... Kinda funny how this was gonna become a Highschool DxD story before I ended up rewatching SMBZ.

Within the Cracks of Time, a dimension in which all timelines were catalogued, a battle of epic proportions waged. The dimension shook from thunderous clashes. Beams of energy exploded on impact, and a demonic roar of sheer, unprecedented rage shook the very fabric of reality itself. As two more beams collided, two warriors emerged from the smoke, releasing out pants of exertion. The larger of the two snarled in outrage at the defiant warrior standing before him.

The monster appeared to be a mix of some reptile and demon, with leathery blue and white skin, sharp fangs and violent red eyes with black sclera. Black spikes jutted out of his shoulders and forehead, a long flowing mane of spikey crimson head reached the small of his back, and a long tail cracked across the air like a whip. The creature snarled, demonic ki exploding from his body like dark fire, practically unending.

Demigra, the Demon God glared at the Future Warrior in outrage. "This is impossible... a lowly Earthling, standing up to me?!"

Standing before him with a defiant look of furious determination was the Future Warrior, otherwise known as Rizotto. With messy dark brown hair, bright sapphire eyes, and tan skin. Dressed in dark blue Capsule Corp. branded jacket with rolled up sleeves, a black muscle shirt, matching fingerless gloves, dark grey pants with several belts and flaps, and crimson combat boots. The Earthling let out a tired breath and settled into an appropriate battle stance.

"Yeah, I've been hearing that a lot..." Rizotto smirked. "Never underestimate a human's grit! I'm not gonna let you destroy history or the universe." his glare sharpened as he felt the ki within him spark to life, bubbling under his skin. "You're dying here."

"You... you...!" Demigra hissed and roared, rocketing towards Rizotto with blistering speed that shocked the human. "YOU DARE SPEAK TO ME IN SUCH MANNER?!"

He couldn't dodge in time. He had to block! Rizotto raised his arms and crossed them just as Demigra's gargantuan fist crashed against him. He felt his bones rattle and quake under the force of such an attack, clenching his teeth in pain. Rizotto's body soared through the air, but he was quick to right himself just as Demigra flew towards him with another punch.

"Kaioken...!" Rizotto snarled as he flipped over the attack, landing on Demigra's arm and using his momentum against the man. With a twist of his body, Rizotto's ki exploded from his body and illuminated him in a crimson glow. His power skyrocketed as he delivered a roundhouse kick to Demigra's jaw, sending the Demon God flying and crashing through several time shards. "x20!"

He didn't stop there. With a flex of ki, Rizotto rocketed forth like a bullet, closing the distance between himself and Demigra in mere moments. His elbow impacted Demigra with excessive force, forcing the Demon to gag in pain. Rizotto lashed out with an uppercut that snapped Demigra's head upwards, and a swift kick to the sternum made him hunch over.

The Kaioken, a technique in which the user enhances all their physical attributes in a heartbeat, giving them an explosive burst of power for a few moments. It took skilled ki control to maintain and sustain, but the cost of such power came with excessive strain. Strain that Rizotto could already feel as he pushed the Kaioken to it's limits. He fought on even as pain flared through his body.

"THAT ALL YOU GOT?! I THOUGHT YOU WERE A GOD, DEMIGRA?!" Rizotto roared, a barrage of punches sending shockwaves rippling throughout Demigra's body. His eyes widened sharply as the gargantuan deity suddenly vanished from sight. "What?!"

Rizotto wheezed as two massive fists collided with his back and sent him downwards. Flipping through the air, he witnessed Demigra use his Mirage technique to create several projections of himself. The Demon God and his Mirages charged up their magic and ki and released a volley of blasts upon the Future Warrior.

Rizotto kicked his ki into overdrive and swerved around the energy blasts, some narrowly grazing him as he dodged the near endless rain of attacks. His senses sharpened as he took notice of the blasts circling around and flying right back towards him. He clicked his tongue.

Unleashing his own volley of blasts to counter them, explosions riddled the dimension where all time was catalogued. Through the cloud of smoke, several more blasts targeted Rizotto, and he turned his attention towards Demigra and his Mirages. He charged ki within his feet and pushed, performing a Z-Vanish and appearing right behind Demigra.

