Naruto stared out at the wall of the North Pole as they got closer to his ship, or as the ship got closer to the halls, he supposed. He looked back at his warriors as they prepared for battle. He took time to meet each of them with his eyes and take a good look at them. Each of them he had known so long it almost felt like a lifetime. Naruto took another deep breath of the fresh ocean air as he prepared to meet with Zhao and his fleet. As he came closer he lowered himself down on a rowboat to move over to the other's boat before they got too close to the walls.

"Zhao, you're looking as good as ever." Naruto started as he met with Zhao on his deck.

"Naruto, what a pleasure to see you here, unfortunately I won't be needing your or your men's help. We are fine as it is." Zhao responded with a smirk that rivaled that of the Cheshire Cat.

"Too bad the Fire Lord ordered us to attack together then." Naruto responded while dropping his voice to dangerous levels. He hated arrogant people, it always ended in death.

"Sure, do whatever makes you happy." He responded as he passed Naruto. "Besides, there's someone I want you to meet again." He pointed to the bottom of the bridge as Iroh walked towards them.

"Iroh, where is Zuko?" Naruto questioned as he looked around. If Iroh was here he wouldn't have left Zuko behind.

"He has unfortunately passed in a fire that took out our boat." Iroh responded as he glanced to a higher up on the boat. Naruto closed his eyes and tilted his head back before reaching out with his chakra to feel for Zuko energy. He found it in the man Iroh had glanced at. He smiled to himself as he realized what was happening. Someone had tried to kill Zuko and failed. He then steeled himself once more before looking Iroh in the eyes and responding.

"That is quite tragic indeed. I'm sorry for your loss, but I hope you will open your eyes up to what you could gain." As he spoke the second half he looked directly at Zuko and he could tell he saw him by the way the shoulder straightened a micro inch. "With that, I must go prepare my people for battle." Naruto patted Zuko on the way out as he passed him on his way to his boat back across.

As the ship neared the wall boulders of ice and storms of rain hit the ships as they came within range of the water benders. Everyone scrambled to get to cover as death rained down from above, but Naruto just melted the ice as it came. Something he had learned before his spy years was that ice pieces that water benders made could be melted as soon as they took their focus off of maintaining it in that form. Soon the rest of the fire benders on his ships were doing the same as they realized the strategy behind the defense. The non-benders and anyone who could be spared were loading and launching the boulders that were breaking down the wall to the Northern Water Tribe.

A few minutes into the attack the Sky Bison Naruto had seen on Kyoshi island flew above them and a small boy ran across some of Zhao's ships destroying the catapults in silly ways or just using air bending.

"So that's the Avatar." Naruto thought to himself as he observed the boy. That's all he was, a boy. A boy with too much responsibility on his shoulders for someone his age.

"General, what should we do about the Avatar?" A woman yelled at him as another one of Zhao's ships boarded from the air.

"Nothing, if he comes here to destroy our catapults than do something, but for now leave him alone. I don't want any of you distracted and get yourselves killed." The woman nodded before relaying the orders to the rest of the fleet. A shadow passed in front of him as the sun set and he looked up to see the Sky Bison flying back to the wall. As he looked up he met the boy's eyes and the Avatar's widened with fear before he coached his Sky Bison to go faster. Naruto let out another sigh as the ships began to lower their anchors to rest for the night.

"That's all the attack we are going to commit today. Everyone rest up so we can start again and dawn." Naruro ordered as he returned to his room to rest up himself. It would be a long day tomorrow.

Just as the sun began to set the boats broke through the wall on the second day of the siege. The Avatar had stopped fighting on the ships as the day dragged on. Naruto was curious what the meaning behind that move was about. As he fought water benders he spotted Zhao rushing up the hill towards the top of the North Pole. Iroh was quickly, but silently, following after him and Naruto decided it was in his best interest to follow the pair.

"Keep the men fighting, but if things start to go South, get out of here, whether I'm on the boat or not." Naruto ordered as he ran after Iroh and Zhao to the top of the Northern Pole. It was easy to follow them as they took out the benders in their way before he even had to do anything and eventually they arrived at a little door on the side of the glacier. It was warm enough in the little room that Naruto no longer had to regulate his body temperature to keep frostbite from setting in.

The area turned red as the moon changed to be the same color. "Dammit Zhao." Naruto cursed as he rushed over to the pond in the middle of the room where Iroh was confronting him. "He's right Zhao, we all need the moon spirit. I will join him in his vengeance if you mess with a fin. Let it go." Naruto spoke with fury in his voice.

