The week for Sakura passed so slow, she had not seen Sasuke in the practice room for the whole week, also she got too busy with her projects that she didn't bother to text him. The only text they both exchanged was in Saturday night, she never received one after for the whole week.
According to Hinata, Sasuke did not show up in his housing which Naruto blabbed to Hinata. Sasuke spent the whole week in his parents' house, which was an hour away, so every time school ended, Sasuke would immediately drive home. It was not new though according to Naruto.
Sakura, however, felt guilty and confided to her friends on what happened, of course they gushed about it, the forehead kiss that they knew, Sakura was too shy and private to let them know about the first and second kiss. Sakura sighed, now it feels like there's another kiss happening the way she said first and second kiss.
Ino smacked Sakura's head with a rolled-up paper, waking her friend from her daydream.
" Girl, the finals is tomorrow, focus. ", Ino reminded to which Temari and Tenten laughed. Her friends kept her company as she felt lonely in the room, Karin has their own singing room in their department so it was not surprising not to see her, Sasuke however was not around, which worried her cause she doesn't want him not winning the competition without much a fight.
" Uh, I don't know if this is useful info, but yesterday Neji and I went to dinner at town, after that, we went by Itachi's penthouse, since Sasuke was there, Neji just went to drop off Sasuke's notebook that Sasuke had left at the housing. Though, from what I heard from Neji, Sasuke was busy practicing in his recording room. ", Sakura nodded at Tenten which eased her mind.
" Yeah, uh, we should practice. ", right now Sakura was doing a vocal practice without instruments or backup singers, tomorrow morning she would be having her final practice. Now, she needs to focus, the payment for her tuition is on the line.
The day came and again Izumi has been so kind, to dress her up after their scheduled practice at the gym, Sasuke was scheduled yesterday, so she didn't see him, Karin was scheduled earlier, when she arrived Karin had just exited the area and embraced her with a good luck.
While in the middle of her practice, Izumi showed up waiting for her to wrap up before being dragged to Izumi's couture house in town. She of course dragged her friends, thankfully Izumi's has a van to fit them all.
She was now at the backstage with makeup artists smearing her face with all kinds of liquid. Karin was first to perform, followed by Sasuke then her. Izumi was with her for the whole day, until the very moment. Ino is also, right now with her while the girls are looking for seats in the crowd, the two girls will be joining shortly after Sakura's get up.
The dress Sakura was wearing right now was Izumi's design who had it hidden until it was a perfect day for the world to see, she felt honored and lucky for it. The pink dress was one of a kind, it was crafted from a combination of floral-patterned fabric with color accents like purple, red, sky blue, green, orange, and yellow tulle adorned with foil prints. It features elegant drapery at the bust, complemented by corset-style accents cinching her small waist that she was very proud of. The front showcases a mini length while the back extends into a stunning maxi train. Delicate frills adorn the back portion of the lengthy skirt, adding an extra touch of charm and flair. The dress shaped her body so well and had made her look even taller, with how exposed her legs were.
Izumi was at her back doing final touches on her hair by fixing the silver petals on her hair, while Ino was packing up her stuffs. Sakura turned around in her swivel chair and embraced Izumi.
" I owe you so much, I'll pay up for everything! ", Izumi giggled at her and swept her bangs.
" Don't, you are actually doing me a favor, you wearing my gown would gain much more recognition, like what you did with my corset dress. ", Sakura pouted at her but then smiled.
" Ey, you owe me too. ", Ino intervened which had the two laughing.
" Of course! I'll buy you a venti at Starbucks tomorrow. ", Sakura said which had Ino smiling.
" Hell yeah! Extra whipcream too, please. ", Sakura laughed at her. Soon, Tayuya entered and said Itachi and their friends are looking for them. The two bid good bye leaving Sakura alone in her room, she looked up as Karin was called, the stage turned dim. Everything about the production was chef's kiss, as they were broadcasted live all over Konoha and in the school's channel in a streaming site. The school budgeted so much from sponsors and artists and producers came to scout future singers.

Because of the dimlit area of the gym, anybody can barely see them, and the place was filled with staff. Sakura smiled as she saw Shizune who embraced her with good luck. The woman had helped her for this week on reaching the pitch of the song as it was too high, Shizune became her vocal teacher for the duration of the competition.

