Within the confinements of a building within the D.C area lies Captain Gordon Denton, who is simply awaiting in a lone room with a Tv blasting news out of its speakers as he sat in a chair with he's hands gripping onto the Newspaper, even if the paper he hold was the same it was a few days ago, the first few words were always the same.
"US-SOVIET COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN, BERIA REMAINS SILENT"
He growled as he folded the newspaper to the side as he didn't need to read the rest to figure out what led to this god forsaken breakdown.
Lavrentiy Beria, The leader of the Soviet Union ever sense 1953, after the bastard Joseph Stalin died due to either having an heart attack or having a stroke, he didn't remember how he died but a dead communist was a good communist.
But that fucker Beria was nothing more than a complete warmonger and he's actions ever sense he's ascendance to the primer has showed it.
Aggression on Turkish territory.
Threatening on invading the Western portion of West Berlin.
Disturbing Waters on Occupied Japan after the Communists won in Korea. Alongside with the Chinese also threatening the newly annex territory of Taiwan after overthrowing the corrupt Military Dictatorship that caused the so much suffering toward Taiwanese civilians.
And now with the Cuban Communists who are now in procession of the newly acquired nukes from the Soviets. Many of which are the most recent created Tsar Bomba who is considered to be the most destructive nuke the Soviets have in their arsenal.
To which another factor was that the Soviets have massed produced the damn bomb multiple times, while the US had no leads on how many to be exact, it was a big estimate that it would be world ending. Which was enough to cause an atmosphere that was of fear and panic within the US government. Fear and Panic that easily could've been avoided if the fucking British and French government had bothered to check their waters to prevent this occasion when Kennedy had asked them to.
The mighty United Kingdom and French Fourth Republic. One led by a English Imperial Opportunist Prime Minister Enoch Powell and French under a Military Dictatorship after the previous government collapsed due to social unrest to a whole list of reasons that he hasn't remember but if he had to guess, it had to to do with hard purges against any left winged politician to Soviet sympathizers.
The two nations were nothing more than a prime example of European colonialism as they made it their complete duty to hold on onto their colonies to whatever deems necessary. Which, just by saying that it means that it hasn't gone by the books for them. Especially after their botched attempted of capturing the Suez Canal and subdoing Egypt in the process. And their eventual expulsion from NATO which led to their dissolution of the alliance.
Before the Suez Canal Crisis even began, relations between the US and the two Europeans powers was always tense at best, as the US never say eye to eye with the policies that the two European powers had, wether it was making West Germany into a second Weimar Republic, threatening to invade Falangist Spain multiple for a large amounts of French collaborators seeking refuge in said state and Spain refusing to send them to the French. And lastly, the American lack of commitment in the European theater World War 2.
When Pearl Harbor was surprised attacked by the Japanese Empire in the early week of December 1941, the President Joseph P. Kennedy formally declared war on the Japanese Empire and its Allies in the pacific, and only in the pacific as to Kennedy it wasn't in the American interest nor to sacrifice their soldiers to a foreign conflict that doesn't threatened American sovereignty.
And so, the entire bull work of the American industry and soldiers were entirely focused on crushing the Japanese in the pacific and Asia while leaving the British Empire and the Soviets to fend for themselves against Himmlers Germany. No matter how many times did Churchill plead or request for American assistance, the US simply didn't acknowledge it as wasn't a priority as much as the Japanese.
The American intervention into the European theater only came in September 5th 1945 after the Japanese Cities of Hiroshima, Kokura, Nagasaki, Kyoto, Osaka, Niigata were completely obliterated from J. Robert Oppenheimer Nuclear bombs, that's when the US turned its attention to Europe, under President Harry S. Truman.
The World War officially ended with a Hanover and Nuremberg being wiped completely from the map and the Wehrmacht lead by Hans Speidel, couped the Nazi's who then unconditional surrendered. Finally marking the end of World War 2 and sparking the beginning of a new war of a different kind with the Soviets.
But even with the Soviets being the much bigger threat than the two of them, the British and French had apparently made it their only set priority for their colonies instead against the fight against communism.
If the utter failure of the Korean War was anything to indicate, the Cold War wasn't going with the US's favor, and the European Duals wasn't helping them in the slightest, to which bring some level of comfort that the British and French were kicked out of NATO because he could only think that instead the two being ready to sending their troops to the meat grinder in Africa to preserve their colonies and getting caught off guard when the Soviets cause a sudden invasion into their lands and getting overran. Especially towards the British, if Operational Sea Lion was anything to go by, even if the Operation was short sighted and it had catastrophic results for the Germans, it showed that the British Isles weren't as hard to invade to which the British had led to thought everyone.
