Flames rise up into the air, providing light in the middle of the night. The glowing red orange tongues rise up as if to lick the starry sky. Wind is blowing... The winds of death have come...
The cries of women and children who had long ago given up on war to live in peace ring out, but are silenced shortly after they begin. The ground trembles and in rides a large white horse. Perched on the horse's back is a young man wearing rich garments.
"HYAH! ON, YOU BEAST!" the young man cries out, whipping the reins.
The horse cries out in pain, but charges on faster through the burning city. After a few rounds, he blows his trumpet, calling all his men to himself.
"Has it been done? Are all the filthy criminals dead?" the man upon the horse asks.
"Yes, your majesty! All of them are dead! Not a single person remains alive!" one person reports.
"Then all of you head home. I'm going to search for treasures that haven't burned up in the fire," the man on the horse says.
With that, everyone aside from the king turns and heads home. Quiet falls as the only sound remaining is the sound of the hungry flames consuming all that is in their path.
"Surely some treasure remains... I ought to take some for my new palace," the king says.
While digging through the rubble, the king discovers one woman who is still alive, clutching a child. She's bleeding heavily, but the infant is unharmed. The king crouches near them, causing the woman to panic.
"D-don't hurt him..." the woman says, very quietly.
"How are you alive?" the king asks, looking shocked.
The mother does not reply, but continues clutching the baby. The king trembles and drops his weapons.
"I've made a mistake... I... I didn't realize..." the king says, reaching out a hand towards the child.
"Please..." the mother whispers, growing weaker by the second.
"I'm sorry..." the king says.
He pries the baby out of the mother's arms and wraps him in silk cloths.
"I will protect him," the king says, "I will not make the same mistake again... What is his name?"
"...Ganondorf..." the woman says, closing her tired eyes.
The winds blow again...
