Dr. Ludwig stands outside Stephanie's door holding a carrier in his left hand, hesitant about telling her of the news he received, not wanting to pressure Stephanie into worrying about something new.
But he took a soft, deep breath before knocking on the door with his knuckles twice, asking, "Stephanie? Are jou en zhere?"
"Yes, I am!" Stephanie happily chirped from inside the hospital room. "You may come in!"
Dr. Ludwig opened the door and stepped inside, seeing Stephanie looking through the hospital room window and looking over at Dr. Ludwig and asking, "How are you, doctor?"
"I'm doing fine, zhank jou," Dr. Ludwig nodded, approaching Stephanie as she walked away from the window. "Zhere es somezhing important I need to tell jou."
Stephanie's expression changed slightly, slowly asking with a somewhat worried tone, "What is it that you want to tell me, doctor?"
Dr. Ludwig kneels to Stephanie's height after putting the carrier down on her bed, telling her, "Stephanie, jou are going to be en a meeting vith zhe council."
Stephanie felt a worried feeling building up in her gut as she asked, her hands clenching her hospital gown, "Who is the council?"
"Zhe council are important people vho keep en check vith zhe universes," Dr. Ludwig explained. "Zhey are also powerful people too, und, zhey learned about jour existence en zhe Multi-City Hospital, vanting jou to come over to zhe Lightness und Darkness Castle."
That worried feeling grew more as Stephanie nervously clenched her dress after listening to Dr. Ludwig and asked, "Are they dangerous?"
"Zhey can be vith zhe others vho joined en zhe meeting," Dr. Ludwig nodded. "But zhey are good people after jou explained to zhem zhe situation of vhat happened. Zhey vill help jou get back home, too."
Stephanie looked down at Dr. Ludwig after he explained to her before asking, "Are you coming with me?"
"I can't," Dr. Ludwig answered with a heavy heart. "Et's my duty to mend other people en zhe hospital along vith zhe others." Then he paused with an assuring smile, standing back up to his feet, finishing, "But zhere es someone vho vould be by jour side."
He turned the carrier towards Stephanie as she watched with curiosity as a familiar arm stuck out from one of the holes in the carrier's gate. Dr. Ludwig opened the carrier, and the same kitten popped out, heading towards Stephanie with a meow.
Stephanie beamed after seeing the kitten and picked the kitten up, holding the kitten in her arms with a smile as she hugged the kitten, who purred in happiness while licking her face.
"Thank you, doctor!" Stephanie beamed before hugging Dr. Ludwig's leg with one arm as the other was holding the kitten.
"Jou're velcome." Dr. Ludwig nodded as Stephanie released her grip around Dr. Ludwig's leg, and the kitten rubbed its face against her cheek. "Vhat name do jou have vith zhe kitten?"
"Marble," Stephanie answered, looking up at Dr. Ludwig with wide eyes. "His fur pattern reminds me of the marble countertops in the room where we practiced the alphabet."
Dr. Ludwig's heart squealed with happiness after hearing Stephanie's explanation, wanting to be by this child's side through the meeting and protect her. But all he could do was wait by the sidelines and hope that she makes it out safely.
Hours passed, and Stephanie was petting Marble on her lap, knowing she needed to wait for the council members to pick her up. The feeling of nervousness was gnawing at the back of Stephanie's mind as she gently patted Marble.
What if she screws up and accidentally casts something without knowing? What if she accidentally insulted someone with not being able to get the vocabulary right? What if she could not convince the councils and be tossed somewhere?
Piles and piles of nervousness filled Stephanie's mind, causing her to worry more, wondering what she would do in front of the council. Better yet, how many people are within the castle?!
Stephanie looked back through the window and looked at the castle, Dr. Ludwig explained, seeing the black and white castle in the far back of the city. She thought it was a reminder of the past, but when Dr. Ludwig explained, she knew where the meeting would occur.