And the current status of their colonies world wide? It was a estimate to show that the two European powers were already losing control over their colonial possessions. The countryside of their African colonies were a constant state of social unrest that the only cities that didn't experience any violence were a very select few. Indochina was nothing more than a absolute hellhole for the French as they had to struggle against Ho Chi Minh's forces as it shown that to the French leaving the colony to focus on Algeria as while it's the only one they have some control. And for the British?
Well the only thing Gordon heard that it was in a similar state to that of France but somewhat more stable, except for their "most prized colony". The last he heard of the British Raj was that 90% wasn't even in British control as it's either in complete anarchy, under local warlords or in control of the Indian National Congress. Who knew that executing Gandhi was a terrible idea.
He would've kept thinking about the absolute mess that the two European powers were if they weren't knocked to the side as the door suddenly opened to reveal a presiding officer in the other side. Captain Denton simply sighed before standing up while straightening himself up and saluting at the officer to whom he did it like wise.
The Officer the spoke up to him. "Captain Gordon Denton, your court marshal trail is postponed until further notice, you are to return to your unit in Okinawa immediately." He said as he turned around to leave.
. . .
. . .
. . .
"What?"
Denton blurted it out with a snarled which immediately caught the attention of the presiding officer whom then again turned with an eyebrow raised and tired look. "You seem, disappointed?" He said with a questioning look.
"Disappointed?" Denton said trying to clarify what the officer told him. "I am far from fucking disappointed, I was ordered to move here for a designated court marshal trial for a reason I don't understand and only to wait 9 days to be told to fuck off?" He claimed angrily.
The presiding officer only looked at the captain as he was utterly baffled at what he just heard. And before Captain could utter another word, the officer spoke first with a stern tone. "Your on thin ice Gordon".
Gordon only looked at him with visibly confusion and frustration on he's eyes, the officer then sighed and continued. "The reason why you were here to be court marshaled was due to you not following direct orders from Colonel Lewin after he told you to stand down after your company fired upon Japanese protesters." He said with slight irritation on the end of he's sentence.
"My men didn't fire upon those Nips for all fun and games." Gordon simply retorted. "One of those nips shot one of my men on the ground, and as far as my men told me, the nips helped that murderer escape, so as far as I was considered, the Nips were assisting on assassinating troops stationed. So what I did was justified."
"One Japanese shooter didn't mean you have the confirmation to shoot up protesters in the vicinity" The officer said with he's cool beginning to fall off. "Your company was responsible for the death of over 45 civilians with countless more being injured in the hundreds. Some whom were in their homes not being apart of the protest until you ordered your soldiers to barge into apartment homes and dragged them out for beating or execution! If Brigadier General Tibbet's haven't ordered you to stand down and you kept on this rampage, then you would've been executed for inciting genocide against the Japanese population!"
Denton simply glared at the officer before him as he did the same back at him as began to continue abit with some of its cool returned. "The fact that your in a rank of a captain after all the grotesque things you have done in your military career not only astounds me but it utterly baffled me that you were able to get to the rank of Captain and keep that rank."
Gordon knew what the officer was referring to and he could tell that this officer in particular must've done he's homework on him just so he can get a better idea on who Gordon Denton was, and judging by the expression and the comment he made, it didn't particularly paint him in a good light.
The presiding officer then simply sighed before speaking once more. "But, recalling all of that. The reason why your court marshal trail is being postponed until further notice is that the Military Chain of command and Brigadier General Tibbet's is willing to sweep this incident under the rug. However, with the pretense that you will control your temper and will be approaching problems with a more calculative approach." The officer simply said.
Denton didn't say anything as he stood in complete silence, he's gaze was only hardened and the officer show it, he clearly wasn't happy about it, but seeing he's track record, it's most likely that he'll stick to it, he may be a reckless captain, but he was a loyal follower.
The officer then turned around when Denton lowered he's gaze toward the floor, he walked towards the door before looking once more at the Captain. "Remember, you been stuck in that rank for the past 20 years, this is your last official warning, your on thin ice as it is, so don't fuck it up." He said before closing the door behind him.
The captain remained still as he begin to ingest all of the information that he was given by the presiding officer, and he didn't like it one bit.
Go soft? Is that what the presiding officer really told him to do? Approach with a softer tone. That might has well be just handing over their guns and just hoping for the best that they won't have a change of heart and shoot them in the backs.