"YOU FOOL!" Demigra roared as Rizotto lashed out with a kick, dispersing his Mirages in one fell swoop. The Demon God smirked and lunged to ensnare the Earthling in a death grip. His triumph was replaced with confusion as Rizotto smirked. Suddenly, his speed doubled and he flipped over Demigra's arms with another Z-Vanish. "What?!"

Demigra released a sharp cry of pain as his head snapped to the side from a fierce kick to the jaw. Rizotto twisted his body and wrapped his legs around Demigra's head, using his upper body strength to pull and flip the Demon God overhead, throwing him right into his own storm of energy blasts. The roar of pain that echoed through his ears was satisfying.

Rizotto grinned. Gonna have to thank No. 18 for that move!

A monstrous flare of demonic ki and magical power snapped him to attention as Demigra rushed him. Rizotto grimaced as he felt the effects of Kaioken x20 bearing down on his body. He persevered regardless and clashed with the Demon God. Both warriors exchanged fierce blows that would turn any ordinary man to paste. A punch to the gut made Demigra gag. A blow to the head made Rizotto's world ring like white noise. Demigra twisted his body with a twirl and bashed his tail against Rizotto's stomach.

Coupled with Kaioken's strain, the power behind the blow was enough to make Rizotto scream in pain as he felt bones and muscles fracture and tear. His body twitched and he clenched his fists to maintain feeling in them as he raised a hand to block an overhead strike from Demigra. The Earthling grit his teeth and roared as he pushed Demigra back, lashing out with a ki-charged punch to the stomach, followed by several kicks to the chest and jaw, before finally finishing his attack off with a palm strike.

Ki ripped through Demigra's body and burst out of him in a violent shockwave. A wave of blood gushed from his mouth as he soared across the Crack of Time. Cradling his stomach and wheezing in pain, Demigra snarled in outrage at the slight against him. He, a God, being bested by a disgusting Earthling?! If it were some Saiyan, Arcosian, or even a Namekian, perhaps he'd have a bit more dignity. But no... a bloody human put him in such a sorrowful state.

Even with all this power...! Demigra shifted his glare towards Rizotto. If looks could kill, Rizotto would have already be dead.

Rizotto panted in exhaustion, as the flickering embers of Kaioken sparked across his body. He hacked up globs of blood from the strain, as his muscles twitched and spasmed, the only real thing keeping him going being the rush of adrenaline, and sheer willpower alone. "Gotta end this now...!"

Sucking in a breath, Rizotto called upon his ki once more, reigniting the Kaioken. Readjusting his stance and cupping his hands together, he focused all of his ki into one centered point. "Ka..."

Demigra snarled, his eyes glowing a menacing red, his tired gasps turning into angered breaths, as his power flared. His anger continuing to mount as he stared at the Earthling before him. "You...!"

"Me..."

"YOU...!"

"Ha... ME...!"

Demigra called upon all his power and energy, and with an enraged roar that echoed throughout all of time and space, launched himself at Rizotto. A cone of demonic ki sparked around the Demon God, growing larger and larger as his tunnel vision turned red, with the only thought in his mind being to kill. Kill the lowly Earthling that stood in the way of his dream to rule all of history. The aura around him grew thicker in sharper, as he inched closer and closer to the Future Warrior.

Rizotto tensed as he felt the ki charging in his hands reach a boiling point. A sphere of blue energy gripped tightly by hie palms threatened to leak out. Tendrils of powerful ki shot outwards, illuminating the dimension in a beautiful azure glow, contrasting with the fiery red that engulfed his body. He grit his teeth, and with great effort, thrusting his hands out and released the built up energy with a mighty roar. "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The signature move of the Turtle School roared as it clashed against Demigra. Red and blue beat against each other in the ultimate struggle, heights of power never thought possible tore the Crack of Time at the seams. Time and reality ripped apart and sewed itself back together sproadically, as rippling waves of powerful energy shot out in all directions. Rizotto felt a push, as Demigra began to beat against the Kamehameha, and panic arose in the Earthling as he felt himself losing ground against him.