Nothing happened until the Avatar and his group arrived to back up the pair. There were a few scared and confused glances sent his way that he ignored as he focused on Zhao. His face tightened before it lessened and he let the fish back into the pond. Naruto relaxed an inch and that was his downfall as Zhao unleashed a fire attack that hit the water. The world became dark as the moon spirit died and Naruto snarled. Iroh charged Zhao, but was stopped by his guards. Naruto on the other hand was able to grab him and tackle him to the ground.

"What were you thinking! I knew your arrogance would get us all killed. You've doomed the world." Naruto shouted as he unleashed a fire attack that instantly turned Zhao to ash as his guards escaped. Iroh was kneeling above the water trying to get the fish to breathe once more before hanging his head. "Is it dead?" Naruto asked as he came over to Iroh as the rest of the people jumped, having forgotten he was here.

"Yes." Iroh said simply as he watched the fish float on the water.

"What got into Zhao, don't get me wrong I hated the guy, but to lose it like that." Naruto just shook his head as he looked at the fish.

"Probably the same reason he tried to burn me in that fire." Zuko spoke as he walked up to the group as well, "You knots could use some work buddy." He said as he handed the rope back to Sokka and Sokaa yelled about how he wasn't his buddy. "ANyway, what are you doing here Naruto?"

"Orders from the big man himself. I was to help Zhao in the siege against the North and capture the Avatar." Naruto spoke nonchalantly.

"So why have you done the opposite of one and not even tried the other?" Zuko pushed as he looked over to the area he thought the remains of Zhao were.

"Zhao's arrogance was going to get himself or others killed if not both, so he needed to be taken care of, as for the other one…" NAruto paused and looked into Zuko's eyes. Zuko took a few steps back before Naruto smiled and continued his sentence. "The Avatar is needed to end this war of power without more blood shed. If it were easier than that I would have done it myself, but all I can do is make sure more people don't die in the Mad King's rage." Naruto looked over to Zuko and gave a small smile, "Besides that's your thing."

No one spoke for a while before the Avatar walked towards the pond. Naruto heard a few confused, "Aang"s from his friends so he assumed that was the boy's name.

"This ends now." Aang spoke as he sank into the water as his eyes glowed. The water then bubbled and glowed a bright blue hue as the Sea spirit took over his body and charged at those who had caused its friend to die. Naruto closed his eyes as he listened to men be killed and thrown about and prayed to the sea spirit to let his people escape. As he did he sensed the moon spirit behind him and he turned to see a white haired girl being held by Aang's friend.

"You have part of the moon's spirit in you." Narutp spoke in shock as he stared at her.

"I do, perhaps it's time I gave it back." She spoke as the boy tried to stop her. She stood in the water with the moon fish in her hands just as Iroh and Aang had before the moon's eyes glowed and she fell to the ground. As the moon appeared and the boy cried over her body, Naruto caught the eye of Zuko and Iroh and motioned for them to follow him. They made a silent escape out the hidden room, down the city streets, and out the walls just as the sea spirit calmed and released Aang from its hold. The trio found a broken piece of wood to float to Naruto's ship as they sat in silence.

"You're against the war?" Zuko asked as he started at the wooden floor they were on.

"I'm against this war for power. The war before that this one has merged into was for understanding and to break down barriers between people. That war I believe in, but this one." Naruto paused as he shook his head.

"You are still a mystery to me." Iroh spoke as he looked at both of the younger men on the make ship raft. Naruto looked over to Zuko to see him nodding his head before biting his lip and thinking it over.

"Once I get dropped off, try to make your way to the Earth Kingdom capital and tell the King that you were sent by me. He will tell you everything that he knows about me. To get to him tell as shopkeeper named Jeff that Naruto says you need to see the King." Naruto made up his mind as they neared his boat. He got ready to jump off and swim over to the boat before turning to Zuko. "Remember to live in a way that makes you proud, not anyone else. After all, you are stuck with you for the rest of your life." With that Naruto jumped and swam over to his ship leaving Zuko to think about his words.

Once he was close enough to the boat he fired a tower of fire into the air to tell his men that he was back and to let him up. The people rejoiced to see him again and he couldn't help but smile as a towel and blanket were immediately thrown over his shoulder and he was ushered inside to warm up.