The 40 year old Captain hands then balled into fists as they bang to shake. And the warning? The Military Chain of command could shove it up their ass for all he cared, he wasn't going to let the joke of the Geneva Convention, they cou-. . .
. . .
. . .God damnit.
He then unballed he's fists and proceeded to rest he's hands on the chair's shoulders and sighed in slight frustration. He didn't like it, It's like he's dealing with a bunch of idiots who thought that gaining the hearts of the people was the best solution. And he was once in belief of this, but the occupation of Japan showed other wise to this theory.
He never liked the Japanese, not in the slightest. The Pacific front and he's duty of being part of keeping the peace in the further occupation of Japan was a testament to that, they were like wild animals who once believed they were the conquerers of Asia who were destined to be rulers of the continent, to now being a bunch of rats who's island are now exposed by the Communists who now almost rule all of East Asia with the US only there to defend them. Bunch of ungrateful pieces of shit.
But he just couldn't understand why. Why was he so insistent on going soft? He wasn't there to experience the unrelenting banzai charges in the Battle of Iwo Jima, He wasn't there to hellish experience in the Battle of Okinawa, he wasn't there to experience how it felt to be at the mercy of such horrid animals when they butchered and ate he's Squad right infront of him,he wasn't there to have victory taken away by a bunch of Chinese scum, he wasn't there to and he wasn't there to feel the retreat from Busan to leave the Korean Peninsula in complete communist control, and he wasn't there to experience the hellish occupation of the damn islands.
He wasn't there at all.
He then promptly shook as he gripped on tighter on the chair's shoulder before taking a few calming breaths did he firmly stood up as he looked at the clock slowly as its ticks continued on.
He swore, being soft and acting to care will be the downfall of this god forsaken nation if it continues its deeds.
He momentarily closed he's eyes deep in thought before opening them once more to him raising an eyebrow in confusion.
The clock has stopped ticking, and it appeared to be frozen? Come to think it, he couldn't hear anything. He looked up to the side to see the Tv completely frozen of a news reporter looking down on the table at a piece of paper. Completely Unmoving, almost like a statue.
Gordon then felt, odd. Almost like there was something crawling within he's skin. He looked around the eirely silent room and he felt like, he was already been here. Multiple times.
That. That didn't make any sense, he only came into this room 9 days ago, he never once came into this room in he's lifetime yet. He felt like he was here, this exact same spot, and..the exact same conversation?
But before he could even dwell on that thought, he a loud blaring siren reached he's eardrums with the siren being loud enough for Denton to cover both he's ears for the blasting sound to not damage them. It was so loud that it felt that it coming from everywhere at once.
But this siren felt, familiar as well, then he felt some amount of fear creeping up to him. It was like it was trying to warn him of something, something that he couldn't understand at that very moment.
Then, coming from the windows, there was a sudden blast that shut off the sirens, Denton turned to windows only to be met with a massive shockwave that made him get throw back into the chair breaking it when made contact.
As he was dizzied from the shockwave, he then tasted it, metal. He tasted metal, and just like that. He felt like he froze himself as he only knew one thing.
D.C was gone.
And he felt the wave of death slowly approaching as the temperature in the room began to skyrocket as he felt he's skin beginning to burn, and as he looked up to the window, he saw the wave of fierier death slowly approaching him, almost in a mocking way as it soon went through the wall that included the windows.
He didn't close he's eyes at all as he felt them burn as the wave of flaming death approached him ever so mockly. And when it finally reached him, he's entire vision went dark.
Location: Liberation State of Korea, Classified
Date: February 25th, 1995
Time: 4:30 am
Gordon eyes shot open immediately upon waking up to a ringing noise. He eyes darted towards the alarm clock, he then moved he's left hand and promptly shut it off as he laid in he's chair in slight confusion.
What? How. He could've sworn that he just in. . .
. . .
. . .oh.
It happened again. The repeating condition.
The Lieutenant General then slowly placed he's hands onto he's forehead to collectivize he's thoughts and at the remembrance the condition once more.
So far, this condition never came up again for a long time, 10 years at best. And it was slightly worse than last time as it didn't include the burning of he's skin. It was like the entire purpose of those "dreams" is just to mock him for surviving the bombs when others didn't. And each dream had a worse outcome than the last.
But, he knew that he wasn't the only one who has this condition, a multitude of other Generals who had experienced the nukes has this condition, each different depending who the person, but the condition was always different for them, it was never the same scenario, except for him.
While he had question for this reasoning, he promptly chose to ignore it as he didn't view it as a good investment of he's time and effort. But he did know what he had to do when the condition return at least once.
