Hisoka was not having a great day. Yes, he won the match against his former adversary, but there was still an issue here.
Even though Gon was learning faster than he anticipitated and trying hard to reach at his level, which made him feel very elated for some reason. He wished to push Gon at an even higher level than he was. That would make his fight even more intensifying and exciting.
Hisoka loved the thrill of battle when his opponent was capable of putting some effort to reach at his level. Nen worked similar to that, as the stronger your resolve was, the superior your Nen ability would be. Thpugh he often wondered if that was how most Nen user pulled off some crazy feats. A question that still eluded him to this day.
It was fine for him to wait and getting stronger through his Bungee Gum, because he never wished to explore his other Hatsu ability. His will to see the ultimate form of his Bungee Gum had been driving him to this day. To prove the world that there were still ways to reach a level of finnese that he was eager to develop. Yet, he lacked the time to reach there.
The boy named Gon, whom he met at Hunter Exam, was brimming with great potential than his past enemies. Despite being so young, the boy managed to grow his aura reserves at a huge degree. And he never did the same training that Hisoka had gone through.
What if Hisoka himself tutored him than that Wing?
The training regimen of Hisoka was cruel and mind numbing, so the chances were that Gon might succumbed to death.
Hisoka wanted to fight Gon in his best condition, than a broken toy with uncreative ideas. That was his plans with Gon at this moment.
Then there was Killua Zoldyck, the heir of Zoldyck family who also attracted his attention. Though his intentions were to fight against this new Zoldyck as well. A part of him was sure that Killua had a blockade that prevented him from using his full potential. Compared to Gon who would even fight against the opponents stronger than him, Killua would never do the same.
Hisoka sighed, "What a waste of potential. Illumi, you are truly an idiot. But that is fine. I will wait for his possible growth as a true fighter."
Shaking away the thoughts of the white-haired heir, Hisoka remembered the face of blonde girl who joined the Heaven's Arena alongwith those two.
The girl was indeed strong, if she could walk through his Ren without any Ten. He tried to push her more, but her mind was too strong. There were two possible reasons for this.
Either she was using an innate Nen Ability of hers to protect herself from him, if the absence of Ten upon her was any indication, or, she had gone through worse than him.
Only the strongest of the Nen users had this type of brazenness.
Hisoka licked his lips in excitement.
Three youths with untapped potential and there were completely unaware of it. He truly wanted to fight with them and break them in every sense. The fight would be legendary between them.
Unfortunately, she had gone away the next she reached the 200th floor. It was not something he anticipated at that point. His plan was to use Gon to push her into the fight against him. She would be an excellent scapegoat to manipulate the boys, the same could be said for her.
"This is not good. It is like the fate itself was against our eventual battle. Well, no matter. I will do my best to find her. Until then, I have Gon to relieve me from my thirst. I can't imagine the amount of pleasure he will give me. Hehehe..."
The train had finally arrived at the Asharf City, or what the world called the City of Jewels. It was the city whose main source of income was the export of rare jewels, cut diamonds and precious minerals. The city was famous for its exotic architecture and the Bay of Crystals.
However, the city had its own dark side as well. With all this power, there was also corruption amongst many natives. Their arrogance over the fact that their wealth would last for eternity, had turned the people of this city to look down upon others. It was true that they had no worries about their future generations, as their dependence upon the minerals had caused a serious issue on their mentality.
And so, despite having all the material wealth in their country, they also suffered with the consequences of this nature's gift.
One of the main problem that the city faced was the lack of good water supplies and agriculture. The soil might had the abundant amount of minerals, but it was the soil infertility that brought the food scarcity in this region. They had to constantly buy the food from the other countries with rich supplies of minerals, to fill their bellies. Rather than learning from this, Asharf City started to accumulate a lot of resources and raised the costs after every year. The result was pretty obvious.
The city that could have the most successful life, had become a cesspool of greed and sloth. They did not want to invest, as that would be too much for them. Cheap labour cost and easy supplies ran their hearts, it was their hedonistic lifestyle that made this city a beautiful yet the most disgusting location to visit.
