Synopsis: The newly appointed assistant Uni is invited by her friend to check out her latest creation, but when she is left alone after an outburst against Nepgear, the tsundere discovers other devices her friend had hidden from her and ends up using one of them, resulting in a new cute behavior. How will Nepgear handle this situation without carrying away?
It had been three weeks since Uni became the assistant to Nepgear, the tinker girl. The latter had gone overboard in her madness to become a robot and was ruining her health due to her working nonstop for a month on her tinkering things
To avoid such a dramatic tragedy befalling the girl, Uni took it upon herself to look after her friend, as the girl was known for having unhealthy obsessions. The tsundere, upon seeing how exhausted the girl was, and by her own fault she had nearly hurt her with a strong blow back then, promised to never let her friend dragged her into her mischiefs ever again.
Uni was always careful whenever Nepgear started a project she was passionate about; at least the pink-haired girl understood her mistakes and called her out on them, which was a relief since she didn't want to see her like that again, so frail for a passion.
The black-haired girl could say to be overwhelmed by additional work, as not only she was doing her duties as a CPU candidate, but she also acted as an assistant to Nepgear. She never complained, always making sure that Nepgear ate and slept well, and did not forget her duties despite her passion.
She noticed, however, that Nepgear seemed to be cagey about her projects ever since she had become her assistant; besides, she received fewer calls from the girl to demand help on inventions it had been one week since the last time she had been called by her friend, which made the girl both worried and wary.
In Lastation, Uni immediately left in a hurry, heading towards Planeptune where Nepgear had called her out to talk about one of her projects she was working on. The girl hoped it wouldn't be another robotic thing again after the incident with those Processor Units last time.
Upon arriving at her desired location, Uni didn't have time to greet her as a joyful Nepgear had already bumped into her to talk about her latest creation. "Huh? A translator device for monsters?" Uni curiously asked as the humming girl in front of her showed off her new creation as if she held the world.
As Uni focused on describing the device, it looked like an antenna receiver in its smallest form, perfectly fitting the palm of her friend standing in front of her. She noticed that the object had probably been made from recycled materials and modified by some sort of mechanical parts. "Huh?" A little and inaudible interjection naturally blurted from her mouth as she wrinkled her eyes; the mechanical parts seemed oddly familiar, as if she had seen them somewhere.
Seeing how focused the tsundere was, the girl coughed to get her attention. "Isn't that the greatest idea? And look at the shape; it's pretty unique, doesn't it?" The tinker girl's voice sounded like a melody that spread across the room, making every machine that Nepgear had created seem to sound her sweet tone.
As she heard the passionate but sweet voice of the girl, Uni flustered a bit but attempted to stay unfazed in order to give a cold but objective response. "Ugh...That looks like some weird antenna." Her voice sounded like she despised the shape of the device and its components, using words such as 'weird'.
The honest but cold opinion of her friend left Nepgear with some cold sweat, but she managed to stay with a unchanged smile. She hoped for a more cheerful answer, but she was used to a such a cold treatment from the girl. "At least it isn't a mecha thing." The tone of the tsundere suddenly rang out in a soft whisper, unheard by her interlocutor, and was accompanied by a wave of relief, even though she was still remembering the events from the past two weeks.
An awkward silence invaded the room; Uni took another look at the device held by Nepgear and noticed something else. "So how does it work?" She asked, breaking the silence, giving her a questioning look as she glanced at the girl again. "I don't think it could be used alone." The device itself, as in the antenna, would be unable to be used alone without a tier device in addition.
The tsundere pointed out that detail, and the girl regained her joyful expression and became excited by her friend's curiosity. "Happy you asked for it!" Nepgear exclaimed instantly, she then pulled out her N-Gear and showed a program to the girl.
Uni gazed closely at the program shown by Nepgear, it looked like a pretty simple software to code. By the looks of it, it appeared to be just a prototype since the girl had coded it within a single day; she also noticed the similarities with the design of a translation website, and "Monster Translator App" was written on the top of the page.
