Monday morning, September 4
Class 1-A had the sports festival. They didn't have any actual school, so they continued from their dorms to the arena first thing in the morning. The first fight of the morning was Sakane Kirishima VS. Saza Sero. Sakane was prepared. He came from his dorm proud and confident that he would win. Saza's laid back personality got in the way of him being competitive.
When the class walked onto the field in the morning, they could see the principal waiting for them on a stand. His fluffy yellow hair matched his pinstriped yellow suit. He was slouched over, and his face was pale and drained of energy.
"Good morning, Class A! It's good to see you." He exclaimed, throwing his arms into the air. "I am Principal Might!"
Other than Sakane, Class 1-A hadn't met the principal. Number one hero turned educator, All Might, was the most popular teacher at the school yet.
"I will not be conducting the event, I am only here to introduce you to the crowd!" All might yelled, motioning towards the stands behind him.
If you looked close enough, in the first stand to All Might's right you could see Sakane's parents. Red Riot's noticeable mane of red hair stood out against the crowd. Both of his dad's had come, as well as the parents of some of the other students sprinkled throughout the stands. Deku and Uravity, Cellophane and Pinky, Chargebolt, and Creati were there supporting their children.
Then, a massive shadow creature could be seen standing on the top of the arena. It was werewolf-like, and towered over All Might when it jumped down to the stand. When the shadow calmed down, the Number 15 hero could be seen. They were significantly shorter than All Might, only standing at about 5 foot 2.
"That was quite the entrance, Momentum." All might sighed, clearly not pleased with the energetic hero in front of him.
"Well, there was nothing stopping me from being dramatic." Momentum shrugged, "Anyways, I'll take it from here."
All Might then left the stage, and Momentum stood on the stand in front of Class 1-A.
"Alright! Are you heroes in the making ready for the time of your lives?!" Momentum exclaimed, trying to get the class excited. Suddenly, Aki started speaking.
"Dad! You're embarrassing me! Stop this instant!" Aki yelled, her face red with embarrassment.
"Oh? You don't want me to be myself in front of your friends? Too bad Aki!" Momentum teased, then going on with the announcement of the first battle. "Okay, The first battle is Sakane Kirishima, VS. Saza Sero!"
The roar of the crowd was loud enough to raise Sakane's confidence significantly. He walked proudly to his side of the ring, standing with his hands in his pockets. Saza stood across from him, sort of scared that he would die. There was nothing stopping Sakane from killing Saza, but he knew he wouldn't.
Then, Momentum blew the whistle. An enormous explosion blew up on Sakane's side of the ring. The dust and debris flew everywhere, knowingly creating cover for Sakane to move in close to Saza. But, Saza knew what Sakane was doing. He used his tape to create obstacles that he hoped Sakane would run into, but he had no luck. Before he knew it, Sakane had driven his open palm into Saza's stomach. The sharp rocks that Sakane had formed in his palm burst on the impact, creating another massive explosion. Saza used his tape to stay in the ring, although just barely making it. He wasn't used to Sakane's low to the ground fighting style.
Dang. This kid has power! Saza thought, wincing at the strain his elbows were under. Sakane stood in front of him, his hands balled into fists. The sadistic smile spread across his face made Saza unsure if he wanted to keep fighting. Sparks flew from Sakane's fists as he ground his knuckles together, laughing uncontrollably.
"Are you scared, Elbows?" Sakane yelled across the battlefield, taking a slow step towards Saza.
"No! Not at all!" Saza exclaimed nervously. Tape flew from Saza's elbows, aiming to restrain Sakane's arms. It was no use. He was knocked to the ground with Sakane standing over him, the top half of his body going over the line.
"Saza is out of bounds!" Momentum announced,
The fight was over within minutes, leaving Class 1-A wide eyed trying to figure out what happened. They couldn't see anything through the dust that Sakane had created, therefore they couldn't see who won. When the dust settled they could see Sakane grinning sadistically, standing over Saza, who was laying on the ground. The look of fear on Saza's face didn't phase him. He kept flexing his open palms just like his father did.
