As Naruto and Peter got to train, and Peter was introduced to the rest of the spider clan, Naruto felt like they really wanted to train him and he almost felt sad that the clan thought this was his entire reason for living. It was a rather depressing feeling if he had time to think such things, the advanced training he was going through was brutal, and he means Might Guy flames of youth brutal.
Naruto was trained to learn all the basic skills of a ninja, and given his connection to the web of life, it took him a week to finish what essentially took years in the Academy, this was both embarrassing and frustrating for Naruto, he had a much harder time at the Academy. The one thing he knew for certain is that he absolutely hated the very idea of him even thinking of asking to have a giant mecha robot like those two. Naruto wanted to explain to Peter that no other ninja in the village rides a transforming mechas like those two, it was not expected or common.
Peter clearly only cared that it was cool and he wanted one, honestly, this makes him sound like a little kid wanting a toy, so since he knew others were in charge of his training, he simply said fuck it, and went into the deep parts of the Clan den, and just concentrated on his advanced training. The training might be painful, but at least he didn't have to put up with that level of embarrassment.
It took them a month but they finished the training, Naruto was still angry that he told that ancient spider that when he described her Naruto said she was the size of an elephant, that pissed her off so bad that he had to run for dear life from her all over the walls and to make matters even worse Peter was laughing his ass off.
Naruto told him to knock it off with the trying to get women in the village pissed at him because if he doesn't, he will be the one to get the Venom Symbiote next. After all, they will both want to get even with Peter at that point. "Ok, I will stop with the comments, jeez, you are no fun." Naruto reminded him that he shouldn't be doing that to the person who pretty much saved his life.
Peter asked when did he do that? Naruto reminded him, the seal that teleported them away from the freaking explosion. "No, but seriously I am more worried about Doctor Octavius and Olivia, I know that explosion caused them harm, and I can't help but worry about them, after all, you don't know them as well as I do, I have been working with the two of them for some time." So what exactly is his relationship with the daughter of Doc Ock? Well, he did mention that she has been making out with Gwen quite a bit, and he understood that she had feelings for him. If things progress as they are, Olivia and Gwen more than likely will end up joining his harem.
"So you could end up married to her, and I guess that explains why you are so worried about Olivia and her father. I wouldn't worry, you did set a barrier to protect the control circuit, and even if the arms are fused to his spine, we could ask Olivia to use nanomachines to restore his spine and separate the arms from his spine. So don't worry buddy, your future father-in-law will be just fine to be there for eventually seeing his future grandchildren."
Naruto relaxed as he said that and admitted he would try his best to help them as much as he could, even at this moment he has sent fifty shadow clones to think and work on a possible way to help them recover and think of any possible way those bombs could be harmed by it. The fact that he had to do that while still training to learn even more advanced spider clan techniques was something nobody can say is not a major effort.
Peter asked him why is he so upset and what is he upset about, "I am not upset Peter, I am not angry, I feel like an absolute failure as a person, it took me much longer to finish my Academy training and you took so little that it makes me think I am dumb, I am disappointed in myself, so relax Peter, I am not angry at you at all."
Peter actually felt bad hearing his friend say, "I only managed to do that because essentially I used shadow clones to speed up my training, something you clearly had not learned during your academy days, you are not dumb, you simply didn't have access to the same techniques as I did when I took on that training, and what the hell, that bite from that spider hurt like a bitch and you made it sound like it was practically a kiss."
Naruto told him that at the time it didn't hurt as much, or at least it didn't hurt him as much as Peter apparently felt, but this was simply part of spider clan traditions, and if he was going to be a spider ninja, he has to undergo all the training, rituals and adhere to clan traditions. Every clan in Konoha has traditions that other people would consider insane, and that is why most of them are not discussed with people who aren't part of the clan, clan techniques, traditions, and other practices are considered to be clan secrets.
They were ready to go back home and thanks to the power of madam web they were sent back to New York in a rather impressive manner. They were getting ready to go back to their classes and Mary Jane wanted to ask her how his summer break was? Not to worry his girlfriend told her that he spent his summer learning new things, Mary Jane told him it was alright to tell her that he spent that time getting over any injuries that he suffered after what happened when that terrorist came to the convention center to bomb the invention being presented.
