Foreword: Vegeta and Cell round 2 perfect edition. Let's get this show on the road.
Vegeta hated to admit it, but he was wishing he had listened to Bansuri when he told him that letting Cell become perfect was a bad idea, every punch, kick, knee and elbow strike easily blocked, parried or dodged by Cell regardless of how hard he pushed himself. Vegeta also hated to admit that he needed help and that the only person that would be willing to step in and assist with the fight is his own son. After a break in the attacks Vegeta was dishing out, Vegeta took some deep breaths and did the unthinkable.
Vegeta: "...Trunks, help me deal with this monster"
Trunks gave his father a shocked look and Cell raised his eyebrow in mild surprise.
Cell: "Is the world ending already? Vegeta asking for help...This is definitely the weirdest time line"
Vegeta and Trunks rolled their eyes at the commentary and both fought together, their attacks actually landing now they had teamed up. However much like Piccolo and Bansuri, they too lacked the power for a finishing strike that would put down Cell.
On the Lookout the efforts of the Saiyan father and Half Saiyan son were being viewed by crystal ball by Bansuri and Piccolo, eventually joined by Dende and Popo. Bansuri politely thanked Dende for taking the job and offered congratulations for ascending to the throne of God. Dende rolled their eyes at the joke and continued watching Vegeta and Trunks attempting to fight Cell, the latter most person very obviously toying with the father-son duo and consistantly knocking them on to their asses.
Dende: "That doesn't look good..."
Bansuri: "To be fair Vegeta helped the enemy get to that point. He needs to learn actions have consequences and being arrogent leads to worse ones. Earlier he was chasing me around the world and blasted off an arm for this, he deserves the asskicking"
Dende: "...fair enough"
Piccolo: "Settling in well Dende?"
Dende: "Oh! Yes very well, Mr Popo has been very helpful for getting my bearings"
Piccolo: "That's good to hear, thank you Mr Popo"
Popo: "It is alright, assisting the guardian of earth is my responsibility and I do it with pride"
Bansuri: "And you're doing very well Mr Popo. Keep up the good work"
Mr Popo nodded with appreciation and walked away to get the broom so he could sweep the Lookout. With so many visitors recently Popo needed to clean up more often.
Trunks: 'Damn it! He's playing with us!'
Cell decided to use Tien's Multiform Technique to split himself into 2 and fight Vegeta and Trunks one on one at the same time and even using tag-team tactics such as swinging themselves at the Saiyans to punch or kick them with a bit more flair. Trunks had been forced to go beyond the ascended form of Grade 2 Super Saiyan his father was using and into Grade 3, bulking himself up and getting a lot more attack power but making himself too slow to hit either Cell at all, both of them pushing Trunks into attacks made by the other copy or Vegeta.
Cell 1: "As fun as it's been to toy with the two of you-"
Cell 2: "I've gotten bored, how about we finish this?"
Both Cells merged back into one and Cell started taking the fight more seriously, shattering the Saiyan armor they were wearing with punches and kicks and slaming the father and son into each other hard enough to force them out of Super Saiyan entirely. The two Saiyans lay embedded into the mountain as Cell floated above them.
Cell: "Any last words?"
Trunks: "Yeah; even if you kill us? Goku will wipe you out and no one will know you ever existed"
Trunks glared down Cell, the bio-android looking thoughtful and even slightly bothered by the statement. Whether it was Vegeta's, King Cold's or Frieza's DNA, something about not being the center of attention bothered Cell and it bothered him enough to make Cell cease the energy attack he was going to use to put down Vegeta and Trunks.
Cell: "...no one will know I ever existed huh? Alright then, change of plans; I'll make my perfection public. Keep your eyes on the news"
Cell gave a half-hearted wave as he turned and flew away, leaving a confused Trunks and Vegeta. After a few moments of waiting to make sure Cell had really left them, Vegeta set about healing himself first then his son.
Trunks: "...you could have beated him before he transformed"
Vegeta: "I know"
Trunks: "But now neither of us can"
Vegeta: "I know!"