Besides, the program on her N-Gear was disconnected from the antenna by the look of the icon of a crossed antenna on the corner of the screen of her device; once she finished her observation, the girl in front of her breathed deeply to prepare for her explanation. "Basically, once that antenna is connected to my N-Gear through the software I have programmed into it, the Monster Translator App is activated,"
Nepgear spoke in a joyful voice, as slowly a flame of passion and determination filled her eyes, colored lilac. "So when a monster, not gifted by the parole, emits vibrations through their noise to that antenna, the N-Gear translates what they're saying." The girl passionately concluded, while her body seemed to shake with excitement over this invention.
Upon hearing this, Uni crossed her arms in perplexity, with a stare that meant 'why'. She then questioned the girl, "Great, but what's the point of knowing the monster's language?" Her voice had a mix of bored and desperate tones as she changed the position of her arms, making Nepgear stop shaking her body. She wondered how Nepgear could even come up with such an idea during her free time.
Watching the perplexity on her friend's face, Nepgear explained her idea to help her understand her point of view. "Imagine all the good that could come from this. We could either find common ground with them or anticipate all of their attacks during a fight; it would make things easier for everyone." The Candidate spoke confidently, as if it could be a new evolution of the battle system.
Uni had already understood her meaning, "The part of finding a common ground with them seems impossible, but the part of anticipating all their moves for a better strategy in fighting seems pretty good to me." But just by imagining how a battle would go if monsters suddenly started talking, her embarrassment kicked in at the thought of them starting to spell out their attacks or randomly telling their backstories.
"Gah!" She exclaimed in a panic, pointing at the girl as she shook her head no. While sweating from the mere contemplation of this contingency, she continued, "Remember, the monsters are still wild creatures; besides, will that really be useful? I mean, some monsters showed teamwork, but some monsters are way too dumb just to think about it."
Nepgear looked at her friend's awkward expression and blurted out a little chuckle "This is why I wanted you to test out with me, the Monster Translator App to see if this will be really useful or not."
"So we'll be going into a dungeon to test it out on various monsters, I am counting on you assistant!" The girl retorted back in a strong voice as she stared the tsundere, making her blush.
"F-Fine, that aside that you were pretty fast to code a whole program and create such a device in just a short amount of time," the tsundere let out, impressed by the productivity and efficiency of her friend.
Hearing how her beloved friend's voice sounded like a praise, the girl hummed in a beautiful aura. "Hehe! I did my best!" she said, feeling the warmth of being praised either by Neptune or Uni. The feeling really made her feel good and more confident.
Suddenly, a rumble filled the room sinking the place in silence as Nepgear's belly was where the sound came from. The innocent girl immediately blushed from embarrassment as she couldn't conceal it in front of the tsundere.
"Sorry, Uni," Nepgear said in an apologetic voice. "I-I didn't mean to make such a noise." She stuttered, feeling awkward and sweating from her panic. "I must be a little hungry," she awkwardly giggled, feeling like someone was about to lecture her.
"Nepgear...," Uni said in a cold voice as she looked down, hiding her eyes from Nepgear's view. Nepgear couldn't make out the face she was making.
"Yes?" the girl responded panicking as her spine shivered from the cold aura giving off by the tsundere before her eyes.
As she looked more closely inside the lab, she noticed new devices that hadn't been there last time. The hunger of her friend made her understand, "Have you not eaten since the last time I came here one week ago? Were you working on other projects without telling me?" She spoke in a cold tone, freezing the atmosphere around them.
"I... I..." The girl stammered, her voice shaking as she thought of an excuse to get out of this sticky situation. Uni was right after all.
"Tell me the truth !" The tsundere's shout exploded in an aggressive voice as looked back at her with an evident angry face, forcing Nepgear to stand back as a wince appeared on her face.
"Yes, you're right; I did work on various projects in secret without telling you. I am sorry for keeping things from you." Nepgear admitted as she apologized in sadder tone for having lied to her best friend and keeping secrets from her.
