Chapter 1: The boy who crossed time? And the half-demon girl

Authors Notes: Kazuki is the name of male Kagome and Kazuo is the one for male Kikyo. If other characters are genderbent they may also get a different name but for now that's it.

Feudal Japan, 1447

"It's Inuyasha!" Yelled a villager as he ran scared.

A girl went flying up into the air leaving a smoldering building behind her and tearing the net the villagers tried to trap her. She was wearing red pants and a red Kimono; she also had white hair and dog-ears. As she looked down at the scurrying people a disgusted look grew on her face she entered a shrine by crashing through the roof and there it was the object she wanted

"The Shikon Jewel…" Inuyasha said as she looked where it was being held and took it as the villagers entered the shrine just as she jumped out of the shrine.

"This is what you deserve, I'm taking the Shikon Jewel!," She yelled as she clasped the jewel in her hand. 'With this... I can become a true demon...'

"Inuyasha!," a loud voice yelled from the distance as an arrow flew through the air and struck Inuyasha, causing the half demon to drop the jewel, and be pinned to a tree.

"Ka-Kazuo..." Inuyasha said as she looked at the one who shot the arrow. 'How could you' she thought as the world went dark around her.

Kazuo dropped his bow and picked up the jewel, "This jewel, because of it..." he said as he dropped to the ground, with a large gaping wound, staining his clothes.

"Sir Kazuo," one villager said as he walked towards the injured priest.

"What a terrible wound," another said.

"Please brother," a little girl said as she rushed to the kannushis side, "We have to take care of you"

"Its already too late for me," the priest said to the little girl "I will not live." He held out his hand revealing the jewel, "I want you to burn this with my body. It must never... fall into the... wrong... hands." He said as he fell dead.

As his body was burning his spirit had one final thought, 'I shall take this jewel with me to the world beyond.' And the day passed with the death of a preist and the sealing of a half demon and this event became a story, then a legend, and then was forgotten to the point where the jewel was the only thing remembered…

Present Day Japan, 1997

"The "Shikon" jewel?" a young boy questioned his grandfather.

"Yes," the grandfather answered while holding a jewel at the end of a key chain, "So long as one has this one's family will know safety and prosperity"

"And people actually pay money for these? How ridiculous" he said unimpressed while holding one himself.

"Hear its legend Kazuki, in the beginning the "Shikon No Tama", or the "Jewel of Four Souls"..." He said as he was cut short.

"Save your breath gramps," Kazuki said as he used the false jewel to play with his pet cat. "Hey Gramps! Remember what day tomorrow is?" he asked as he clenched the jewel in his hand.

"How could I forget my grandson's birthday?" his grandfather said with a sigh as he handed him a present.

"Wow, you actually remembered" Kazuki said, surprised.

It's a day early but, happy birthday Kazuki," he said as he opened his gift, "It's the mummified hand of a "Kappa" water sprite the legends hold that whoever possesses it..." he explained while the teenager looked at his present unimpressed.

"Here Buyo,." he said as he gives his present of the water imp's hand to the cat, who bit into it and walked away.

"WAIT THATS AN ANTIQUE!" his grandfather yelled as he chased after the cat.

'My "house" is also a very old shrine, I live with my grandpa, my mom, and my little brother, there's a sacred tree that's 500 years old. And a well that probably has its own legend, in fact everything at my house has a legend but... no matter how many times gramps tells them to me I always forget. I never even thought about remembering them. Because, who would bother to remember some old legends?That is until the day I turned 15, today.

"I'm heading for school" Kazuki said as he went out the door wearing a typical male student uniform (known as a Gakuran) when he stopped as he saw his brother.

"Hey Sota!" Kazuki called to his little brother.

"Bro..." His brother responded in a sad voice as he looked inside the shrine where the Bone Eaters Well resided

"You know you're not supposed to play in there, dont you?" Kazuki asked.

"But Buyo, he's, he's in there" said Sota while looking back at the shrine. Sota replied

"He's in the well house?" Kazuki asked, to which Sota nodded

Kazuki sighed "So? Can't you get him?"

