As Brittany walked down the empty halls, she couldn't help but be what was probably way too hesitant about this whole thing. She can't screw up again. She just can't.
"I think this'll be a nice change" Her mom, Whitney said, walking a little faster to keep up with her daughter.
"Hopefully" She mumbled in reply.
They finally got to the room they were looking for and Whitney knocked on the single door labeled 'principal's office'
"Ah! you must be Brittany Pierce" A man says as he swings the door open. The short man had a welcoming smile which eased Brittany's nerves... only a little.
"In the flesh!" She chirped in reply.
"I'm Mr Figgins, the Principal of William McKinley High school" He explained. Brittany slowly nodded and winced a little to herself because the friendly smile that eased her nerves only seconds ago had now become creepy as she couldn't quite put her finger on why.
After Figgins ushered the two women in, they then sat down on the only two seats in front of his desk.
"We are very excited to have you be a part of the WMHS family this year" He smiled. "Although there are a few things I would like to discuss," Brittany internally groaned upon hearing this because he knew exactly what he wanted to talk about. "It has come to my attention that you were expelled at your last school for attacking another student-"
"That wasn't even my fault! He was a-" Brittany immediately cut herself off because no way is she bringing her old life here. "... he was a... very bad person" She sighed.
"Yes well, if you are going to be a student at this school I need to make sure that this kind of behavior won't be happening" Figgins raised his eyebrow at the blonde. In that moment she felt completely see through.
"It won't be happening again. Isn't that right Britt?" Her mom replied. Brittany glanced over to her to see her mom looking right at her. Brittany looked over to Figgins and nodded.
"Right."
Brittany completely zoned out for the rest of the meeting.

The sound of Taylor swift's The Man played loudly through her phone and she reached her arm out to turn off her alarm.
"Brittany honey, time to get up! You don't want to be late for the first day of school!" She heard her mom call from downstairs. She let out a deep breath of annoyance, mentally preparing herself for the day ahead.
"No... no we do not" She mumbled to her empty room.
Twenty minutes later she found herself in her closet (not like that, she came out last year) desperately searching for an outfit that wasn't too much for school, but also wasn't too casual since she was fully aware she would be the new kid in a small town. And if her movie knowledge served her correctly, everyone would know that she was new to the school within an hour or so.
After finally picking an outfit that fit her criteria, she made her way downstairs and saw that her mom had already prepared her breakfast, and left it on the table for her.
"There you are. I thought you were never going to get out of bed" Whitney laughed, walking into the kitchen.
"I mean I was going to stay asleep for another hour like I normally do, but I figured as your daughter it's my job to keep you on your toes" The younger blonde replied sarcastically. Her mother laughed in reply and simply reminded her that she had about 15 minutes before she had to be out the door.
"Oh and one more thing before you head off" her mom turned around and said before she walked out of the kitchen.
"What's up?"
"Try not to get kicked out this time"

William McKinley High School. Her new start. The place she plans to spend the rest of her schooling life.
She walked through the now full hallways, a stark contrast to how they were last week when she had her interview. Everyone in every direction was talking to their friends, and then there was Brittany, trying to figure out where the office was to get her timetable. Here she stands, looking an awful lot like a lost puppy.
"Hey! Blondie!" She heard from behind where she was standing. She quickly spun around on the heels of her feet and saw a short blonde, in what she could only guess was a cheerleading outfit, walking towards her.
"Hi" Brittany greeted. The other blonde had a permanent scowl and Brittany wasn't sure how she felt about it.
"I'm Quinn" Quinn stuck her hand out in greeting and Brittany hesitantly reached out and shook it.
"Brittany." She replied. Quinn's face broke out in a small smirk as she pulled her hand away.
"So," She began, "You're the new girl." Quinn eyed Brittany up and down, her eyebrows slightly creased and Brittany couldn't feel more out of place than she did at this moment.
"Yeah... that's me," She sighed.
"Right well, where are you from anyway?" Quinn asked. Brittany looked around, mainly for an excuse to get the hell out of this conversation since Quinn sort of scared her. Which is saying something since not many... things actually scare her.
"Uh, I'm from California," She replied. Quinn narrowed her eyes at her before suddenly letting out a quiet chuckle.
Yup, definitely terrifying, Brittany thought
"A Cali girl? You didn't strike me as the type but looks can be very misleading." Brittany had no idea what she meant by that but had officially come to the conclusion that she was uncomfortable. "Anyway, I gotta run but I'll see you around. Or maybe I won't. Bye!"
Brittany blinked a few times wondering what the actual hell just happened before getting back to her task of finding out where this goddamn office is.
The bell rang and everyone was almost immediately running around trying to get to their classes. In the middle of all of this someone bumped into Brittany's back, causing her to tumble over.
"Crap! I am so sorry!" She looked up and saw a boy with mid length blonde hair and what was probably the biggest pair of lips she has ever seen. He was a little cute, in a golden retriever puppy kind of way.
"It's fine, don't worry." She quickly managed to get out. He gave her a bright smile to which she returned as she found it much more comforting than Quinn girl. "Hey, do you think you should show me where the office is? I'm new and still need my time table and locker and... well all that sort of stuff"
"Oh yeah for sure! I didn't really want to go to Math anyway. I find it way too hard." The boy explained as they began walking. Brittany couldn't really relate since she's always been a bit of a math wiz.
"What part do you find hard?" She asked. She figured he seemed nice enough, and she definitely needs friends around here. So why not get some brownie points while she's at it?
"Well... the math part" He replied with a shrug. Brittany readjusted her bag strap currently sitting on her right shoulder as she let out a quiet oh. "But I'm getting better at it!" He quickly stammered. Brittany genuinely laughed for the first time all day. "I'm Sam by the way"
"I'm Brittany," She replied. If I have to introduce myself to one more blonde today... She thought.
"Nice to meet you" He smiled. "Well, we're here" Sam said as he stopped. "Hey so... if you need anyone to sit with at lunch or whatever then come find me."
"Yeah I will." She smiled. "Well thanks. I really appreciate it actually" They both said their goodbyes and Brittany walked into the offices, completely forgetting that first period started about 10 minutes ago.