"How stupid and carefree are you!?" Uni screamed as her increasingly loud voice assaulted the girl's ears, causing them to buzz.
"You promised me you would call me every time you worked on something; you can't even take care of yourself when it comes to your tinkering things!" She continued on her lecture, red with anger toward the girl, wondering why she had lied to her.
"I'm sorry, but I assure you I pay more attention to my well-being," Nepgear tried to calm her friend in a submissive voice as Uni had clearly the upper hand in the conversation.
"Cut it out! You don't understand how I feel when you act like that," Uni retorted in a dominant voice, her tone mixed with anger and sadness. Her breath was accelerated to its peak as she exploded with emotion.
"Goodness...How cold...You are a bully," the tinker girl responded, tears welling up in her eyes. Making the tsundere calmer instantly,
"I-I just said that for your sake, I-I mean I am doing my assistant job, nothing more!" Uni stammered as she panicked at the sight of Nepgear's sad face.
The pink-haired girl sighed. "Only an assistant..." Her whisper sounded disappointed. "Fine, I'll go eat. But stay here; don't follow me." She continued as she walked toward the door. "I think you are the one who doesn't understand how I feel when you act like that," she concluded as she stepped out of the room, leaving Uni alone for the moment.
"Crap! I messed up... Should I have been more gentle with her?" The tsundere panicked as she realized she had flown off the handle in anger and worry. "No, I'm not in the wrong, I am the only one who can take care of her."
Long minutes passed as Uni waited for her friend to finish eating. She was doing paced back and forth in the lab as she was still plagued by the face of Nepgear before she left.
She still reflected on why Nepgear hadn't called her for a week and working on projects without her. 'You don't understand me.' Why would she say that to her? She was the one to talk. Uni was just an assistant who avoided her friend to waste her well-being.
The more she thought about it, the more her head hurt; Uni didn't know how to deal with that situation; she had done everything to make Nepgear healthy during her hardcore session of tinkering.
"Gah! She really made me feel like that… I'll end up doubting everything at this rate!" Uni exclaimed in frustration as she sped up her pace through the room before suddenly stopping and becoming lost in thought.
Was she in the wrong? Was she being too persistent and nagging her? No, she denied it all; she wouldn't admit her care was invasive and overwhelming for the girl. Her pride couldn't simply admit she might be doing something wrong with her friend.
As she lost her way in the lab, Uni turned onto a table where various devices under experiment were exposed; there was a label on the table that said "On-going," as if Uni had discovered the other projects hidden by Nepgear.
She was still frustrated; four projects had been kept from her. Uni started doubting herself, and Nepgear seemed to resent her. Did she lose all of her trust? She thought she might be the worst friend ever for making her cry when she didn't understand the reason why.
Soon, one of the projects caught her interest; the device resembled a strange-looking weapon, with an antenna as its cannon. She felt compelled to pick it up. Trapped on her own world, nothing could bother her anymore – she had found a way to forget about what had happened earlier.
The device was pretty light, like a feather, despite the composition of the weapon and its odd-looking cannon. Then a stupid idea popped into her head, thinking that she could use that pistol. On the back of the device, there were three tiny wheels, as if there were options for use.
The first tiny wheel showed three options doodled indecipherable, the first option seemed to show a dogoo, the other two options were blank. This was expected as the device was not complete, so she just left the cursor on the first option.
The list of parameters offered by the second tiny wheel was by the number of three, but instead of doodling on it there were numbers, the cursor was set on ten to avoid any disfunctioning of the device. She didn't touch it as she didn't understand its use as there wasn't a manual on the use of the device.
The last tiny wheel had no description and it seemed as if the wheel was stuck when Uni tried to spin it, so it was either not the function was not implemented yet or was broken.
Frustration welled up on her face as she realized she was supposedly the expert in firearms, and the touch and texture of the weapon reminded her of the mechanical parts used on the antenna for the Monster Translator. "Gah!" Uni exclaimed, her voice soon starting to sound like a grumble. "That girl really created the weirdest gun in the world; I don't think she even wrote a manual for it." It was the most complex firearm she had ever held in her life.
