Chapter 1:
Naruto finally did it, he's going to becomes a shinobi he mastered the shadow clone jutsu from the forbidden scroll. Now all he needs to do is show the jutsu to an academy teacher, then he will become a genin bringing him a step closer to his dream of hokage.
"So Naruto you managed to get the forbidden scroll" said a delighted chunin called Mizuki who was on the tree branch.
"Believe it, I got the scroll, and I learnt the shadow clone jutsu, does this mean I've graduated" replied a grinning Naruto shaking in happiness.
"Mwahahaha you really are an idiot, I was lying to you the whole time Naruto" said a laughing man who then glared at Naruto with hatred.
Naruto broke out of his happy state when he heard Mizuki laughter and words.
"What do you mean Mizuki sensei when you said you was lying" spoke the confused child who was taken aback when he saw the hateful glare directed at him 'why do they always glare at me like that' thought Naruto.
"There was no such thing as a graduation test, it was all a ploy for you getting the forbidden scroll and to get you here by yourself" said Mizuki with a malicious smile readying his fuma shuriken to attack Naruto.
"Why Mizuki sensei Why did you lie to me, what have I ever done to you?" Naruto.
"Have you ever wondered why everyone in the village hated you, despised you! Its because you are the demon fox who attacked the village 12 years ago." Said MIzuki with absolute sadistic glee.
"No one cares about you not the hokage or Iruka all they see you as the demon fox and the hokage is the worst of them all he sees you as nothing more than a weapon" barbaracly Mizuki laughed.
Like an avalanche the hard truth hit Naruto hard, making him fall to his knees, he remembered all the cold glares, the harsh whispers telling him to die, denying his existence. He could remember the lonely nights asking himself why he was alive, why he existed in such a painful world.
"Hey fox, stay still and die!" roared Mizuki with cruel laughter. Naruto didn't react at all instead he was having dark thoughts 'maybe I should die its not like anyone would grieve me instead they'll probably be happy, at least if I die I wont need to suffer anymore in this cruel painful world'
Naruto accepted his fate and Naruto had his eyes closed waiting for his impending death, when nothing happened, he opened his eyes all to find a purple haired kunoichi anbu deflect the fuma shuriken with her katana.
"Chunin Mizuki you are under arrest for the theft of the forbidden scroll" stated the anbu in emotionless tone but Naruto could feel a bit of anger coming from her.
"It was the demon who stole the scroll" yelled Mizuki.
"We know you are the one responsible for the theft of the forbidden scroll" said the purple haired anbu.
Suddenly 5 anbu came out of the nowhere and surrounded Mizuki, one anbu goes behind mizuki quickly and knocks him out with hard hit using the pummel of a kunai.
The purple head anbu with the cat mask kindly tells Naruto that she'll be taking him to the hokage. She quickly takes off with him to the hokage office.
A few minutes later, Iruka arrived "Naruto where are you!?" he shouted across the forest. When Iruka noticed the anbu he asked them "Have you found Naruto?"
The anbu replied blandly "He has been taken to the hokage for questioning, but this was all a ploy by Mizuki to gain the forbidden scroll".
Iruka had a shocked face "Mizuki why would he do that"
The 3rd hokage was pacing up and down the office , 'this was not supposed to happen I was going tell him about his status in a controlled environment. Oh Kushina, how I've failed your son badly, your son should be treated like a hero not a demon. Oh god what have I done, I should have been there more for you Naruto, he was going to give his life away not without a single fight. I promise you Naruto I'll do right by you'.
A cloud of smoke of smoke appeared in the centre of the office showing 2 figures the cat anbu and Naruto.
"Naruto you had an interesting night, I'm sure you've got a lot questions for me, I'll be happy to answer any questions" Sarutobi lightly smiled to dispel the mood. Which didn't instead the mood remain the same, tense.
"So is it true I'm a demon, is what Mizuki said true that I'm the nine tailed fox who attacked the village?!" Naruto said getting louder each word spoken, Naruto had his fist clenched.
The cat anbu could help but cringe at the question and Sarutobi replied quickly to dispel the situation "No my boy it not true at all your as much human as me, the truth is that the nine tailed fox was sealed inside you 12 years ago"
"Why me, why seal the nine tailed fox inside me" said Naruto frantically.
"The nine tailed fox was on rampage in the village 12 years and the only to defeat a tailed beast is to seal away" said Sarutobi.
Sarutobi gave the anbu a hand signal to leave.
"What did Mizuki sensei meant by me being a weapon, tell me what did he mean by that" asked Naruto angrily, the thought of his surrogate grandfather thinking of him as a weapon pisses him off.
Hiruzen sighed at that 'I didn't want Naruto to find out about the darker aspect until he was older but I promised myself that I'll tell him the truth'.
"Naruto what you are is a jinchuriki, a human sacrifice. You see a long time ago the first hokage wanted peace across the five great shinobi villages. For that to happen you would need something powerful for the five great villages to be on the same level that was by using the nine bijuus and sealing them into humans. Unfortunately, peace never happened, and well as you see there was three great shinobi wars that happened. JInchiriki are powerful, when the jinchuriki taps into their power of the bijuus they'll have a terrifyingly enhanced strength, speed, healing and deadly chakra at their disposal. For that you can imagine how deadly they were on the frontlines of war, so jinchuriki are known as the greatest weapons." Hiruzen sadly explained to Naruto.