"HA! I fucking won!" Sakane laughed, stepping away from Saza. The sadistic smile was still spread across his face, and his hands were still flexed.
The big screen changed, Sakane's name moving up the rankings. The rest of the matches were displayed. The next duel would consist of Azul Tokoyami and Yagami Kiyohira.
Azul and Yagami stepped into the ring, preparing to fight each other. They had to wait a short amount of time before they could fight because Sakane's explosions destroyed the concrete floor.
"Greetings, fellow student. I suppose I will be dueling you." Azul said. His face lacked expressions, and his hands were held behind his back. He stared Yagami dead in the eyes.
"Uh. Yeah? What about it?!" Yagami exclaimed, taking a fighting stance.
"And I understand that you are a first generation student here at UA?" Azul questioned, his sharp gaze not moving.
"Bro, you're creeping me out…" Yagami said, cautious of Azul's actions.
"I'll have you know, I'm more dangerous than I seem."
"You seem pretty dangerous to me!"
"Hm."
Azul's eyes closed, and shadow branched from behind him. Yagami attempted to activate his quirk, but failed. The shadow engulfed him, picking him up and placing him out of bounds.
"Well that was anticlimactic." Momentum sighed, putting their hands on their hips.
"A big build up paired with a short fight is my specialty, Momentum." Azul said, calmly walking back to the stands where his class had been sitting. His name moved up the rankings on the big screen, stopping next to Sakane's. Aoi and Tsuchiya walked into the ring.
"So, what's your quirk anyways? It doesn't look super flashy." Tsuchiya asked Aoi. Aoi's smile disappeared, and Tsuchiya realized he messed up.
"My quirk is similar to the distortion of sound." a voice said. It came from behind Tsuchiya, but it sounded like Aoi. His mouth wasn't moving, but he could be heard.
"I can make myself heard from close, or very far away." Aoi said again, now being heard loud and clear through the entire stadium.
"Oh. That's super cool!" Tsuchiya exclaimed. He readied his fighting stance and activated his quirk between his fingers. "But I think I can beat you."
Just then, Tsuchiya shot out electricity at Aoi. He successfully dodged the first few bolts but got caught by the last one.
Tsuchiya's quirk was electrified nerve control, so he was able to make Aoi start walking out of the ring. As soon as Aoi reached the edge of the line he stopped. A massive explosion sounded from behind Tsuchiya, sounding exactly like Sakane. It made him turn around, but that was a bad idea. Aoi ran at Tsuchiya, knocking him out of bounds. Momentum announced that Aoi was the winner.
It was announced shortly after that there would be a short break. Class 1-A went to the break room to start getting prepared for the next duels.
"All these fights are anticlimactic!" Sakane exclaimed, his voice resonating through the hallway. "At least my fight was exciting!"
"You hurt Saza pretty badly, dude." Karakara said. His voice was calm and even toned, the only one capable of calming Sakane's rampant ego.
As class 1-A was walking down the hallway, they ran into one of the pro heroes that was visiting. His bright yellow hair and signature smile could be seen charging down the hallway at full speed toward Tsuchiya.
"Dad! What are you doing?!" Tsuchiya yelled. His dad scooped him up in a massive hug, seeming to congratulate him for not winning the fight.
"Wow! My son did amazing!" Chargebolt exclaimed, then putting Tsuchiya back on the floor. Him and the rest of class 1-A were about the same height.
Tsuchiya's face was red, and he was looking at the floor. He rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment.
"You don't have it as bad as I do, Tsuchiya. My father is the announcer." Aki said, trying to calm Tsuchiya's nerves.
"Dad, why are you even doing this?" Tsuchiya asked.
"Cause I wanted to tell you that it is a very bad idea to pick up girls right before you have to fight them. Don't follow in my footsteps, please." Chargebolt explained, putting a hand on his son's shoulder.
Sakane laughed at Tsuchiya.
"Bro! That's not nice! Why would you laugh at a fellow classmate?" Chargebolt exclaimed, turning around.
Sakane continued laughing. "It's just funny, why else would I laugh?"
"Oh." Chargebolt sighed. "You're Bakubro's kid."