After complaining, the girl took position and pointed the gun towards the wall; her arms were shaking due to stress as the black-haired girl wondered if that invention wouldn't shoot a beam that would destroy everything.
As her heart rate increased due to anxiety, she could feel the distance between herself and her target growing farther; however, she didn't step back because she was curious about the results and besides, Nepgear probably had already tested it without incident, so why should she be so anxious? Because of the feeling of touching something without authorization?
"Gah! Why I am even worried? I am her assistant, so I don't need her go-ahead anyway," Uni exclaimed. She had taken the "assistant" thing to a whole new level at this rate.
Calming herself, she pulled the trigger and heard an audible click, indicating the gun was loaded. She expected a strong shot, but when she pulled the trigger again, there was no sound, as if the gun were broken.
The tsundere laughed at her own sense of suspense as the device seemed to devoid of use for the time being."Ha! It was expected; if I were here, I would have finished it. I am the specialist of firearms." Uni mocked in an arrogant voice, laughing as her stress fell away and she put the device back on the table. The cannon then turned towards her.
Laughing to reassure herself, the gun still lingered in her thoughts. "I wonder what this gun can do once it's fully operational?" the girl wondered, looking at it inquisitively without realizing that the device had loaded a shot in her direction as she had pulled the trigger.
As the shot was about to load completely, a sound emanated from the weapon as it began to warm up, finally catching the attention of the tsundere from the danger. "Crap!" an exclamation blurted out.Why Nepgear hadn't written a manual of use.
As Uni realized the gun was firing, she tried to escape, but it was too late; wherever she went, the gun's range encompassed her.
The gun fired a wave of energy hitting Uni directly causing her to fall on the floor by the shot. At least knowing Nepgear it wasn't a deadly weapon, it was something else.
Nepgear once finished eating went back to the lab as she should have been waiting for her to test her latest creation, the Monster Translator App.
However, she was nervous since she had become her assistant, Uni had almost completely controlled all of her actions; she was constantly forced to take breaks due to the cold voice, which she found invasive and overwhelming under the pressure each time she called out the girl.
She couldn't return to the past as she promised her friend to always call her to help her, but she somehow ended up hiding things from her because she had enough of having the cold tsundere nagging her.
She could understand the anger of her friend, after all it was her own fault for having exaggerated about those robotic Processor Units last time.
As in the lab once again, Nepgear looked for Uni while holding her N-Gear and her antenna receiver.
As Nepgear scanned the lab, she was surprised by the mess she saw. She exclaimed, "Goodness! What happened here?" Various devices and other items were strewn about the room, as if something had jumped everywhere.
"Even the table fell down? It must be something big," she said as she walked further into the room. Something big was responsible for such a mess, but Uni wouldn't be the type to make a mess on purpose.
Nepgear called out, "Uni? Are you here?" She couldn't tell if the girl was there or not; the room was less illuminated than before the sudden shift in atmosphere had left her imagination running wild.
'Boing' Nepgear heard a noise just after speaking; it sounded like something bouncing around her. The presence moved quickly, so she hadn't had enough time to see the it. She didn't have her weapon on her and was helpless, in addition to being worried for Uni.
"I hope Uni is safe..." Nepgear said as she looked around, noticing the room had become darker; her senses identified the presence of a monster.
'Boing, boing.' The noise grew louder as it approached the girl, and she could now make out the shadow of the creature. She was certain it would soon reveal itself, and her heart raced in fear. How had a monster managed to escape the security of the Basilicom?
"Gulp..." The girl swallowed her saliva as the fear of an attack reached its peak, and without a weapon, she couldn't defend herself; she could have used her HDD form but didn't want to destroy her lab.
'Boing, boing...Boom!' Suddenly, the shadow tackled the girl, making her fall far from her original position near the table where Uni had discovered her hidden projects. The girl was now surrounded by four of her projects lying on the ground.
