Chapter 9: Party
Colton slowly woke up, noticing that Koneko was already awake.
She looked to be in thought. Colton assumed that she was still processing the fact that he's half demon, and a prince no less.
"Hey Colton." Koneko spoke up.
"Yeah?"
"You know how you ended up telling your biggest secret? And how I don't view you any differently?"
" yeah."
"I want to tell you mine. It's only fair."
"Are you sure?" Colton asked.
Koneko took a deep breath. "Yes."
All of a sudden a pair of cat ears and a tail appear on Koneko.
Koneko, who was looking away, looks at Colton and sees him staring.
The look in his eyes was not one of shock, but rather of awe.
After a moment, Colton stopped staring and gave a warm smile. "And here I thought that I couldn't fall in love with you more. Looks like I was wrong."
"Huh!?" Koneko did not expect that reaction.
"I think your charm just increased by ten times." Colton complimented.
"Your not shocked or scared that I'm a Nekomata?" Koneko asked.
"As you said last night: 'you're still you.' You are still the girl I fell in love with." Colton said.
Koneko teared up a little before tackling him down onto the bed in a hug.
The two then share a moderately long kiss.
"If you really thought that I'd be scared of you, then you clearly forgot that I am a descendant of a monster." Colton said the last part with a small laugh. "Besides, it's not the race that defines the person, it's their actions. Since all you have been doing is being cute, there's no way I can be scared of you."
Koneko then snuggled into him more. "And this is why I fell in love with you. You're so judgment free."
"I have no reason to judge considering my own background."
"...I also have a name I no longer go by: Shirone."
"Well. What I know is that we are not Xeno and Shirone. We are Colton and Koneko."
The two cuddled for a while longer, not having anything to do in the morning considering the party isn't until the afternoon.
Once they got up, Koneko hid her ears and tail again using magic. Colton was a small bit disappointed seeing her Nekomata features disappear, but he understood why. She had convinced him to not tell the others that she revealed her secret to him.
Later it was time for them to meet up with the rest to go to the party.
"Hey guys." Colton said as he and Koneko walked into the ORC building.
"Hello your majesty." Akeno said teasingly.
Colton just rolled his eyes. "Not funny. Besides we're all friends here, I don't want the royal treatment."
"Okay, enough with the banter. We have a celebration to attend." Rias said.
"Wait! Before we do, I got an idea for clothing." Colton said.
"Alright. But be quick." Rias responded.
Colton used Clothes Beam on Rias. She now has a beautiful red dress on.
He then used it on Akeno, giving her a beautiful black dress.
He used it on Issei and Kiba at the same time, giving Issei a nice red suit, and Kiba a nice black suit.
Using it on Asia have her a nice white dress that covered more skin than Rias and Akeno's.
Koneko also got a less revealing white dress.
Finally Colton gave himself a more regal like outfit. The outfit made him look like a prince. The things that stand out about the outfit is the demonic horns on the shoulders and the short velvet cape. The outfit was mainly black with crimson sleeves and leggings.
"Now, that's more like it." Colton said.
"You say you don't want the royal treatment, yet your dressing as royalty." Issei commented.
"My mother would be expecting me to wear something like this. I'm afraid to see what would happen if I disappoint her." Colton said.
"Is she that powerful?" Kiba asked.
"She is the Demon Queen after all. In the Demon Realm, being the ruler means you have to be very strong." Colton explained.
"Good to know. Anyway let's get going." Rias said as she teleported everyone.
Everyone had just arrived at Gremory Manor.
They walk inside and notice how big it was.
"And I though my family's palace was huge." Colton commented.
Colton then noticed Towa, Fu and Colton's step father/biological father of Fu: the artificial demon, Mira. What always confused Colton is that Mira was created by Towa, but they ended up becoming lovers.
They all enjoy the atmosphere there, talking with each other and eating food.
While Colton and Koneko were by themselves at a table, they notice Ravel walking over. The two notice that she had a small limp.
"Hello you two." Ravel greeted.
"Hello Ravel. How have you been?" Colton asked.
"I've been doing fine." She responded.
Koneko could tell that was a lie.
"Oh, by the way; sorry if I ended up scaring you during the Rating Game. That power of mine doesn't exactly come from the nicest of places." Colton apologized.
"Oh! No, it's okay. I actually thought that was really cool." Ravel admitted.
"Huh. That's a first." Colton commented.
Colton and Koneko then noticed a slight shift in Ravel's posture and the small wince that accompanied it.