Wait, what would she wear?! Stephanie looked down at her hospital gown nervously, knowing she could not enter the council room wearing a gown with nothing underneath. The dress Dr. Ludwig purchased was borrowed for the time being from a clothing shop, so Stephanie literally had no clothes to wear, bringing more worry onto Stephanie's shoulders.
Marble noticed Stephanie was worried and arched his back, rubbing against Stephanie's cheek to calm her down. Stephanie snapped out of her worry and looked over at Marble, who once again arched his back and rubbed against Stephanie's chin.
Stephanie sighed and gently scratched Marble's chin, hearing his purring go up a notch as she focused on Marble, watching him play around with her fingers and strands of her long hair. When it hit the second hour, Stephanie perked up after hearing one of the doctor's voices and three voices speaking from the hallway.
They did not sound like Dr. Ludwig or Nurse Flood, which caused the nervousness to resurface as Marble was gently nibbling at her fingers playfully. Then, the door opened by the nurse in the hallway, and a stranger entered the room and looked colorful.
She had sienna skin with black dots for her eyes, and her bangs were white and looked like clouds on the top of her head, with long rainbow-like hair at the ends, tied with a cyan scrunchie.
She wore a rainbow tie-dye shirt with a cyan sash tied around her waist, denim shorts, and two different colored shoes, one black and the other white. The stranger stared at Stephanie with a gawking expression before a white and black blob looked over her shoulders with confusion.
The white blob had black eyes and a white mouth, while the black blob had red eyes and a red mouth. Stephanie looked surprised to see the three entering her room as her kitten's fur puffs, hiding behind Stephanie's left arm. The black blob then exclaimed, "Hold on a minute! It's another human?!"
"Didn't I explain that already?" a voice in the background asked.
"You didn't specify what you meant," the white blob responded calmly.
"I thought I did," the voice in the background mumbled.
Stephanie stared at the three with silent confusion, surprised to see how different they were compared to what she was thinking. She thought the councilors served as ominous judges who assessed them because of their actions.
But now she saw three of the Councilors instead of the entire group… her impression seemed to disappear. The rainbow woman walked up to Stephanie and gently cupped her face, cooing, "Aw, you poor child! You must've been so scared being alone in the Dark Woods!"
Stephanie shyly smiled after the rainbow woman cooed and felt confused about why she was acting strangely towards her. But it could be because she is a child, and children are important to worry about.
"Rainbow," the light blob spoke as she glanced at him. "Ease up a little on the kid."
"Oh, right, right," the rainbow woman named 'Rainbow' remembered as she turned to Stephanie, removing her hands from her cheeks. "Sorry. What is your name, honey?"
"I'm Stephanie," Stephanie responded before mentioning the somewhat hidden kitten. "This is Marble."
"Stephanie," the rainbow woman spoke. "We are taking you to see the rest of the council. After that, we can help you find a way to return home once everything settles."
Stephanie's heart skipped a beat after the rainbow woman explained it to her, and she was nervous about meeting the 'rest' of the council, but she silently nodded.
"Great," the rainbow woman said, smiling. "Do you have any clothes to wear by any chance?"
"No," Stephanie shook her head. "I used to wear an old dark blue gown with black tights." Then she added, looking sad, "Which I think ripped after I was in the emergency room."
The two blobs glanced at each other after Stephanie explained, as the rainbow woman mumbled, "Oh dear."
"Don't worry about that, sis!" the black blob assured. "We can get her some clothes to wear!"
"Yeah," nodded the white blob.
"Oh, no, no, no, no," the rainbow woman frowned, turning to the two blobs with a frown. "The last time I let you two do something, you argued for over four hours!"
"Because he wanted to go to a different store!" the black blob argued, forming a pointing finger towards the white blob. "Which was not close to where we were!"
"Because the one you picked was near the villain's bar!" the white blob argued.
Stephanie covered her ears as the two argued over their decisions while the rainbow woman groaned, pinching her nose bridge with her fingers as Marble climbed out from his hiding spot onto her lap.
