Lisa was over it, so damned over it and now she wondered if it was all going to work out the way she planned. She sure was pissy, that's for sure.

It was late, almost midnight as the safehouse sat silently. Her men were on duty, those not asleep and she had a woman in the other room fixing food. Yes, she preferred men working under her. She did NOT like women but this one was OK since she was ugly. Lisa did not like competition.

She was sitting in the living room in a high backed armchair, the glass of whiskey in her hand was growing warm, even with the ice and so she rose to charge the glass, pouring more whiskey, then adding three large ice cubes. She then let the glass whirl in her hand, the satisfying tinkle of the ice made her happy, like a child with a music box.

She walked back towards the chair, glancing back to find the lights had gone off in the kitchen. She was now alone.

She settled back in her chair, looking at the flames that seemed a bit stronger now. She did not stoke it or bank it so maybe the sap in the wood had finally reached boiling point? As she sat pondering this, she suddenly got a weird feeling, turning her head to look at the other chair on the other side of the little table stand her drink was now resting on.

"Hello Sweetie."

"Holy shit Johnty, how the fuck did you get in here?" she blurted, then laughed softly "You almost gave me a coronary."

"I doubt that" he said with a soft grin, settling back more, then lifting his boot onto his knee to show off his gorgeous arse lines.

"What do you want" she said as she lifted her glass to sip from.

"I know it's late and I know you like this time to think but I wanted to play devil's advocate" John grinned happily like it was a huge joke, "You know me darlin; I can't help myself."

"What do you want, it's late" she said once more.

"The storm is coming" John said as he rose "I don't think you have the right gear for the coming inclement weather my dear. Best get your coat of armour on."

"Don't you worry, I will wear my wellies dear" she laughed, waving the glass towards the door in an effort to make him leave.

John paused in the doorway and looked back before saying softly "when it rains fire and brimstone sweetie…. Your footwear will not save you. Mine might save me but… I am fabulous after all."

She laughed as she turned to reply but he was gone in the dark.

Funny bugger.

It was not until later that she wondered where he had come from, he had not been part of her inner team. She decided she would ask in the morning who had cleared him past the front gates.

.

.

"She will move tomorrow; she ritualistically moves every three days" Toshiko was talking and as she tapped her tablet the sound of a horse neighing through the open window had Jack glancing out to wave with silly wriggly fingers at said horse. The morning was crisp but fair.

"Cariad, we are almost done, and you can go play with your horsy soon" Ianto said, turning back to Toshiko "Please continue Tosh."

"She has all her men around her now, the bugs John set while there are a boon. So far, I have the address of where she is going so I can get there today and set it up for her… by the time they get there it will be like a mouse entering a trap. The GPS we placed on her cars during the roadblock breathalyser testing not only made it easy to find her, but we can track her with no cell phones at all in the car cavalcade."

"More like a fucking mountain lion ready to crew its own foot off to kill ya before you can bang it on the head" Owen muttered, then shrugged as everyone turned to look at him so he added "You know she is."

"We have a plan; we have a way forward and now I think it is the time to finish this bullshit." Ianto said forcefully, then shot his cuffs, showing his discomfort in the loss of temper. So rare.

"Come on, let's go pat some horses" Jack said as he scooped up the little gurl who had been wandering past with those cute little headphones on, little kitty ears on them and as Jack lifted them off her, he was surprised to hear classical music. Ianto was rubbing off on her it seems.

He headed outside with Ianto following, the little girl soon happily petting the massive horse's head a it leaned over the fence to allow her some contact. The horses loved her so.

"Jack, we are coming to a critical time, this has to go like clockwork, and I know you do not want to hear this but… you and Alice must stay here with Andy and Rhys" Ianto said firmly.

Rhys?" Jack swung to see Gwen's ex walking across the yard with Andy, both of them in deep conversation and he turned back to Ianto with a wide gape of his mouth.

"Well… after Gwen he needed something to do and Andy… well. He is a good listener. They met during your trial and… well." Ianto shrugged.

"Huh" Jack snorted then started to laugh.

Seems they had all traded up huh?

As the little girl stood with her bare feet in the long grass, the breath of the massive horse blessing her and a loving parental holding each hand, she closed her eyes and giggled.

Safe.