'Stopza' Colton casted.
Everyone except for Colton, Koneko and Ravel freeze in stopped time.
Koneko looked around confused, while Ravel recognized what was going on.
"This again?" Ravel said quietly.
"Ravel, be honest. Why are you hurt? I know that you didn't get hurt at all during the Rating Game." Colton said.
Ravel looked away. "I'm fine."
"All three of us know that's not true." Koneko said.
Ravel still didn't meet their gaze.
Colton set a hand on her shoulder. "Who did this to you?"
Ravel then immediately broke down into tears, hugging both Colton and Koneko.
She cried for 10 whole minutes, with time still having been stopped.
The two of them just stayed silent, comforting her. They both pet the back of her head in a means to calm her down.
Once she eventually stopped crying, Colton handed her a handkerchief, just like last time. She accepted it and dried her tears.
"Do you want to tell us now?" Colton asked softly.
Ravel nodded. "My brother. When we lost the Rating Game, he was the angriest I've ever seen him. He... he took his anger out on all of us." She explained while breaking down into tears again.
Koneko hugged her again while Colton took in all the information with a clenched fist.
Colton then took a deep breath to calm down.
"I promise you that we will get you out of this situation. For now: Heal!"" Colton said as he casted healing magic.
The physical pain Ravel was feeling disappeared, allowing her to stand up straight without any discomfort.
"It doesn't hurt anymore." Ravel stated.
"Basic healing magic. By the way, since your a member of the Phenex clan, why didn't you use your flames to heal?" Colton asked.
"Flames of the Phenex clan can negate the healing properties of those same flames. My brother hit me with fire which made it so I couldn't heal myself."
Colton clenched his fist behind his back. Koneko put a hand on his arm which helped him calm down.
"Why don't you hang out with us for the remainder of the party? Then we can sort out this problem of yours. I'm sure my mother could help." Colton suggested.
Ravel smiled. "I'd like that."
Colton then resumed time.
Colton, Koneko and Ravel all talked for a while, getting along.
After a while of them talking, a fireball was shot at them from out of nowhere.
Colton noticed the fireball. "Get down!" He shouted as he tackled Koneko and Ravel to the ground.
The attack missed its target and hit a table, the explosion caused by it caused panic around the room.
The three get back up to look at the attacker.
Riser walked forward with an angry expression. Behind him was the rest of his peerage, looking worse for wear.
"Riser Phenex! Just what are you doing?!" Sirzechs demanded.
"Never in his life has Riser been humiliated by a low class trash. Riser demands a rematch!"
"Talk about a sore loser." Colton commented, walking forward.
Riser then noticed Ravel behind Colton.
"Ravel! Get over hear this instant!" He commanded.
Colton put a hand out. "She doesn't have to listen to a word you say."
"Are you stupid? Of course she does, she's part of Riser's peerage." Riser shot back.
"She's allowed to have free will." Colton countered.
Riser then got furious. He turned to his peerage. "Kill him now!"
The members of his peerage look incredibly uncomfortable and don't move.
"Do it now or all of you are dead!" Riser threatens.
"Alright, alright. That's enough." Towa said as she walked forward.
"Who are you supposed to be?" Riser questioned.
"The Demon Queen." Towa answered. "You don't deserve to have a peerage. I'll take that away from you."
Towa then glowed a little. When the glowing died down, Towa's appearance changed.
Her hair had a few red highlights in it, as well as the inside of the back of her hair was all red. She also had red markings at her eyes.
"So she's using that form." Colton commented.
"What's that form?" Koneko asked.
"I'll explain later." Colton answered.
Towa raised her hand, as it glowed red.
The chest areas of all 16 members of Riser's peerage, including himself, glowed.
From the glowing, out came evil pieces.
The 16 evil pieces fly over to Towa, floating above her hands.
"My evil pieces! What did you do?!" Riser demanded.
"You don't deserve these anymore, so I took them." Towa answered.
"Give them back right now!" Riser demanded.
The ex-members of Riser's peerage looked on in shock. They could feel that they are no longer bound to him.
Riser prepared a fireball.
"If you really want those pieces back, then fight me for them." Colton interjected.
Riser began to laugh. "You really think your a match for Riser?"
"Sure I am. I beat you last time didn't I?" Colton taunted.
"Grr. Fine!" Riser responded.
Towa waved her hand and a portal appeared under Riser and Colton.
The two of them fell into what appeared to be a wasteland, but the sky was red.
Colton landed on a rock formation.
Riser landed on a taller formation.