After landing on the ground, the shadowy figure was cast upon her. She accidentally dropped her N-Gear and her antenna; the other projects were scattered on the ground.
The thought of encountering her end popped into the mind of the girl as she found herself helpless against a shadow that was supposed to be a monster; she was afraid and closed her eyes, resigning herself to her horrible fate.
But nothing happened as she opened her eyes and looked at the shadowy figure. The shape became more defined as the outline of a familiar girl came into view.
Her astonishment was enormous as the shape of the shadow was visible and the room became lightened. "U-Uni?" Nepgear exclaimed, her eyes wide open; despite her surprise, she was relieved it was just Uni who most likely pulled a prank on her.
"Goodness! You scared me...did Ram teach you how to pull pranks on others?" She asked the tsundere, trying to rationalize all those creepy events in the lab.
The tsundere didn't respond, so curious Nepgear looked at her closely and noticed that the tsundere's smile looked more like a dogoo one. She also seemed to have lost the ability to speak. Her black clothes were slightly soiled and her knees were bruised from all the bouncing around on the floor. Most importantly, the tsundere's eyes looked like they were hypnotized.
As Nepgear turned her head to the side, she saw the device used by Uni, the strange gun. The girl extended her arm to touch the weapon; it felt warm, as if someone had recently used it.
"Goodness! The hypnosis gun worked?" Nepgear exclaimed, her mouth wide open due to her surprise; she had already tested that device, but it hadn't worked.
The gun was a part of the projects the girl had postponed for later; it was useless to her now. Nepgear knew Uni couldn't avoid her fate. She sighed. "Poor Uni, the gun was still a prototype and was dysfunctional."
"A manual of use wouldn't have helped her either for the same reason." Uni approached her slowly as Nepgear panicked.
As Nepgear stated, Uni had no chance of escaping when using that device without being warned in first place, and now as result she behaved like a dogoo.
Whilst Nepgear was in her thoughts, Uni started licking her cheeks by pure affection for the girl, bringing the tinker girl back in reality.
She was startled by her friend, but it was normal given her current condition; she didn't try to distance herself from her, instead she giggled "Hehe, U-Uni, you're tickling me! Hehe, if you keep doing this, you might end up spitting on my face." The soft sensation and the affection from the tsundere's tongue on her face made her smile.
She had the occasion to experience affection from dogoos, but the last time it happened, her clothes were half dissolved by them, so having a humanoid creature act like them wasn't as embarrassing.
In her agitation, Nepgear accidentally activated both her N-Gear and the Monster Translator App at the same time; the device started translating all the sounds emanating from the hypnotized tsundere.
The antenna connected to the N-Gear and received the information; it then translated "I LOVE YOU..." The N-Gear gave its translation in a robotic voice, causing the girl to turn toward her device.
"Huh ?" Nepgear exclaimed as she picked up her N-Gear to see if she hadn't dream as she saw what was written on her screen she blushed.
"How come...it's because she is acting like a dogoo, it seems so impossible for her to say those words" The girl voiced her assumption in embarrassment, carrying a hint of sadness in her tone.
Uni stopped licking the pink-haired girl and glanced at her with a demanding look, still smiling as it did so. The Monster Translator App immediately translated its sound into words.
"I WANT A HUG...," the N-Gear translated, in its monotone voice, making Nepgear blush even more. Uni demanded a hug? Impossible! She was so cold; how could she be so cuddly all of a sudden?
The lilac-eyed girl was lost. Uni had been invasive and cold toward the tinker girl these last few days, but was she being a bit too overprotective of her in reality? Did she blame herself for the last incident?
The translator worked on a person who had been hypnotized who acting like a monster, but the creator of those devices believed Uni was just saying that because of her dogoo's behavior.
But somehow she managed to curve her face into a smile and hugged the demanding girl in her arms with all of her strength. "How cute~"her voice carrying amusement. "Even so, I have to get you back to your normal state as soon as possible." But it was going to be a tough task, because deep down inside, she knew she was slowly falling for her cute friend.