Which had Sakura in a jumble of emotions, she had not heard or seen the man for a week and it wondered her what he was feeling regarding last week. Soon, a a yellow glow appeared at the back of the stage, showing silhouette of Sasuke in the middle of the stage standing with a mic on his hand, Sakura could see the faint lines of the back-up dancers and musicians at the back as well, but then her eyes were on Sasuke.
From her vantage point at the bottom of the stage, Sakura gazed up at Sasuke, her heart pounding in her chest. The school competition's finals were in full swing, and the atmosphere was electric. She couldn't tear her eyes away from the boy who had occupied her every thought for the past month.

The angelic voices of the backup dancers opened his performance followed by his voice, resonant and filled with emotion, reached every corner of the room. The stage was bathed in a gentle, ethereal purple glow emanating from the back. White lights danced in the background, casting a mesmerizing ambiance. From above, soft beams of light showered down on Sakura who sat with her legs bent slightly on the sofa exposing her other leg, illuminating her figure in a captivating display. While making her way towards the pianist as she leaned back on the piano as she sang the second verse.
On the pre-chorus she went back to the middle of the stage ready to sing the chorus. The chorus of "Quit" took on a new resonance as they flowed from Sakura's lips. Every word seemed to carry a weight of significance, a personal connection to the song's meaning. Her voice, tender and soulful, reached out to the audience, inviting them into the intimate space she had created.
Another interlude came and she still danced gracefully and did one twirl as she sang the post chorus and the outro of the song as she finally found Sasuke's eyes boring into hers as he sat in the front raw, beside him was Karin and Suigetsu. She sang, confidently, the lyrics while walking backwards, until she reached the sofa.
As she sang the last lines of the song she slowly lifted her hands towards Sasuke with airiness in her voice from all the moving and high pitch lines while sitting back again on her sofa.

They had spent the whole night together after the finals, still in their outfits, Sasuke took her back to the campus lake, which was the most beautiful thing, it was only her, Sasuke, the moon and the stars. They talked like they knew each other for years, they didn't kiss again but there was a different spark, they talked and laughed, and it was for the first time that she had heard Sasuke laugh, not chuckle, laugh. Sasuke had embraced her when she shivered, he'd constantly touch her face, her hand, her hair and her forehead. The night felt so magical for her, he called her the next day and they talked non-stop through videocall.
Monday came, he didn't call, according to Naruto he didn't show up to school, things went south, he disappeared, like thin air. Next thing she knew, Sasuke was homeschooled, and Kakashi was the assigned teacher for it. It worried her and Kakashi won't disclose a single information neither did Naruto and Neji. Sai and Shikamaru had no idea then again they don't care much about it.
Ino who knew Sasuke, also didn't know what happened. She felt ghosted, no she was ghosted, so she spent the last few months of school, focusing on her studies. Graduation came and the school decided to set a different date for each department for the graduation ceremony due to a number of visitors and graduates. Sadly, she won't be seeing a glimpse of Sasuke. He somehow went as he has many distinctive awards and had placed 1st for the whole business department. Sakura ofcourse came first as well in the medical department and had already received offers to work in different hospitals, she somehow took Tsunade's offer and worked under her wing.
1 year ago she would have cried ugly about why Sasuke ghosted her, but it was 1 year ago, now her heart just cried silently. She had just experienced love the type that she wants to commit her whole life to, but it wasn't meant to be.
" Sakura, seriously we need to celebrate this promotion! ", Ino rambled on, Sakura sighed as she exits her office while her blond friend still followed her.
" Ino, I got promoted 2 months ago! ", Sakura hissed earning an eye roll from the blonde.
" Yeah, but you are going to the summit, to be officially introduced as Tsunade's apprentice! That's a fucking promotion. ", Ino exclaimed, ignoring the weird stares from patients.\
" Language dear. Out for lunch? ", Tenten said as she slipped between the two. Sakura nodded at her.
" I just have to give this to the station then we can head out to the cafeteria. ", Sakura waved the folder and approached the station and found Hinata standing and looking a huge bouquet of flowers.
" Ooooh, Hinata from Naruto? ", Sakura teased as she handed the files to a nurse who took it from her.
" Oh no, actually it's for you. ", Sakura raised a brow then laughed.
" Yeah from you forehead. ", Ino said as she waved a card that she took from the bouquet, it was a black card with a white cursive font with her name only in it.