Colton took a battle position while Riser had a smug look.
They stared each other down before Colton charged.
Riser fired a fireball. Colton vanished and appeared behind Riser.
Colton performed a powerful elbow to Riser's back, sending him flying.
Colton followed up by flying after him, and delivered a powerful axe kick.
Riser smashed into the ground.
Riser's wounds heal as he gets up.
Riser shoots several fireballs at Colton. Colton dodged each of them.
"Is fire magic all you can do?" Colton taunts.
Colton then vanished and re-appeared in front of Riser, punching him.
Riser throws a punch back, only for it to be really sloppy.
Colton easily avoids the punch. "Your not good at close combat are you? I may not be that good either but at least I know how to throw a punch."
"Shut up!" Riser yells.
Colton continued to talk while dodging. "You know, considering how bad your doing in this fight. It's pretty clear that the only reason I had to use the powers of that monster is because I was fighting too many opponents at once, thus I couldn't focus. But one-on-one, it's a piece of cake."
Colton then jumped up and performed a spin kick, knocking Riser back.
Riser got up and fired more fire magic.
Colton continued to dodge the attacks. He even stopped to wipe dust off his suit, just to taunt Riser.
"Honestly, this is pathetic. I'm going to end this fight now." Colton declared.
Colton raised a hand upwards. "Meteor Shower!"
In the sky, a large magic circle appeared. Out of the circle formed dozens of asteroids.
The asteroids began to fly down, aiming for Riser.
Riser spreads his wings of fire and flies up, the asteroids below him suddenly start to go upwards.
Riser began to fly around, while all the asteroids were following him.
"Stop trying to avoid them! I told that I'm ending this! Those asteroids won't stop chasing you, it's a homing spell!" Colton shouts.
Riser continued to try and dodge but he ended up slowing down due to exhaustion.
Riser ended up slowing down enough for the asteroids to catch up and all hit him.
An explosion occurred. Riser falls out of the explosion, hitting the ground. Riser was barely conscious.
Colton walked up to him. "Give up?"
"Never." Riser weakly says.
Colton then kicked him in the chest, knocking him out.
A portal opened up beneath the two of them, causing them to fall through.
The unconscious Riser hits the floor unceremoniously, while Colton lands gracefully on his feet.
Rias and the rest of the peerage walked up. "You certainly had that handled."
"He wasn't even a challenge. I never even got serious." Colton responded.
"Looks like he was all talk." Koneko commented.
Towa then walked over with the evil pieces in hand.
"Since you did fight that flaming chicken for these, they now belong to you."
"I guess that would make it easier on my part, I don't have to order a new set to be made." Sirzechs said as he walked over.
"Let me make things more interesting." Towa said as she used powerful magic.
The piece in Colton flew out and in front of him. The king piece of the set Towa was holding floats over to the mutated queen piece and the two start to swirl together.
They fuse into one piece. This piece looked like a regular king piece, but it was crimson red and had demonic horns on the top. The other 15 pieces all change as well, becoming crimson red in color and gaining demonic horns.
"These shall no longer be called 'Evil Pieces', they are now full of both devil and demon energy, thus I'll name them: Chaos Pieces." Towa declared.
The newly formed chaos king piece flew into Colton.
"Thanks to my little upgrade, anyone with one of these pieces will be a demon and a devil. Just like you my little Xeno." Towa explained.
Colton grumbled at the name.
The other 15 pieces flew over to Colton, he held out his hands and held the pieces.
"I guess I can start looking for peerage members." Colton said.
"I would like to say, even though you can have your own peerage now, you are still part of this peerage." Rias said.
"I know. After all, the mutated queen piece that you owned is still a part of me, it's just now fused with another piece."
Ravel then walked up. "If you're looking for new peerage members, I wouldn't mind becoming a part of your peerage." She said shyly.
"Are you sure?" Colton asked her.
"Yes. You are really nice, and I do owe you for saving me." Ravel explained.
"Ravel, you don't owe me anything. If you're doing this purely out of wanting to repay me, then don't."
"But, I still want to join, regardless."
Colton sighed. "Alright. I'll make you a bishop if you don't mind."
Colton held out a bishop piece and if glowed and flew into Ravel.
Ravel glowed red a little before the glowing stopped.
"I feel... amazing." Ravel said with sparkles in her eyes. She held out a hand and a brilliant fireball appeared.
"You are now half demon and half devil. Your fire has been amplified due to the amount of potential that you now hold." Towa explained.