In one hour of working on the hypnosis gun, despite an assistant being so sticky and cuddly to the pleasure of Nepgear. She managed to install a reverse effect on it, allowing anyone who used it to revert back to their normal state.
The device she had created in secret emitted a wave of energy that, once reaching its target, would send vibrations into their brain, forcing them to behave as the device had been programmed - like a form of hypnosis.
Installing the hypnosis program onto her gun was easy; she used the data and information about the wanted creature from the Nepedia, focusing only on the dogoo ones for some reason.
Sitting in her chair, she thought about why she had initially created such a device; she wanted to use it on monsters to make them less intelligent than a dogoo. "To think I managed to achieve this result by using the rest of the processor unit destroyed by Uni a while ago...and the Nepedia." She sighed, unable to believe her own genius.
Until one day, she had used her gun accidentally on Neptune; she had postponed that project for later, as it was considered unstable and not totally efficient, as Neptune had made it to resist the hypnosis.
The idea for a translation app appeared in her mind just after the failure of the hypnosis gun.
In reality, she had conceived all those devices to get attention. Nepgear was being demanding, while Uni was more invasive. "Maybe I am suffering from affective dependency," Nepgear sighed. It wasn't her fault, after all - between a sister too lazy, a tsundere too cold towards her, and her own madness last time. "I need to cure Uni, but...
But seeing how cute and cuddly Uni was in that state, instead of instantly curing her, she left her in that state, desiring to have such an affection from the tsundere.
For an hour, Nepgear had her own pet, thanks to her device she could understand all of her desires, she played, hugged, tapped and fed her, she gave a lot of affection which Uni immediately returned before falling asleep in her lap.
She felt ashamed to take advantage of Uni in this condition, but after all the tsundere had been so cold and a bully to her, so why couldn't she be selfish for once?
While Uni slept in her lap, Nepgear watched and listened as all the translated text appeared on her N-Gear screen, all of which were cute and gentle words.
Nepgear considered adding the voice of Uni to make it sound more realistic. "Goodness, what am I even thinking?" She let out an ashamed smile as she patted Uni on her head, waking her up from her nap.
The black-haired girl woke up, looked at Nepgear, and rubbed her head against her to show her affection; the tinker girl could only blush as she started to speak to herself in a monologue.
"Forgive me, Uni. I guess I was really desperate and selfish to take advantage of you like that." Nepgear apologized, voice filled with shame and excuses as she grabbed Uni by her back for a hug. "You acted so cold towards me recently; I guess I tried to keep you away from me because of it," she continued as she tightened her grip on the girl's back.
The tsundere was unable to contain her excitement and joy; she was totally like a lovely monster for her master. "I AM HAPPY TO BE WITH YOU!" The N-Gear once translated in a robotic voice all of Uni's sounds through the Monster Translator, making Nepgear grin.
The girl didn't know if it was sincere, real or due to her hypnosis, but she was glad to hear such beautiful words from her. "Me too~" Nepgear responded in a more joyful tone, her cheeks reddening. "I-I simply love you, you are so cute and gentle." She added as she kissed her friend on the cheek; an aura of pure honesty surrounded the girl, who looked like a light within the silent lab.
Uni just looked at the girl seemingly surprised, but with her current state it was impossible for Nepgear to make out her feelings. Realizing her own pity, she turned away. "Oh goodness! How shameful of me to have done that..." Her tone carried all the shame and desire she held back inside herself. She knew she had to help her friend, so she used the situation to her advantage.
Nepgear looked at her cuddly friend one last time, after all it had been under hypnosis for an hour so it should be fine, but for today she had enough playing with the tsundere. "I need to turn you back to your normal self." She said as she took the hypnosis gun and set it on the reverse effect and shot Uni, making her unconscious from the blow.
Nepgear thought to herself after seeing the results of that device on Uni and how she behaved, that it had become her top priority over her Monster Translator App; she should have been ashamed, but she didn't care anymore.
