring!" demanded James.
"Huh?" said Team Rocket as they inched closer to see that not only did they catch Rowlet and Popplio, but Litten as well.
"Translate." Jessie said to Meowth.
"It's an extra Pokémon." said James as he flips through his handbook. "Let's see. It's a Litten, the fire cat Pokémon."
"I was just about to catch those two and you messed it up!" Meowth yelled at Litten.
"Oh? A party crasher, eh?" asked James.
"Litten, Litten." Litten said to Meowth.
"Huh?"
"Translate." Jessie said to Meowth again.
"Litten said let 'em go." said Meowth.
"Huh?"
"What an attitude. Posing as a hero." said James.
"You do know your friend's asleep, don't you?" Jessie asked Litten and Popplio, who then turns to see that she was right.
"Some stress." said James, laughing.
"Pop. Pop. Pop. Pop." said Popplio, smacking Rowlet awake.
"You really know how to rock and roll." said Meowth. "Hey, want to join Team Rocket?"
Litten snarls in response, having no intentions of joining Team Rocket. "Good idea!" said James.
"We can use you." said Jessie. Both cackled as they head towards the net.
"Litten!" shouted Litten, sending Ember towards Team Rocket.
"Hot- Hot- Hot- Hot- Hot!" shouted Team Rocket, trying to dissipate the flames, then gasped.
"I remember getting fried by that move." said Meowth. "That's the Litten who grabbed our grub."
"It is?" asked Jessie.
"Litten." said Litten, glaring at Meowth, who then gasped as he gets told off.
"Pop!" said Popplio.
"Oh. Yeah?" asked Meowth. "Sounds like you got some serious backstory."
"Litten."
"Huh?" Litten continues its story, causing Mareanie to hold back its tears. "Wobbu! Wobbu! Wobbu!" Wobbuffet said sadly.
"Huh?!" said Jessie and James, confused at what was happening.
"I feel your pain." said Meowth, sobbing. "Who knew a Pokémon could go through stuff like that stuff?"
"What stuff?" asked Jessie. "Meowth, translation!"
"Fill us in, old chum." added James.
"That Pokémon is a true leader." Meowth explained. "Litten's dedicated its life and world for the sake of the weak. We're talking a Ph.D. from the school of hard knocks!"
"I'm actually touched." said Jessie.
"So selfless." said James.
"Litten's such a great Pokémon in such a cruel world!" Meowth added with tears in his eyes. "Hey, now, dig! Put your skills to good use! Hook up with our Team Rocket team and live the dream! We'll take that old school of hard knocks and turn it into the college of lucky breaks!"
"I second that!" said James.
"Say the word and we'll forget about the food snatching." said Jessie. Rowlet trills as Popplio squeals in a panic until she had an idea. "Pop!" squealed Popplio, about to karate chop the ring off of Rowlet when Litten meows at Team Rocket. It then looks over its shoulder at Popplio and Rowlet, seeing them whimper as it meows.
"Litten just gave the membership green light!" said Meowth, unknowingly that he and his fellow members were being played by Litten.
"Really?" asked Jessie and James.
"Litten." said Litten, putting on a fake smile.
"Ah!"
"Straight from a big-hearted Pokémon." said Meowth.
"Yay! It reminds me of the old saying," said Jessie. "the bigger they are, the bigger they are!"
"With a big dose of hard work, you'll rocket to success!" said James.
"Wobbuffet!" shouted Wobbuffet and Meowth starts to release Litten.
"I'm breaking you out of there and as for you twerp Pokémon, stay put, if you know what's good for you." said Meowth. Just at the right moment, Litten meows as it cuts the net with Scratch, freeing itself and the others. "Oh no!" screamed Team Rocket.
"Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop!" said Popplio as she created several balloons, large enough for Team Rocket. With the ring still on its body, Rowlet uses Peck and knocks Team Rocket into the sky.
"Pop!" said Popplio, sending out Bubble Beam.
"Litten!" said Litten, sending out its Ember. Once both attacks made contact, all five balloons exploded. "Listen, bub!" shouted Meowth as they were blasting off. "You've got a special place in my heart! Its Litten joins Team Rocket or bust!"
"All right, is everybody ready?" Jessie asked.
"An Alolan first, to boot!" said James.
"And here we go!" said Meowth.
"We're blasting off again!" shouted Team Rocket.
"Wobbuffet!" shouted Wobbuffet.
"Huh? What?" asked Ash as he and the girls made it to the rooftop.
"If I had to guess, big brother," Jordan said to him. "I would bet that was Team Rocket and we just missed their first Alolan blast off."
"Really?" asked Mallow and Lana, curious to know.
"Yep and this time, we didn't have to rely on Pikachu to do it." added Jordan.
"Pika?" asked Pikachu.
"Lucario." said Meeko.
"It's true. This time, you get a day off." said Jordan. Just then, Rockruff starts barking, gaining their attention. "You're all safe." said Ash as Popplio heads for Lana and Rowlet bounces its way to him.
"Pika. Cario." said Pikachu and Meeko.
"Popplio!" exclaimed Lana. "Missed you so much!"
"I'm so relieved." said Mallow as Rowlet trills excitedly, trying to get the ring off its body.
"Rowlet!" said Ash, catching Rowlet in his arms. "Hey, what's that ring around your neck? I'll get that thing off you. Uh!"
Ash starts pulling the ring off of Rowlet, finally letting it breathe. "There!" said Ash as Rowlet starts flapping its wings, causing Ash to laugh. "You look a whole lot better. Hey, what's that? I think I know that sound." They looked over to see Litten staring back at them.
"It's Litten." he said.
"Pop!" said Popplio.
"Ash! Jordan! That's the same Litten who was with Stoutland!" exclaimed Rotom.
"Mm-hm." Ash said, nodding.
"Without a doubt." said Jordan as she and her brother smiled. Rowlet and Popplio were sad to see Litten go that Rowlet begged with it.
"Pop. Pop. Popplio." said Popplio, grateful that Litten helped them. Litten nodded just as Ash and Jordan walked up to it. "I guess you helped them." said Ash. "That's really nice of you, Litten."
"Thank you, Litten." said Jordan.
"How's Stoutland doing?" they both asked, causing a surprised look on Litten's face and takes off.
"Huh?"
"Pik!"
"Lucar!"
"Litten!" Ash and Jordan called out as Litten jumps over to another rooftop.
"Ash, Jordan, Litten left again. Are you both sad?" asked Lana.
"Wow, Litten sure is a mystery." said Mallow.
"I'm not sad, Lana." said Jordan.
"We'll meet again." said Ash.
"Pikachu. Lucario." said their Pokémon as Popplio whines a little.
Narrator: And so, the little trio of Rowlet, Litten and Popplio has successfully wrapped up a big adventure! Now, will Ash, Jordan and Litten ever meet again?
Jordan: I hope so!
Narrator: You heard Jordan. Only the stars in Alolan sky know the answer, as the journey continues!
