"Laura? Are you okay?"

She didn't answer mostly because she was almost positive if she opened her mouth right this moment, she'd lose what little she had in her stomach at the sheer jolting speed she'd just experienced.

"I know, very Edward Cullen, huh?" Danny joked understanding Laura's hesitation completely as the pace slowed to what even a human would consider a slow walk. Laura still hugging onto Danny's shirt for all she was worth. "If it helps any we're here." Danny continued her breath warm against the shell of the blonde's ear as she spoke.

Laura still didn't lift her head to see just where here was. If anything, she only closed her eyes even tighter at the whispered words.

"Lotta memories of this place." Danny muses not at all bothered by Laura's clinginess. "My death for one." She sighed as she climbed with shocking skill using only one hand to steady them both against the fixed ladder up the side of the dimly light building.

"Uahhh nice try kitty cat, but your sharp claws won't work on me. I'm not really here, remember?" They hear Mattie huff followed by the yowled hissing of an undoubtedly skittish Carmilla. "Sherry please, you're dirtying up that pretty coat of yours. Not to mention the state of your nails." Another mewed hiss echoes from the dark underbelly of the pipes.

But then Mattie's tone and whole demeanor changed as the two newcomers drew closer.

"Calla, please. Don't you want to see the stars?" "That's why you came up here, wasn't it? To watch the stars?"

"Carm." Laura sighed at the terrified mew that followed the asking, finally uncurling from her stranglehold on Danny's much taller frame once they reached the much more stable landing of the building's high rooftop.

The sound of her name has a weakened but hopeful trill sound from underneath a curved pipe in one corner of the star-lighted rooftop.

Very, very few times as Luara had seen her 'giant black cat' of a vampire girlfriend wearing any other fur than that of her preferred panther skin yet crouching now all Lara could see besides the twin points of Carmilla's eyes in the shadows was just how small and panicked the goth girl truly was.

"Carm it's alright." Laura attempted already readying for a one-sided fight much like Mattie had gotten as she dropped down onto her stomach for a better angle at keeping the kitten-embodied Carmilla in sight. Laura sighs in understanded hurt as she hears more than sees Carmilla literally digging in her heels or in this case, her very sharply clawed paws in, in her denial despite the calmer, more trusting look in her more expressive feline eyes.

With a groan, she drags herself to her feet hating the saddened, defeated mew Carm gives when it seemed Laura was giving up on coaxing her out so soon.

Laura on the other hand was already forming an idea on that front. A more sure-fire way of drawing her understandable stubborn girlfriend to her.

"Danny?" the human girl muses after sharing a conspirator-worthy grin with Mattie. The 'errand girl' of the Queen of Blood and Ashes even helpfully pulled out a cell phone Laura didn't even want to know where she'd gotten to put on some background accompanying music once she'd caught on to the scheme unfolding in Laura's mind.

"Ye-Yeah?" the taller girl answers already seeing the more devilish half smile forming on the other girl's lips as the softer melody tune swirled around them in the stare light backdrop of the rooftop escape.

A small part of Danny hated how easily she bent to Laura's asking even now when she was happy with Kirsch and Laura was glaringly ecstatic in her own relations with the currently hiding Carmilla Karnstein

"May I have this dance?"

Danny blinked not expecting that to be what Laura would ask her for. "Eerm." She hesitated looking between Laura's outstretched fingers at the woman's smirking expression.

Her fingers had little more than grazed Laura's fingertips when the sharp bite ripped past the covering of her dark pant leg into the vampiric skin of her ankle. Kitten Carmilla's fanged teeth biting down with all the strength of an angered crock with her power earning an equally annoyed hiss from Danny as she tried to kick the furry attacker away.

"Gah dammit Karnstin." Danny grunts as a giggling Laura crouches down to tug her grumpy girlfriend off the much taller woman's leg.

Powerful yet fluffy pawed arms wrapped in a cobra-worthy coil around Laura's shoulders as Carm the kitten grew into a little larger more panther-worthy feline. Carm now resembled more a domestic house cat than her full panther. Like handling a very fluffy backpack given her heft. "So fluffy Carm. So snuggly." Laura sighed rather than scold her still trembling girlfriend as she shifted her weight in counter to Carmilla's added fluffy bulk in her arms.

Hybrid golden green eyes peeked up at her in what for any other would have been a glare yet to Laura all she saw was the lingering suffocating panic in those dark eyes before Carm was dipping her furred head back to hide against Laura's chest. Paws rather than claws gripping her closer as a kitten-like mew sounds from the wild cat's throat.

"I've got you Carm. I promise." Laura whispers pressing a kiss between Carmilla's ears.

The music shifts then into a more lullaby version of a tune Laura can't help but smile for as her head lifts to catch Danny sending her a conspirator's smile. "Classics are so for reasons Hollis." She reminds as the soft piano notes of Clair de Lune fill the night air.

"So how about it? Care to dance?" Laura asks

The warm wet flat of a cat's tongue slid against the human girl's cheek before Carmilla was shifting once again this time back into her more thumb-wielding figure. "Yes please." The vampire mumbles her head still nuzzling against her girlfriend's shoulder.
