Happily Ever After

*Zero held Sonic by his wrist as he pulled him deeper into the sea. He wasn't wearing his clothes anymore. His shirt got ripped off by a rock as they went past it*

Zero: Poor little Prince. It's not you I'm after. I have a much bigger fish to -

Queen Aleena:*off-screen* Zero! *she appeared in front of them with Tails next to her**on-screen* Let him go!

Zero: Forget it, big sis. He belongs to me now. *he let go of Sonic & took the golden contract. Breena & Brenna quickly wrapped themselves around Sonic's arms* We made a deal. *Aleena fired her trident at the contract, but it remained completely whole* Sorry. This contract is legal, binding, and completely unbreakable, even for you.

Sonic: I'm sorry, Mom. This is all my fault.

Queen Aleena: What do you want with my son?

Zero: Nothing. It's you I want. I want to see you suffer. Like I've suffered all these years! And the son of the great Sea Queen is a very precious commodity. *he let go of the contract & started to swirl around Sonic like a twister* Poor unfortunate soul. *Sonic slowly started to shrink* Of course, I always was a guy with an eye for a bargain. What do you say to a trade? Hmm? What's your precious little Sonic worth to you? *Aleena looked at her trident & then at her youngest son. then, with her head turned away & her eyes closed, she changed Sonic's name to her own* Ha! It's done then!

*He laughed as the contact let go of Sonic & flew towards the Queen. It swirled around her & she began to shrink*

Sonic: No! Oh no!

*Back on the surface, Sally stood on the rowboat, holding a harpoon spear, ready to dive into a part of the water that was glowing*

*Back under the sea, the Queen had completely turned into a polyp*

Knuckles: Your Majesty.

Sonic: Mom . . .

*Zero picked up Aleena's crown & placed it on his head*

Zero: At last. It's mine.

*He laughed as he held up the trident*

Sonic: You . . . *he angrily swam up to Zero & grabbed him by his hair* You monster!

*Zero threw him off his shoulder to the ground & pointed the trident at him*

Zero: Don't fool with me you little brat! Contract or no, I'll blast - OW! *a spear had hit him in the arm, cutting him. he looked up & saw Sally floating in the water* Why you little fool!

Sonic: Sally! Sally, look out!

Zero:*to Breena & Brenna* After her!

*The eels swam after Sally & grabbed her by her ankles before she could climb into his boat. They pulled her under, trying to drown her*

Knuckles: Coming!

*He & Tails swam to the boys. Knuckles pinched Breena's tail & Tails slapped Brenna in the face with his tail, making them let go of Sally*

Zero: Say goodbye to your sweetheart. *he raised the trident & it started to glow. Sonic pulled him by the hair & he fired a shot at Breena & Brenna, frying them both* AAAH! My poor babies!

*He then saw Sonic swimming towards the surface after Sally. He got furious & ink began to spew out of her. Tails & Knuckles watched in horror at what was happening to him*

*On the surface, Sonic & Sally swam towards each other & embraced*

Sonic: Sally, you've gotta get away from here!

Sally: No, I'm not leaving you!

*Suddenly, the water under then started to bubble. Then a giant yellow point rose out of the water. It was Zero, only he had grown into a giant. Sonic & Sally jumped off the crown, dived into the water, & hugged each other as he grew taller. His laugh sounded like thunder*

Giant Zero: You pitiful, insignificant fools!

Sally: Look out!

*One of his giant tentacles came down towards them, but they dodged. Zero then waved the trident around, causing a storm*

Giant Zero: Now I am the ruler of all the ocean! The waves obey my very whim!

*Suddenly, Sonic & Sally were torn apart by a giant wave*

Sonic: Sally!

Giant Zero: The sea and all it's spoils, bow to my power!

*He used the trident to stir a whirlpool in the water, which caused a sunken ship to rise from the depths. Sonic held on to a rock as the sea grew rougher. Sally saw the ship coming towards her & tried to swim away, but it caused her to go under*

Sonic: Sally!

*Sally was tossed in the waves until she managed to grab on to a rope & climb on to the ship. Just then, Zero saw Sonic & aimed the trident at him. He had to let go of the rock to dodge & fell down the whirlpool. As Sally ran across the ship's deck, a wave crashed down on her. Sonic was now in the eye of the whirlpool & looked up at Zero, who was at the top. Zero tried to zap him, but he dodged. Sally managed to get to the helm & steered the ship towards Zero. He raised the trident for one final blast*

Giant Zero: So much for true love!