Trunks: "..."
Vegeta: "Don't say it"
Trunks: "...You should have listened to Bansuri"
Vegeta: "Uuuuuuurgh"
Vegeta gave a groan of annoyance and teleported with his son back to the Lookout to see Bansuri and Piccolo giving him flat annoyed looks while a new Namekian looked unsure and decided to walk back into the building. Bansuri lifted an eyebrow expectantly and Vegeta took a long deep breath before starting to speak.
Vegeta: "I'm sorry that I didn't take your advice."
Bansuri lifted the other eyebrow and his chin, silently prompting Vegeta to continue with an expression that said 'and?'.
Vegeta: "I was... wrong about being strong enough to deal with Cell in his perfect form. I was...arrogant"
Vegeta winced at the continue motion he got from Bansuri and steeled himself for the next thing he was going to say.
Vegeta: (deep inhale) "Please forgive me and the wrongs I have done against you"
The was a long stretch of silence after that statement and after Bansuri and Piccolo made eye contact with each other, Bansuri looked back at Vegeta.
Bansuri: "...I'll think about it during the year my father and I are in the Time Chamber"
Vegeta: "Fair enough"
Bansuri. Piccolo, Trunks and Vegeta turned to the entrance of the Time Chamber, feeling Goku and Gohan's energy as the door opened. Piccolo and Bansuri were impressed by the power now held by the two, Trunks was amazed and Vegeta was annoyed that once again both Goku and Gohan had gotten stronger then him. All of them however noticed that Goku and Gohan were in Super Saiyan but didn't appear to be putting in any effort to keep it active. Bansuri and Piccolo smirked, they knew that they did the same thing with Super Saiyan as they did with Kaioken; kept the energy internalized and minimized the cost to use it.
Bansuri: "Oh good, my theory on Super Saiyan being similar to Kaioken was right"
Gohan: "Yes, although it turns out the two can't be used together due to both requiring a similar 'push' to perform so to speak"
Piccolo/Bansuri: "Ah."
Goku: "So what happened while we were training?"
Bansuri: "Cell managed to get Lapis through stealth and Lazuli due to Vegeta being a prideful, arrogent prick. Cell has his perfect form and has told us to 'keep an eye on the news'"
Goku: "Huh, wonder what he's gonna do?"
Bansuri: (shrugs) "Not sure, but I think Father and I should have a turn in the Time Chamber regardless"
Goku: "Huh? Oh! Okay!"
Goku stepped out of the way of the Time Chamber with Gohan following suit and allowing Bansuri and Piccolo to walk into the room, closing the door behind themselves.
Trunks: "So you got past Super Saiyan?"
Gohan: "Yep, I think we got to a full-fledged transformation above it"
Vegeta: "If you're talking about the form that makes you too muscular to scratch your back don't bother, it's too slow and useless"
Goku: "Oh we know about that. Nah, this form is way better"
Trunks: "Are you going to show us?"
Gohan: "Cell would sense it"
Trunks: "Ah, fair enough"
Inside the Room of Spirit and Time, Bansuri and Piccolo looked at the accommodations and the area that they were going to train in and after getting their bearings set about establishing goals.
Piccolo: "I think we need to push Kaioken to it's absolute limit if we're going to take down Cell. Our current limit is times 30 so we should push to get to times 50 within 3 to 4 months. Our bodies should naturally toughen up and become stronger from the stress we're going to be putting ourselves through so this should make us strong enough to compete"
Bansuri: "Sounds good to me, shall we get started?"
Piccolo smirked and nodded, the two of them walking away from the living area to avoid damaging it with the energies they're forcing their bodies to pump out. The red auras bursting out of them as they push the technique as hard as they can handle, exhausting themselves, waiting for their energy and bodies to recover and regenerate and starting again. This would be a painful way of pushing past their limits but Piccolo and Bansuri grit their teeth and did it without complaint. Would their efforts pay off? Would they be able to stand up to the now perfect Cell? Find out next time on Some Help.