She watched as the clouds in her hair turned slightly black and then grabbed them by the back of their heads and said, though muffled through Stephanie's hands, "I'm going to buy new clothes for Stephanie! You two knuckleheads stay here with her if something happens!"
With that, she released the black and white blob's heads and walked off as Stephanie slowly removed her hands from her ears. She gently patted Marble as he continued purring a little, looking at the two wincing blobs.
"Is this normal?" Stephanie politely asked as the two glanced over at her.
"Yeah, it's normal," the black blob nodded as the hand rubbing the area where she grabbed disappeared. "And that's our sis, Rainbow."
Stephanie slowly nodded and asked, "And who are you two?"
"Oh," the white blob perked. "I'm Lightness, and this is my brother," He scowled slightly as the other frowned. "Darkness."
Stephanie looked at the two after Lightness, the white blob, introduced the two and asked, "Who is the oldest?"
"We're twins," Darkness mentioned. "There's no oldest or youngest. And we consider Rainbow as our," two hands formed from his body and quoted, "'Oldest' sister."
"Oh!" Stephanie remarked. "She's pretty!"
"She does." Lightness nodded in agreement. "If you make her laugh, she can become a rainbow disco ball. Blushing, she becomes a shade of all the red colors."
"Wow!" Stephanie remarked with wide azure eyes. "That sounds really cool!" Then she asked the two, "Do you two do something with your colors?"
"Well," Darkness began. "I sometimes can shadow travel through the dark areas to help get to points A and B easily. And even have the widest knowledge of villains throughout the dimensions."
"I do the same," Lightness nodded. "Except I use light travel and have knowledge of the greatest heroes across dimensions."
"Cool!" Stephanie remarked to the two. "You're both amazing!"
Lightness blushed a deeper shade of white while Darkness blushed a lighter shade of black, confusing Stephanie at their color shifting when she remarked to the two. So they spent an hour talking to each other, although Stephanie was nervous about making an argument between them.
Rainbow returned to the hospital room with two bags with a logo on the front and apologized, "I'm sorry I took so long! The line was long, and someone was arguing at the front."
"Again?" both Lightness and Darkness asked simultaneously.
"Yes, again," Rainbow nodded with a slight huff. "Anyway, here," Rainbow handed the bags over to Stephanie. "These might fit you. Unfortunately, I didn't get to guess your size. I also got a collar for Marble."
"It's okay," Stephanie assured them, placing the bags before her. "I'll try them and give the collar to Marble."
Then she reached over to the ties on her left side as Darkness said, startling her as she stopped her, "Whoa! Wait until we leave the room before you start doing that!"
"Sorry!" Stephanie apologized as they stepped out of the room and closed the door. Once the door was closed, Stephanie returned to what she was doing, untying the side straps and stripping herself of the hospital gown.
Outside the room, Rainbow, Lightness, and Darkness waited for Stephanie to finish changing her clothes, hearing the bags crinkling and moving around. It lasted a few minutes before the door was knocked, and they heard Stephanie ask, "Can I come out?"
"Yes, you can come out." Rainbow nodded. The door opened, and Stephanie entered the hallway, wearing the clothes Rainbow picked out. Strangely, the clothes seemed to fit her body without being too small or big.
Stephanie wore a cameo blue sweater with a zipper on the front, including a hood. It was in the colors of peacock, sky, white, and dark blue that reached down to her hips and unzipped. She wore light pink and white shoes with white shoelaces, blue jeans, and a long-sleeved light blue shirt.
Stephanie's kitten on her shoulder wore a dark blue collar around his neck with a silver tag with his name etched on it. The long-sleeve shirt was slightly ruffled as Stephanie tried to adjust her clothes draped over her hands, showing a pretty scarred belly, which made Rainbow cover her mouth while Lightness and Darkness' eyes widened.
The scars were covered when Stephanie pushed the shirt down, adjusting everything as Rainbow quickly switched to acting normal as Lightness and Darkness looked at each other with nervous expressions.