"But...doesn't this place give you the creeps?" Sota asked uneasily as he looked down the stairs of thr well house.

"You're the one looking for him". Right after he said that a loud scratching noise came from the well.

"TH-THERE'S SOMETHING IN THERE!" Sota screamed

"Like, oh, say... our cat?" Kazuki said to his brother who was becoming extremely scared. 'Geez, what a coward'

"Fine, I'll do it," Kazuki said with a sigh, as he walked down the stairs to find the cat. He listened for the sound and heard where it was coming from, "Huh? It's coming from inside the well. . ." Just then the cat rubbed against his leg causing him to yell in surprise.

"Don't yell like that!" Sota said nervously, "You scared me"

"Stupid cat, scaring me like that ..." Kazuki said angrily to himself as he picked up the cat.

"B-Bro...?" Sota asked nervously as a six armed being came from the well and dragged Kazuki down.

'What the? What is that!' Kazuki thought to as he saw what the creature that pulled him into the well looked like. The torso was like a woman's but with six arms, however there were no legs whatsoever. It had a spine like torso that began at the bottom of her torso where it looked like her skin had been torn off.

"What joy... what strength, I feel…alive again" the creature said as it dragged The teen down into the void where the inside of the small well should have been." Let go!" Kazuki shouted and hit the creature with a strange light and it fell into the abyss as it said, "Wretched boy…I... Will... Not... Lose it… The Sacred Jewel"

"The…Sacred Jewel?" Kazuki asked himself. as he hit the bottom of the well. "I'm in the well?" was the next question he had. 'Was that thing just a dream?' he asked himself, until he saw one of the creature's arms, 'Guess not.'

He looked up at the top of the well and thought about the last thing the creature had said. "Jewel of four souls...didnt gramps say something about that?" he asked himself. "Well, I've got to get out of here." he said to herself, "Sota! Are you there? Go get gramps now" he yelled but with no response. "He probably took off," he said to himself, "Wait...is that the sky?" he said as he looked up and saw that there was no roof. With that he grabbed on to one of the vines that were in the well and climbed up inside the well to get to the top.

"Huh?" Kazuki said as he looked around. The shrine was gone, and the surrounding area had too much nature to be anywhere near his home.

'Where is this?'

"Hey gramps, Sota you there!" he yelled as he looked around. 'What's going on,' he thought, 'I fell into the well inside the shrine, but now, there was no trace of a shrine ever existing.' he gasped as he saw something familiar as he was walking, "The sacred tree." he said with a sigh of relief. 'Even when I was younger I could always find my way home from there,' he thought as he made it to the tree he saw a strange sight. A young girl was pinned to a tree by an arrow and tied with overgrown vines. The strange thing was that the young girl had flowing white hair, dog ears and was wearing some type of red clothes.

"Huh? Is that a…girl?" He said as he walked up to the girl "Dog ears...?" He noticed them and got the strangest feeling to touch them to see if they were real not noticing that the girl was asleep, hence why she didn't react at all.

'This isn't the time for this…' he thought to himself as he was rubbing the ears of the strange young girl. His thoughts interrupted when a barrage of arrows came flying towards him, luckily none of them hit him then as villagers all started shouting various things, mostly along the lines of "You there, what are you doing trespassing?"

Kazuki didn't have time to react as the crowd quickly surrounded him, pulled him off and binded his hands they dragged him off to the village.

"Hey! You didn't have to tie me up you know..." Kazuki yelled at the villagers.

"Could he be a spy?," said one villager.

"Could it be war again?" another villager asked.

"A demon in disguise, perhaps…?." a female villager said.

'Wait why are all these houses so old looking?,' Kazuki thought as he looked at the structures of the village. 'Wait, I think if seen this before, yeah. In history class this is Sengoku period, the feudal warring states era.' Finally realizing that he was no longer in the modern world he was accustomed to. 'But how the heck did I end up here?'

"Make way! Make Way! Lady Kaede, the priestess, has come!" a villager announced as an old woman with an eye patch, and wearing priestess clothing, holding a bundle of arrows and a bow, walked towards Kazuki. "Who are ye and what were ye doing in the forest of Inuyasha?" the old woman known as Kaede said as she walked closer.

