Year 2975
Crying can be heard as two babies are seen in individual baskets on the doorstep of an orphanarium one is a girl with a single eye and a tuft of purple hair in a pink bow and wearing a pink onesie she has a note pinned to her blanket written in an alien language, the other is a boy with somewhat spiky dark red hair and a monkey like tail he wears a black onesie of unknown material he too has a note attached to his blanket but it is a mixture of alien and English, the baby boy sneezed causing an unknown energy to shoot from his tiny fist and hit the door leaving a scorch mark and getting the attention of the warden running the place.
Year 2985
The baby girl now eleven years old named Leela is seen sitting at a desk she has neck length hair tied in pigtails and wears a customised monocle and braces in her teeth, she wears a white polo shirt and a blue plaid skirt, she is currently trying to study from a maths book but keeps getting distracted by the noise of children playing outside, just as she's about to get up and go to the window the door to the room starts opening and she quickly makes herself look busy only to relax when she hears the voice of her only friend the baby boy now named Evander who is also eleven years old, his dark magenta hair is styled in a faux hawk monolid eyes with sangria red irises a small hero nose and sharp lips he wears a black T-shirt and red shorts with his monkey tail wrapped around his waist "relax it's just me, I managed to snag a box of cookies from the geezers office" he places a red cardboard box on the desk and removes the lid "happy birthday Leela" said girls cheeks glow red as she grabs a cookie and nibbles on it.
Year 2990
Leela now sixteen is sitting on a ratty looking bed watching her only friend and secret crush as he stuffs the few items he owns into a pillowcase "I'm going to make something of myself out there Leela and when I do... " he turns to face her a grin on his face "I promise I'll come find you and we'll have everything we ever wanted" he walked over to her and placed his hand on top of her head causing her face to flush "I'll come back I promise" before she could muster the courage to speak he had already pried open the window and jumped out.
Present (Year 3000)
Evander was aboard the Nimbus making his way to the bridge as the ship had stopped abruptly, he arrived and walked behind captain Zapp Brannigan who was casually talking about destroying a delivery class robotic spacecraft that was making its way towards them peacefully, he shared a look with Kif Kroker the first officer and the captains slave in everything but name both rolled their eyes while simultaneously thinking 'jackass', while trying to tune out the idiots monologue he thought of Leela and wondered how she was doing and about how long it took him to be in a position to finally go back to earth and find her he wondered what she would think of him now if she..., he was however brought out of his thoughts by Kif's voice "Sir they've docked with us and have come aboard" he watched as Zapp gained a mournful expression "then I've risked all and lost" before getting up from his seat and making his way towards the door "Kif, I'll be in the escape pod, if that wicker chair I like survives the slaughter have it sent to my P.O box" as he reached the door it opened revealing two people and a robot, Evander recognised one of them immediately 'Leela!' He watched as Zapp hid behind the comm system chair while Leela and her companions walked to stand before Kif "hello i'm Leela captain of the planet express delivery ship, we've come aboard to plead for your assistance" Kif made to answer "well if there's anything-" "I'm in command here" only for Zapp to force his way between Kif and Leela he puffed up his chest trying to look dashing "Zapp Brannigan, has my fame preceded me, or was I too quick for it? " Evander felt like gagging but was ultimately shocked when Leela actually fell for it looking like a schoolgirl with a crush "oh, not at all I'm just so, uh...really thrilled to meet you" Zapp reached out for a handshake before taking her hand in both of his and adopting what he thought was a seductive expression "You're an impressive piece of captain, beautiful and deadly a potent combination" Leela actually swooned "you don't mean that" "but I do I doubt I've seen more than three or four captains sexier than you, and only one who was deadlier" as he was about to kiss her hand (and die by Evanders wrath) Leela's human companion interrupted I heard one time, you single handedly defeated a horde of rampaging somethings in the something something system" Zapp stood straight releasing Leela's hand in the process "the killbots? A trifle, it was simply a matter of outsmarting them" he bragged while pointing to his head "wow, I never would have thought of that" the guy actually sounded impressed, Zapp made his way back to his captains chair while continuing his "brilliant" story "you see, killbots have a pre-set kill limit knowing their weakness I sent wave after wave of my own men at them until they reached their limit and shut down" he turned to face them hands behind his back "Kif, show them the medal I won" he demanded causing Kif to sigh before pointing to the only medal on Zapp's uniform.
Leela rolled her eye at this quickly realising that Zapp Brannigan did not deserve his reputation, as she was about to explain why her and her crew were there she spotted someone standing nearby he was tall just over six feet, had magenta hair in a medium length fauxhawk monolid eyes with sangria red irises a small hero nose and sharp lips, he wore a black sleeveless body suit made of a stretchy yet durable looking material over which he wore full torso armour with pauldrons attached, on his forearms were what looked like black warmers, to finish his outfit he had a black cape with a burgundy lining and a magenta coloured fur belt around his waist (Bardocks DBS outfit with king vegeta's cape) he was smiling warmly at her and she had a nagging feeling she knew him.