To protect their source of wealth, they also brought powerful Hunters in here, as a sort of bodyguard. Normally, any normal Hunter would oppose such tasks, but the Hunter Association lacked the resources to maintain themselves, and so they complied, albeit reluctantly. And so, the winds of corruption of this city, had affected the Hunter Association in certain fields as well.
Unfortunately, they were miserable against the political prowess and economy of this single city.
Only time would tell the ripple effects of their corrupted bureaucrats, who were slowly eating the Hunter Association from inside.
The tourists and businessmen left their train's compartments and went to their destination. Amongst all these rich looking, high profile travellers, there was one girl who attracted their attention. Her clothes were quite ordinary and her backpack was quite shabby too. Though her rather firm look and beautiful appearance drifted their eyes. It was not odd for Hunters with similar looks to arrive here. They did came here for fulfilling their darkest desires at the strip shows.
As she walked away from the station, the gazes fell to their usual tasks. Though they didn't forget the face of an angel.
.
.
.
While she stared at the tall skyscrapers of the city with awe, her destination was already set. The city was incomparable to the likes of Baharuth Empire, in terms of advanced architecture and customs. Though there were still some foulness in the air.
Before coming to this city, she collected the information about Wing's teacher. The same teacher who taught him the various techniques, albeit a water down version of a normal Hunter. As far as Wing knew, he was not really good in the advanced version of the fourfold Nen principles. To understand the Nen, she needed an experienced trainer than the likes of Wing.
"Biscuit Krueger, the Gem Hunter. This term Hunter is coming too many times. I need a better source of information than the normal people. The Hunter's site is hiding information from me, so the Internet is going to be useless. May be...?"
She thought about using her spells upon Biscuit, but her initial experiment showed how wrong she was. Even someone like Wing could weaken the effects of her mind control spell. She had to use it so many times, that she wondered if her mana was about to dry up before she could gain what she wanted from him.
Therefore, she left the place to find an actual Hunter and to request her on teaching her the true Nen arts. It would be hard, but she would a way... perhaps.
"No matter. I will just complete my current task. I will think about the future later."
She nodded at herself and then approached a nearby person in suit, who was looking in his mobile phone, a type scientific technology that let him to talk with another person of a faraway land. This mobile phone had several other features that were close to magic of 1st tier magic spells.
"Excuse me."
"Hmm,... yes?"
The man in question was around the age of 40 and seemed akin to the businessman that she had seen in the train. He looked annoyed at first, for being disturbed over something important, but then his face changed when his eyes stared at the petite figure of Keno. His condescending gaze were staring at her with lust and subtle sadism. Though Keno hid her disgust well. She had her priorities to complete.
"Can you please tell me the address of Hotel Amethyst?"
"Ah, that hotel. Of course, I will."
His words were sweet as honey, but his stare was anything, but pure. She hesitated to stay in his presence for a moment.
"I will take you there, if you don't mind."
"Eh? You will?" She asked in surprise. At this point, she was sure that something was up. Her guards were up.
"Indeed. That place is my favorite. By the way, why do you want to go there?"
"Ah, there's an acquaintance of mine who lives there. I am going to meet her. Can't you just tell me please? I will find the way to reach the Hotel."
"No, that won't do." Now, the man became even more upfront with his voice. He continued, "There are a lot dangerous places in this city. I can't let a young girl like you to move here without any guardian."
Keno glared at him with a sense of understanding. Apparently, she had her suspicions over the internal matters of the city, but now she confirmed it.
She had to find Biscuit on her than asking a pedophile like this man.
"[Charm]."
She casted the 1st tier spell that put a single target into a trance like state. Under the effect of this spell, she could order the target to complete one task, after that the spell would no longer work. It was the weakest mind control spell that compelled the target's mind for a limited period of time.
The man in suit stood there for the time being. The reason why she used the spell, because of the cameras on the street. The pedophile in front of her, was not going to leave her side, and might cause a commotion if she refused his offer bluntly. From the clothes alone, the man in question looked like a high profile person with a lot of attitude. Making an enemy out of him, would be a pain in the ass. Killing him was also going to be an headache, as she was unaware of his status.
The city was already full of Hunters or other Nen users, who might be attracted by the commotion. Thus, she chose to cast the spell in whispers and gave her command.