"Great!" Rainbow remarked after seeing Stephanie in the clothes as she stepped out of the hospital room. "You're all dressed!"
"I appreciate it," Stephanie thanked her, zipping her sweater before pushing the sleeves up slightly to give comfort to her hands. The only baggy thing was her sweater, which Stephanie did not mind as it was comfortable.
"You're dressed in my favorite color!" Lightness remarked as Stephanie followed Rainbow.
"I am?" Stephanie politely asked, looking at the sleeve of her sweater as Marble climbed onto Stephanie's shoulder for comfort.
"Yes!" Lightness nodded. "You're cute in those clothes!"
Stephanie blushed a light blue color from Lightness' remark about her clothes and stepped out of the hospital, only to freeze when a crowd gathered before them, taking photos and asking questions.
They were all swarming all three like a crowd of people trying to get onto the subway, making Stephanie feel claustrophobic as she tried to back away from the group of people and shield her eyes from the flashes of the cameras and the shoving of the microphones.
"Aw, great!" Rainbow groaned as she blocked her eyes with her hand. "Paparazzi!"
Marble kept hissing and flicking its paws at the cameraman, including the recorders, who went too close to Stephanie as she tried to gently push the cameramen away. It was too much for her sake, and she was already calm!
"Hey, can you excuse us?" Lightness politely asked, trying to squeeze through the flashing lights and crowded people. "May we get through?" Lightness paused when a microphone was shoved into his face. "Please get that out of my face!"
Darkness had enough of the cameras flashing and the microphones shoving in their faces, enlarging himself as he roared, "EVERYONE! GET AWAY FROM US RIGHT NOW!"
That instantly scared everyone away as they ran at the speed of light, leaving behind a cloud of dust and other items. Stephanie gives a sigh of relief as Rainbow gently helps her upright from moving backward.
"Good riddance!" Darkness huffed as he shrank back to his original height. "Let's just get out of here quickly before they return."
Stephanie agrees with him and follows the three, still surprised by Darkness' ability. But, before leaving the hospital's steps, a limousine drove in front of them, and Stephanie gasped. Rainbow approached her after the limousine appeared, telling Stephanie, "Stay close to me, Stephanie."
Stephanie watched the limousine's door open, and a duck stepped out. The duck was white and wore a black top hat with a red ribbon, frameless glasses on his beak, and a blue shirt with a single button and red spats with a hand in his hand.
"Scrooge McDuck?" Lightness questioned as Darkness sighed. "What are you doing here?"
"Och, A came here tae pick ye four up," the duck, named 'Scrooge McDuck,' answered, speaking with a Scottish accent. "A knew thon the paparazzi wad come here tae try tae tak pictures an' recorders o' the wee bairn!" Then he paused, noticing it was just the three of them, and asked, "Where is she, thouch?"
Rainbow, Lightness, and Darkness perked up after Scrooge McDuck asked, and Rainbow moved to the side, revealing Stephanie to him. Stephanie was startled when Rainbow moved to the side and saw Scrooge McDuck in front of her, shyly waving at him with a smile.
"Well, blow me bagpipes!" Scrooge McDuck remarked, gently pushing his hat up a little into place. "She is a real human, after aw!"
Darkness rolled his eyes. "Yes, a real human, but can we get to the castle? We need to get there before a fight starts there."
"Well, whit am A doin' here then?" Scrooge McDuck asked, mentioning the opened limousine door.
"Right, right," Lightness nodded as Scrooge McDuck returned to the limousine. "Let's use Scrooge's limo instead of a taxi!"
Rainbow and Darkness looked at each other and shrugged, entering the limousine as Stephanie followed. She felt nervous about entering the limousine, but taking a deep breath, Stephanie entered and sat between Scrooge McDuck and Lightness. Scrooge McDuck closed the door and called the driver, "Drive on!"