The Denton then reached towards a drawer that was in the side of he's desk and opened it and reach down inside without looking, he then grabbed something plastic and pull it out while closing the drawer as he looked at what he grabbed.
Unmarked Medication, the only ever medication that anyone from North America gets due to the bombs massively effecting their immune system that their effectively immune from any sorts of virus or bacteria known to man. But this medication helps. Or he hopes so.
Popping it open he then takes a handful much before closing the lid it once more before laying down the empty plastic bottle onto the table before moving he's gas mask slightly up and he promptly swallowed the pills and putting the gas mask in place.
While he didn't feel any different at the current moment, he could only hope that it would go away as soon as possible.
But now, work was needed to be done, and he had to remind himself what was suppose to be done today. So he looked upon two pieces of documents and promptly picked up the nearest close to him, and looked at the title of the document.
To whom he immediately placed it down when realizing what it was. He wanted to ball he's hands into fists, but he kept he's cool. Yes, he didn't like what it was told in the document, but that doesn't mean he won't follow through like an idiot as it made common sense.
The Military Junta can't forever bomb China back into the Stone Age, it was practically impossible. And even with he's dedication to keeping General LeMays legacy alive as much as possible and to keep he's plan of the subhuman Chinese to return as a backwater society as they destined to be for contributioning to the cause of expanding Utopian Communism. It would only drain on resources against the rebellions in the Military Territories and the inevitable conflict with the Eurasians once more and it was already signed by both General Kennith and General Sanborn. Both respectively in charge of the Military Territory of Nippon and the Military Territory of Taiwan respectively, and both were in charge of keeping the bombing raids as they both station and fuel the aircraft, so he's say won't mean jack shit. But at least they have caused massive amounts of damage to the Chinese that they'll never have a war footing ever again.
Gordon's eyes was then laid onto another document that was perfectly still on the table. He didn't quite remember taking a look at it, so the most logically standpoint was to simple read what it was. He then opened the document. What caught he's attention right away was one singular term.
CODE MUTANTEM
He never once heard of this term once in he's life. But sensing it was something that only the ones to know are the Military Cabinet or the CIA, he didn't question it as he knew the Cabinet knew best. As so he continued to read what it had inside.
And the more he read, the more he was both in understanding and both confused. What it said in the document was just what to do when an actual, mutant was discovered, it had procedures, regulations, immediate orders when such an occurrence happens, it was the usually and overall pretty much understandable considering the current circumstances on this world. But he confused of why it sent now, or possibly that it was sent by mistake.
And it has to do with the simple fact that it has been 30 years sense the initial start of nuclear war, and there has never been a report of actual mutants that doesn't take a form of a human. And even so, why would they give it out just up till now? Did. Something happen back in the continental Americas?
He then closed the document and laid it down onto the table before weighing his options for the moment. But before he could even think for a second, he then received a call from the telephone. He put he's hand on it and picked it up and placed it on he's ear. "Speak" He started with a calm but stoic tone.
"Lieutenant General sir" The man on the other side spoke, in a clear Korean accent. "Scientist Soo-Jin Sung has request your presence immediately"
The Lieutenant General rose an highbrow when he this, Soo-Jin was a decorated scientist within the ranks of the Korean State. Her occupation was based on the study of the human body and such, whom she fit perfectly well into studying of the effects of chemical weapons and studying Homo Sapien atomis, who was majority North Americans apart of the Military Junta due to it being ground zero for the large amounts of nukes launched onto the Northern continent of the Americas.
"What's the situation?" He stated firmly, he didn't expect much, at most he expected the man in the other side to say they made a breakthrough on the study of the human body or maybe something on chemical weapons. But what was said next made him freeze.
"Sir, it's related to Code Mutantem, a patrol unit was ambushed by some of them, they have captured one alive."

Well. This is technically it for the data for now, just remember that is incline to change at some point depending on stuff. Sorry that it wasn't much of a MGE chapter, but a glorified lore chapter, I can guarantee to a certain extent that the next chapter will be about them, except as a fair warning, it will not be in any chronically order as it'll all be about the MGE monsters troubles in this new world.
Also I apologize if the beginning was bad persay, could properly word how it'd look like to be face first in a nuclear blast, if you have any suggestions on how to fix it. Then am all ears.
And two side notes. before I leave for I can focus making an official map of this world. I would take any ideas if you have any. And I would appreciate any reviews. And I can't guarantee when a chapter will come up, but do expect one chapter per month. As much as I despise that thinking thought.
But cya mates, have a good one.