No...! No, no, no! SHIT! Rizotto grit his teeth, feeling the Kamehameha lose power as the Kaioken began to flicker and die. Soon enough, the technique sputtered out. The adrenaline kept him from feeling the after effects, but he let out a pained gasp as the Kamehameha worked against him. As his power began to dwindle, Demigra's only seemed to grow. "NOT NOW!"

"THIS IS IT FOR YOU. DIE, MAGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!" Demigra roared as scarlet demonic power nearly eclipsed the Kamehameha entirely. Rizotto's eyes widened in horror as his vision was filled with red. The comforting blue light of the Kamehameha slowly being engulfed by Demiga's Final Gambit. In that moment, Rizotto's life flashed before his eyes, and the feeling of bitter defeat washed over him.

This... this is it. Rizotto's face twisted into a solemn frown, as the heat grew closer. After everything. After all that, I fail. I failed everyone. Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Krillin, No. 18, Trunks... Lady Chronoa.

It was as though a knife had twisted itself in his heart at the thought of the last two. Trunks, who'd got him this far from the start. An excellent Time Patroller, one of the best, and an even greater friend and partner. The man who always knew what to say, to give him encouragement. Who always had his back, no matter the odds. Whether it be through Parallel Quests or defending history and restoring balance. Trunks was always there.

Lady Chronoa. The Supreme Kai of Time, a strong and dependable woman, who showed him that despite being human, he had the potential to become one of the strongest warriors in all of the Time Patrol. She was like a mentor to him, out of all the others, she was possibly the best. She could be snappy, and have a short temper, but she was a capable leader, and powerful. So extremely powerful. He'd hoped to become half the person she was.

And he failed them both... his friends.

Tears welled in his eyes, as bitter acceptance washed over him. Rizotto bowed his head, gritting his teeth. "Damn it..."

"Are you really gonna give up? Just like that?"

Rizotto perked up in confusion, his eyes widened as time seemed to slow down to a crawl, and he peered over his shoulder, bearing witness to a spiritual projection of... "G-Goku?"

"You've got way more power than that! I know ya do!" Son Goku pumped his fists with his signature grin.

Rizotto's confusion grew. "How...?"

"Hopeless. Utterly hopeless." A harsh voice snapped Rizotto to attention as he turned towards a projection of Vegeta, his ever present scowl plastered on his face. "And you call yourself a warrior."

"Vegeta..."

Gohan appeared before him next. "Just a little more! Keep going!"

Then, Piccolo."Don't be a fool. Are you going to let a false God defeat you?"

And Krillin. "The fact you've gotten this far is amazing in of itself! Don't give up!"

Rizotto's eyes slowly began to widen further. One by one, all the friends he'd made, the allies, the rivals, even the enemies he'd made appeared. Encouraging words rang through his mind, filling his soul with the familiar embers of hope. Even then, he slowly turned back to the frozen clash against Demigra. The Demon God's enraged face, his Kamehameha barely holding on.

"Everyone... I... can't..." Rizotto held his tongue and grimaced tightly. He couldn't find it within himself to refute their encouragement. Their hopes and dreams. Everything was placed on his shoulders, and yet...

"Do not falter..."

A deep, rumbling voice of mysticism and power rang through Rizotto's very core. The voice of the Eternal Dragon snapped the Future Warrior to attention with wide eyes. Something within him stirred, within his very soul. Bit by bit, Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin... everyone shined with brilliant light that nearly blinded the boy, burning spheres of ki shot into him. A surge of power threaten to overwhelm Rizotto. His eyes widened in shock and awe, at near boundless energy coursing through his body.

"... my Warrior."

"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Time resumed. Rizotto's voice echoed through the Cracks of Time, brimming with emotion. His ki surged from his body and erupted like a burning white bonfire, his eyes burning a brilliant azure. His hair flickered, shifting from brown to gleaming white. His power continued to skyrocket, his Kamehameha expanded, growing further and further, reaching it's apex. Demigra's eyes widened in horror, as the Earthling reached his second wind.

"T-This is impossible! NO!" Demigra hissed as he was forced back, using both of his hands to keep the blast at bay.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Rizotto's power bloomed. His hair a fiery white, his roar deafening, overlapping with the roar of a dragon. The Kamehameha erupted with power, tendrils of energy spiraling around the massive beam of energy, expanding and intertwining, shrouding it in a spectral aura that took on the form of a dragon that engulfed Demigra in his entirety. The power, so immeasurable, so pure, that it burned away at his very being.