The driver nodded and started turning the wheel, driving out of the hospital's parking lot as Stephanie's nervousness grew. It was the first time Stephanie had been ridden in a limousine, and Stephanie felt like a nervous kid as Marble sat on her lap after sliding down from her shoulder.
"Sae, where did the child come from?" Scrooge McDuck asked, sitting across from them as he placed his cane beside him.
"We can answer questions once we arrive at the castle," Darkness huffed. "Besides, how did you know about this human?"
"Online news," Scrooge McDuck answered with a gentle shrug. "Apparently, someone from the ee doctor uploadit a video o' the Medic wi' the lass. It travels faster than Postman Pat's van itself."
"Let me guess," Lightness spoke. "George Jetson's heroic rescue gained a lot of followers online, too?"
"Aye," Scrooge McDuck nodded as Stephanie felt ashamed.
"I'm sorry that he's getting into more trouble than I am," Stephanie said, petting her kitten's cheek as he rubbed against her fingers. "I didn't know the internet could go that fast."
"Where have ye been?" Scrooge McDuck asked as Stephanie glanced at him. "Livin' under a rock? The internet daes gae thon fast i' a couple o days, weeks, or months."
"Wow," Stephanie remarked before looking confused. "And I wasn't living under a rock."
"It's to describe a person who doesn't know anything 'normal,'" Darkness explained. "Not living underneath an actual rock."
"Right," Stephanie blushed sheepishly. She distracted herself by looking out the window, watching as millions of buildings went by and different characters walked around, some strange and modeled differently.
Stephanie even watched different cars drive by, some alive and others made in different models than Stephanie had ever seen before. The ride to the castle was moderate, but Stephanie was surprised to see how massive the palace was.
It was half black and half white, with a fountain in the front, and had many windows, symbols, and an enormous tower with a rainbow hovering over it and glitched clouds. Stephanie stepped out of the limousine with the help of Scrooge McDuck, looking at the castle with surprise.
Then, people wearing purple suits stepped out from inside and stood defensively around the place, watching Stephanie as she felt nervous. Scrooge McDuck noticed Stephanie was nervous and assured her, "Dinnae worry aboot it, wee hen. They are the soldiers, an' they dinnae mean harm."
Stephanie nodded after Scrooge McDuck assured her and walked up the stairs, getting closer and closer to the castle. She felt small as she stood before it, but the doors opened, allowing her and the others inside.
When Stephanie stepped inside, she saw pictures of many people on the castle's walls. They were unfamiliar to her as they had the names 'Walt Disney,' 'Rebecca Sugar,' 'The Warner Brothers,' 'Ole Kirk Christiansen,' and many others.
Stephanie followed the four as her ears suddenly heard loud noises, explosions, crashes, yelling, and even items thrown around. She stopped walking briefly after hearing the noises but continued walking and reached up with a hand to her ear, placing it over her ear. The noises muffled a little, but when she removed it, it spiked a little.
"Uh," Stephanie glanced at the nearest person, seeing it was Rainbow as she walked up to her next to her side. "Rainbow? What is happening in one of the rooms?"
Rainbow stopped walking after Stephanie asked and looked at her, asking, "What room?"
"I can hear a lot of noises," Stephanie mentioned, wincing from hearing a loud blast as she covered her ears with her hands. "It sounds like a war is happening!"
Rainbow stared at Stephanie after she mentioned, glancing over at Scrooge McDuck, Lightness and Darkness, as Scrooge McDuck said, "But the room is a few floors doun from where we are!"
"It is?" Stephanie asked, removing a hand from her ear.
"Yes!" Lightness nodded as he went up to her. "How can you hear those noises?"
Stephanie went silent after Lightness asked, wondering how she could hear those noises if they were a few floors below. Rainbow thought after Lightness asked and decided to test Stephanie's hearing, saying, "Let's head to the room. We can talk from there instead."
Stephanie nodded after Rainbow suggested the room as they continued their walk until they reached an elevator. They entered the elevator and went down the levels, soon reaching level four, and the doors opened.