'Jeez. Another weirdo has arrived,' Kazuki thought looking at the woman.

"Eh? Let me see your face," the priestess said as she looked at the boy's face, "You resemble my elder brother Kazuo."

"Huh?"

The old priestess Kaede had decided to take Kazuki back to her house and was explaining to him who was the person he remined her of."Kazuo was the village priest, and it's protector," Kaede explained as she thought back to her brother, "His last words to me were 'Take this... and burn it with my body.' That was over fifty years ago, he died when I was but a child." Kaede said as she placed a bowl of food in front of Kazuki and waited a while, "What's wrong, not hungry?" Kaede asked wondering why he wasn't eating.

"Do you think you could untie me, please" he asked.

"Bear us no ill will child,for now I see ye mean us no harm, in these times of war one isn't welcome into this village without deep distrust". The priestess said as she untied the boy.

"I don't suppose I'm in Tokyo anymore, am I?" Kazuki asked uneasily.

"I've never heard the name," Kaede said, "Is that the land of your birth"

"Yeah, I guess so... I was just thinking that I should get going soon." Kazuki said, 'Going... but how?' he thought as a loud noise came from outside.

"What could be..." Kaede said as she and Kazuki looked out the door, and saw a horse with it's flesh ripped off it's ribs landing in front of the house.

"RUN... A DEMON!" the villagers yelled as the demon that attacked Kazuki in the well destroyed the village.

"Give me the Sacred Jewel," the creature said as it headed towards Kazuki.

"The Jewel!" Kaede exclaimed as she looked at Kazuki, "You have the Jewel"

"Jewel? What are you talking about? " the boy said with an incredulous look.

"Spears nor arrows can hurt it," shouted one of the villagers as they ran away.

"If we can lead it to the dry old well, we can trap it," Kaede said to the villagers.

"Dry old well?"

"In Inuyasha's forest," Kaede responded.

'The well I came out of,' Kazuki thought, "Quickly, which way is the well?"

"To the East toward..." but she was cut off.

"Toward that light, okay." The boy said as he ran off.

"YOU WILL NOT SLIP ME," the centipede creature yelled as it followed Kazukj.

"Did that child just say he could see Inuyasha's energy?," Kaede said with wonder and amazement as Kazuki ran towards the forest.

Meanwhile, in another part of the forest...

"That smell, that's the scent of the man who killed me, he is coming closer," the girl who was pinned to the tree by an arrow said as she awoke from her 50 year slumber.

"Damn it! Why did it have to be me!," Kazuki shouted as he neared the tree as he ran through the forest.

"Give me the Jewel!" the creature yelled.

"I don't have it!" Kazuki said as continued running not seeing a tree root in his way tripping over it. And landing in front of the tree that had the girl he saw earlier.

"Umm, Kazuo, why are you toying with second raters like that centipede," a voice came from nowhere.

"Huh..." Kazuki said as he looked up at the tree as he was on the ground face first. 'Did she... talk'

"Why aren't you using your arrows to stop her Kazuo," the girl asked Kazuki

"Kazuo? Listen my names not-"Kazuki said standing up but was cut off.

"She's coming," the girl said looking at the sky.

"Shit" Kazuki yelled as the centipede creature descended upon from the sky. Fortunately the creature's attack was stopped as arrows and spears came flying at it.

"'Tis time! Draw!" the villagers yelled as they attacked the creature.

"Phew...saved." Kazuki said with a heavy breath.

"I'm disappointed in you Kazuo," The girl stuck to the tree said.

"Look," Kazuki started as he stood up in front of the girl, "I don't know who this Kazuo is...but im not them."

"Do you honestly expect me to believe that you're not..." the girl said as she looked straight at Kazuki's face, "You're not him"

"Now do you get it? My name's Kazuki." he said before then being grabbed by the centipede as the villagers had failed to end it.

"Lady Kaede... Inuyasha...Inuyasha is awake!" one of the villagers said.

'That spell was meant to never break, but it has... how!' The old priestess thought in surprise.