"I wonder if I can enhance my device..." she mumbled, with a questioning look on her face before suddenly smiling and coming up with an idea to improve her device even further. The mad scientist Nepgear seemed to regain some of her old self, with newfound madness in mind.
Minutes later, Uni woke up with a headache as if someone had hit her hard on it, while Nepgear was relieved for her to be safe, but she still received a strong shot from that device; the tinker girl thought of a way to make it less painful.
As Uni stood up, holding her head as she groaned in pain, "Gaaah...What happened here?" She asked, looking around at the scene of a battlefield within the lab, seeing various items and projects scattered across the floor.
As she expected, the subjects submitted to her device didn't seem to have retained any memory after returning to their normal state. To her relief, the girl said, "You don't remember? You were under the influence of the hypnosis gun and acted weird." Nepgear showed her friend the gun responsible for her hypnosis.
Upon looking at the stuff that Nepgear was fidgeting with, Uni's face showed signs of slight embarrassment as various memories from her hypnosis session flashed before her eyes. She spoke in a calm and shy tone, "Oh really? Then I am sorry if I did anything strange to you."
"To think that gun was an hypnosis tool..." The tsundere gave herself a smirk and a look.
As Nepgear observed how Uni seemed lost and stunned, she smiled to reassure her, "Don't worry, it was an accident, I reversed the effects; you seem a bit tired, you should rest for today." Her voice was comforting and helped ease the embarrassment of the tsundere.
Her blush grew stronger simply because of those memories that dwelled within her mind. "I-I guess you're right," she shyly said as she walked toward the exit, her hand trembling as she held the door handle. "I can't wait for my next hypnosis."
"Huh? What did you just say?" Nepgear asked in surprise, her eyes widening as she mused on having misunderstood the tsundere.
"Nothing, I'll see you later~" She sweetly hummed as she grinned, as if she were in ecstasy, before leaving the room, leaving a confused girl behind.
At home in her room, Uni couldn't stop smiling and giggling like a little girl as she rolled happily in her bed; she relived everything that had happened during her hypnosis and lied to Nepgear about her state.
She was blushing; it was her first time being so direct with her. She was so cute and loving towards her – she had never experienced anything like it in her life. Even the translation given by the N-Gear were true, Uni totally thought it for Nepgear.
She wanted to be back into hypnosis again and have all the attention of Nepgear once again and the sooner the better, the poor girl had totally fallen for Nepgear's treatment, being hugged, patted, fed and hearing loving words, she had lost her pride but for how long ? All of her matter now was "Nepgear doesn't hate me~"
Which one was the most crazy? A mad scientist or a tamed cold-hearted tsundere? They both fit perfectly together.
Bonus Chapter: Neptune's praises.
The next day, Nepgear attempted to enhance her hypnosis gun, but while she was working, someone interrupted her. "Neptune? What can I do for you, sis?" the girl asked as she put her device on the table, revealing a plan that appeared to show the steps to improve it.
The lazy goddess had bothered her sister for a favor as she grinned, as usual, her sister knew behind that smile hid a weird request. "Hi, Nep Jr., I have some problem with a monster and I was wondering..." She didn't finish her sentence on purpose to spark the curiosity in her naive little sister.
Seeing her sister gesture to express her curiosity, Neptune thought she had partially completed her goal. "So do you need my help to beat that monster?" Nepgear asked, worried it was a rare occurrence for her sister to require her aid.
"You almost got it! I need both your translation and hypnosis tools." The girl happily responded, breaking the silence as her voice echoed through the lab of the tinker girl.
Nepgear glanced at her sister with wide eyes in surprise, sweating profusely; she was certain she had never let on about the Monster Translator App to her. "How do you know about the Monster Translator App? I thought you only knew about the hypnosis gun, not this one! Are you spying on me?" Her emotions were mixed; she wasn't sure whether to feel happy about potentially having someone watching over her or panic.