As Demigra's body crumbled, and the essence of Tokitoki flowed out of him, eyes frozen in shock and disbelief, pained words left his lips, as the embrace of death came to claim him. "God... I was... a God...!"

The Kamehameha trudged on and crashed against an invisible 'wall' against the Crack of Time. The sheer power tore straight through it, sending spider-web cracks all across the dimension and causing it to rupture. As the blast dissipated, Rizotto let out a tired breath. Shakily lowering his hands, Rizotto smiled tiredly, letting out a chuckle of disbelief.

"I... I did it...!" The Future Warrior beamed, only to cough up a torrent of blood as his body spasmed and all the overwhelming power washed awaym The damage he obtained during the battle, along with the Kaioken's strain and that new power left him wiped of any energy, but damaged. The Earthiling found himself hacking and coughing as his body shut down.

"KIIIIIIIIIIIIII!"

His ears rung. He could faintly make put Tokitoki being released from it's prison. He couldn't move as is, as the dimension around him crumbled like broken glass, tears in time and space formed like some sort of black, absorbing everything in sight. It pulled Rizotto in, and he could do nothing to stop it.

"Kiiiiiiiiiii...!"

As his vision blurred, Rizotto could make out the bird's form as it flew towards him. Too little, too late, Rizotto solemnly thought as the darkness surrounded him. Nevertheless, tue Future Warrior let a smile blossom across his face as he recalled his victory against Demigra. He won. That's all that mattered. He did his job, and protected history.

The Future Warrior fell with a smile on his face.

And he was gone.

[SAGE]

"WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!"

Planet Earth, a world full of wonderous sights and lush green fields. Of vibrant colors and peculiar characters. One such character was currently having the time of her life. On the outskirts of Spiral Hill Village, in the woodlands, a lemur girl leaped through the trees with undeterred swiftness and agility. With light grey fur and purple eyes, a darker grey muzzle and similar patches of fur matting the bridge of her nose and edge of her eyes, with an athletic build, primarily dresses in yellows, oranges, and blacks, one Tangle the Lemur let out a holler of excitement as she burst through the treeline and into the air.

"Nothing like a good lap around the forest to get your blood flowing!" Tangle whooped with a gigawatt smile as she flipped through the air and gravity took hold. Her prehensile tail shot out and coiled around a sturdy branch, which she used as leverage to gather momentum with her fall and swing across several more trees.

With a twirl and a flip, she landed on another branch and perched herself with, letting out a breath of exertion. Tangle always found herself enjoying these bouts. If there was one thing that always managed to get her blood flowing, it was the feeling of the air brushing past her fur as she ran and leaped through the forests around Spiral Hill!

It beat sitting around all day and doing boring stuff.

Don't get her wrong, Tangle loved her home. But it did get boring fast. Especially for a girl with boundless energy like her. She lived for the thrill and adventure! She just wished she had the chance to experience it. There wasn't much to do around her home, and they were way out there on the countryside. The most exciting thing she really did was spend time keeping 'guard' of her best friend Jewel's musuem. Not that there was much guarding to be done. There was little to no crime in Spiral Hill... but every now and again, there'd be someone trying to steal something.

Those were very far and between, though.

Then again, there has been some excitement. Well. Not so exciting, depending on the perspective. The Great War... around 6 or 7 months ago, the infamous supervillain slash mad scientist Doctor Eggman had taken over the world with the help of someome by the name of Infinite the Jackal. Her village was attacked on behalf of the Empire's raids. They were lucky enough for the Resistance to ward them off and build up a militia to hold down the force. Since then, she'd been protecting her hometown from badniks and the like with the help of the militia.

After the war ended, everything was back to the way it was. Sort of. It was scary for sure, but Tangle knew it would turn out fine with heroes like Sonic the Hedgehog around! And how she right she was... but it would take a while for the world to properly repair. It was a restart for everyone, as they settled back into basic commodity.