" O-oh, from who? "
" Sasori? ", Tenten guessed to which Ino snorted.
" Gaara? ", Hinata said to which Ino hummed.
" A delivery guy just sent it here. ", Temari interjected as she approached the four in her nurse outfit. The four continued talking and Sakura looked down on the flowers and touched them. Whoever sent them was very thoughtful.
" Probably from a patient. ", Sakura whispered then smiled.
The following week, while Sakura had exited the operating room, the surgery took 5 hours in total, but it took a toll on her, she had not left the hospital for 24 hours now, she just want to shower in her room and maybe take a nap in her couch. When she entered her room though, there was a basket full of pomegranate and the same black card with her name written on it.
She felt a bit creeped out since only a few knew that she likes pomegrenates. She however decided to just indulge on it later after her bath.
The following week, she entered her apartment, just a few blocks away from the hospital and was greeted with a box, and on top of it is another black card with her name in it. She opened the box and was amazed at the medical books she found, the rare and expensive ones. She smiled at this and spent the whole night reading the medical books, trying to indulge with the new knowledge she'll be gaining.
Another week passed by, and she expected to receive another gift but nothing came, she sighed and maybe it'll come the next day, but 1 month later, nothing came. She was a bit disappointed at this and just ignored it. Maybe somebody was just being grateful for her since she had also received countless gifts before from patients she had saved or cured.
Sakura exits her office and locks it behind her. Her shift had just ended, she was now wearing a simple white silk short dress, she was off to go to the club where she'll be meeting Ino and the girls for their monthly girls' night out. The lab coat and files were on her hand, while a small purse slung on her shoulder. She didn't mind the dress, but the hospital staff rarely saw her in skimpy outfits, so she felt a bit conscious. But she'd rather swallow that than walk home to change, she was already an hour late for the meet up. Lucky that the girls all had day offs while she was working and had to work overtime when a nurse fucked her job, and Sakura had to clean up the mess, before it reaches Tsunade's ears.
She walked to the station, to drop off some files, and her labcoat to have it washed, she was talking to Yugao, a lovely and small nurse, about their day when someone called her name. She looked up and saw the man she had almost forgotten, standing in the middle of the hallway holding a bouquet of white flowers. He was wearing a black button-up shirt with the first two buttons open tucked in black slacks. Sakura stared at him, shocked, he looked much more handsome than before, she could see the muscle underneath the fabric.
She didn't want to cause drama right now, cause she's at work and every single female is ogling at the man that she had kissed a year ago. Sakure could feel the tears threatening to fall, so she ducked her head and walked past him.
" Sakura, please, hear me out. ", Sakura let the tears fall, when she neared the exit and ignored the man who had followed her. She walked to the side, waiting for a cab to stop when Sasuke grabbed her hand forced her to face him.
" Let me explain, please. ", Sasuke whispered as he wiped the tears on her face.
" Explain what? That you played with me? ", Sakura angrily whispered back, ready to leave when Sasuke held her by her face.
" I had to leave, I had no choice. I-. . . ", Sasuke looked around then moved to grab her hand and drag her to a black sports car. Sasuke opened the door for her, and nodded at it.
" Please. ", Sakura bit her lip and went inside his car. Sasuke went to his side and didn't hesitate to drive off.
" Where are you heading to? ", Sasuke asked, as he glanced down at her outfit.
" To meet the girls at Night Lotus. ", Sakura whispered absentmindedly as she stared at the city lights. Sasuke thought he has enough time to talk to her before they reach her destination, it was a 20-minute drive from where they are right now.
" Madara, my grandfather was planning to retire, he's far from here, to get away from his money-hungry children, except for my father who has his own company. The only people he trusted with his wealth were my family and Shisui as we preferred to live from our own hardwork. I grew up with Madara being there for me when my father was too busy with Itachi that's why he requested for my presence, as he didn't know how long he'd live since he was getting so old, so I flew to him, for months, we talked cause he wanted me to take over the family business, despite my aunts uncles distaste to the decision. However, that would also conflict to my father's company as he was planning to retire this year as planned. So we agreed that I will be taking over my grandfather's company while Shisui will be handling my father's on my behalf or Itachi, until he's fit to. Itachi has all the reasons not to take over for now, cause for that span of 1 year, we found out Itachi has Tuberculosis.
