Chapter 2 – New opportunities
While she already expected it, the traffic jam was something she could have done without. Still, that gave her more time to listen to the news.
So, Fazbear Entertainment is now bringing out video games, at least that's what they announced along with the coming opening of the Mega-Pizzaplex.
That's right Tom, it surprises me that they're still in business with their history, but it seems like they're going for another try of rebranding, they always come back it seems. Anyway, let's get to sports...
"Finally, the traffic's moving again. I also have to refuel again. Combine that with money problems... Guess it's ramen noodles again this month. As if this day could get any worse." she thought.
At the office, her boss already expected her and led her to his office.
"So, traffic was horrible I assume." he said as she sat down.
"Am I that late?" she asked.
"Oh no, don't worry about that, I know how traffic is around this time. Anyway, I have something for you." he said as he pulled out a yellow bunny plush.
"Happy birthday, it is your birthday, isn't it? At least that's what it said on your cv."
Vanessa looked surprised as she took the plush.
"It is, I forgot. Thanks."
Maybe this day isn't that bad after all
"Anyway, about the offer: It's a VR game from Fazbear Entertainment and they need testers, here's the contract for you to read. They insisted on signing a contract with not only me but also the tester for whatever reason, but that's Fazbear Entertainment so I guess it's for secrecy."
As Vanessa skimmed the contract, she found the most interesting part for her: compensation.
They'll pay up to a thousand dollars a week?! There's got to be a catch somewhere.
"They seem to have a thing for privacy, about a quarter of this contract deals with that" he said, interrupting her thoughts "Not even I'm allowed to know what's in the game. Also, they want a decision by today so I'm sorry, but you'll have to decide now if you take it or not."
"I'll take it, secrecy will be no problem" I have no one to talk to anyway
"Perfect, just sign it and then you can keep a copy of the contract. I'm sure they'll explain everything else." he said excitedly. After she signed the contract, he gave her a VR headset and the game.
"They provided this and said you could keep it after the testing period, pretty generous, even though they're known for the opposite, not that I'm complaining." he added
This day gets better and better she thought
"Thank you for this opportunity, and the birthday present." she said before she walked out.
"You're welcome, see you soon."
When she got home, she first put everything down and then immediately checked for any E-Mails from Fazbear Entertainment and sure enough, there was one.

You will find the contract details attached below. There you will also find your task in the game, though it will be explained when playing too. "Of course, they aren't responsible for anything, typical Freddy's" she muttered to herself as she examined the device. It was brand-new and seemed to be a new model made by Fazbear Entertainment themselves. Quite generous indeed, now let's see...
Putting on the device, she suddenly felt a sudden surge of dizziness and tiredness, which vanished after a few seconds as suddenly as it appeared. After she put on the device and made herself ready to test it, she was greeted by a glitching message of some sort. Collect the hidden tapes? Okay then. I wonder if this glitching is on purpose.
Looking around the main menu, she saw a screen with a selection of different levels and stages. Next to that was a cassette player. What caught her attention was a purple arrow, pointing below the table she was sitting at. She looked under the table and, sure enough, she found a tape. When she touched it, it disappeared into green code.
She suddenly felt strange, a feeling of great accomplishment went through her and she felt safe, as if nothing mattered except this. The feeling was only there for a couple seconds, but she already felt as if she needed more somehow. Looking around for more tapes that maybe hidden somewhere, she saw a strange tear behind her. It glowed through the darkness with a white light. She felt pulled towards it and when she did, a hand came out, suggesting her to take it. She hesitantly reached out with her hand and-
The next thing she saw was the ceiling of her room. She looked at the clock and realized, that the previous day had passed.
Was that all just a dream? Looking around her room, she saw the VR set on the table, together with the bunny plush which looked as if it was staring at her. She felt dizzy and tired, yearning for something to make her feel better. Only then did she notice the drawings on her wall.
Great, I just hope it's easy to clean. What does all that mean anyway? Some strange bunny and random letters all around?
A strange sound on her computer caught her attention. It was a strange message without sender.
"Good morning, I hope you slept well, friend. I hope to see you again soon"