Mira and Fu walk over. Mira still had his signature serious look on his face, but he gave Colton a nod.
"Oh, wow. Father approved of your performance." Fu said, throwing an arm around Colton's shoulder.
Colton lightly elbowed him in the gut, not enough for it to hurt, but enough to get him off.
"Well, as one of the 4 Satans, allow me to congratulate you on getting your own peerage." Sirzechs said as he held out his hand.
"Thank you sir." Colton said as he accepted the handshake.
Later once the party was over, Colton and the rest went over to the Phenex household to help Ravel collect her stuff.
All of the other ex-members of Riser's peerage were also collecting their stuff. They all decided to go live their lives normally, with the guarantee that they could live in peace. Most of them decided to move back into their hometowns, while others began to travel.
Once Ravel's stuff was all packed, Colton, Koneko and Ravel all made it back to Colton's house.
"And this will be your room." Colton said as he put down a box in front of the door to the room right across from his.
Ravel walked into the room and looked around. "Very spacious." She commented.
"My mother used spacial magic to make everything bigger than it should." Colton explained.
Colton and Koneko help Ravel with unpacking, which didn't take long since she didn't really have much other than clothing. She didn't have much due to Riser not allowing her to have many things.
Later, when they unpacked, Colton was cooking dinner.
Ravel and Koneko were seated at the table.
"I've been meaning to ask you something Koneko." Ravel said.
"What's up?" Koneko replied.
"I get why I'm going to be living here from now on, as I'm now apart of Colton's peerage, but why are you here? I know your apart of Rias Gremory's peerage." Ravel asked.
"I live here with my boyfriend." Koneko responds.
"Oh? And who is that?" Ravel asked.
"The only guy here, who do you think?" Koneko deadpans.
"Oh!" Ravel said in surprise. She then looks away with a small look of disappointment in her eyes.
Colton then walked in. "Food... is served." He said with a dramatic flare as he set the food down on the table.
"Hey Master, can I ask a question." Ravel asked.
"First: don't call me master. This peerage will not be one of master and servant. We are equals, not bound by status. Second: yes, what's your question?"
"Alright Ma- I mean, Colton. What was that form your mother took?"
"Oh yeah. I'm curious as well." Koneko said.
"Right, I promised to explain that." Colton said as he sat down.
They three of them began to dig into the food.
"That form is known as a Demon God form."
"Demon God?" Ravel inquired.
"Basically it's a form that we demons can achieve, although hardly any have achieved it, mostly among the high class. It is a powerful set of transformations that allows the user to be on par with gods. I've really only seen my mother use that form when I was a child, and she was explaining it to me since I noticed it be mentioned in a book. The particular version of the Demon God transformations that my mother used is known as Demon God, or Goddess in her case since she's a female demon, Dark Factor Enhancement."
"Dark Factor?" Koneko asked.
"It's a type of dark energy that originated from a previous Demon King, Mechikabura. His energy was so powerful and dark that when he died, it formed into a sphere known as the Dark Factor. This sphere could be used to enhance a demon and give them an enormous boost in power." Colton explained.
"So your mother used the Dark Factor to give herself a powerful form?" Ravel questioned.
"She achieved Demon God on her own, she just used a small amount of the Dark Factor to give herself an enhanced form."
"Am I able to achieve Demon God?" Ravel asked, innocently.
"Since your now a demon, yes." Colton answered.
"Do you have it unlocked?" Koneko asked.
"No. I'm working on trying to get it though." Colton said, rubbing the back of his head.
"We'll just have to work on getting it together right?" Ravel asked.
Colton smiled. "Yeah."
After a few minutes, they all finish eating.
"Where's Uria?" Koneko asked.
"He should be here soon." Colton said, looking at the clock on the wall.
"When you say Uria do you mean-" Ravel was cut off when Uria came flying in through the window.
Uria flew over to Colton and wrapped around him like usual.
Ravel was in disbelief. "That's the Mythic Demon: Uria!"
"Oh yeah, Ravel meet my familiar: Uria." Colton said.
"Y-y-your familiar!?" Ravel exclaimed.
"Crazy, I know." Koneko said.
Later, they all were getting ready for bed.
As they were walking upstairs, Colton turned his head to see Ravel as best he could. "Remember, Koneko and I are right across the hall. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask either of us."
"Okay. I'll be sure to remember that." Ravel said.
After some more time getting ready for bed, Ravel was sitting in her new bed.
'I think I'm going to like it here.' She thought to herself.
Soon, she fell asleep.