Stephanie could now hear the noises getting louder, wincing at the noises, and even whistles and engines revving. She covered her ears with her hands to stop hearing the noises, feeling like she had stepped onto a highway with roaring cars.
"Why did it get louder?!" Stephanie asked, shouting as the four glanced at her with confused expressions.
"What?" Darkness asked.
"I said, 'it got louder!'" Stephanie responded, shouting as Scrooge McDuck winced from her voice.
"Okay, lower yer voice," Scrooge McDuck said, patting Stephanie on the shoulder.
Stephanie looked confused about what Scrooge McDuck said but nodded as she understood most of it. They stepped out of the elevator and walked down the hallway as Stephanie heard it getting louder. But as they approached the noise source, Stephanie removed her hand, and the noises died.
"Hey," Stephanie remarked. "I can't hear the noises anymore!" Then, a loud crash happened in the room in front as Stephanie remarked, "Except for that."
Rainbow sighed as she said, "They might be fighting against each other again."
The doors opened slightly as Scrooge McDuck, Lightness, Darkness, and the soldiers entered, and Rainbow turned to Stephanie.
"Okay," Rainbow spoke as Stephanie listened to her. "We're going to enter a highly dangerous room with half of the room filled with villains. Stay close to me or any of the generals if you don't feel safe standing by yourself. If it gets out of hand, run fast and head into a room."
After Rainbow explained it, Stephanie hesitated and nodded, preparing for what would come next. As soon as the door opened, the same noises she remembered before were audible, causing Stephanie to wince as she hid behind Rainbow and growled, her hair flickering with lightning.
Rainbow stormed inside with Stephanie behind, seeing many figures shouting at each other, pointing, throwing items, and hurling other things. Some were different from others, shouting censored insults and obscene gestures across the tables, some standing up from their chairs and slamming the wide, curved desks in front of them with fists.
The desks were split down the middle in black and white, longer than the company tables Stephanie learned, and had tapestries with a black and white symbol. It looked like she had wandered into a battle assembly during a war as more items were thrown around.
Others spoke different languages and had different species, and Stephanie felt like she had stepped into a vast ocean without a paddle. Rainbow then bellowed, unleashing a massive lightning storm, "Can you all get back to your seats, and can we have a meeting like NORMAL PEOPLE!?"
Stephanie jolted after seeing the lightning storm as the noises died down, and everyone returned to their seats, sitting back down but still glaring at each other and making some quick obscene gestures across the table.
"Thank you," Rainbow thanked everyone as her hair slowly turned normal.
Stephanie glanced around the room to see many people, boats, robots, soldiers, and other beings staring at Rainbow as she continued, "Everyone, I know that I gathered you all here for a meeting."
"Yes, is that Caleb again?" One of the people on the dark side of the table snapped.
"No, it isn't Caleb again." Rainbow frowned.
"Then what is it?" another asked. "I have a job to do back home."
"You'll get to it once this is over," Rainbow hissed as Stephanie felt nervous. "But… it is another human."
Instantly, the entire room went bonkers as Stephanie heard from the crowd, "What?!", "Another one?!" and "How did this happen?"
"Calm down, calm down!" Rainbow informed everyone as she waved her arms out. "This one is much different from how Caleb got here. She-" A massive purple humanoid stood up from his chair as Stephanie watched anxiously, noticing the slightly worried expression on Rainbow's face and demanding, "Enough talking."
He lifted a golden gauntlet in his right hand with six gemstones, five on the knuckles and one in the center, and the people on the white side of the table instantly perked, standing up from where they were with their weapons.
"We want to see who this human is." He swiped with his hand and moved Rainbow to the side, unrevealing Stephanie to the group as she froze as Marble puffed. Millions of eyes stared down at Stephanie as she started to pant, looking at each one fearfully as her heart was beating against her chest like a drum.
"That's a child!" one of the people remarked as the massive purple humanoid walked up to her.
"But how did a child get here?" another asked.