It was now lunch and for the most part, Brittany's day had been going very well. She hadn't had any mishaps and no signs of anything... out of the ordinary. So yeah, she thinks she could get used to Lima, Ohio.
Walking into the Cafeteria, she scanned the large room for any sign of Sam. After a few seconds she managed to find him, albeit it wasn't that hard considering he was standing up and waving like a maniac.
"Hey Sam," She said as she walked up to him. His gaze drifted over to the girl sitting next to him. "Hey..."
"Tina." the girl replied. "Nice to meet you. Sam's been non-stop talking about this so-called new girl all morning." Brittany looked over to Sam who was now blushing slightly as he hung his head a little lower.
"Oh cool" Brittany decided to brush it off since she didn't really want to make Sam uncomfortable by teasing him about it. On her first day of knowing him too. She sat down and took her lunch out of her bag. No way was she having cafeteria food.
"So tell us about yourself," Tina said.
"Yeah c'mon, give us all the details like... what do you look for in a man?" Sam quickly said. Tina began laughing as Brittany looked over towards him, her eyebrows slightly raised. "forget I said that" he stammered.
"Yeah that's probably a good idea" She mumbled to no one in particular.
"New girl!" Quinn walked up to them with her hands on her hips and a scowl plastered on her face.
"You do realize I told you my name, right?" Brittany said. She saw the frown on Quinn's face deepen and instantly regretted saying that.
"Whatever. You want a tip on how to survive in this place? Don't sit with the wannabe goth and discount Justin Bieber." The way Quinn was speaking about them like they weren't there really didn't sit right with Brittany. Gosh she wished other people knew about her... They wouldn't even dare piss her off if it was the last thing they do. And she's aware how petty that sounds but she can't really bring herself to care.
But instead, she had to be the bigger person... whatever that means.
"I'll sit with who I want to" Quinn rolled her eyes and let out a scoff at Brittany's words. "You know I never asked you to talk to me. I'd much rather you just leave me the fuck alone"
"Gosh whatever, be a loser" She replied. She raised a finger at Brittany accusingly, "but don't come crying to me when no one likes you." To be completely honest Brittany didn't expect Quinn to be this rude. All she thought was that she probably wasn't the nicest person.
And with that she walked away. finally.
"That was amazing," Tina said. Brittany looked over to her slightly shocked. She wasn't trying to do anything, besides get Quinn the hell away from her.
"Yeah that was really cool, Britt. Thanks" Sam smiled. Brittany simply grinned at the both of them before they carried on with their lunch.
She had friends by the looks of things, so she'll take her first day as a win.

Her first day has turned out to be anything but a win.
She was just trying to get through chemistry without wanting to bash her head on the table in frustration when this random guy asked if he could pull her out of class for a few minutes.
"That's fine with me. Ms. Peirce, please follow Mr. Schuester." Brittany slid out of her seat and followed the dude out of the classroom.
"Brittany Pierce" He smiled. Brittany was a little creeped out since he was looking at her like he already knew her. Weird. He seemed to snap out of it and shook his head as he let out a nervous laugh. "My name is William Schuester, I'm the Spanish teacher here at McKinley high"
"Nice to meet you" She shook his hand in greeting, "Sorry, but I don't take Spanish I think you've got the wrong person." If she was being completely honest she just wanted to get back into class and at least make an attempt to focus.
"Oh I'm not here to discuss Spanish, actually." He replied.
"Oh?" She questioned, her eyebrows creasing slightly in confusion. Mr. Schuester looked at her for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and exhaling.
"I know who you are, Brittany."
Brittany felt numb. No way was this shit happening. She can't do it. She won't do it. Mr. Schuester seemed to take her silence as a sign to continue.
"I'm your new Watcher"
Oh hell no! Another one of these guys? Brittany seriously couldn't believe it, why are they everywhere?!
"Leave. Me. Alone" Brittany said through gritted teeth.
"I'm not following. I-it's my job to train you and prepare you for the world." he replied, seemingly confused at her reluctance.
"You motherfuckers follow me everywhere I just want to be left alone. I'm 16 for crying out loud!" She cried. She just wanted a break. She was never an overly responsible person, her freakin' fish only lasted 3 weeks before she forgot to feed it!
"It's not a choice, Brittany." He remained calm while Brittany on the other hand was completely freaking out. "You're the slayer. The one who-"
"is destined to defeat the vampires, demons and forces of darkness blah blah blah. I've heard it all a million times before!" At this point she was shouting. she couldn't help it. She thought this would be a new start for her. But it's not. It's the same old routine. "Well guess what, this isn't some sort of crazy action movie, this is my life!"
"Exactly. It's your life. You were chosen for this. There's one Slayer in every generation and that's you"
"Well I guess you're just going to have to accept the fact this generation's Slayer is retired." She said, seething resentment lacing her words. "Now let me get back to class." With that Brittany walked off and left Mr. Schuester standing there, shocked as ever.