"And don't worry I already know about where you went, I was not simply sitting around you know, I am a member of the Spider Clan too, that Elder Spider sure can do amazing things with her web, I got training and even learned a few things I can do with webbing from the Elder, so I know where Naruto and you were, no need for that vacation excuse, wait till Naruto finds out what Gwen can do. That will be so funny."
Peter asked her what she meant by that, well Mary Jane didn't want to go there without inviting her friend, and yes Gwendolyn was the one that bit her on her neck, the one that bit her friend Gwen was the Elder, so in truth we were Train by Gwendolyn and Olivia also was trained with us so Gwen and Olivia are probably as skilled as Naruto but a whole lot stronger, that is going to be quite the wake-up call for the guy.
"So damn it, I guess you two are going to form a Harem even if I don't do a thing, this is not what I was expecting when I came back at all. Do I even know the women you are considering adding to the harem?" Mary Jane smiled in such a way that made Peter feel nervous for a second there. There was a hidden smirk there that was making him rather worried. Peter realized if Gwendolyn did this, then chances are Gwen went through the entire training too, and Naruto is not going to be able to get free from the notion that she probably met the women he was already married to who lived in Konoha.
"Somehow I don't think Naruto is having an easy time explaining where he was this entire time to his girlfriend Gwen, and to make matters worse I only have a month to register for classes and get ready to go back to the university. It is not even our damn fault, I was there minding my own business taking pictures for the newspaper, and Naruto was there helping to present that reactor he and those two were working so hard on, and this freaking nutcase shows up screaming some bullshit that made no sense, either Explosions are art or Art is an explosion, either way the fucking guy nearly killed us, had that security seal not activate, you and Gwen would be attending our funeral so cut me some fucking slack here!"
Mary Jane knew all this, but she honestly expected when it happened that something went wrong with the reactor, but for some strange reason, no media outlets or newspapers were reporting about this supposed crazed bomber which was rather odd. Peter said it was not surprising since bombings were not probably reported to avoid inspiring any potential copycat criminals that might try to emulate what they heard about. "Look I am alive, I am fine, and got the training of a freaking lifetime while learning about things I thought only existed in TV shows and manga. Now the only thing I need to worry about is that I got the impression that the bomber also came to the convention center to kill Naruto and me, call it crazy but that is what my spidey senses were telling me."
Mary Jane asked him if he had any clue who would want to kill both of them, as Spiderman he had made many enemies in the criminal underworld, so there were simply too many people that could or would want to kill him. Naruto doesn't engage in outright crime-fighting on a large scale like he does. He did however work for a really long time with Doctor Octavius and his family to create the reactor and that does narrow the potential list of suspects, to one, Norman Osborn, that reactor would be the key competition against whatever Norman was working on, and to eliminate that competition he would resort to kill them.
Mary Jane understood what Peter was saying and she pretty much told him that maybe Norman hired the bomber, to begin with, as long as Norman himself has no ties with him, he can get Naruto and those people killed without getting his own hands dirty. It was a rotten way of doing this, true, but like they say, everything is fair in love and war, so try to relax, since he came back she was going to make sure to cook him a delicious meal, and while they eat, she can tell him of all the training she had to do.
Peter asked in an almost pleading tone could they eat without having to talk about the training she did, cause he had this sinking feeling that she did training that made what he did look like a picnic. The answer was clear and direct, she will cook that meal, but she wants his opinion on her training and how well he thinks she did. Damn it, once Peter heard that he knew no reason in heaven or in hell would allow him to escape this.
"Fine, I accept, chances are you are not going to cook anything right now, instead you are going to reheat food you already prepared. So as thanks for the effort and kindness of cooking this food for me, I will listen to anything you have to tell me, so feel free to tell me what you learn, complain about the cruelty of the training, anything and everything is fair game. I get it, but can we please eat, 'cause I am freaking starving here and I don't know why!"