But, there was some odd raids happening around her village for the past couple of weeks. So perhaps her thoughts on things being boring didn't hold a lot of merit. But they were few and far between. Real sproadic... nobody knew the reason behind the raids. But there was news on it happening to other villages around the globe. A lot of people pointed it to Eggman, considering they were his badniks. But nobody had seen him since the war. It was unknown if he went into hiding, or was... dead.

Regardless, she used the free time she had outside of raids to occupy herself, doing parkour exercises around the village and forest. It was fun, and good for training! She always wanted to stay in tip-top shape. You couldn't look as cool as her without putting the effort into keeping your body fit. And she was not gonna be gaining weight anytime soon!

... Despite what many would say about her large appetite.

Tangle stretched her arms over her head and grunted with a smile. "Whelp! Guess I should head back on over, see if Jewel wants me to do anything..."

Just as she was about to leave, her ears perked up and there was a sudden upsurge in wind. Tangle found herself confused. That was odd, the weather reports said it was going to perfectly sunny today. Her brows creased, and Tangle's fur bristled as her senses screamed at her to run!

"WOAH!" The lemur shrieked as a tree tilted and crashed overhead from the intense gales. She leaped out of the way just in time to not be crushed, and tried to search for the source of the wind. Her eyes widened in shock at what she found up ahead. "What the..."

A swirling mass of unstable energy was the source. It looked more like a portal, the likes of which Tangle had never seen before in her life. With dark purple hues, mixed with blacks, and brighter blues. The portal seemed to expand and shrink in size at random, contorting unnaturally and sparking with electricity that singed the earth. She found herself standing deathly still, as the portal continued to grow, and grow...

Before it suddenly exploded. Tangle yelped and coiled her tail around a tree to stop herself from getting sent flying from the shockwave that shook the entire forest, shielding her eyes from the blinding light. As it died down, and the fierce gales calmed, Tangle hesitantly opened her eyes and blinked owlishly at the smoldering crater formed by the explosion.

"What the heck was that?" Tangle tilted her head in confusion and jogged up to the edge of the crater. Her confusion rose as she tried to peer through the thick cloud of smoke, but she found nothing. Her confusion gave way to excitement. "I wonder if I just found an alien! Wait, would that be bad?"

She cupped her chin and hummed in thought. "On one hand, it could be a peaceful alien... on the other, it could be a violent one threatening to destroy us all."

...

Tangle cupped her hands over mouth and called out. "Hello? Any alien down there?"

... There was a groan. Tangle blinked as her ear twitched, and peered over her shoulder as though someone was going to appear behind her any second and scold her for potentially getting near something dangerous. Knowing nobody was around, she looked down at the crater and hopped down wtih a grunt. Carefully sliding down the steep slope.

Tangle gasped in shock at what she saw.

Laying in the crater was an injured Islander. A monkey, from what she could tell. A boy around 15 to 16 years old. No older than herself, wirh dark brown fur, tan skin, and messy, shaggy bangs hovering over his face. He was heavily injured, deep scars and dark bruises matted his body, blood seeping out of the griveous wounds and sticking to his fur. Tattered and burned clothes clung to his body. The remnants of a jacket hanging over his shoulders, his shoes pretty much destroyed beyond repair, with the only thing mostly being in tact the baggy black pants he wore. But there was still battle damage to it.

He looked as though he'd come out of a war zone!

Tangle scrambled towards him in a hurry, worry and trepidition filling her heart as she kneeled in front of the boy. "What the heck happened to you...?" she got no response. She hovered her head over his chest, and let out a breath she didn't know she was holding when she knew his heart was still beating and he was still beating.

She shuffled back and bit the inside of her cheek. What could she do? She was by no means a medic in any sense of the word. She only knew basic first aid, but these injuries were well beyond that!

"Oh, shoot! How could I forget!" Tangle knocked her knuckles upside her head with a blooming smile. "We've got a medbay back home!"

She nodded to herself and looked back down at the mysterious monkey before her. Slowly, she picked him up with care as to not agitate his wounds further. With a flex of her tail, she hurled herself out of the crater and made a b-line towards Spiral Hill, brows creased tightly as a sense of urgency washed over her. She found herself focusing on the boy again. "Just who are you...?"

She'd find out sooner or later, it seemed.

One thing was for sure... Tangle had a feeling things were gonna end up changing real soon.