"Tell me, what is the proper address of Hotel Amethyst? Maje sure to elaborate about it."
"The Hotel Amethyst is just 2 km away from the station. You easily reach there if you just went along the road. You can even ask taxi drivers for the route, as most travellers stay there. Whether they were rich merchants or Hunters. The Hotel has the colour similar to that of an amethyst and the entrance of the Hotel has a jewellery shop in front of it. The Hotel hosts great galas and parties related to jewels, trade programs and..."
He went on with his description about everything related to the Hotel Amethyst and didn't stop, until Keno felt satisfied with the knowledge.
"I see."
Nodding at his explanation, Keno left him standing there while, she had time. She had a taxi to catch.
The girl, or the woman, in question was feeling tired today. She had been in this city to find the important gems for her collection. But so far, she had seen jewels that seemed very normal and common to find.
As a Gem Hunter, Biscuit Krueger was the expert when it came to gems and their locations where their composition should be higher than necessary. And so she arrived here in the Asharf City, one of the most expensive cities in the world, with a goal to locate the one of the nine rarest gems in the whole world.
But so far, nothing came in her hand. At one Pont, she thought about leaving this city and finding the gem in a lost abandoned mines. Her thoughts quickly died down when thought about the absurdity of locating those gems. She knew the history of the gems she was searching for, and the cost of each gem in the current world. Therefore, finding those gems took her utmost priority.
She was not the only one, as the City was full of many other Hunters, who were competing against her. It was a race which required the attention, willpower and craziness of the highest caliber.
Compared to the others, Biscuit was not doing this out for the sake of money, but her unadulterated passion for those jewels.
"Ah, the jewels of "Navaratnas", the most precious our of all! One day, you all will become the part of my gem collection. Ah, the jewels and their beauty will become a sight to behold. I must do my best to collect them, as fast as I can."
While her mind wandered in her dream of gems, she quickly heard the knocks on her door which brought her back to the reality.
"Who is knocking my door at this moment?"
She asked to herself and went near to the door, to better hear the cause of this sudden disturbance in her most important work.
" Who else is it ?" She asked with a slight irritation in voice. Of course, she was angry for being disturbed.
"Excuse me, Miss Biscuit, but there is someone who wants to meet you."
Biscuit blinked. As far as she knew, she had ordered the hotel staff to reject anyone from meeting her. She didn't like any sort of Interference, while she was researching on her "mission".
She thought about scolding the servant, but quickly dismissed that thought. There was a possibility that the staff was under some type of manipulation. There was also the possibility that it was an emergency meeting from the higher ups of Hunter Association. Though she didn't dissmiss the former reason, the chances of her order being disregarded by the Hotel staff was putting her mind off.
"Who does want to meet me?"
"Apologies, but I don't know. Though she calls herself Keno Fasris Invern."
Biscuit caught the name of the person, or girl named
Keno, which she never heard of in her whole life.
Was Keno another who wanted to discover the Navaratnas? Or, was she an enemy, who wanted to steal her research and collections?
Biscuit could not tell, but she was eager to know tge answers. But she found few things from the servant's words. He was definitely not lying about him not knowing of Keno. This meant that Keno was not a resident of this hotel at all.
"I need to be cautioned. This girl must be a danger to me and my innocent gems."
Running away would most likely make Biscuit as an aggressor and approaching this Keno might be fatal, she needed a plan, but she lacked time.
Making this Keno wait too much, might cause some problems for her. She might even be suspicious of Biscuit for being late. So, tge only thing Biscuit could do was to meet the girl. This way, she could assess this Keno herself.
On top of that, the servant seemed to be under some manipulation effect. It might be possible that this Keno was a Manipulator, who could even break into orders of the victim's higher ups. To confirm her growing suspicion, she asked one last question.
"Is she alone?"
"Yes."
The answer came immediately. Either this Keno was definitely alone, or she had planned ahead of this question. One way or another, Biscuit had to comply.
No matter how she liked to be stalked by other person, she had her boundaries.
"Alright. I will come down in 10 minutes. Tell her to wait."
"Understood."
The servant's footsteps started to die down as she concluded that today was not going to be a normal day.