"Will I be treated like a weapon as well?!" Said naruro angrily at this information.
HIruzen rised from his seat to deny the question "No my boy I would treat you like a weapon, you'll be treated as a shinobi like any other shinobi under my command"
Hiruzen sat back down and sighed. He gave Naruto a dark look and said "There are people in the village who sees you nothing more than a weapon and would want you to be nothing more than a weapon.".
"Old man be honest with me if I were to be sent on frontlines would I survive?" said Naruto, surprising Hiruzen with the random question.
"If you were sent of the frontlines, you would be slaughtered in a heartbeat" said Hiruzen plainly, Naruto tried to quickly deny answer.
"Before you deny anything I'll state your abilities bluntly your chakra control is abysmall, your taijutsu is that of a brawler, you've got good insticts but crappy technique and your knowledge of chakra and other shinobi related matters are awful. Be honest with me if I were to ask you what chakra is could you answer and gove me the correct answer me" said Hiruzen bluntly to Naruto.
"I really am dumb like what Mizuki said" Naruto frustratingly said while looking at the ground with his hands clenched.
"Your more intelligent than you think Naruto" chuckling Hiruzen said.
"Gramps, you don't need to know lie to me I know…" Naruto was interrupted by Hiruzen who said, "I don't think u can call a person dumb, who's able to graffiti over the hokage monument whilst wearing a bright orange outfit". Naruto blushed bashfully at that statement.
"The problem you have is applying yourself and maintain your concentration" said Hiruzen with a knowing look.
"Grandpa, why did you lie to me, every time I asked you why everyone hated me you always to me why?!" Naruto couldn't help but feel angry at the person who he though as a grandpa 'is that why he lied to me so he could me loyal to him just as a weapon like Mizuki said or is it because he found it amusing when he lied to me that I was just some funny joke to him that he can have a laugh about , well screw him'. As Naruto thoughts were progressed on Naruto was unconsciously unleashing killer intent.
Hiruzen noticed his killer intent and said "I only wanted you to have a normal childhood, so when the village found out about your status I made a law for older generation to not tell the younger generation your secret so you could make friends. But that didn't work as so much for you and for that I'm sorry for everything that happened. I'll everything in my power to make it up to you.". Hiruzen gave Naruto a deep bow meaning his apology.
Naruto could feel butterflies in his stomach due to guilt 'the old man looked after me my whole life and my thoughts goes to something negative about. But I'm still angry about him lying to my whole life'.
"Grandpa I'm still angry at you for lying, but I still love you for everything you've done for me" Naruto honest stated to the third hokage.
"My boy you got every right to be angry at me, I'll make it up to you with my actions but this is an important question what do u want to do in the future?." Hiruzen said seriously looking at Naruto straight in the eyes, Hiruzen is still the hokage and Naruto decision may affect the village safety.
When Naruto heard the question, he was having serious thoughts 'what does the old man mean , I want to become hokage. Do I, all I ever wanted was the acknowledgement of the villagers, but do I still want it. A part of me yearns for their acknowledgment but the rest of me doesn't care for their acknowledgement. What do I even want, I don't even know what I want anymore'?
"Old man before I wanted to be hokage now I don't even know anymore, this whole information is messing with my head life use to be so simple just aim for hokage now I don't even know anymore." Naruto told hiruzen his honest thoughts.
"Your young, your only 12 years old, take your time but if you want my opinion get stronger and experience the world and you may get answer for what you want in the future" Hiruzen said honestly thinking about his student Jiraiya who travelled the after the second shinobi war.
"How am I supposed to get stronger I failed the graduation test so I can't become a shinobi and hell I failed three times so I can't go back to the academy" Naruto was getting more and more depressed about his situation.
Until he got hit by something in the head "what the hell old ma.." he suddenly stopped his sentence when he saw a Konoha headband on the floor. He picked it up and then looked at the hokage who was smiling.
"Congratulation Naruto Uzumaki for managing to complete the shadow clone jutsu, you have become a genin of the village hidden in the leaf". Hiruzen said proudly to his surrogate grandson.
Suddenly Naruto jumped at the hokage hugging him tightly whilst crying in joy "thank you grandpa" whilst Hiruzen was laughing.
Once Naruto was done hugging the Hokage he asked "what should I do to become stronger gramps" Naruto asked wanting change himself also heeding his grandfather advise.
"You've got a week before the team assignments so you can spend the time training and go to the shinobi library for some training materials" Hiruzen advised him.
"I don't want to go that hell hole, but I guess got no choice to go there if I want to be strong" Naruto said making the hokage laugh at Naruto statement.
When Naruto left the office Hiruzen was left in his thoughts whilst smoking with his pipe 'he never did ask who his parents are or more specifically why he was chosen but I guess it was for the best that he never asked'.
In a dark underground basement, there was 2 dark figures one kneeling before the other.
"Lord Danzo, the jinchuriki has found out about his status" said the kneeling emotionless masked anbu.
"Interesting tell me everything that happened," said the bandaged person.
The masked anbu informed him everything that happened then Danzo said, "keep an eye on him in case he becomes a flight risk capture him and bring him here for the transfer of the nine tailed beast".