Having predicted exactly what her sister would say, the CPU knew how to counter it, since her last adventure alone in her lab had led her to place cameras everywhere in the lab at Histoire's advice to check on her. "Nah, Aww you really thought I was a stalker, you just spoke in your sleep because you were so passionate about that tool." The childish goddess knew in reality everything about Nepgear's doings in the lab after the Processor Units accident.
Upon seeing her sister, Nepgear concealed her face with her hands, she blushed from shame. "Oh goodness! Now I'm talking in my sleep... How shameful..." Nepgear groaned in a sad tone, completely believing her sister who was playing along.
"Oh, and besides, I apologize for trying to hypnotize you with this gun," Nepgear begged for forgiveness; she had accidentally shot at Neptune while testing it, but it hadn't worked on her.
"Aww, don't worry; I'm too smart to be controlled. I'm so smart!" Neptune boasted as she embraced herself, bragging about her intelligence for escaping the gun.
As she pulled her hands away from her face, doubtful of her sister's intelligence, Nepgear spoke up in a veridical tone. "But I have done some research on why it hadn't worked on you, and it seems it is impossible for someone to be hypnotized by the gun if they are less intelligent than the creature set for the hypnosis.".
"Huh? What are you implying?" Neptune put on a dumb face, seemingly unaware of her sister's meaning.
"That means a dog is more intelligent because of it." She spoke in an awkward expression with a little smile.
"Ouch, Nep.Jr. It's kind of hurt, but no matter what, I will always have the plot armor with me." Neptune recovered from her sister's explanation.
Nepgear awkwardly giggled. "Sorry Sis, but why do you need both of my inventions?" The question delighted the older one.
Neptune suddenly had a serious expression as if her request was an emergency. "While I was wandering around in a dungeon, a monster sneaked up on me and stole an important item from me! If I could hypnotize it and make it speak, I'd get my item back." Neptune blurted out a fake story, totally random and far-fetched, but Nepgear naively believed it.
"It must be important for you to need my tools at this point, but..." Nepgear suddenly became unsure as she doubted the efficiency of her creations; the Uni's case was probably an accident and the translations were surely random. "I don't think my creations are enough for now, as they are still 'ongoing'." She concluded with a smile.
Now Neptune was almost to her goal; the final step was the praise. "Don't worry Nep.Jr," Neptune said, drawing the attention of her sister, "You know in the most dire situations, we can always count on your thinking skills. You never cease to amaze me." Her words started to affect the girl as she began to gradually smile, a little blush appearing on her cheeks.
"You are so smart; I am sure you used recycled items to make these things. I am so lucky to have you..., I love you, my dearest sister." Neptune landed the final blow with those words, and Nepgear was nearly in tears as her sister's words truly meant everything to her.
Nepgear was surrounded by an aura of happiness as she was humming "I can't believe it! Sis praised me..." She soon fell into Neptune's trap, saying "Fine, I'll loan you my devices~" The girl soon handed over all the demanded items to her sister.
"Thank you, Nepgear~," she said as she waved goodbye to her sister. The winning girl walked over to the door and whispered, "As a main character, I know all your weaknesses. I'll have some fun now~" She left the room, humming softly behind her.
Neptune was the main character who took her work seriously and used a hypnosis item for the good of the world...No, she was the complete opposite; she was lazy and would use the creation of her naive sister for fun. And was ranked by her own sister as being less intelligent than a dogoo.
An hour later, Nepgear received a call from Uni. "H-Hey, Nepgear," she stuttered. "Is it normal for my sister to act like a dogoo?" Her sister's behavior was now like a dogoo at work and had asked for an explanation to her friend. But what could be the reason?
Nepgear checked on one of the computers she had connected to her N-Gear, and saw all the translations provided the Monster Translator app from Noire's voice. On the screen, the translation was less innocent than Uni's, especially since words were censored. The young candidate just blushed and wanted to take a cold shower.
Upon realizing she had been fooled by her sister, she looked down in shame. "Goodness! Neptune tricked me yet again." She sighed as her hand rested on a piece of paper on the table titled the "Shape-Shifting Device." How would her creation be used in the future?