"You're body is so weak, I'll devour you whole," the centipede said to Kazuki, "Sacred Jewel and All"

"Get away!" Kazuki yelled as he hit the demon with a blast of light from his hand.

"Oh," the villagers said surprised at this.

'This happened in the well too,' the boy thought, 'How am I able to do such things?'

"VILE THING!" the centipede yelled as it bit Kazuki's side causing the Jewel of four souls to come out of him and into the air but it wasn't enough to hurt his internal organs.

"What!" Something came out of him!" one of the villagers yelled.

"The Jewel of Four Souls!" Kaede yelled as Inuyasha looked at the Jewel in the air.

'That was inside me?' Kazukj thought as he hit the ground

"I Knew! I Knew it! I Knew you were hiding it!" The Centipede yelled as she headed towards the Jewel.

"Give me the Jewel!" Inuyasha yelled.

"Inuyasha who seeks the Shikon Jewel, I have heard of half demon by such a name," the Centipede said, "At last we meet"

'Half-Demon? 'Her? I guess that would explain the dog ears'

"I would rather not meet you at all," Inuyasha said, "You give demons a bad name. If I wasn't stuck to this tree I would make sure you wouldn't give anything a bad name, bitch" Inuyasha retorted

"Umm, can you do anything but talk?" Kazuki asked.

"You cannot move,can you demon girl." The centipede said as she moved her head close to the Shikon Jewel, "That's quite a spell you're under, all you can do now is... watch"

"No... It's not yours, bitch!" The Half-Demon girl yelled as the centipede ate the jewel.

"She's eaten the magic bead!," one villager said in a scared voice

"This cannot be!" Kaede said in disbelief.

"What will it become Kaede-sama?" a villager asked the priestess. Right after he said that the centipedes lost arms reattached to her body.

"Her arms.." Kazuki said as he watched the centipede undergo a transformation.

"Such power, such joy!" the demon exclaimed as it wrapped around the tree Inuyasha was stuck to, crushing Kazuki against the half demon girl.

In any other situation, this might be considered somewhat tantalizing. However, faced with the prospect of his impending death, Kazuki could not bring himself to consider that he was currently pressed up very tightly against a rather cushy and apparently shapely young woman. It's not like she was dressed sexily or anything. In fact, she was dressed rather like a boy. 'Why do I think of these weird things when I'm about to die?' Kazuki scolded himself.

"If you don't want to become the centipede's lunch you must release the spell," Inuyasha spoke up, "Maybe I can stop her before she full digests the jewel, please, release me".

"No!, don't do it Kazuki!" Kaede yelled at him to not release Inuyasha

Kazuki had lived the life of a any regular Japanese teenager and the prospectof being killed by some random demon in the past wasnt exactly what any normal person would want. 'I don't know what's gonna happen next, but…I won't die here today!,' Kazuki thought as he placed his hand on the arrow only for it to dissipate into energy.

"The arrow vanished?!" Kaede yelled in surprise.

"Thank you," the girl said as she broke herself and Kazuki free of the monster.

"You... Child!" The Centipede yelled as she slithered straight towards the half demon girl.

"Old enough for you, hag!" Inuyasha yelled as she cut the demon in half with a single strike,

'I had no idea that girl was so powerful,' Kazuki thought in awe, until he saw the demon's arm move, "You gotta be kidding me...It's still moving." Kazuki groaned.

"Can you see a place on the demon's flesh where it's glowing," Kaede said pointing to a piece of the centipedes flesh that had been swiped off by Inuyasha, "The jewel must be burning inside her, and unless you remove it her body will rebuild itself"

"Unless I remove it?" Kazuki asked, not exactly keen on the idea of digging his hand into demon flesh, but he didn't want to deal with any more demons "You mean this?" Kazuki said as he pulled out the jewel from the piece of the centepide and the flesh dissolved and became bones, "So this jewel gives power to demons?" He said while looking at the jewel

"Exactly. And I think you just proved that you can't hold onto it..." Inuyasha said, "Now, unless you want to become the next victim of my claws like that centipede, I suggest you hand over that jewel to me." The half demon said flexing her hand in a menacing manner.
