Mae yawned as she walked up the stairs, eager to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before she slyly departed on her dragon while the rest of her worthless classmates depended on the train to carry them home like cows in a cart for the castle's winter recess.
As she strode down the hallway, an evil smile curled her lips while she contemplated her plans for the next several weeks.
Her summer had been productive, her lessons had been useful.
Heads turned wherever she passed by.
Boys often stared, wide-eyed and slack-jawed.
……..But what would James do, once she had him all to herself, alone in their home, without any annoying distractions to interrupt his focus?
Inside her pocket, Mae carefully carried the precious cargo she had managed to gather from Knockturn Alley, determined to keep her treasure close.
She rolled her eyes in irritation as she walked through the doors of the Great Hall and made her way over to Slytherin's table.
She had just piled her plate full of food when a voice interrupted the wonderful quiet she enjoyed.
"Excited to go home?"
She turned with her eyes narrowed before she forced a smile onto her face, "Scorpius, how lovely to see you so early."
"Sorry I'm late, I had imagined you might wait for me in the Common Room." He said with a chuckle as he sat down next to her, "Especially since you said you would yesterday."
Mae let out a silent breath of irritation as she realized she would be forced to act through her breakfast.
She flashed Scorpius the sweetest of grins before she grimaced as he turned his head to fill his own plate.
By the time he looked back over, Mae made certain she sat with her spine straight and her face relaxed, the living image of female perfection from her flawless face to her full breasts, all the way to her enviably slender waist.
"Have you thought any more about it?" Scorpius asked.
"...About what?" Mae asked.
A frown of disappointment marred his handsome features as he prompted her, "About asking your parents if your family may visit mine over winter recess?...Remember? I mentioned it last week?"
"Oh……." Mae blinked as she thought back.
She spent so many hours a day tuning him out to stare at James, she had very little idea of what he did say.
"I……." Mae replied as she cleared her throat, "I'm very sorry, but my father won't allow it. He's insisting we all spend the holidays at home, together."
"We'll be on recess for nearly three weeks." Scorpius countered as he narrowed his eyes.
"...And the thought of leaving our home for a single second of it nearly sent him into a rage." Mae shrugged, "...Perhaps another time."
Scorpius visibly deflated as he sank against the table's wooden bench.
Determined not to let that dismaying answer ruin his last few moments with his beloved before they inevitably parted, he launched himself into conversation with Mae.
She put on a convincing show of pretending to listen while her emerald eyes kept glancing across the room at James.
As handsome as their father, James chortled on with his many friends at Gryffindor's table.
Mae eventually forgot that anyone else was in the room.
"Are you alright?" Scorpius nearly shouted at last, his added volume finally breaking her impressive concentration on memorizing her brother's every breath.
Mae turned to look at him with an irritated scowl on her face, "I'm fine, thank you."
"You're gnashing your teeth." Scorpius pointed out.
"Am I?" She asked quickly as she realized how clenched her jaw had become while she had watched Lily and James exchange happy smiles.
Scorpius frowned as he watched his darling pass a hand over her face and force her jealous fury not to show.

On the ride home, Scorpius busily penned the tenth draft of his letter while the train rattled along.
Dear Minister for Magic Tom Riddle,
I humbly beg you to reconsider your rejection of my family's invitation. It would be a great honour to the house of Malfoy if you, your wife, and your children were to dine with us one evening. Please know that we will make every effort to accommodate you should you choose to accept.
Sincerely,
Scorpius H. Malfoy
Once he had finished writing, Scorpius scowled down at the words he had placed on the page before he balled that draft up too and tossed it onto the floor, next to its crumbled, parchment brethren.
He sighed to himself as the train chugged along.
While the many students aboard chatted excitedly about their plans for winter recess, Scorpius dreaded the weeks that lay ahead.
His home felt like a prison, knowing that Mae could not be there beside him.

"Are you sure about this, James?" Lily asked with a nervous smile, "We don't have to do it right now, you know."
"If I wasn't, I wouldn't have asked for it, would I?" James grinned, "We haven't got much time, Rose and Hugo will be back soon, they just stepped out for a minute."
Anxious, young, and in love, James and Lily exchanged nervous laughs while they hesitantly moved towards each other, temporarily alone in their compartment on the Hogwarts Express.
Lily closed her eyes the second before James cautiously did the same.
Their hearts pounded as they leaned towards each other.
A single flutter, an innocent brush of lips against lips, and that was it.
Suddenly, they shared a wonderful new mystery with each other as they quickly pulled away and sat with their backs against the seats.
"That was it, then?" James asked as he gasped for breath, his heart still racing, "That was a real kiss?"
"I suppose it was." Lily chuckled, her cheeks red from their terrifying thrill.
They held each other's hands for a brief moment before Hugo and Rose reappeared, their arms full of treats purchased from the trolley.
"What's the matter with you two?" Rose scowled, "Why are you out of breath?"
Older and somewhat wiser, Hugo had a good idea of what had passed between their friends as he nudged his sister, "Go on, sit down, we have plenty to share…….It's hot in here, that's all. They got a bit hot, that's why their faces are red."
"Yeah." James nodded, grateful for the support, "It's quite hot in here."
Despite her age and inexperience, Lily couldn't help but let out a laugh.

"Tom, you have to let go now." Harriet frowned.
She sighed as she gazed at her husband who had made himself comfortable at her bare breasts, content to lavish affection upon her forever, with her fingers combing through his dark curls, and her warm nipples in his mouth.
"We're going to be late. The train won't stop, not even for the Minister for Magic." Harriet chided.
Without pulling away, Tom scowled up at her as his hands slipped over her belly.
At last, he slowly released his wife only to crawl up and capture her lips with his.
Harriet's protests soon turned to hungry mewls as her alpha began one of his finest attempts at impromptu seduction.
As much as Tom looked forward to having his older children back in the house, he lamented the fact that his parents may not be able to occupy all three of them simultaneously.
Not being able to grab Harriet for a session in her nest whenever he wanted would be an onerous inconvenience.
