Thorin shows up on Bilbo's doorstep and does not explain why he's there—he just goes about doing housework for Bilbo, staring at Bilbo, and frowning. Five times Bilbo doesn't ask why Thorin is in Bag End of all places, and one time he does.

Raven and Thorin take up work in Bree. Raven and Thorin enjoy each other, but as their relationship grows, so does a lingering threat in the shadows! The threat will do everything to tear Raven from her beloved Dwarf! But the Mighty Dwarf King swore to protect his love! And Thorin grows more deeply rooted in his vow when he sees….something! Bofur didn't intend to start trouble when he set out for the Lonely Mountain in the company of Thorin Oakenshield. He just wanted a fresh start, a third chance, and perhaps to enjoy a refreshing ale or four on a sunny balcony along the way. How was he to know she would walk by and send everything all topsy-turvy? I'd do anything for her, even confront the doomsman of the Valar.

As Gandalf meddles in things he shouldn't, she is pushed to her limits.