Stephanie watched as the massive purple humanoid stood before her, towering over nine feet tall, as she heard Rainbow's voice, "Thanos! Leave her alone!"
Thanos, the massive purple humanoid, ignored Rainbow's voice and demanded, "How old are you, child?"
Stephanie's voice caught in her throat, but she answered, though stammering, "I-I'm nine years old."
The entire room went silent after Stephanie stammered as she heard one of the people exclaim, "She's younger than Caleb!"
"Too young to add," another nodded.
Thanos only frowned and said, "I suppose she is another 'recruit' to Rainbow's group?"
Stephanie's knees knocked against each other as Marble stood on her shoulders, growling loudly while staring at the giant purple brute.
"She can't even merely stand properly," a giant demon laughed as one of the generals quickly ran over, standing between Thanos and her.
"That is enough," Thanos hissed, moving the general away with the power of the stones on his gauntlet. "I want to see how this mere human gets here."
He was about to reach down to Stephanie with a hand, but how he stood and how his face resembled him reminded her that someone had brought up a terrible memory. Stephanie panicked and instantly ran forward, dodging Thanos' hand and running between his legs, accidentally running in the wrong direction.
"Wrong direction, Stephanie!" Lightness exclaimed as a purple blob was glitching angrily.
Stephanie realized what had happened and stopped at the end of the table as a droopy dog slowly said, "Other direction, please."
She nodded and was about to turn around to run but suddenly froze as she had one of her hands on the desk, and her feet turned to run. She could feel her heart beating harder against her ribcage than before, and her breathing was raspy.
Her breathing was quick, and she could not move an inch as Thanos stood behind her. His expression was angry as his patience wore thin while the generals tried to grab him to stop him from hurting Stephanie, but he merely flicked them with his gauntlet.
"I am sick of these games, Rainbow," Thanos glared, ignoring that Stephanie was leaning on the table as her legs wobbled underneath her, slowly moving downward. "What is the secret of this-"
Before he could grab her with his hand, Thanos' foot went through the floor as it had turned to liquid, causing him to miss Stephanie and fall. Thanos watched as he sank into what was once firm underneath his feet and was stuck halfway as if he had gotten himself stuck in a hole.
"What is this?!" Thanos exclaimed, trying to get himself out by pushing his hands on the floor.
But the floor squished underneath his hands as he attempted to push himself from the ground, except it felt like a deflating bouncy house. After hearing his demand, Stephanie glanced at him, her eyes glowing in a light azure color.
Marble had jumped off her shoulder onto the table and was meowing nervously at Stephanie to leave the room and stop being frozen, seeing she was not responding to him. The table soon started to drip from underneath Stephanie's hand, slowly turning into a liquid as it fell on the ground, splashing everywhere as Stephanie went onto her front, her hands on the floor.
Everyone else on the table fell to the ground after the table melted from her touch, as everything around them started melting along with the ground, becoming a liquid mess as the ceiling dropped onto them.
She was panting and profusely sweating as Thanos continued squirming where he was, trying to grab Stephanie's ankle to drag her close to demand what was happening, but he kept sinking further to the floor.
"Let's get out of here!" exclaimed one of the people, trying to stand but sinking into the ground.
Rainbow tried to get close to Stephanie as everything seemed to melt, the ceiling dripping and covering everyone in its colors. No matter what everyone tried, no one seemed to get out of their situation, as everything seemed to drip everywhere.
Luckily, others managed to get through the melting room as the ceiling continued dripping, causing some dangling items to fall and splash into the ground. The giants fell through the floor, yelping as they dug their fingers into the melting ground.
"Everyone, hurry!" shouted one of the generals. "Exit through this door!"
Thanos snarled as he lifted his gauntlet while his other arm was stuck through the floor, using one of its gems to escape his situation as it went up to his chest. He snapped his fingers to activate the gemstone, but nothing happened after the first snap.