In a different location, a much different conversation was taking place, Norman Osborn was having a video conversation with a man who apparently still wished to remain unknown, the man wore a rather distinctive swirl mask, and the only reason he could tell his much was that the software the other man was using to distort his image, was at least to him the only redeemable thing about these video conversations is that the software used by the other man was so pathetic he had a hard time not laughing as their conversations ended.
"I wanted to speak to report the results of our mission in that convention center, against Dr. Octavius and those that were in league with him. In the end, the reactor being presented was indeed destroyed, by one of our men, and the two men in question were attacked and a massive explosion did happen where these two men were present. However we could not find any remains or information about their dead bodies, there is no information in any of the police databases, and no bodies present at the morgue, so we can't tell where those dead bodies are."
Norman glared at him and he looked at the monitor as he began to pull the camera closer, "So let's get me straight, you want me to pay you for half-assed results on this mission, I do not need to be told information that can be easily found on every news channel after the incident, let's not forget that Otto and his daughter Olivia came through this with minimal harm, they were supposed to be KILLED, not slightly inconvenienced."
Norman was not done yet, "And the reactor you blew up was deactivated when your man caused the explosion, there was no danger to the people in that presentation, in fact, due to this Otto's company approval ratings have increased, due to the massive amount of people feeling bad at what happened and giving him sympathy and this of course improved his public relations as this was highly publicized. So instead of harming him like I hired you to do, you actually ended up helping those two, and you want me to pay you for helping my competition."
Norman was now furious, "And what did I ask you, kill those two and bring me the remains, that is what I asked you to do, you used an explosion in such a flamboyant manner, and doing so would destroy much of the remains of those two had it actually worked, so instead you tell me what I saw on the news, and tell me you have no remains or even a clue where they are alive or dead because until I have the dead bodies of those two I ain't believing them to be dead. I am no schmuck that you can scam so if you still want payment, then I have no other alternative, you will have to give me massive amounts of the energy those two use, you called it Chakra. The container has been dropped at the place for your dead drops. Contact me only after the container is full and you are ready for me to pick it up."
Norman glared at the other man, "I hired elite supposed ninjas, specialists in espionage, sabotage, and assassinations, but the rest of this mission tells me you have the talent of thugs not even the Kingpin would have considered hiring. Final warning, show results in this, or so help me, I will find some alternative options to get the things I need done, and I will make sure every single boss in the underworld knows my not-so-stellar opinion of you."
Now upon hearing this threat, the man on the other side simply turned off the software that had distorted his image, or he simply punched a terminal so hard that it was broken. "You said these two were punks, smart, but punks, we knew nothing that at least one of them was a Jounin-level threat, we should have done more to study the targets before the mission began, but this is not something so easy to ask for, you are literally asking our members to give you essentially a container full of what essentially is life force. We never agreed to that being a part of the job, what the hell are we getting out of this, if it is just cash, you can stick it. You plan to use our life force, I want to know how, and how this benefits ME!"
Norman looked at the man and tried very hard to hide his own thoughts, these so-called ninjas were worthless, but he needed that energy to finish his three serums so he had no alternative, he attempted to get it from them as an apology for their screwup. These people may be incompetent, but they are not stupid. "Fine you want to know, keep this shit quiet, and don't you fucking dare to blab to anyone, I am using the energy you called Chakra to perfect a version of the super soldier serum that created Captain America. With that energy, I shall have a serum that is even better than the one that made him. But if you want something, fine, give me two containers full, and I will give you a vial of this serum that can be injected into one person!"
The masked man asked without even hesitation what would the effects be, "The effect is the person gains superior strength, senses, reflexes, and intelligence, and returns the body of the person injected with it to perfect condition, it can even reverse aging or so it is speculated. That girl who is ever so in love with you, you know the one that is doing origami when she thinks nobody is looking, will be able to have your second-in-command child, is that good enough for you? or do I need to end this and pretend you never existed in the first place?"
The masked man knew that Norman was not telling him everything, but this was an opportunity too good to be true, one of the reasons she was so depressed all the time was because as far as they knew she could never have a child, but if this serum works she could one day have a child of her own. "We agree with this deal, leave the second container and it should be full no later than tomorrow. But just as you don't trust us, we have no reason to trust you, keep your end of this bargain or else."
