Louise stood still as her mother brushed her hair in preparation to cut it. For once the mirror was taken out of its wooden covering and she could see herself, if she dared to look up. Her mother was being gentle, as it was morning and Louise had done nothing to anger her…yet.

"Pass me the scissors," Mary Grey, her mother, ordered. She held out her hand and Louise obediently grabbed the scissors from the sink and placed them gently into her mother's hand.

"Your uncle will be over for breakfast," Mary stated, as she began to trim her daughter's hair. She then tightened her grip in warning. "I expect you to be on your best behaviour."

"Yes, mother," Louise replied softly. Why would Uncle Marcus be coming for breakfast? She thought. Then it occurred to her, today was the Aptitude Test, the test that determined her future. They weren't supposed to prepare, so why would her uncle be coming? He wasn't the type to just wish you luck.

"I mean it." Mary hissed, she wrapped her daughter's hair around her fist and pulled harshly on it. Louise yelped in pain as her head was forced back. "He was generous enough to help you with your Aptitude Test, you will show your appreciation."

"Yes, mother," Louise mumbled.

Mary smiled at her daughter's obedience, then quickly tied it back into a braid for school. She then went downstairs to help her husband with breakfast, knowing that Louise would clean up the mess her haircut left behind.

Once the mess was cleaned up, Louise made her way downstairs, where she came face to face with her uncle, Marcus Eaton, leader of Abnegation. She looked down as he looked her up and down, eventually he gave a curt nod of approval to her mother.

"Hello, sister," Marcus said to Mary.

"Good morning, may I speak with my niece alone?" Marcus asked.

"Of course," Mary said, then shot her daughter a warning look as she went to the kitchen.

"I am going to prepare you to pass your Aptitude Test and ensure you get the proper results." Marcus said as he took a seat on one of the plan grey armchairs. He pointed to a couch. "Sit." Louise knew he was only here because Tobias, her cousin, had defected. She wasn't sure where, as no one would tell her anything, but she knew that he had. She was proud of her cousin, and obviously hoped to do the same.

Louise complied with her uncle's command, knowing she really had no other choice. Sure, her parents were bad, but they had nothing on Marcus Eaton. He had disciplined her once, and she had never set foot out of line in front of him again.

Louise wasn't sure how she felt in the hours leading up to the Aptitude Test, she no longer felt nervous as she knew exactly what to expect. But she felt uncertain of herself, and whether or not she would actually be able to go with what her uncle wanted. Soon enough she found herself along with her peers sitting in the cafeteria waiting for their tests. They were called ten at a time, two from each faction by an Abnegation volunteer. Eventually, her name was called, along with a blonde haired boy from her faction. Outside of the cafeteria she found ten rooms waiting for her each separated by mirrors. Louise couldn't help but look at herself from every angle, in the past she had only caught glimpses of herself in the mirror at home during her haircut, or in windows or puddles, but never had she seen so much of herself.

"Room nine," Natalie Prior said, and Louise nodded. She recognised Natalie, her daughter had transferred to Dauntless and her son Erudite, it was a crushing blow for the Priors, to have not just one but both children transfer. Louise nodded her head and made her way into room nine where a Dauntless man stood. He was covered in tattoos from head-to-toe and wore all black.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Sit down," the man said, as he nodded towards the reclined chair in the centre of the room.

Louise examined him for a moment, he was tall and muscular, and most certainly posed a threat to her. So she did as he ordered and reluctantly sat in the reclined chair. Louise settled in the chair as the man busied himself with the machine. Then, he placed electrodes on Louise's head.

"Relax, stiff, it's not going to hurt," The man assured her.

"I never said I was afraid of it hurting," Louise corrected.

The man smirked. "Never seen a stiff talk back to anyone," he mused. He then passed her a vial of a clear liquid. "Drink this."

"Why?" Louise asked as she examined it.

"Because I said so," came the man's response.

Louise hesitated for a moment then pressed the vial to her lips, she slowly drank the contents of the vial. Then, the world went black.

Louise woke for a second time, this time she was back where she belonged, in the testing room with the man from Dauntless.

"Shit," the man muttered out.

Louise tensed. Did she do something wrong? Sure, it would have been easy to do what her uncle had said, she was aware the whole time, but she wanted her results to be genuine. She wanted to know where she truly belonged.

"Wait here." he barked out, and after Louise nodded he made his way out of the room. Louise, shifted in the seat and danged her feet over the edge of the chair. She kicked them as she waited, then, unable to sit still any longer, she stood and paced back and forth. The door opened and the man raised an eyebrow.

"I thought I said to-"

"Did I fail?" Louise asked nervously.

"Oh, stiff, you did quite the opposite. Congratulations, you have two factions to choose from." the man said dryly.

Louise blinked in surprise. "What? That's impossible. We're only supposed to get one result!"

"Looks like you defied nature, congratulations stiff." The man said in a bored tone. "Your results are Erudite and Dauntless, which means you have a big decision ahead of you. Oh, and, don't let anyone know you're Divergent, or there could be fatal consequences."

Louise furrowed her brows in confusion, fatal consequences, why would having two test results lead to her death?

"You have a lot to think about, run along, stiff," the Dauntless man said, as he opened the door for Louise. Louise reluctantly left the room, she had a million questions on her mind, but knew that she would get the answer to none, at least not from him. She knew better than to ask her family, whom she would be leaving tomorrow. No, she would look in her new faction, as soon as she decided just which faction that would be.

Hello and thanks for checking out my Divergent fic!

This is set 1 year after Tris's initiation, and the attack on Abnegation (obviously) never occurred.

This is going to be a Dauntless initiation story. Featuring characters made by...you!

I will be accepting 1 more "true" divergent (who has more than 1 test result) and 1 who is aware that they are in a simulation - similar to Four.

Four will remain a trainer, and Eric will be overseeing it, along with another leader (preferably female) - ask me if you'd like to make them.

How to Submit

If you're interested in submitting, please PM me your idea, PM it to me do NOT review. Once your idea is approved, I will send you the form.

I'm hoping to get an equal amount of girls/boys. I will be accepting both transfers and non-transfers initiates. I will also need those that will fill an antagonistic role.

If you have any questions, please PM me. I