*Suddenly, Sally turned the ship & the bowsprit of the ship stabbed Zero in the stomach. He screamed in agony & was zapped by his own magic. Tails & Knuckles covered their eyes from the light as Zero sank, never to see the light of day again*

*Dawn broke as Sally managed to get to back shore. Her brother, Harvey, Rosie, & a few soldiers ran to her. Harvey was the first to reach her as she picked what was left of Sonic's white shirt*

Harvey Who: Sally, please!

Sally: We need a boat! We have to find him!

King Elias: And then what? *she stopped* And then what, Sally?

*She paused for a moment*

Sally: You were right. I was just chasing after a fantasy boy.

King Elias: No. No. I was wrong. He was very real. And so were your feelings for him. I see that now. It's just that . . . Our worlds were never meant to be together.

*Sally said nothing as she dropped the shirt into the water & left with her brother, Harvey, & the others*

*Zero's remains & the trident sank as deep as his lair. In the cave, the polyps turned back into mer-people & swam out happily. The trident landed next to it's rightful owner & the Queen turned back into a mermaid*

Sonic:*off-screen* Mom! *the Queen turned around & saw Sonic coming towards her. she opened her arms & hugged him as he cried on her shoulder**on-screen* Oh, Mom! Mom, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you!

Queen Aleena: It's alright, darling. It's alright.

*They hugged for a few more seconds. Sonic then sadly looked up at the surface. He then got out of his Mother's hug & swam towards the surface. The Queen & Knuckles went after him*

*The Queen & Knuckles arrived at the surface to find Sonic sitting on a rock & watching the castle on the cliff, thinking of Sally & wondering if he'll ever see her again*

Queen Aleena: He really does love her. Doesn't he, Knuckles? And she did save my life.

*Knuckles nodded*

Knuckles: Well, it's like I always say, Your Majesty. Children got to be free to lead their own life.

Queen Aleena: You always say that? *Knuckles shrugged sheepishly* Then I guess there's just one problem left.

Knuckles: And what's that, Your Majesty?

Queen Aleena: How much I'm going to miss him.

*Knuckles gave the Queen a surprised look as her trident started to glow. She then placed the trident on the water's surface & a golden trail went towards Sonic. It touched his tail*

*Meanwhile, Sally was sitting on the steps leading to the sea, looking sad. Then Muttski came up to her with a stick in his mouth*

Sally: Good boy. *she took the stick & threw it. Muttski quickly came back with it* Again? *she threw the stick again, but the dog didn't come back with it* Muttski?

*She turned around & saw him being petted by a very familiar hedgehog, who now has legs again. She jumped up, ran to Sonic, & hugged him. He hugged her back & then they kissed*

*A month later, they were married. Sonic wore his formal suit (look up "Prince Sonic-Cosium Outfits (Formal Suit)" by "LiyuConberma" on "DeviantArt") & Sally wore a white wedding dress (look up "Daisy - Ariel (Wedding Dress)" by "Katlime" on "DeviantArt"). Muttski kissed both of them as they turned to their guests, who cheered. Elias smiled & Rosie cried into Harvey's cravat. In the water, beside the wedding ship, all of Sonic's friends & family from Atlantica had come. Sonic waved Chip & Tails goodbye. Knuckles sat on top of the wedding cake, holding the bride & groom statues. Suddenly, Hamlin came up to him, ready to slice him in half with his knife. Knuckles dodged & the cake got sliced in half instead. Knuckles ran away as Hamlin chased after him. He then came up to one of the ropes holding up a part of the mast. As Hamlin got closer to him, he cut the rope & the part came down, hitting Hamlin in the face. Some of his teeth fell out & he fell to the floor, unconscious. Knuckles then jumped from the ship & into the water in between Chip & Tails*

Knuckles: Yes! Thank you. Thank you.

*Sonic then went up to the railing as his Mother came up to him with a geyser of water. She & Sonic then hugged*

Sonic: I love you, Mom.

*Chorus singing*

Now we can walk

Now we can run

Now we can stay all day in the sun

*Sonic & the Queen turned to Sally, who bowed to her Mother-in-law. The Queen smiled at her. He then caressed Sonic's cheek & went back to the water. He blew her a kiss*

Just you and me

And I can be

Part of your world

*The Queen used her triton to create a rainbow in the sky as Sonic & Sally waved everyone goodbye & the ship sailed away. The newly weds then shared one final kiss*