Well by the time they registered for classes for the next semester, they spent some time with family and friends, but Naruto couldn't help but feel that there was something wrong happening or would happen. Most would be happy to go home and Gwen told him things he didn't expect, well this was a shock, as she informed him she actually was now a member of the Spider Ninja Clan, what actually made him worry was that she mentioned that she also spent some time talking with the people that lived in the village, his academy teacher was happy that Naruto was doing well, Teuchi was glad that he was healthy, and Naruto began to relax thining she met some of his old classmates and friends, nothing to worry about.
Till she asked him when was he planning to tell her that he was not only married before he even met her but to a couple of women? To everyone, she looked like her happy self that everyone knows but deep down Naruto understood that she was secretly upset, so he had to choose to make excuses, lie, or just flat-out tell her the truth. And knowing what those other options would cause, he decided to tell nothing but the truth. For better or for worse, he would never lie to her, "Alright most people would freak the hell out if I tell them I have to marry multiple women, not only due to the personal safety of my wives but also because I fall under an ancient law, so chances are you already been explained about the law, but before I couldn't tell you, if I did, I would never see you again, and to me that is not something I would ever be able to live with, a life without you to me is not worth living. I can't imagine my life if you are not part of it."
She didn't like the reason why she was not told but she was blushing as she heard that last part, so in general she was happy. That is when she asks if Peter would have to marry multiple women too? Naruto told her that more than likely yes, but the danger of the law is that if Peter takes too long the Hokage can take charge and arrange marriage meetings and potential women to marry him. To the Hokage this was no different than any other matter to do with her ninja, so efficiency and results were major factors, if Peter sat on his laurels too much, Naruto told her, that yes, he would end up married to women he never even met before. So in truth the harem is made up of at least three women, he already married two so, he only needed to find his third wife, and well when he did, it was a major change in his life, Gwen realized he was talking about her and blushed.
"So anything you plan to do today?" Naruto told her that since he already registered for classes, and bought all textbooks from a secondhand online store, he was ready to go to the first day of class when the semester started, he only had to wait for the books to be delivered which would be within five standard days. Naruto also mentioned that he had this strange feeling that something wrong was going to happen so he better prepare, not to mention he had to check with Doctor Octavius and his family, since they are more than likely worried about him as he is worried if they are injured, and to find if he could help them.
"Honestly Naruto there is no need to worry, I know, Olivia is a spider ninja too, after all, she took her father to be treated by two women named Tsunade and Sakura, you know them well. They did their best to treat Otto, and with the help of his daughter, Otto made a complete recovery before they returned to their home. In fact, they probably know there was no need to worry, and they were told how you ended up back in the village, plain and simple, so there is nothing for you to worry about."
Naruto relaxed hearing her say that and told her since he didn't have to go and check on them, then maybe he could visit some of his friends who could tell him what the hell was going on within the criminal underworld, depending on how much information he could get, he could begin to formulate possible preparations and response plans for the disaster that was headed their way, it was not a matter if but rather when, and how would this threat manifest, but something deep down told him this was not going to be as pleasant as other things he faced before.
The first thing he did, was pull all the information he could get on any new criminal movements since the attack at the convention center, some of the spider bots managed to get some communications such as e-mails and text messages, but the real thing such as video conferencing was simply so heavily encrypted that the bots didn't have a chance to break the code much less steal the videos. This told Naruto only one thing, if the video encryption was this strong it meant someone was willing to spend a fortune to hire the best programmers they could get, just so they could maintain control of the information contained in those videos.
This, however, had a benefit that most others would not see, it made one person prominent on the list of people that they would have to face, this idea pretty much made this person suspect number one, a person who has vast resources and money, and a person who by no means hates Otto Octavius and everything he tried to do with his reactor, never mind that this person had an entire division of people specialized in Computer Science and Information Technology, the person whom he suspected to be the next major pain in the ass for both Naruto and Peter, would not be an easy person for Peter to accept as a potential threat, it was the father of his friend and a guy who had been so close to him and his aunt, that they had thanksgiving day dinner at his Aunt's home. He was so close to the Parker family, that he was treated as such, family. But Naruto could not say all signs pointed to one person, Norman Osborne.