Thanos attempted repeatedly, but nothing happened with each snap as everyone struggled to walk towards the door, feeling like they were treading through thick mud. He looked at the gemstones on his gauntlet and saw that the colors were slowly glowing, surprising him at how it was all glowing without him using the powers.
"What's happening to your gauntlet?!" exclaimed one of the people from the dark side of the table.
"I do not know!" Thanos exclaimed, looking confused about what was happening. "Stop this madness right now!"
Stephanie was still on her hands and panting, feeling like she would vomit or pass out from all this stress. Then, her necklace fell out of her sweater when Stephanie ducked her head down slightly as Marble continued meowing to get Stephanie's attention.
Her necklace was glowing in a rainbow color and Lightness, Darkness, and Rainbow, and the purple blob noticed it around her neck, simultaneously gasping after seeing the necklace around her neck.
A Navy lieutenant with fair caucasian skin, medium brown eyes with a scar across the left eye, a square nose, cubic ears, and wearing a black lieutenant uniform with a symbol over the left pocket looked over at Stephanie as she was in the middle, curled into a ball as the kitten meows at her.
He instantly gets up from the ground and runs towards Stephanie, dodging everything heading towards them like darts and even sliding underneath others that almost hit him. He approached Stephanie as the kitten turned towards him, emitting a hiss with a spit as he quickly scooped the child into his arms.
"Oh, hush!" the Navy lieutenant hissed, holding the child with both arms as the kitten was in her lap. He looked around for a way to get out of the place as items blocked the exit, seeing he needed to go through that way.
So he rushed towards the door as fast as he could as Rainbow and the others were helping people out from the door. The room slowly became a puddle, with everyone's waists or wheels sinking through the ground.
Stephanie was having trouble breathing as the necklace glowed brighter. Soon, a powerful surge went through her body that caught the Navy lieutenant's attention slightly from his mission. Suddenly, the ground in front of the Navy lieutenant melted into a black hole, causing the Navy lieutenant to panic, muttering German, but he fell through.
He gives a shout of fear after falling through it before the black hole disappears, and everyone thinks that it is them sinking into a quicksand-like room. But after Stephanie, Marble, and the Navy lieutenant disappeared, everything returned solid, causing everyone to perk.
After everything shifted back to solid, everyone tried to get out from where they were stuck, but their limbs or wheels were stuck in the ground as if they had returned to a normal floor. Thanos, unfortunately, had his arms stuck in the ground with only his shoulders and head sticking out as the rest was stuck through the floor.
The somewhat melted door opened slightly, and a person stepped inside, looking confused after seeing the melted destruction inside the meeting room and stuck people on the floor, looking like a scene from Jumanji.
"What the hell happened in here?!" the person exclaimed, wearing what looked like a black t-shirt with the symbol of a loading bar with the word 'LOADING…' underneath it, along with gray pants and black and white shoes.
"A young child, that's what!" Thanos growled. "She used some kind of magic that melted everything around here!"
"A CHILD?!" the person exclaimed again as Rainbow, Lightness, Darkness, and Glitch poked their heads inside the room. "WHAT CHILD?! WHERE IS THE CHILD?! HOW I WAS NOT ALERTED ABOUT THIS?!"
"Dude, you get cranky whenever someone attempts to poke you awake." Darkness pointed out with a huff.
"Listen!" Rainbow spoke, cautiously stepping into the room as everyone struggled to escape from the floor. "We'll explain everything. Right now, we need your help to find her."
The person paused after Rainbow exclaimed and nodded before Thanos barked, "Hey, what about us?!"
"You'll get help once we find the child." the person responded before turning to Rainbow, asking, "What's the child's name?"
"Stephanie," Rainbow answered as a sword shape flew through the air, heading towards the person as he gripped it into his hand. "Please be careful."
"I will," The person nodded, using the sword and sliced in the air, creating a rip that showed a whirl of colors inside. "I must head to the dimensions to find my friends."
With that, the person stepped through the hole, and the hole closed, disappearing with a flash as Rainbow sighed, the wind blowing as her hair flicked in the wind.
